Iyan woke up from the bed as dawn arrived at the kingdom. Then he started preparing to go to the adventurer guild. His preparations didn't take long since it was just tidying the uniform and checking the money bag.

To tidying his clothes, Iyan bought the Koishi's clothes with the point he earned from killing the wolf. Then transformed into Koishi and immediately goes back to himself. After that, his uniform would be automatically cleaned and neat.

Then Iyan reached into his pants pocket to check for his money bag. After making sure his bag was still in his pocket he then went downstairs.

When Iyan arrived on the first floor, he smelled a delicious smell coming from the dining room. His stomach growled in reaction to that scent. Since Iyan was in no rush to go to the guild, he decided to go to the dining hall first.

Inside the dining room, Iyan noticed that all of the tables were empty, except for one. Seated at that table was the Inn's receptionist from the yesterday evening. On the table there was a lot of food that looked delicious, making Iyan's stomach growl even more. When the receptionist saw Iyan, he waved his hand toward him.

"You must be hungry, come here no need to be shy."

Accepting the invitation Iyan sat across the receptionist, "Is this free?"

"Yes, you can eat it without worry."

"Really, thanks!"

Then Iyan ate the food on the table happily without worries. The receptionist smile looking at Iyan appetite.

"Is the food delicious?"

"It is! I've never eaten anything tastier than this, especially this meat. What kind of meat is this?"

"Oh, I'm glad that you like it. That meat came from a rock sheep. It has a hard fur, but their meat is tender and delicious even without spices."

"Even with no spices?!"

"Yes, aren't they amazing!"

"Wow! Hey, if I have the raw meat, can I get you to cook it for me?"

"Well, as long as you pay me 1 silver coin."

"Deal!"

Then Iyan continue eating his meal happily again.

After watching Iyan's eating for awhile, the receptionist asked him again, "You must be a traveler, right?"

"Well…" Iyan weighed between lying or telling the truth. Remembering he lack merit now, he decided it was better to lie for now. "Yes, I am a traveler."

"Then you must have eaten a lot of food on your trip. Can I know what kind of food that you find delicious? I need a reference for my new recipe."

"Eh… Err… I think ramen is good?"

"Ramen? What is that?"

"Damn, I forgot this is another world. No one must have invented Ramen yet." Iyan panicked. "Ah, Uhm… Do you know what a noodle is?"

"Oh, I know that. Noodles are food made from wheat dough, a popular food in the south. Is your 'Ramen' the same thing?"

"Yeah, that! At my place, we call noodles Ramen."

"Wow, you came from that far?! Amazing! Since you coming from a far place, can I know your impression about our kingdom."

"Well, I haven't stayed long in this I can say that this place is nice. Though the adventurer guild was much emptier than I thought."

"Ahaha, yes. Our kingdom is not the best place for adventurers, not many citizens submit quests to the adventurer guild. So many adventurer left this kingdom because of that."

"Wait, what?! Is that true?"

"Yes,"

"So that means there are only a handful of quests in the adventurer guild now."

"It may be no request too."

"Damn," Iyan immediately stopped eating and stood up, "I'm sorry to not eat all of the food, but I must hurry to go to the adventurer guild."

"Oh it's ok. You don't have to worry about it, just go."

"Thanks, bye."

With that said, Iyan left the dining room and ran toward the adventurer guild.

When Iyan arrived at the guild, he opened the guild door. As usual, there was no one at the guild except for Lillia, who was behind the reception desk. Iyan ignored her presence and went straight to the search board. As soon as Iyan saw the board, he was stunned.

"Tough luck, kid. The last quest has been taken by "James's party." Lillia said.

"James? Who is that?"

"Hmm, did you two forget to introduce each other yesterday? Well, the guy who laughed at you yesterday is named James."

"Hm… So that the old man's name." Iyan mumbled. "Can you tell me what monster he needs to subdue?"

"Why?"

"Since he hasn't completed it, I want to do the same quest."

Lillia sighed hearing Iyan answer, "You really are the worst. Do you know what you have said?"

"Eh...What I can't do that?"

Lillia slammed the desk hard, creating cracks on it, "What you just said is that you think they are far inferior to you, and you can clear the quest faster than them. Did you think other adventurers are as stupid as you?! Someone who never calculates the risk before accepting a quest! Is that what you want to say, you little shit!"

Iyan was shocked and terrified by Lillia's action. Then, after he fully processed what she just said, he regretted asking that question.

"You're right! I guess I'm too excited being an adventurer. I'm sorry!"

He bowed down toward Lillia.

Seeing Iyan bowing down made Lillia's mood improved, "It is good that you have realized your mistake. I will keep this conversation a secret to others, but please don't do this ever again."

"I won't!"

