Chapter 22, Sudden Change in Plans
A/N: Hey guys! So this chapter features the plot of FightersZ cause...well I really like 21 ok! Anyway it will have it's twists as well as a setup for something that I truly believe you all will enjoy! So stick around for that. Otherwise, here is Chapter the new arc!
21 was barely conscious as her soul changed and shifted. The blackness in her soul shifted and eventually disappeared further within her as she could barely hear a thing, nor could she remember what lead up to this moment as her soul threatened to rip apart for no known reason
"...Hey...is she...who knows...get her to the..." 21 heard in spaces as she could feel her body being picked up by someone
After half a minute 21 could feel her body be set down onto a cold metal table. A strange mask was connected to her face, and she was poked by a few wires that pierced her skin
"This might help her...no choice...what can we lose..?" 21 heard before she felt something enter her very being. Something invaded her body, it was strange and unfamiliar, yet warm and pleasant
After a while 21 passed out cold, throwing her out of the land of the living as she rested
21 later awoke to see a large green bug-like creature leaning against the a wall. He was humanoid in a way, yet the wings and crown immediately stuck out to the scientist. But next to him was someone who was in a strange green outfit, and looked very familiar
"G-Gebo?" She said oddly as she slowly got up from the table, her head in a slight pain and her chest palpitated. Besides her was a strange square machine with a few wires on it, as well as an odd mask that hung over it
"Greetings 21. You have finally awoken." Gebo said as he walked forward to greet his mother rather strangely
"21? What do you mean?" She said as the bug-like man perked up. He stared at her intensively for a second before looking at Gebo with a frown
"16, ask her a few questions." The man said as Gebo turned around to face 21
"Very well. 21, what is my name?"
"It's Gebo? What else would it be?" 21 said as she looked around the empty room. There was a white door a couple of feet in front of her and to her left there was a one way mirror. "What...is this place?"
"I see what you mean Cell. 21, what is the last thing you remember?" Gebo said as 21 tried to recall her memories
"Well...I remember I was turned into an Android in an experiment with the Army. But a few minutes ago we found a new source of DNA. I planned on reworking myself...and then it all goes blank." 21 said as the green man chuckled
"Of course! She lost her memories as well. She probably doesn't remember much after she was tampered with." He said as he walked a few feet forward
"Then allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cell, and I am one of Dr. Gero's creations. A being comprised of all the greatest warriors. I'm sure you have heard of me." Cell greeted as he did his signature bow
21 couldn't recall him. She did, however, recall hearing that her husband wanted to create a being made up of many different people
"Guess he really did make that a reality." She thought. When or how was the question
"This right here is Android 16, a creation of the late Dr. and a mere copy of the once Gebo Gero." Cell continued as he put a hand over 16's shoulder
"Wait you're not...oh...he died." 21 sighed sadly. How could she have forgotten? Gebo died in an explosion on one of the more important bases of the RR, she read the report
"So, with that out of the way we should catch you up to speed." Cell cleared his throat. "You see currently we're in the middle of one of your plans. You activated a machine that suppresses power levels and also revived every warrior that has ever died, scattering them across the globe. Every invader that has ever showed up is currently causing mayhem as we speak, and you even sent drones to do the same too." Cell quickly recapped as 21 was surprised
"I did all that?"
"With my help, of course."
"With that in mind, what is our next course of action?" 16 questioned blankly
"I-I don't know. Just a second ago I was in a room full of scientists and now I'm here." 21 said in confusion. "Where is the rest of the army?"
"We do not know. As of yet you have been working entirely separate from the Army." 16 informed. "Might I suggest reverting your past actions? We could save this world from soon-to-be chaos. With the amount of villains revived this planet will surly fall without our interference." 16 said as Cell chuckled
"You say that because you still like this planet. Not to mention Bulma changed your priorities." He remarked as 16 glared at Cell
"My priorities may have changed, but I am still under orders from 21." He defended himself as Cell sighed
"Well whatever you chose I'll be there to help." Cell offered 21 as 16 eyed him with a confused expression
21 was stuck in thought as she took in the information. Not only had she missed out on so much but she was in the middle of a crisis. She had to do something if she wanted to keep Earth intact. Why she would ever cause such a mess was beyond her, but something told her that she was missing on far too much context
"...We'll reverse everything." 21 finally declared as Cell sighed in defeat
"Very well then. 16, check the machine to see if you can do anything. I seriously doubt 21 will be able to do much at the moment." Cell said as 16 nodded along. 16 walked out of the hallway, followed by Cell, who stopped just before the door
"Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention a small detail."
