Sometime Later in Pentagram City
The loud sounds of a chainsaw rippled through the streets of hell as the blades feasted through the body of an Exterminator starting from the left shoulder all the way to the right hip causing it to be cut completely in half. The blood poured out like a waterfall as the Exterminator lay lifeless on the ground in two pieces rather than one.
The Slayer continued to hold his chainsaw in his hands as he stared down at his work. It was unknown how much time had passed since he had been out here but it was not a surprise that he kept on getting met with more and more resistance, more and more of these things trying to kill him. It was also unknown to him how many of these things he had actually killed, but that number was definitely not small. His kill count wouldn't stop there as two more of them were up to the challenge and looked pretty confident too.
The Slayer pulled out his plasma rifle as the two charged at him. He shot three plasma rounds into one of the Exterminators which stunned it for a moment so he could deal with the other one. While the Exterminator came in with an overhead strike, the Slayer used his blade to stab it through the Exterminator's left arm. That sudden jolt of pain caused it to drop its spear while the blade was still through its arm. It struck the Slayer with a hard punch two times to try and break away but it wasn't doing much at all. The Slayer used his plasma rifle and shot two shots into the Exterminator's chest at point-blank range. He then maneuvered the Exterminator's arm and pulled back hard which literally caused the arm of the Exterminator to come out of its body. Blood poured from the Exterminator's arm as it writhed in pain but wasn't paying attention as the Slayer shot three more plasma rounds into its head which put it out of its misery. The other Exterminator wanted vengeance as it charged again ready to hit the Slayer with a hard jab. The Slayer dropped his rifle and moved away from the strike while grabbing the spear with both hands. He then yanked the Exterminator over his shoulder and threw him to the ground where he stomped directly on its head which crushed it into several pieces.
Yet another Exterminator to bite the dust at the hands of the Doom Slayer. He walked over and picked up his plasma rifle while he loosened up his shoulders. He was starting to feel like he had strength flowing through him again as he dealt with these creatures. He also found it to be good practice to keep him on his toes and for him to not lose that fighting edge.
The edge was about to return as he could hear one making unintelligible noises from the sky behind him. He turned around to see one was dive-bombing him. When it got close it hucked its spear at the Slayer. Using the dash of his praetor suit he avoided the throw. The Exterminator flew by and picked up a lone spear on the ground and was ready for another attack. It came back around and readied another throw. The Slayer clenched his fists and reached behind his back for something special. The Exterminator threw it even harder this time but still came up empty as the Slayer avoided that too. But this time it wouldn't fly by as the Slayer brought out his super shotgun and shot the meathook at the Exterminator yanking it out of the sky and towards the barrel where it got absolutely disintegrated. The Slayer's armor was splattered with blood even worse than it already was. He was looking like a Christmas decoration with all that green and red.
He held up his fuming shotgun and placed a hand on the barrel. From there he unloaded the gun and popped in two brand-new shells so he was ready to fire again. He then began to walk down the street past the several corpses he just created.
He realized that shooting that creature while it was right over the top of him was not the greatest of ideas because his visor had blood covering it so his vision was partially impaired. But hey, he's been through tougher spots.
The Slayer sent away his shotgun and returned back to the normal clenched fist walk that he did. So far he had a bit of a break from fighting these things as none of them were trying to sneak up behind him, throw a spear at him, punch him, stab him, or anything of that sort.
He began marching through Pentagram City and spotted nothing but carnage throughout the streets of hell. So many demons laid waste; some demons were found with wide eyes as spears tore open their midsections plenty of guts and blood poured down into the streets of hell. Others just had spears through the head or chest and most likely died from the blood loss of a stab wound. Some were just found as bloody messes and really couldn't be recognized all too well. This was truly something for the Slayer to witness for a cleanse. He maybe thought that the people of hell would all try to kill one another but nothing like this. It felt like every street he went down had the same pattern as just body after body after body was found dead on the street with pools and pools of blood to go with it. The Slayer was definitely wondering what the whole story was behind this and if these creatures were some time of angels after all.
The Slayer had been walking through hell freely now for around five minutes without being attacked. But hey, when are things ever easy in the Slayer's case as that moment of peace would not last forever as all things do not last forever.
