Chapter 5

Back on the planet Nok...

Around going through the temple and Amy's traps, Razer and the others stumbled upon a large statue of a Green Lantern who helped founded the Tribe.

"Is that...?" Razer asked.

"Abin Sur. Hal Jordan's predecessor of the Green Lantern ring," Aya confirmed.

"Yes. The same Lantern who made me the first member of the Indigo Tribe...after destroying his daughter," Indigo-1 stated. "I only hoped that I made him proud now, after everything that's happened."

Razer felt sorry towards Indigo-1, knowing how he felt guilty for his crimes as a Red Lantern during the Red Lantern War. "I understand. I felt the same way many years ago when I became a Red Lantern." He said.

"Abin Sur may be proud of what you have made, just as he would be proud of Hal for standing up to his legacy as a Green Lantern." Aya added.

Indigo-1 smiled gently when hearing this. Thank you, Razer and Aya. I truly appreciate your sympathy on this subject. Let's keep going. The Central Battery is just up ahead."

"Lead us there then, Indigo-1." Aya said, as she and Razer follow the Purple Lantern.

Soon, the three Lanterns made ot to the center of the temple where an giant Indigo Lantern battery stood.

"We made it," Indigo said.

"I detect no more traps in here. It is safe at this very moment, my love," Aya assured to Razer.

Razer nodded and then evaporated the force field away. "Let's search around for the girl."

"Remain cautious. She could be anywhere," Indigo-1 warned, spinning her staff.

Aya then heard yelling, as she was blasted down. Amy popped out of the shadows with a warrior cry.

"There she is!" Aya said.

Razer and Indigo-1 turned around to see a human girl in a Indigo Tribe uniform and highlighted braid attacking Aya.

"Aya! You will not harm her!" Razer exclaimed, firing a red blast from his mouth to make the attacker back off.

Amy evaded the blast and shoot some purple blast at Razer. "Indigo Sister, stand down!" Indigo-1 said. "These two are not our enemies."

Amy silently disagreed. She then spoke the Indigo Tribe language for only Indigo-1 to understand...and what Amy said shocked Indigo-1.

"What did she say?" Razer asked.

"That you and Aya's souls are filled with hatred that's put innocent beings left for dead," Indigo-1 answered. "How your actions with Aya set everything to motion in murdering the niece of a Violet Lantern."

Aya and Razer remember who was Amy was talking about. "Ghia'ta..." Aya said, she felt guilty at what she did to her when she was crazy.

"How...How could she possibly know that?" Razer asked

"We feel the emotions of every living creature in the universe. It's possible that she can read one's souls of guilt," Indigo-1 theorized. "But instead of her feeling remorse, it would appear that she is out to punish those who messed with the natures of life. Including the innocent."

"She's corrupted by the power of compassion." Razer said, helping Aya up. "Hal told me Carol was like that once when she became a Star Sapphire for the first time."

"And unless we find a way to free her soon, I fear that she will lose herself entirely," Indigo-1 added, bringing put her staff.

"I believe I have an idea." Aya said. "We need to trap the girl so you can try to get rid of her ring. She probably had one when that flash brought her here."

"She does," Razer said, pointing at the ring on Amy's right hand finger. "Perhaps if we hit her in different directions, Indigo-1 can grab the ring while she's distracted."

"That plan is plausible," Indigo-1 said. "But it's the best we got. Buy me some time."

"We will. Be ready," Razer said, constructing a speared staff of red and blue.

The Red and Blue Lantern and the green and blue cyborg got into position as they waited for Amy to appear.

After ten seconds of waiting, Amy made her move by throwing construct shurikens all over the place with Razer and Aya either deflecting, dodging, or a bit of both. This, of course, was to keep the two distracted long enough for Amy to whack Razer with her staff and toss him over to Aya harshly.

"My love, are you okay?" Aya asked.

"I'll be fine, Aya," Razer assured. "Are you?"

"Still functional." She then blasts Amy with green and blue blasts to blindside her, as she and Razer got back up. "Razer, capture her right arm and I'll do the same with her left arm."

Razer nodded and he quickly dodged some shuriken constructs, and he shot his red ring with a construct lasso to grab Amy's arm. "Aya, now!"

Aya then uses her green energy to snatch Amy's other arm. "Indigo-1, we apprehended Amy. Hurry and get her ring!"

Indigo-1 moved close to grab Amy's ring. However, the native human thought fast by having a Red Lantern spectrum symbol on her forehead to construct red fire from her breath making her captives keep their distance and let go.

"She has a dangerous red spectrum power with her," Indigo-1 said. "She's stopping us from getting the ring."

