The Room, Unslept in

A/N: Time for Chapter 11! Those two months were agony for both Tony & Angela. Find out in this new chapter of The Room, Unslept In what happened after Tony and Angela reunited. We sure missed out on what could've been a wonderful fourth part of Savor the Veal. I hope this lives up to your expectations.

PS – I don't own any of the characters from Who's the Boss? I also don't own the song(s) I use in this story. I also don't own the dialogue I sometimes use in the chapters. I've tried to pick songs that remind me of Tony & Angela and their relationship. If you'd like to hear them, check out YouTube – you can find just about everything there.

Chapter 11: Riunione di Famiglia – Part 1

"Good night, Sam. Thank you for coming home with me tonight," Tony kissed his daughter on her cheek before she started to walk over to Hank. "Hank, thanks for picking us up on such short notice," Tony added.

"Happy to, Tony," Hank answered shaking Tony's hand with a sincere "Welcome home."

"Good luck, Dad," Sam added, raising both hands and crossing her fingers in a good luck wish to him. Samantha and Hank went back to their apartment leaving only Tony to walk to the front of the house.

Tony took a whiff of the night air basking in the cool breeze he felt. He missed the smell of the ocean so close by. Fairfield had the smell of east coast ocean, he decided. Tony slowly walked around the driveway and front path taking in the house and trees that he hadn't seen in over two months. As he got to the front, he noticed a piece of the trellis getting loose. He made a mental note to fix it. He smiled at the bench as he approached it remembering all the times he and Angela sat there talking about their future together.

Tony finally reached the front door and dipped his hand into his pocket for the housekey. Not feeling it, he realized it was back in Iowa with the rest of his keys. He'd only taken the key to the Jeep and his apartment to the banquet due to the small pockets the tuxedo had.

Then he stood there for a few moments. All the emotions were catching up with him slowly comprehending that he hadn't seen her, heard her voice - except in his mind - or touched her in two months.

He took a deep breath, exhaled, and put his finger to the doorbell and pressed it all the way in ensuring it would ring. Then he stood there waiting …

When their lips parted, neither of them could believe the other was standing in front of the other. They tried to kiss the two months away in a few minutes, but obviously that wasn't going to be possible. The towel in her hair slowly fell off and wound up on the floor. She attempted to bend down to pick it up, but Tony had other ideas.

She hesitated as he gently tugged her towards the stairs. The impact of what was happening was not lost on her, she knew she had to tell Tony a few things before they went any further.

"Angela, come on up with me. I can't wait another minute to be with you again." Tony implored her to move towards the stairs.

"Wait, I need to tell you something," Angela tried to convince him to stop walking towards the stairs.

"Ange, it can wait. I can't," Tony pleaded to Angela impatiently.

"I've noticed," she said looking down, a coy smile growing on her face.

Tony turned a slight shade of pink telling her that he'd been without her for two months, so he couldn't control what certain parts of his body did in her presence. Angela giggled and shrugged her shoulders.

She couldn't resist his tugging any longer, so she joined her hand in his outstretched hand and started up the steps with him. She switched the light off as they went upstairs.

After reaching the landing together, they stopped in front of their bedroom's partially closed door. He reached down to pick her up. He wanted to carry her over their renovated bedroom's threshold. He noticed she seemed a little heavier than he remembered but chalked it up to all the fried foods she'd been eating because of Marge over the past weeks. His mind momentarily wandered to plates filled with all that fried food Samantha had described to him the day before. Yuck, he had to shake that image out of his head.

"Tony, I haven't slept in this room yet," Angela shockingly blurted out as Tony walked into the room with her. He turned on the light to brighten the room a little. He walked over to the bed with Angela still in his arms trying to take in what she had just told him. Still in disbelief, he sat down on their bed facing the fireplace with Angela in his arms and on his lap.

Delaying any questioning about what Angela had just told him, he breathed into her ear and instead whispered to her, "Ay oh, ay … who said anything about sleeping?" Now it was Angela's turn for her face to turn red.