He heard the unknown noises of these things as he looked up at one that was flying shallowly to the ground and came to rest several feet in front of him stopping him in his tracks. The Slayer's face grew quite angry as he started to reach behind his back. He then stopped to see that another one landed right next to it. Soon came another, then another, then another, and THEN another. He moved his arm back towards the side of his body.
The Slayer once again found himself being completely surrounded by a group of Exterminators. This was without a doubt the largest group he had faced as six of them all looked determined to finally bring this man down. All of them showed their large grins and gave their spears the tightest of grips to avenge their fallen brethren.
The amount of these things around him meant a new attack strategy. The Slayer slowly reached behind his back again and revealed a new weapon to them as he pulled out his sentinel hammer. Him being surrounded was a perfect time to use it. He looked around at all of them to see if they still wanted to attack him and he wouldn't blame them if they decided to run. But that didn't happen as one of them charged in and the Slayer took the hammer in both hands and took a massive leap in the air which made the Exterminator pause in his tracks to stare up at what was happening. The Slayer came down and slammed the hammer on the pavement which caused a shockwave resulting in every Exterminator being knocked off their feet and to the ground.
The Exterminators slowly started to get to their feet and looked back at the Slayer who just stood there with his hammer in hand waiting for them to try again. One of them charged at the Slayer and swung its spear twice but missed both times. The Slayer used his hammer to smash the Exterminator's leg. When the Exterminator fell to a knee, he used his shoulder cannon to launch a grenade at its head which killed it with a small explosion.
Another one attacked from the rear. The Slayer simply stuck an arm out and used his blade to counter the strike. He then used his hammer to uppercut the Exterminator sending it flying backward once again. Two more Exterminators charged at once. One of them tried to punch the Slayer while the other tried to stab him. When the Slayer saw this he dropped his hammer and caught the Exterminator's punch and caught the Exterminator's spear. As both of them fought to overpower the Slayer he pushed their arms downwards causing them to lose their balance and fall forward toward him. He grabbed the sides of their heads and smashed them together like he was cracking a couple of eggs, killing them both. He then leaned down to pick up his hammer and send it away for his super shotgun. Only three Exterminators remained now. He slowly made sure the two shells he loaded in earlier were still in and they were. He stared at the three of them to see what they were planning.
They made a coordinated attack as one of them bull-rushed the Slayer. He tried to jab him directly in the chest but missed and received a powerful punch of ammunition to the chest sending it backward and causing it to bleed out from an exploded hole in its stomach. Another one from behind tried an aerial attack but the Slayer was too quick as he grabbed its leg and slammed it over his shoulder to the ground. He stepped on its chest, loaded two more rounds into the gun, and fired the super shotgun at its head splattering its brain over the pavement. As the Slayer unleashed that shell into the Exterminator, he felt a painful sensation on his left bicep. He turned his head to see an Exterminator behind him. He backstepped its next strike and used the meathook to pull the Exterminator close. Due to his super shotgun having no bullets, he simply pulled it in to unleash a powerful punch which caused the Exterminator to fall backward and onto the ground, still alive. The Slayer looked at his arm to see that he was actually cut by the spear and blood was pouring down his left arm. The Slayer couldn't help but actually let out a smug smile at the fact that he was actually bleeding. He hadn't felt that sensation in so long, not since he was given the power of the divinity machine. His old praetor suit wouldn't allow that because it covered his entire body but of course, he outgrew that one. But this feeling was a feeling that made him feel human again.
He looked back over to the Exterminator who was getting to its feet. The Slayer was nothing but ready to put it in the ground. He walked swiftly towards it and avoided the attempt to strike him again. He swung his right hand and cracked it in the side of the head. He had used so much force in his last two punches that he had actually cracked its horn severely. He then thought of a creative way to kill it. He dashed over to it and broke off the Exterminator's horn and spun it around to jab it through its head which fully killed it.
The Slayer stood over it for a moment and then looked around to see if any other creature was going to try to kill him. When he didn't see anyone, he took a gander over to his bicep again and a fair amount of blood covered his bicep but he didn't care. He knew he wouldn't bleed out from it. But it did make him think to himself that he got sloppy there. That strike could have been completely avoided and he shouldn't have allowed himself to get hit. In a way, that pain was a good reminder. He had to stop thinking about that and focus up now, he had another fight on his hands.
Hazbin Hotel
As the Extermination went on, the people of the hotel were still wondering what was going on with the Slayer being outside in hell. They had no idea of knowing whether or not he was alive or dead. Although one of them was very interested in figuring that out.