Amy then activated both the Green and Blue Lantern abilities that were revealed as spectrum symbols above her head in supercharging herself with the strength to go up and spin around fast making Razer and Aya let go of her.

Razer and Aya fell to the forest ground. "She seems to have the powers of our rings that harness the Spectrums," Aya suggested.

"Indigo mentioned before how her Tribe can emulate the other energies of the emotional spectrum when in close proximity," Razer stated, recalling that information before. "Since we're in range, she can copy our tricks and throw them back at us."

"Then we can't hold her down without her using our powers against us." Aya said.

Indigo-1 then showed up back with the other fallen Lanterns while blocking Amy's attacks.

"She's growing stronger with combing the different Spectrums," Indigo-1 stated. "However, perhaps we can use Amy's own powers against her as to advantage."

"How can we?" Razer asked

"Amy is not the only Lantern to harness the Emotional Spectrum," Indigo-1 reminded, having three Lantern symbols above her head representing the Red, Blue, and Green Lantern Corps. "I'll keep distracting her long enough until you two find a way to knock Amy out."

"Very well," Aya said.

Indigo-1 got into position while praying in her mind that this plan of hers works. 'If Amy is this delirious in her Indigo Lantern state, then I can only imagine what the other Fitzpatrick Sister is like. Especially the Green Lanterns in search of her.' She thought.

Meanwhile, Hal and Guy fell out from the portal harshly in arriving at Zamaron, feeling the ribbon construct disappear.

"Ferris, what gives?!" Guy asked, as he then looked at an unknown Star Sapphire sitting on the throne. "You're...not Ferris." he said.

"She most definitely is not," Hal added.

The Star Sapphire appeared to be wearing a dark magenta velvet and satin cloak in obscuring her appearance. The only noticeable details on her were the short white gloves plus Violet Lantern ring and platform boots.

"Who dares disturb my new kingdom of the Star Sapphires to aid these unworthy warriors in ruining my fabulous plans of redoing this bland system?" the cloaked being questioned.

"New kingdom?" Hal asked. "The ruler of this kingdom is Queen Aga'po."

"That old hag? Please," the new Star Sapphire scoffed. "She's nothing but a sad coward who doesn't deserve the crown. None of these gaudy Star Sapphires do! Which is why the Star Sapphires will be having a new ruler...me."

"Okay, who are you? A Rouge Star Sapphire?" Guy asked, as he then approached the cloaked Star Sapphire and tried to take off her cloak.

"HANDS OFF!" she shouted, constructing a big hand to smack Guy away from her before encasing his body in a giant crystal near Hal. "I was getting to my spectacular introduction, ginger lowlife. You and your partner may call me...Morganite!"

When saying that, she got rid of the cloak to reveal her appearance. Morganite had light sparkly pink wavy hair, a magenta crown and top with the Star Sapphire logo on her chest, a lavender see-through parted skirt, pink legging pants, and magenta short boots. She also had crazy eyes with the Star Sapphire symbol in them.

Hal studied closely and realized something big. This girl looked very familiar to him and knew why. "Oh, no... Carol didn't call because Tina was in danger at Zamaron. Tina IS the danger."

"Oh, boy, we are so dead," Guy said rhetorically, already getting himself out of that hardened gem trap to walk towards her. "Now, kid, calm down..."

In response, an unamused Morganite fired sharp gem hearts at Guy where he quickly made a shield just in time. Unfortunately, they were halfway through the shield that made cracks.

"I am no mere child! I am a lady who does not like to be patronized by some ginger-headed, lowlife, selfish pig!" Morganite yelled, as her energy grew and it was a mix between sparkles and flames. "So, either back off...or I will remove that disgusting tongue of yours!"

Without warning she fired a harsh pink blast at both Lanterns where they ended up outside. Morganite just floated towards them, looking full-on charged to attack harder.

"Well, I'm out of options," Guy said, as he blasts Morganite with green energy from his ring.

"Guy, no, wait!" Hal yelled.

Morganite was pushed back a little by that hit where she gasped as if offended by that. "You dare shoot the new ruler of the Star Sapphires?! This. Means. WAAAAAAR!"

When shouting that, Morganite summoned a transparent extraterrestrial beast called the Cephalon.

"Oh, not that thing again," Hal deadpanned.

"Relax, I got this," Guy said. "Go find Ferris and ask her what the heck is going on with this kid. I'll hold that creature and her off."

Although believing this is going to end badly, Hal does need to find Carol and the other Star Sapphires in understanding what's happened to Tina. Plus...Hal's known Guy long enough that he's more than an annoying distraction to tick people off. Including his own Lantern team.