Angela had left the CD player on when she went downstairs to answer the door. Low music was still playing in the background. The two of them didn't notice the music as they were completely wrapped up in each other. Angela had both of her arms around his neck, and Tony filled her face with kisses.

Angela tried to pull away from Tony's kisses, but her efforts weren't going well. However, she had news to deliver. "Tony, Tony. I need to talk to you about something." As difficult as it was to separate, Angela finally pulled away and stood up. She turned around and walked in between his legs. He put his hands at her side holding her at her waist.

"Angela, let me say something first." He hesitated but then went on. "Angela. I know we have plenty to talk about, but I want to say something first."

Remembering how she wanted Tony to go first in declaring their love for each other, she stopped talking for a moment to let him speak.

"I told you before that when I thought about my future, you're in it. The teaching, the coaching, everything out there was better because of you being out in Iowa with me. I love you so much. I missed you so much when you left. I need you in my life – always. I don't want to live without you...," and then Angela started to speak.

"Without us," Angela gently corrected him.

"Marone a mi, l … of course, yeah I meant Jonathan and Mona, too."

"No, "us." Angela said. That's when he noticed a certain mystery in her voice and a glow in her eyes he hadn't seen before when she looked at him when they first came into this room.

"Tony's there's something I have to tell you now – it's important," Angela began seriously. She was making him nervous not knowing what couldn't wait until the morning to talk about. She put her hands on his arms, bent her head down, and pecked his lips. Then she continued...

"Remember our talk back when I first moved out to Iowa? Remember we were talking about babies? Remember what we did with some pills back in January?" Angela rapidly quizzed Tony. He looked up at her with furrowed lines in his forehead, wondering where she was going with this.

She untied the knot of her pink bathrobe revealing a knee-length pink camisole-style nightgown with ribbed spaghetti straps. Tony noticed some changes to her figure, namely a little more cleavage than he was used to seeing. She took his hands and slowly moved them over her abdomen. He felt a slight bump.

He looked up at her, his mouth agape, in utter amazement. His hands fell to his lap. He tentatively asked, "Angela, are you pregnant?" slowly understanding what was so critical to talk about in this moment. She quietly nodded and murmured an mmmhmm to him.

"But how, but when … oh, wow." Tony tried to stand up but couldn't. So, he reached out to touch the same area that Angela had just brought his hands to. Then she bent her head down for the kiss Tony was reaching up to give her. "Oh, Tony," she said full of love." Then she uttered those special words into Tony's ears in a whisper, "I always knew you'd do big and important things."

Tony was still taking in the news Angela had just told him. His mind was spinning, but Angela had different ideas right now. She started yanking at Tony's bowtie to loosen it. "Tony, you know you're wearing too many things right now, don't you? I got the bow tie, but you're going to have to help me out here with the other clothes." Tony could see her mind was focused only on one thing now, so he did what she asked of him and helped her with his clothes.

In the background, Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson were singing at a very low but discernible volume Lost Inside of You … and two months of angst, loneliness, missed friendship, and the desperation of missing each other slowly melted away.

Time has come again
And love is in the wind
Like some music in a dream
You made them all come true

When you came inside of my life
Now I'm lost
Inside of you
Lost in the music
And lost in your eyes

I could spend all of my time
Hearing songs you sing
Hearing songs you sing
Feeling love you bring to me

Darling being close to you
Made all my dreams come true
When you came inside my life
Now I'm lost inside of you

And what a night it was. Angela had never felt such passion in her life. It could've been from not being with each other for two months or the hormones from the pregnancy but was probably a combination of both. All she felt was a sense of comfort and permanency come over her. She knew from this point on they'd always be together. No more starts and stops. No more long separations. And then she did something she hadn't done since before her bedroom was renovated – she fell asleep in her own bed in the arms of the man she desperately loved.

The End – Chapter 11 of The Room, Unslept In – Riunione di Famiglia – Part 1

A/N: I left out the part when Angela opened the door to Tony since that was the one thing the writers did give us. I wanted to focus on all the stuff that came afterwards. Interestingly, based on the title of this story, I could've ended it right here, but there is still more to this story I wanted to write about, so …

Part 2 of this story, Chapter 12, is coming soon….