While Alastor was up in his radio tower a thought had come to his mind. He decided he would get the help of his friend from the other side. He summoned his shadow for a task that wouldn't put Alastor in harm's way of being slaughtered.
"Do a bit of exploring for me. Locate that human so I can see if he is still alive or not," Alastor said. The shadow obliged to Alastor's request and went searching through the city for the Slayer's whereabouts. Alastor would be waiting until the shadow responded back to him about where the Slayer was.
Alastor went on waiting for his shadow to provide him with the answer to his request. Now he was fully aware that Pentagram City was no small city and would take his shadow some time in order to find the human. He also guessed that if his shadow took a long time and came back with no trace, then the human is most likely dead or he is in hiding.
Another minute had passed and still nothing. Alastor began to grow a bit restless as he got up to his feet. He picked up his cane and walked towards the windows up in his radio tower. He peered through them to see if he could see anyone getting killed so he could be briefly entertained. He tried to squint as hard as he could but the hotel was not in a good spot to see any good action. "Perhaps I should invest in one of those telescopes so I can see further." He thought to himself. He knew that he would never see any action on the hotel's premises due to the fact that this place was in the Morningstar family name. Because of that, the Exterminators never really came near this place. In a way, they knew not to touch the royal family as they did share the same blood as them.
Alastor hit a lucky break as his boredom wouldn't last too long as the shadow was communicating with him informing him that he had spotted the human. Alastor went back over to his chair so he didn't fall over while putting himself in a type of trance. He went into the world of the other side and could see through the shadow's perspective. He watched as the human was currently battling three Exterminators at once and was easily winning the fight. But that wasn't the more interesting part. The bigger factor here was the human was actually alive.
"Well, well. Look at that. He is still alive and well after all. This may end up being a bit of a foolish decision but who doesn't like taking risks." He thought to himself. Alastor got up from his seat and basically walked towards the windows. Using the power of what he called the void, it allowed him to practically transport from destinations in record time. This destination happened to be right next to the human himself. He adjusted his suit as he was around twenty feet away from where the human was. He looked around and saw two dead Exterminators and could figure out pretty easily that the human was the one who killed them, especially since he was currently battling one. He watched as the human stabbed the Exterminator right through the chest with his blade and just tossed it to the ground like a ragdoll. He then watched him walk over and place his large boot on the Exterminator's chest and point a shotgun at its head before pulling the trigger and splattering its blood on the streets of hell. Alastor couldn't be more entertained by the carnage. He figured now it would be a good time to say hello since the human had some downtime.
"Bravo, bravo my good man. The question is finally solved if you were still a part of the living or you had died at the hands of these heavenly lowlifes," Alastor said as he had a big smile towards the dead Exterminator. He looked back to see that the human was pointing his shotgun at his face. "I can assure you I am not going to join them in an attempt to kill you so you can kindly POINT that gun of yours elsewhere." While he was speaking he used a hand to push the gun away from his face.
The Slayer gave him a mean look before slowly lowering the shotgun down to his side. He wasn't going to bother to put it away just yet as there was no guarantee that he wouldn't need it again. Alastor should count himself lucky, the Slayer would have never expected to see him out here so he almost blew his head off.
"Usually I spend my Extermination locked up in my radio tower, giving the people of hell fantastic commentary of the poor souls who find themselves trapped during this wretched event. But being this up close and personal is a lot more fun!" It seemed to be perfect timing as he watched a demon in the distance get stabbed multiple times before dying of blood loss. "Coming from Miss Charlie, she forgot to educate you on this wonderful event. I mean she had to forget if you willingly left the hotel to be out here during this time which I can completely respect."
It is true that he was never told that this event was going to happen. Since the fact that Alastor had gone and joined him out here, he could figure out if his hypothesis of this event was true.
"Since you are just uneducated I'll give you a simple rundown of this whole event. This event is pretty simple to follow. If you take those working eyes of yours over to that big clock tower over there, you'll see that it always has the time of day and the days counting down to the yearly cleanse. For an entire day, these creatures," He started before using his cane to point at the dead one to the right of them. "Including the one you just slaughtered come down from the world above to slaughter any demon in sight. I had wondered if you would become a target since you are not a demon, but I guess they must assume everyone they see is a demon. Many demons around hell refer to them as Exterminators which is the entirety of their jobs."