"That's great! Now, instead of asking for a quest that did not exist, how about you increase your knowledge by reading the book on the second floor? It could tell you a lot about the guild rules, monsters, and gathering quest tips, or you could buy a weapon. I bet you still don't have one, now."

"You are right! I think I will find a weapon for myself first."

Iyan turned around and left the adventurer, only to shortly goes back inside, "Uhm… do you know where I can buy a weapon?"

Lillia sighed, "Go right after you exited the guild until you found a building with a sword and anvil in the hanging sign."

"Thanks,"

Iyan left the guild again. This time, he was not coming back again.

While on the way toward the place that Lillia directed, Iyan cursed at himself for what he had done earlier.

"The heck am I thinking?! Why do I get overexcited like that?! Even with many isekai stories I have read, I never read a story about the MC stealing other people's quest! Arrrgghh….. why did I ask that?!"

He wanted to scream, but with many people around him, it would be too embarrassing to do that. So he quietly walked until he found the building that referred by Lillia.

The building in front of him is a 2-story building with a hanging sign above the door. Peeking from the window, he saw many spears, swords, and hammers neatly arranged in their respective sections. All the weapons in the shop look standard and plain. There are no different designs for each type of weapon.

Iyan was dissapointed by the weapon shop in front of him. He wanted to experience a MC-like event where he would receive a unique weapon from the dwarf. But with how plain the goods inside the shop were and the lack of clanging hammers, he was certain that the owner was not a dwarf. Even so, Iyan still entered the shop because he needed a weapon.

"Welcome. Choose whatever weapon you want without bothering me." The shopkeeper lazily said.

Iyan's disappointment increased after hearing the shopkeeper's lazy tone. Since the shopkeeper was not a dwarf, and only plain weapons were displayed in this shop, he decided to choose a weapon as quickly as possible and then left the shop.

Iyan stepped over to the section where the hammer was displayed. The reason he chose a hammer over a sword was because he wanted to have an alibi when killing monsters. With the hammer, any damage inflicted on the monster would match with Iyan's Youkai transformation. This way he would have an excuse that would believable enough to avert suspicion from the guild staff and show legitimacy that it was he who killed the monster.

Iyan casually tried to lift one of the hammers and was surprised when he could do it.

"Eh?! I can lift this with my low status?" Iyan said.

The hammer he took has the same length as Iyan's sole foot until his knees. The material of this hammer seems to be made entirely of iron, including the hammerhead, whose diameter is about two times larger than his clenched hand. He became confused as to how he could lift the hammer.

"Oi, are you going to buy that or just want to look at it?" The shopkeeper said.

Hearing this made Iyan decide to choose this hammer. Even though he has a doubt about this hammer, but since he only needs a weapon as an alibi, he decides to ignore it. Then he took the hammer to the shopkeeper's counter.

"How much for this hammer?" Iyan asked.

"1 Gold coins."

Then Iyan took out a single gold coin from his magic bag.

"Thank you," The shopkeeper took the single gold coin from Iyan's hand. "Now, leave."

Iyan wanted to complain but decided not to since it would just be a waste of time dealing with side characters. So he left the weapons shop.

After acquiring a weapon, Iyan wondered what to do next. His initial plan was to complete his first quest from the guild. Unfortunately, there were no more quests left at the adventurer's guild.

Then Iyan thought that maybe he could raise his level. But he remembered that the only Youkai he could rely on right now was Rumia. Hence, he had no choice but to wait until nightfall before doing that.

However, instead of waiting until nightfall, Iyan started his journey into the wolf forest. The reason Iyan choose the wolf forest instead of looking for enemies in the nearby forest was because of the simple conclusion he made.

That reason was, "If there were no quests in the guild, then it must mean that there would be fewer monsters near the kingdom compared to the Wolf Forest".

He arrived safely at the wolf forest in the afternoon. Like before, he traveled to this forest as Star Sapphire to avoid meeting adventurers. Since it was still quite some time before nightfall, Iyan decided to visit the Holy Sword again.

As usual, the sword was firmly planted in the center of the abandoned town. This time, the fairy was not invisible.

When the fairy saw Star Sapphire again, she greeted her, "Oh, we meet again, strange fairy."

"Haha, you know I'm not a fairy, right?"

"Well, Aren't you a fairy now?"

"Hmm, I guess you are right. I'm a fairy now."

Then they laughed.

"So, do you want to try to lift the sword again?"

"Maybe not now, but I will try again after leveling up first."

"Oh, you are going to hunt the monster around here?"

"Yes,"

"Then make sure to avoid the thunder deer or the fire bear. They are the most dangerous monsters around here."

"Oh, that sounds like a great monster for me to farm EXP."

"What?! Did you not hear what I say?"

"Yes, I do, but I'm confident I could beat them up."