"What is it?"
"You see in an attempt to stop your soul from ripping apart we implemented a foreign soul into your own. Why or how your soul itself was in danger is beyond us, but you might want to address your new guest." Cell informed as he finally left the room, leaving 21 in minor shock
"A foreign soul?" 21 questioned aloud as she tried to sense her ki. She wasn't really good at it, since the only thing that changed was her power output ever since she became an Android. Because of that she was forced to learn ki control on her own with no prior knowledge of it, and the internet wasn't much help
She searched herself, and felt an odd sense. It was just as Cell said, it was different, and clearly not her own. This person felt warm and compassionate, as well as confused. It was unable to communicate, but 21 could feel it's warmth within her
"How interesting. Hello there." 21 thought as she could feel that the soul was startled. However, it began to feel warmer and calmer, curious as it explored its surroundings more
The soul began to shift and change in feelings. In a sense it was communicating with 21, but not with words, rather with feelings and expression
"So you don't have a name? Well, my name is...Android 21." She thought. "Do you happen to know who you are?"
In response, the soul expressed it's confusion. It could not remember anything before waking up inside of 21, nor did it know anything about itself
"I see. Well I'm just now regaining my memories too. Maybe you could help me stop this?" 21 thought as the soul glowed fiercely, knowing exactly what she was referring to
"Good, then let's fix this." 21 thought with determination as she got up from the table and left the room, only to stop halfway
"Er, what should I call you? Should I make up a name?"
This time the soul expressed it's content. It didn't have anything in mind nor did it have any interest for a name. Rather, it was content in being called soul, as odd as it was. A clean, blank slate
"Oh, well if that's okay with you." 21 thought before walking out of the room
Cell left the room after finally talking with 21. She'd been passed out for a few minutes, but he knew that it was enough time for the villains and heroes to gain their bearings and form plans around the globe, if they could anyway. Though, he also couldn't sense any of the conflict due to the power restrictive devices. What he could barely sense was a great deal of chaos from what appeared to be artificial beings, thousands of them in fact, all blurred into faint messes that were near untraceable
"I wonder why the other 21 set them to attack the cities of Earth? Why do they even exist in the first place if only to create a distraction?" He asked himself. There was a great deal of mystery surrounding 21, which he was intent on finding out over time, especially why her soul was nearly destroyed at such a random time
Although he didn't personally like 21's new decision, he didn't feel like going against her either. After all, this was her plan to begin with, even if she couldn't recall it
"Maybe this isn't such a bad thing. Being a good samaritan and saving a planet from chaos isn't on my list of things to do, but it isn't in my list of things not to do either." Cell thought to himself as he walked down the hallway. He had already done what he always wanted to do, so he really had no other goals in life to complete. This was something that he would rather worry about later, once all was said and done
When he entered the living room he saw the rest of the group. 13 sat on the couch watching T.V along with 15. Turles sat on a table next to the T.V and tapped his fingers on the table impatiently. Next to him was Zangya, who rested her head over her arms in a bored and pensive expression. 14 stood in the corner, staring into space
When Cell entered the room, 13 and 14 noticed him. They too had questions pertaining to 21, they all did really
"So, what's up with the boss?" 13 questioned casually as Cell stood next to a wall, watching the T.V as well. The program that was displayed was, ironically, the manufacturing of cellular devices
"Not only did we save 21 from getting her soul ripped apart, she also lost her memories. Luckily, she's conscious at the moment." Cell informed as 13 chuckled
"Of course. What else would've happened. What she say?"
"She ordered us to revert everything she's done prior to her memories being erased. 16 is checking on the machine to see if he can shut it down." Cell said as 13 sighed. This change of plans was strange, but 13 was in no position to complain, his orders were to follow 21's every word
"Well, least we don't have to worry 'bout that no more." He said as he continued looking at the T.V
"Now we don't have to worry about her eating us, or whatever she was talking about earlier." Zangya remarked
"I suppose. 13, do you know what may've caused this change?" Cell asked the Android, who only shrugged
"I'm drawin up blanks too. But she was acting strangely before all of this."
"Strangely? How so?"
"Well, she got real creepy some time after I started working for her. At first she was nice and all, but eventually she got bitter and bossy. Like the flip of a switch."
"That is also without mentioning her recent obsession with candy." 14 piped up
"That too."