The Slayer looked away from Alastor and towards all of hell at the beings, he now knew was referred to as Exterminators. He pretty much could take their job title as well as they were not doing a good job exterminating him. According to Alastor, they were only attacking him because they think he was a demon. He started to wonder if his praetor suit was giving off a demon presence. He figured that could be a cause for them thinking that way.
"You seem to be giving off a sense of fear in a lot of them. I am surprised that you are not getting swarmed with them by this point in time. I can easily tell that you have had your fair share of carnage today," Alastor said as he was referring to the blood residing all over the Slayer's armor.
Of course, the Slayer could not fully tell how much blood was on his suit, while he did have blood coming from that nasty cut on his right bicep it was probably nothing compared to the blood of the Exterminators.
"Well, well," Alastor began to say as it went towards the dead Exterminator and picked up the spear. "I hadn't really bothered to hold one of these as most of the scavengers of hell collect them by the end of the cleanse but these are extremely valuable in hell. You can slaughter some tough beings in hell with these, myself included. But...No one is idiotic enough to attempt such a thing." He said as he looked at the Slayer making sure he wasn't going to get any funny ideas with that information.
The Slayer gritted his teeth and started to clench his shotgun a little tighter as he almost saw that as a challenge and was prepared for this Alastor to make a move on him. But Alastor never did.
"Well now that you have been properly informed and I can confirm that you haven't met fate's end just yet what shall you do now? Continue to bask in the Extermination for the many, many hours it has left? Or will you venture back to the hotel and wait it out like everyone else? Well, except those who have been mutilated by them." Alastor asked.
The Slayer just stared at him remaining silent not giving him any sort of answer in any form. At this point, they could hear the sounds of bloodshed and screams from the distance as either man waited for another to speak.
"Hmph. No answer I see. Well, then I guess I will leave you to whatever decision you make. You know where the hotel is so I know you can find your way back. Au revoir," Alastor said with a bow and in that instance, a dark cloud seemed to engulf him, and when the cloud vanished, so did he.
The Slayer looked away from where Alastor last was and looked towards the sky. He still would find these Exterminators flying around the sky so they can go over the buildings. Made it a lot quicker and easier to travel street from street and to spot any target. The Slayer started to walk down the street now as the carnage kept on going around him. As he walked, saw a couple of those Exterminators ahead of him. From the looks of it, they just tag-teamed a couple of demons adding a few demons to their kill count. He clenched his grip on his shotgun as he got closer and closer to them. The Exterminators turned and spotted him. The Slayer was ready to kill a few more of them but that's not what happened. That sinister smile they all had was not so sinister. They both looked afraid to see him and took flight to fly away. The Slayer figured that word may have been spreading between them that he was not someone to try and kill. Or, they were the last two Exterminators that ran away hours ago, but who knows? They all look similar after all.
Even if those were the same two he saw earlier, this pattern began to continue with every other Exterminator he saw. They all were completely scared of him and just kept flying away and leaving him alone. He was now getting the same treatment he always gets no matter where he is, one that says "I ain't going to mess with that guy." The Slayer wasn't just going to go and kill every Exterminator he saw now because of the other ones that tried to kill him. These Exterminators that he saw now were the dumb ones, the ones he just killed were the stupid ones. As a familiar quote goes, you can fix dumb but you can't fix stupid. Besides, it's not like these creatures are the demons he fought back in his own home world. These things weren't the ones who ruined his life and took everything he cared about away from him. Also, it feels like these Exterminators have some type of brain that allows them to actually think or show a type of emotion.
Hazbin Hotel Sometime Later
The group at the Hazbin Hotel was still trying to find ways to kill time. This was the group's very first Extermination together and they weren't sure what they should do. Angel was currently lounging out on one of the couches looking at his phone while also listening to music with headphones on his head.
Husk and Niffty were over by the bar actually playing a card game that Niffty suggested which came as a surprise to Husk because he was very good at card games and typically mopped the floor with those who tried to challenge him. Typically Husk likes to play the more advanced card game like poker/Texas hold'em or even blackjack. But Niffty isn't too good with the rules of that game so they are just playing the game of Crazy Eights.
Charlie and Vaggie were over by the check-in desk sorting through the keys to all the rooms making sure every room that was open had the key to the room. They probably had done this several times already but they also have been trying to kill time just like all the others.
