Summary: Lea's pregnancy brain causes her to have an embarrassing moment at work. Set sometime after "The Good Lawyer".

It was a beautiful sunny day in the mid-end of May for a morning of raisin bran cereal and chocolate chip berry pancake breakfast on the porch. This time, Lea did not make a mistake with the food.

It had been a week since the trial, and thankfully, Shaun didn't lose the lawsuit, thanks to Joni. However, he didn't want to go through the Hell of being sued for malpractice ever again, especially at the worst time when he had a baby on the way.

At 30 weeks pregnant, Lea's womb was getting crowded for Peanut. His kicks were becoming more aggressive. Her breasts were also sore since they were gearing up for milk production. Heartburn also made it feel like she had a flamethrower in her chest.

With Peanut Day being ten weeks away, Shaun and Lea prepared for their upcoming baby shower and first wedding anniversary and mentally prepared themselves for the birth. While Lea was focused on breathing techniques and figuring out methods to keep calm, Shaun focused on getting prepared for everything that could go wrong during labor.

Other than all of that, preggo brain had been affecting Lea since the beginning of this pregnancy. Sure, it did during her previous one as well, but it wasn't until this one that it got severe at some times.

Two days ago, Lea poured orange juice into her cereal instead of milk, and she didn't realize it until she tasted it. That same day, she walked out of their apartment without pants on.

"So, what should we do for our first wedding anniversary? Dinner? Karaoke?" Lea asked Shaun as she cut up her pancakes. "This will be our only pre-Peanut anniversary. Our next 10-12 anniversary plans will involve looking for babysitters."

"Mm," Shaun shrugged, grabbing his glass of milk to drink it.

Lea thought for a minute before suggesting something. "How about just you and me at home with a nice dinner and a movie with popcorn? Would that work?"

"I like that idea very much," smiled Shaun, reaching out to touch Lea's belly and kiss her. "Would you like to do karaoke?" He asked after he pulled away.

"I would love that," breathed Lea happily. "But, I had more in mind of something like not going out."

"I meant karaoke at home," specified Shaun. "We would just put on karaoke versions of songs and we'll sing along. Just the two of us."

"Oh," said Lea, loving any idea of peace and quiet with just her and Shaun at home. After all, once Peanut is born, they weren't going to be getting a lot of that. "I would love that."

Later on, as Shaun and Lea were walking up towards the hospital doors near the cafe for work, they went for their purses and pockets to retrieve their ID badges.

While Shaun quickly pulled his out from his pocket and clipped it to his shirt, Lea was still fumbling through her purse for hers.

"Shit," vented Lea, frantically scrummaging through her purse. "I forgot my ID badge!"

"Lea," Shaun tried to calm his wife down.

"Fuck! Again!" She shouted, throwing her purse to the ground, the sidewalk surrounded by receipts, mascara, lipstick, tissues, mints, morning sickness drops, and coins. "Stupid preggo brain!"

"Lea."

Lea collapsed to the ground (as fast as her pregnant belly would let her), surrounded by all the junk from her purse. She sobbed uncontrollably as she viewed the mess around her. It wasn't long before everyone around them was staring at them - Andrea the security guard, Dr. Andrews, Nurse Villanueva, the people in the cafeteria.

Dr. Andrews looked like he was trying not to laugh while Shaun just stood there next to his sobbing wife, trying to get her to notice something.

"Lea, your ID badge is on your jacket," he pointed out, trying to stop the scene.

Lea suddenly stopped crying when she looked down and noticed her ID badge clipped onto her jacket, feeling so silly and embarrassed. She sighed in humiliation.

"Forgetfulness is common during pregnancy," reminded Shaun for the umpteenth time as he kneeled down next to Lea to help her pick up the contents of her purse.

She had a lot of preggo brain moments, but none of them were as embarrassing as this one. She had written emails without sending them, left the sink on, left her keys in the fridge, turned off the car before putting it in park, and even poured orange juice into her cereal.

"I know," sniffed Lea, relieved when the crowd stopped staring at her and went back to what they were doing. "I just wish this one didn't have to be in public or in front of my boss."

Once Shaun and Lea cleaned up the mess, Shaun helped Lea to her feet as soon as he stood up.

When Shaun and Lea were inside the building, Dr. Andrews walked up to both of them and smiled at the expectant couple.

Please don't fire me or write me up for this, hoped Lea, as she had snapped at some of her employees recently when she lost patience with them. Some of them actually went to Andrews and complained about it.

"It's okay," he whispered, gently patting Lea's shoulder. "My sister had worse moments when she was pregnant."