The fairy sighed, "I don't know where your overconfidence came from, but please be careful when hunting them."

"Yeah, yeah, I believe you," Iyan dismissed the fairy warning. "By the way, can I know the name of this sword?"

"Isn't it too late to ask for that?"

"Well, since I maybe could lift you after leveling up. I want to know what should I call this sword?"

"Wow, your delusion is as high as your confidence," The fairy laughed. "Anyway, this sword doesn't have a name. The name of this sword will be decided by the one who managed to lift it. So maybe I can ask you what this sword's name is in advance?"

"Excalibur. That will be the sword's name once I lift it."

"Fufufu, that quite a weird name,"

"That a legendary sword name in my world."

"Oh, then I guess that quite a good name."

"Why you suddenly accept it now?!"

"Haha, I'm sorry. Anyway, I wish you a good luck with your leveling. Remember to be careful since you cannot lift this sword if you dying."

"Yes, next time you see me, I will lift this sword from the ground."

Still in Star form, Iyan left the sword and went inside the nearby building. Then he goes back to himself and slept until night came.

In the evening, Iyan started his preparations to hunt a monster. The first thing he did after leaving the house was transform into Star Sapphire. With the help of Star's passive skill, Iyan found three wolves not far from him. Then he flew closer to the three wolves, and after getting close enough to those three wolves, Iyan detected that they were now moving toward him.

"Are they can smell me?" Iyan wondered, "Whatever, it's a good thing that they come to me."

After that, Iyan turned into Rumia. Then he sat on a branch while waiting for the wolf to come to him. Not long after transforming into Rumia, The three wolves reached Iyan's location. Then, they immediately growled at Iyan.

"Now I'm certain that they can smell me," Iyan sighed, "If only Koishi can kill an animal, then it will be easier for me to kill them. But whatever."

Then Iyan jumped from the tree branch and immediately aimed his fist at one of the wolves. The wolf was suprised by Iyan's sudden attack towards him, and it failed to react timely. He was hit in the spine until it broke, then immediately died on the spot.

Not stopping after hitting one wolf, Iyan turned around and planned to punch another wolf.

The second wolf responded well to his attack. Because Iyan's attack was quite simple – only rushed straight – the wolf reacted by dodging to the side and trying to counterattack by biting Iyan's body.

Unfortunately for the wolf, instead making Iyan body bleeding his body got tangled up with Iyan momentum and fell because he lost his balance.

Not wasting the opportunity, Iyan hit the wolf's head until it died.

Seeing the dead of the previous two wolf, the third wolf ran fast to escape from Iyan.

"Wait, don't run away! My experience!"

Then, Iyan chased the running wolf. Iyan's flying speed may be faster than the running wolf, but the wolf is more agile in navigating in the forest. Even though Iyan recklessly charged and destroyed many tree branches to get to the wolf, he failed to get close to it.

"Ha….Ha….Damn that wolf fast."

Iyan panted for a moment, and then, he sat down to recover his stamina. He was not expecting that a monster would run away, and not recklessly charged at him, so he chased it quite far. Now, he was regretted doing that, since it was quite hurt when he tried to destroy a thick branch with his body. Fortunately, with Youkai regeneration his body was recovering from it.

After he regained his stamina, he continued his hunt again. When he transformed into Star, he detected two packs of wolves. The first pack had five wolves in them, while the other had ten of them. Due to his success in fighting three wolves without any injuries, Iyan decided to fight a pack of ten wolves.

Just like before, Iyan had no problem fighting the pack of wolves. This pack had better attack coordination than the previous three wolves. But, it was useless because none of their claws or bites could hurt Iyan.

"Hahaha, C'mon, is this all you guys can do?!" Iyan taunted maniacally toward the wolf.

Undeterred by Iyan's taunts, the wolf pack decided to flee after three wolves are killed by Iyan.

"Damn it, again!"

This time, Iyan didn't chase them. He knew he wouldn't be able to catch even one of the wolves that were running away. So, he decided to look at his status rather than doing that.

"Status Open"

Name : Rumia
Race : Youkai
Level : 1
MP : 1550/1550
AGI : 95
STR : 123
MAG : 115
INT : 103
LUCK : 89
PHY Def : 454
MGC Def : 117

"Eh,"

Iyan rubbed his eyes while wishing he had seen wrong. After opening his eyes, he saw the status panel did not change.

"EH! what the hell! I've already killed five wolves! Why is my level still at 1? Ugh…"

Iyan took a deep breath to calm himself. Even though he was furious about it, there was nothing he could do about it. So he decided to start hunting again.

Iyan transformed into Star again to detect another monster nearby. His detection skill noticed a large-sized monster not far from his location. Attracted by the fairy's words about the thunder deer and the fire bear, he approached the detected monster.