Alastor's location was a bit unknown at the moment. Everyone just assumed he was in his room or up in his tower of his but we can tell where he slipped off too.
But it would be a lie if in the back of everyone's mind was thinking about the Slayer outside in hell during the Extermination. It had been hours since the start and he hadn't come back yet. They don't know that he had been slaughtering any attacker in his path with ease and was going to be just fine. They were about to find out as the doors were opened and the people of the hotel knew exactly who was. The Slayer pushed the door closed behind him. He now held his pump shotgun and slowly walked down the hallway.
"Holy fuck," Angel said first as the Slayer looked like a mess.
"Oh, thank goodness you made it back. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you about the Extermination. It's my fault you were put in that dangerous situation," Charlie spoke really fast as she rushed over to him. The Slayer took that by surprise as normally he didn't receive apologies and he wouldn't have blamed her for anything. Not like he cared about being put in dangerous situations.
"Wow. Um, you look like you've been through some shit," Vaggie said going off of the Slayer's appearance.
"Yes, are you alright? You are covered in blood." She said as she began to look him over like a worried housewife.
"Wait, I don't even know how much of that blood is his. I think he literally fucked up the Exterminators out there all on his own. Also, he looks fucking badass like that," Angel said.
"Actually I think he has a point, Charlie. A lot of the blood is on his armor," Vaggie said as all eyes went onto the Slayer. His actual wound would go unnoticed as it practically blended in with the blood covering him.
"OF COURSE he is alright. My word, where is your sense of confidence in him?" Alastor said as he appeared out of the shadows.
"God fucking damnit Alastor, for ONCE can you stop being a creep who comes out of nowhere?" Vaggie exclaimed as Alastor did make her jump.
"Hm let me think on that. No." Alastor responded.
"Where the hell have you been this whole time?" Angel asked.
"Where else would I be? My tower of course!" Alastor responded which was only partly true. But the Slayer wouldn't bother to speak to call him out on that lie. "But look at the man, he looks as if he's seen tons of action out there in hell from those pesky Exterminators."
"Guess that answers the question if he would be attacked by them," Angel said as it did in fact answer that question but for all the wrong reasons.
"I still find that so shocking that they would go and attack a human," Charlie said as she stop worrying and started to believe what the others were saying about him being fine.
"They probably just attack anyone they see," Alastor said repeating the same thing he said to the Slayer.
"I-I guess so," Charlie said. But there is a whole other reason that they may never find out.
"Well, congrats big guy. You are the only human to ever experience an Extermination, survive an Extermination, and kill an Exterminator," Angel said as he sat himself up and put the headphones around his neck.
"If I had to guess I would say he probably doesn't give a shit," Husk said as he and Niffty put their game to rest to check in on the Slayer.
"Eh maybe. But still pretty cool though isn't it," Angel said with a shoulder shrug.
"I'll say," Niffty said.
"If I may. I feel like we should probably leave him be and also like...let him clean up. I doubt he wants to be covered in blood all day. Right?" Vaggie asked the Slayer. But just got the same stare that everyone gets.
"Vaggie how fucking long have you been around this guy?" Husk asked making Vaggie feel stupid for asking the non-speaker a question.
"Shut up, maybe I thought he'd give me a head shake or something," Vaggie said defending her actions.
"Well going back to what Vaggie had said If you were, in fact, thinking about it, your room does come with a bathroom if you wanted to clean up...all that blood," Charlie said motioning to pretty much all of him. It was definitely an idea that the Slayer could do cause he did like to keep his armor in the best condition he could keep it and he definitely needed to see out of his HUD. He looked away from Charlie and began to walk towards the stairwell. Everyone could tell what he was going to do after what Charlie just said. "Whew, well that's a relief that he isn't dead after all." She said to the others and truly did mean it.
"Mother fucker is too angry to die I guess," Husk said just trying to be creative with that statement as this human did seem pretty unkillable. But he didn't know how right he was.
"I figured he would spend more time out there," Alastor said as he held his hands behind his back and watched the Slayer march away.
"Wait, what is that supposed to mean?" Vaggie asked.
"Oh, did I forget to mention that I checked on him during the Extermination and also had a short conversation with him out in hell?" Alastor asked even though he definitely meant to keep that to himself.
"YES, yes you didn't mention that!" Vaggie responded.
