(In Trouble)

Both Ellie and Enid were brought into the Sergeant's office, which was something that wasn't new for the two of them. They sat down in wooden chairs that sat in front of his desk.

He began reading from their files, "Let's see… fighting, theft, running away. More fighting, disobeying orders, and stabbing a kid in the knee with a compass…"

Meanwhile, Ellie and Enid were only half listening to what he was saying. Ellie was rubbing her nose and Enid was fidgeting with her fingers.

When he was finished reading in their files, he loudly shut it and clasped his hands together on top of it. "What do you two have to say for yourselves?" he asked them sternly.

They didn't respond to him. All they did was stare up at him, completely silent.

He sighed in annoyance and got up from his desk. "Do you two know what stands between the infected and the strugglers living in this city? Enid, you been here for 2 years, so you oughta know the answer,"

Enid rolled her eyes, already annoyed with how he sounded. "Let me guess, a concrete wall?" Ellie asked smugly. Enid recognized Ellie's rebel attitude right away. It was still very much there.

Sergeant didn't take this lightly though. "No, it's me! Not just me, but every soldier who puts their life on the line for you people! We keep the order that saves your lives. If it wasn't for us, every fucking human would be infected!" He shouted at them, pointing a finger at himself.

Enid leaned back against the chair and crossed her arms. "Is that the Fireflies' job?" She asked smartly.

"Yes, the Fireflies. The entire fucking city acts like they're the second coming. Just like that goddamn renegade group, we're the ones to protect you people from everything out there," the general said, putting his hands behind his back.

"Do you two think that those killers are our salvation?" he asked, lowering his voice. It was as if he wanted them to admit that he was right about what he was saying. But neither Ellie nor Enid were smart enough to not give into what this asshole wanted.

"No, we don't think about them," Ellie said, breaking eye contact with him. "Well, it's about time you two start," the sergeant said, getting into Ellie's face. Enid wasn't having it though and she said, "Okay, you got your answer. What more do you want?"

These two just can't stay out of trouble, can they? Lol