"Candy? Could that be what she meant by food?" Cell wondered curiously, taking in the new information with care
"Not too sure, she got real quiet with her plans after a while, especially with 16 around." 13 responded
"Earlier she mentioned not knowing anything past a certain sample of DNA. What could that have to do with this?" He asked himself. Things were starting to come together but they still made no real sense
"And you Cell? What are you going to do?" Turles questioned the preoccupied Android
"What else am I going to do? I'm going to help of course." Cell said as Zangya looked a little surprised. Everyone else looked amused, except for 14, of course
"I never took you for the compassionate type." He remarked
"Well I don't consider myself one either, but leaving now wouldn't feel right, not when I haven't seen what follows." Cell confessed as 21 walked into the room as well, although slightly confused as she looked at the unknown faces
"Right I forgot." Cell realized. "The tall man next to the wall is Android 14. The two on the couch are 13 and 15. The two on the table are our guests, Turles and Zangya." Cell said, motioning towards everyone as he called out their names
"So, what are we going to do?" 15 asked as 21 looked around, the place looked a little different than before. The couch was red instead of brown, and it was facing the T.V, which looked much bigger than before. Guess she redecorated some time ago
"Oh, we're going to reverse what I've done and save the Earth." 21 said simply and with a weak smile, which surprised virtually everyone in the room
"Huh, that simple is it? Well guess I can't complain." 13 remarked as 16 entered the room as well, bearing a frown
"We have a problem."
"Knew it." 13 chuckled, things were never that simple
"What is it?" 21 asked as she looked oddly at 16. He really did look like Gebo, if only he was around
"The protocol will not shut down. I have looked further and found that there are a few other Machines set across the world, each one set by separate means. The drones that were sent are also independent, requiring us to destroy each one personally." 16 said as Cell laughed
"I knew you were smarter than that. It seems everything has been set in the off chance that someone would attempt to rewrite everything once it began." Cell said as he turned towards 21. "So, you're the person in charge. What are your orders?" Cell asked in an amused tone as she looked pensive. She wasn't yet used to giving orders, but she didn't really have much of a choice
"...Well if there are more consoles, then we should find them and deactivate them. From there we can band together and destroy the drones." 21 said as Cell nodded
"A fair plan. We can begin by destroying the one we have here." Cell concluded as he simply walked over to the other room, with 21 and 16 in tow
When they entered, Cell prepared a large ball of ki and launched it towards the machine. However, there was a large barrier that was released as the ball neared, absorbing it
"Well that's rather unfortunate." Cell deadpanned. He had also forgotten that he was fairly spent by his battle, though he was slowly recovering
"What is it?" 21 asked as she looked at Cell worriedly
"It seems that there is a barrier that was placed to protect the machine. This wouldn't be a problem if my full power wasn't restricted by said machine." Cell explained as he walked closer to the machine with a ball of ki at hand. As he walked closer the barrier flickered to life as the ball of ki shrank, and eventually dissipated
"16, can you deactivate the machine by yourself?" Cell asked as 16 nodded
"It is possible, but it will take time."
"Good to know. You stay here while we go on an adventure." Cell said as 16 nodded again. "While 16 stays here we can go off and deactivate the other devices." Cell addressed 21 as both of the Androids walked out of the room and into the living room once more
"14, do you have the coordinates of the other machines?"
"There are three other machines that emit the same waves as this one. I have set coordinates for each one." 14 said as his eyes flashed red
"Great, then we're ready." Cell stated as he turned towards the other two in the room. "I take it both of you will come along as well?" Cell asked the Heran and the Saiyan
"If it will get us faster to making our ships, then yes." Turles said as he and Zangya stood up from their chairs
"Great, then we're off." He said as 13 turned off the T.V and stood up, along with 15
14, who was standing next to the panel, opened the door and began the course towards the closet machine, almost immediately followed by 13 and 14. Behind them were Turles and Zangya. But 21 had trouble getting off the ground
"Is there a problem?" Cell asked as she looked a little ashamed
"I...forgot how to fly." She confessed as she looked down in shame. While she was with the army, she never had to use her ki powers, much less flying
"Wow, I can't believe they gave the upgrade to the non-ki user. Still, her smarts more than make up for it."