"Wait hold up you just fucking said you were up in your tower the whole time," Husk said going back to Angel's question from a bit ago.
"Did I say that? Oh well, that was just an accidental mix-up," Alastor said with a sarcastic shrug.
"Sure it was," Husk responded.
"Wait so you knew he was alive this whole time?" Charlie asked going back to the point.
"Of course I did. I was nothing but interested to see how he was handling it out there, I mean he is making even more history in hell being the first and most likely only human to experience a cleanse," Alastor responded.
"Why didn't you tell us that?" Vaggie asked.
"My dear Vagatha, have you no knowledge of the entertainment industry? TO build suspense of course! How boring would it have been if I just came back and gave the news that he was still alive and most likely would have survived?"
"Probably would have been reassuring that he wasn't slaughtered," Angel said as he paused his music to make that point.
"Exactly," Vaggie said actually agreeing with Angel for once.
"Oh, I assure you, that man was not going to be slaughtered by those beings. I've seen it for myself," Alastor responded.
"Yeah again, thanks for that information NOW," Vaggie said sarcastically.
"What did you mean exactly by the last thing you said?" Charlie asked. She was referring to Alastor saying that he had seen it for himself.
"I do not believe any of you have seen that man in real action. He slaughtered several Extermination with literal ease. He literally put fear in their hearts that they didn't even bother to attack me when I was near him," Alastor responded. "Hence why there was no reason for me to tell you that he was alive since you all would find out for yourselves."
"Wait you went out there in the middle of the cleanse too?" Niffty asked.
"Indeed. Although it was only for a brief moment in time," Alastor responded.
"What the fuck, why would you even go out into the cleanse just to have a conversation with a guy WHO DOESN'T TALK," Vaggie said as she wasn't seeing the logic here.
"Dear Vagatha I appreciate your concern but I knew exactly what I was getting myself into," Alastor responded.
"It is more of the fact that you getting killed would be a terrible time for the hotel. As much as I don't like saying, you are an important piece to this hotel's future and we really need to get the ball rolling after this cleanse," Vaggie said.
"You gift me your concern and now are giving me a compliment? My, my, I don't know what to say, I am flattered," Alastor said with a big teeth smile.
"Oh shut the hell up," Vaggie said with a sigh as Alastor was someone who could always push her buttons.
That would be the last thing the Slayer could hear as he now entered his room and closed the door behind him. What a day he just had in this hell. It had been an eventful one that is for sure. He hadn't seen that much action since he embarked on his quest to kill the Dark Lord. It was definitely something he needed to get his strength back in order. He placed his shotgun on a table and went towards the mirror he had in his room. The Slayer looked at himself through the small area of glass that wasn't covered by blood. His armor definitely needed some cleaning as the green was looking very red in some places. The first thing he did was remove his helmet. He pulled it off with both hands and turned it around so the glass would face himself. He tried to just use his hands to rub the blood off but that didn't help that much. He knew he would have to do more to clean it.
He briefly looked at himself in the mirror again to see his suit better. He knew that he was going to need to take off the armor. The Slayer's praetor suit didn't come off like regular pieces of clothing, it had a lot of parts to it which is one of the reasons why he didn't like to take it off, besides the fact of always being ready for a battle. First, he removed the top chest piece which was covering his pecs and placed that aside. Next, he took off the bottom chest piece that was covering the rest of his stomach. Now his entire chest was revealed. From there came the easier things to remove which came to his gauntlets as he could just slide those off. After that, he could just take off his shoulder piece. Now he would spend some down time tending to his armor but before he did that he looked over at his arm that was cut. Now that his entire upper half was revealed he could see it better. It looked like the bleeding had stopped, now it just looked like a nasty cut on his arm that would heal up rather fast once he gained his strength back and would probably become yet another scar in his collection.
Kingdom of Hell
The door to Lucifer's study was opened and shut softly behind him. He took off his hat and placed it to the side of his desk and then leaned his apple can against a nearby bookshelf. Lucifer sat down in his chair and let out a sigh. He decided to pick up his phone and see if there were any new drastic changes in hell or any big news stories in hell. The Extermination was still occurring like usual and it was a time of confinement that he always had to find a way to pass. He started to check his phone to see what kind of things people were saying during their time of death or being locked away in their homes. One of the common things he was seeing was a lot of pictures and controversy of slain Exterminators from demons' windows. He practically raised an eyebrow at that as that was something he didn't see very often. It wasn't just one picture, it was many. He didn't feel too bad about it because he enjoyed it when something didn't go well for heaven's sake but that still was not a usual sight.