"Fine. She seems more focused on you than me anyway," Hal said, already flying off. "Just try not to hurt her!"

"I make no promises!" Guy added. "But I'll try." He then flew away with Morganite chasing him with the Cephalon.

"I hope Lea is not having a hard time like us," Hal muttered to himself.

Meanwhile, back at Okaara, Lea/Midnight Hope and Saint Walker were flying around the planet searching for Little Chill. After ruling out the forest, they decided to check out the temple.

"According to Hal Jordan, Larfleeze is the only Orange Lantern alive. Since the power of avarice was so strong, it made him insane." Saint Walker explained.

"Yes. I get the picture, Walker," Lea stated, suppressing her fear and annoyance. "Hal's told me the story dozens of times. It's obvious we need to go in, get Little Chill, and then out before one of us ends up being a greedy psychopath. And avoid looking at that stupid Orange Lantern battery as the major cause!"

"Thankfully, you have limitless potential of hope, sister. We'll see if it can overpower greed." Saint Walker said.

Lea looked away from that. Deep down, she's worried her hope may not be enough to prevent being a selfish version of herself. "Let's just get this over with."

Inside the temple, Saint Walker and Lea searched around to see if Little Chill is somewhere. But they soon heard some impacts and boom sounds echoing from the walls. "Either Larfleeze is dealing will hallucinations or he's attacking someone." Saint Walker said.

"Little Chill! We got to save him!" Lea exclaimed, flying into high gear.

"Sister Lea, wait!" Saint Walker said, trying to catch up with Lea.

Narration: I didn't have time for waiting. The more we wait, the worse things will get unless we kick this problem to the curb! Also, not because I'm hiding a deeper fear that connects to why I despise the Orange Lantern Corp so much.

Still...I kind of wished I'd listened instead of rushed into what I was about to face.

Midnight Hope soon reached a large room where there's several orange crystal forms and broken ruins. It looked like a major battle happened recently.

"That's...ominous," Lea said, taking a closer look at the weird crystals and orange pile of Orange Lantern rings around the stairs that lead to the main Orange Lantern battery. Just looking at the millions of rings that belonged to the deceased Lanterns made the Blue Lantern girl shudder.

Saint Walker felt the orange crystal. "It feels... cold." He said. "You think Little Chill...?"

"Stood his ground from possibly Larfleeze attacking him and fought back? Most definitely," Midnight Hope said, soon noticing something odd. "Hm? ...Hey, Saint Walker? Shouldn't there be a Lantern battery on the top of that temple display up there?"

Saint Walker then looks at the display. It was indeed empty. "Yes, it's supposed to be there."

Just then they heard explosions. And then they see something flying fast.

Then, they see the Orange Lantern Larfleeze himself. "Get back here with my battery, you pest!" He yelled.

"It's Larfleeze!" Saint Walker said.

Midnight Hope gagged when smelling the greedy Lantern up close. "Ew! No doubt about it! Hal wasn't kidding about this creep not taking a shower for hundreds of years," she remarked, constructing a nose plug. "Doesn't matter. I'm stopping the orange sicko here and now!"

"Lea, wait!" Saint Walker exclaimed, only to be too late again in seeing Midnight Hope rushing in after Larfleeze.

"LARFLEEZE! You better tell me what you've done with Little Chill right this instant!" Lea/Midnight Hope yelled, flying after the Orange Lantern.

Larfleeze then looks at Lea. "A Blue Lantern? GO AWAY! You're not taking my stuff! They're MINE!" He shouted, blasting a massive amount of orange energy at Lea.

"Whoa!" Lea felt herself pushed back hard to a wall but quickly recovered with an angry growl. "Oh, that tears it! You asked for it!"

Concentrating hard, Midnight Hope constructed a large clamp to grab one of the pillars and pull it down straight to where Larfleeze was in slowing down.

The Orange Lantern was hit very hard and fell into the pile of Orange Lantern power rings. But then, Lea was then hit by a fast small orange light.

"MINE!" the fast light said.

"Ow! Seriously, Larfleeze?! You think a little Orange construct can take me down?!" Midnight Hope scoffed, now constructing a large blue hand to grab it and bring it back to her. "It's like you're not even try-"

Midnight Hope paused when looking at what she caught in shock. Turns out, it wasn't an Orange Lantern construct. It was an actual Orange Lantern carrying the Orange Lantern battery. But not just any Orange Lantern...it was Little Chill!

"...CHILL?! You're the one who stole the Lantern battery!?" Lea questioned in disbelief.

"It's my shiny battery! MINE! MINE!" Little Chill was even wearing an orange lantern color scheme. "Mine!"

Yeah…I seriously did not see this one coming.