"Hm, well that's a shame. But I guess I'll have to teach you." Cell said as he walked in front of 21 unexpectedly
"Pay attention because this is a rough process. First, feel the ki inside your body." Cell said as 21 closed her eyes and felt her soul. She also felt the other soul within her, which was very docile. It was also alert, as if listening to what Cell was saying
"Good, now try and send it outwards. Release a portion of it onto the space around you." Cell said as 21 followed the directions. It was a little hard, but she managed to send her ki outwards, creating a faint white aura around her
"Now channel it around your body, and mold it into what you want."
It took a few seconds, but 21 soon began to float slightly over the ground, to her own surprise
"Wow, I forgot how this feels..." She said as she flew around the room in the air. Cell began to float as well
"You're a quick learner. Anyway, we should get going." Cell said as he made his way outside. "By the way if you fall, I'll be sure to catch you." He teased as 21 flew out of the room. When she did Cell closed the door using the outside panel board
"Thank you, Cell. I'm glad I have you as help." 21 thanked with a very warm and genuine smile that momentarily took Cell aback, before he smirked
"You're welcome, now we should hurry if you want to fix this." Cell said as he began to fly away, with 21 close behind
Prestina and Chocolata were currently guarding Capsule Corporation, as they expected the worst from Cell. The two stood just outside the glass doors, alert and waiting for Cell's next move
In the distance, the sky was black for a moment, before something unexpected happened. When the sky cleared up, several power levels could be felt across the globe. Many of them were recognized as the Z team, but many were also unrecognizable
"What did he do?" Chocolata questioned aloud in surprise
"I don't know, and I don't like it." Prestina replied
Suddenly, they felt a tinge of pain as they could feel their ki powers being forcibly restricted, almost stripped away. As this happened there were hundreds, maybe thousands of artificial ki souls that were felt across the globe. These drone-like souls scattered and eventually covered the world until all the two could feel were these blurry, fake beings. And even then they could also feel their ki sense getting gradually foggy and more dull
"Guys!!" Bulma yelled as she bursted out the doors of the building
"What is it?" Prestina questioned as Bulma motioned them to enter, to which they did
The trio ram into the building and arrived at Bulma's private lab, with Lamp and Caramela waiting in the room
"Something big just happened!" Bulma exclaimed as she pointed at the map. On it there were a few blue dots across the globe, which created a small pinging effect. However, there were several red dots that covered the map, some of which covered a few figures that represented cities. More importantly there were various groups of red dots that surrounded most of the blue dots
"What is this?"
"It's a map of the world. The blue dots are the rest of the Z team, and the red dots seem to be robotic. Point is, Cell revived the team! But he also revived a bunch of others!!" Bulma explained in a panicked state as the map displayed a few different images, each one being a villain that died over the years. From Nappa, all the way to Majin Buu, who didn't have an image, but just a named profile
"What?!? Why would he do that?!?"
"I don't know, but we have to regroup. Both of you have to get to our friends before something bad happens." Bulma ordered as Prestina and Chocolata nodded, and exited the room. However, Bulma stopped them
"Hey, wait for me!" Bulma said as she ran into another room
"Both of our girls have to deal with so much! Why is this place so chaotic?" Caramela asked herself as she saw her daughters leave the room. There was never much conflict on their home world, let alone to such a degree
Yet inwardly, she and her husband could feel a mix of pride and fear swelling within them as they watched their daughters leave to fight the threat. Neither hesitated in running out the room, especially Prestina
"Be careful girls, we're counting on you." They thought as they remained in the empty laboratory
Both Majins left the building and waited for Bulma, but after some waiting there was a deep rumbling that came from the inside of the building. It continued for a few seconds before a small ship flew through the empty space in the glass dome on top of the building. It was sphere shaped, with the top half being a glass dome and the bottom half was metal in yellow and blue colors, and it also had a few giant headlights at the front. The inside was spacious, and there was a single tiny console inside. In front of that was Bulma, controlling the ship
"Figured I should give this a test before I put it in a capsule! Get in!" The speakers blared as a section of the glass opened
Prestina and Chocolata flew inside before the glass dome closed, amazed by the interior and exterior of the ship, it was just so spacious and comfortable inside, like a portion of an empty room was floating in the sky
"Who do we get first?"
"Whoever is closest." Bulma responded as the ship flew towards the energy of Goten and Trunks, who were near a city
A couple of minutes had passed since Cell's group left the hideout. So far they passed nothing of interest aside from the distant group of drones that flew by, yet they never attacked, nor did the group fight them
"What have you modified? By my understanding, model 16 was based on Gebo, 17-18 were meant to carry an infinite power source, and 19-20 were meant to have power absorption based abilities." Cell questioned 21. The two had been talking about a few things, mainly 21 talking about her life experience while the rest of the group kept quiet, listening
"Well...I was implemented with an adaptive body that can hold the DNA of many different fighters, much like you only less so." She explained. "The only difference is that I can control ki like a normal person. But compared to you, I'm more or less like a...distant cousin so to speak."