"Did the Radio Demon have himself some fun during this cleanse? Although he is not one to go outside and dare tempt fate against an entire army of Exorcists. I doubt the people of hell just rallied together to slaughter them either. I wonder what caused that?" Lucifer thought to himself.
He was just mindlessly scrolling along to see what the people of hell were saying in case someone had an answer. He closed one app and swiped through to others to find something. He was about to put his phone down until he swiped and came across something new that was never on his phone before.
"What the hell is this?" Lucifer said out loud and to himself as he looked at the four new files that resided on his phone. He peered at them hard to make sure he was seeing them right. "Where the hell did these come from? Did Vox do some technological shit and put these on here?" He said as he looked at them. They didn't have a specific name but were titled log 002, log 005, log 006 and log 007. His interest was piqued as he looked at the first file. "It's a log entry. How the fuck did someone's audio log get on my phone." Lucifer then decided he might as well hear what the audio log contained. At this point, he was prepared for that log to contain some kind of weird shit or some kind of threat someone sent him because they were too scared to say it to his face. He pressed play on the first audio file and placed his phone on the counter so he could sit back and listen.
"This is Dr. Elena Richardson, log entry 002 - subject analysis of Doom Slayer. January 24th, 2163. There is no chance that the subject is a demon - we have blood samples pulled from Mars base event that show his blood type is AB positive. He is male with a genome that makes him very much a member of the human race, but the enhanced strength, speed and athleticism would indicate otherwise. But we can see from the blood samples that there are foreign bodies present of unknown origin. I cannot as a contributing member of the scientific community agree with the assumption by some of my colleagues that he is, for lack of a better word...a God. An avenging angel - the right hand of Doom here to save humanity from its sins. But... I cannot ignore that the timing of his arrival - the identity of his enemies - the fire and brimstone element to this catastrophe we currently find ourselves in has...it-it-it has definitely shaken my scientific resolve."
Lucifer eyes were glued down to his phone and his ears were locked in at the log he just heard. "What...the hell? Was that about the...fucking human? That has to be, no one else matches that description, and the fact that these appear out of nowhere when HE appears out of nowhere is not a coincidence." Lucifer decided he would shut his trap and just listen to the other logs. He was completely invested now as it seemed like he would finally get some answers.
"This is Dr. Elena Richardson, log entry 005 - subject analysis of Doom Slayer. February 2nd, 2163. Maybe he is a God. Maybe he represents human kind's rage - their will to persevere, to overcome that which would threaten our survival. He is uncompromising, a relentless being of violence that knows no mention of the hesitation shown by our many leaders and politicians during our time of judgement. Can he overcome them? Alone? If he can't - we, as a species, ALL species, will not survive."
"Elena Richardson, log entry 006. February 9th, 2163. The only thing they fear - is him. We watched as the horde overwhelmed the very best and most advanced machinery and weapons technology that we could muster against the opposition. It was useless, they moved too quickly, they cared not for themselves, only sought out the blood of humanity. They were willing to sacrifice their own to get to the heart of our world. We slaughtered thousands and millions more followed, but then he came - he cut through them like...like a sickle through a field - his fury surpassing their own. He is faster - more relentless. I believe him now to be more than just a man - he is...DOOM."
"This is Dr. Elena Richardson, log entry 007. March 3rd, 2163. And with him lies our salvation. For as he gains in strength so do they fall in numbers. The Priests command the armies to the North and South, but he controls the fight. The inner circle of death is where he resides - hunting them at the far reaches of the earth and beyond. I am a believer now - I feel it is in DOOM that I have faith. The Slayer is the spear that stabs at the heart of our attackers, and those that would seek to harm us should feel warned - for there is only one dominant life form in this universe and it carries a steel barreled sword of vengeance. All hail the coming of the Destroyer - the Slayer's time is now."
Lucifer picked up his phone again to make sure that was the last one and it was. He was trying to find a way to process this information as it was definitely a lot. Somehow, he obtained these audio logs that HAD to be about the human. He began to rub his chin as he was thinking of the things said about this human. At this point in time, he had only one thought and one thought only. "He is called the Doom Slayer...what kind of human is this?"