Following his detection skill, Iyan arrived at a large meadow. There, not far from the forest, he saw a large deer eating grass peacefully.

"Is that the thunder deer the fairy mentioned?" Iyan wondered.

When Iyan saw the deer, he could understand why the fairy said to be careful. With the deer's size as big as a jeep and its big antlers, it is much more accurate to call it a moose than a deer. At its antler, sometimes he saw there was an electrical jump from one antler to another.

"Ugh… Should I do it?" He opened his status panel, and then he remembered his fight against the wolf, "Damn it, I guess I had no choice if I want to level up fast."

Then, Iyan prepared to fight the deer by transforming into Rumia.

Learning from his previous fight against the wolves, Iyan flies high to avoid being detected by the deer due to his smell. Once he was right above the deer, he did a free fall with his feet pointing toward the deer.

Unfortunately for Iyan, the deer's reflexes are much better than wolves. When Iyan was about to hit the deer, it moved to the side and narrowly avoided his attack. Then, the deer counterattacked by launching him far away with a headbutt.

After the headbutt, the deer planned to zap Iyan with lightning magic. However, not knowing Youkai's resilience against physical attack, the deer headbutted at Iyan's body too hard, causing it to stagger by the headache.

Iyan, who got knocked out by the deer, woke up after a few seconds passed. After waking up, he was shocked by how far the deer had launched him.

"Tch, I guess I underestimated it too much. Thank goodness, I have transformed into Rumia. I would probably have died if I'm not Rumia."

After the deer recovered from the headache, it immediately shot lightning magic from its antler at Iyan.

"Hiiii!" Iyan screamed while jumping away from the lightning direction.

The deer continued to shoot its lightning magic, while Iyan, the target of the deer's magic, desperately avoided it. This situation lasted until a roar came from inside the forest.

After the roar, a red-furred bear with a size that was slightly larger than a deer came out of the forest. Seeing the bear made Iyan panic. He guessed that the bear must be the fire bear that the fairy told him about before.

From most of the Isekai novels he read, every time a new enemy boss appeared, it meant they would team up to try to kill the MC. He maybe wanted to have an MC-like event, but this one was not what he wanted. He doubted that he could defeat the deer, but now that the firebear bear appeared, there was no way he could beat any of them. So he immediately thought about how to run away.

Fortunately, the bear didn't team up with the deer to attack him. Instead, the bear ignored Iyan and charged at the deer. The deer stopped firing magic at Iyan and changed its aim to the bear.

"Oh, nice! Now, I only need to wait until they are tired."

The fight between deer and bears was quite fierce. The bear, which seemed to have resistance to lightning magic, continued to run towards the deer without caring about the deer's magic.

When the bear was close to the deer, the bear started trying to hurt the deer with its claws, but the deer nimbly avoided the bear's claws.

The bear's attacks didn't stop after that. It immediately shot fire magic from his mouth and managed to scratch the deer with that magic.

"Oh, nice one, bear!" Iyan cheered at the bear.

The deer, knowing that its magic was ineffective, decided to change his attack. The deer charged itself with electricity and then ram the bear.

Even though the deer exerted the same strength as when it counterattacked Iyan, the bear was not thrown as far as Iyan because of its considerable weight.

The bear roared in pain from the attack. He then tried to counterattack by slashing the deer, but it failed to hit the deer again.

"Wow, that deer is nimble! Now, I realize how stupid I am trying to attack with my simple attack."

After their fight lasted for several minutes, Iyan saw the movements of the deer, and the bear became sluggish. Seeing this opportunity, Iyan decided to join their fight and target the deer.

The reason he chose to attack the deer was because the deer relied more on magic than the bear which relied on its physical abilities. He must eliminate the deer before the bear since Youkai was much more vulnerable to magic than physical attacks.

Iyan attacked the deer with his flying kick. Amidst his attack, he felt a strange power rise within him. He feels the power makes him move faster and his attack much more stronger.

The deer, exhausted from fighting the bear, was unable to avoid Iyan's attack that got powered up. It then got hit in the body and bounced quite far until it immediately died.

Then Iyan did the same thing to the bear, and he experienced another weird situation. The bear saw the attack, but it did not try to dodge or defend itself. Instead, the bear looked like it wanted to die and offered its head to Iyan. Iyan didn't stop attacking and still killed the bear despite that, since he wanted to level up.

"Why did I suddenly go faster? Why the bear did not even try to fight back?"

That was what came to his mind after killing the bear and the deer. Although he was grateful for that, he had a feeling that something bad would happen to him.

Clap, clap, clap.

Iyan heard something clapping behind him. When he turned around his body shook by what he saw.

"Congratulations, for increasing your level." It said while still clapping.