"Strange, I can't sense any familiar presences inside of her like me. To anyone she's just a regular human. Remarkable..." Cell realized. Compared to himself, his identity signature was a slew of different readings, each one identical to the piece it belonged to from Frieza to Goku and Piccolo too. Yet 21 was still a normal human, keeping her original identity
"As far as powers go I don't have very many. I can breathe in space, I can heal a bit faster than normal people can, but that's all I've discovered." 21 answered fully. Despite being primed for combat she doesn't remember being properly trained in fighting or ki control, which was an oversight in part of the Army, since she was too busy keeping the place together instead of training
"So she's identical to me. But only I was created by the genes that formed me, and she merely adopted them." Cell thought before he remembered something
"You said that you found a new source of DNA before you lost your memories, where did it come from?"
"We once had a drone that followed the Z team around wherever it went, curtesy of Dr. Gero. From there it collected a foreign alien sample that was discovered here on Earth before it was destroyed."
Cell looked like he was in a deep state of thought. He had a flash of images go through his mind, primarily Majin Buu in his fat form before turning into the evil slim freak that died. He was an alien that was hidden on Earth, and he was comprised of evil
"Maybe that's the answer to 21's change in attitude, yet how was this gene different from the rest? And it still doesn't explain why her soul attempted to rip apart." Cell thought as 21 looked at him
"Why? Is something wrong?" 21 asked as Cell shook his head
"No, nothing. Just one more question. If you say you have Frieza's DNA, can you change forms?" He asked as 21 seemed stumped
"Hm... I don't know. I haven't tampered with my body at all. The only thing I seemed to pick up from him was being able to breathe in space."
"Hm, then I suppose now would be the time to discover more..." Cell mused, to 21's surprise
"What do you mean?"
"With so many threats at large, it would be obvious to assume we would get into a few fights. Perhaps you'll discover more about yourself throughout the day." He chuckled
As if on cue a city appeared over the horizon, directly in their path. However, it was under attack, several drones were seen flying around as they shot blasts of ki that destroyed buildings and caused general mayhem
"Huh, I didn't think they were programmed to attack cities." 13 said aloud as the group stopped for a short second to see the chaos
"Why would I do this..." 21 asked herself, horrified by the destruction that was caused by the drones. She could hear screaming from the people below, helpless against the mindless robots that looked like many known heroes and villains
The soul inside of her was also very horrified by the sight of all the destruction, but equally curious as well. Why would 21 send those drones to ruin lives? What could she possibly gain from something so horrible? It was this morbid curiosity that set it apart from 21, wanting to know the true reason behind it
"I'm guessing this would be to distract the Z team while you were to make your attack. Quite ingenious if it weren't so senseless." Cell theorized, answering everyone's question. "So, shall we keep going?" He asked 21, who was still horrified by the sight
"...No. We have to help!"
With a reluctant yet intrigued grunt Cell turned to look at the battlefield in front of them. Even though it would be more beneficial and effective to ignore the drones, someone like 21 couldn't help but attempt to stop them, even if she herself had no clue as to how to fight
"But that's to be expected from someone so kind as her. Throwing herself into conflict with good intent, yet not knowing how to solve the problem." He thought, almost mockingly before reeling himself back
"Well, she has me as help. So long as I humor her, I will be here to make sure she lives."
"Fine then, but you should know that it won't be easy." He agreed as 13, 14 and 15 began their assault early, while Turles and Zangya reluctantly followed
"I know, but we can't let these people suffer!" 21 said as she dashed towards the scene as fast as she could
"Noble indeed, too noble." Cell thought to himself as he quickly followed nearby
When the Android trio entered first, they took the drones by surprise as they attacked them as a group. But Turles and Zangya weren't as lucky as they were almost immediately targeted by a clump of drones on sight
21 dashed towards a drone that looked like Goku in his Super Saiyan form. But this one wore a black gi with a red undershirt, his skin was a little discolored, and his hair didn't glow
21 immediately punched the drone, only for nothing to happen. Moreover her hand felt like it was on the verge of breaking as she exclaimed in pain, having just punched solid metal
The drone turned to look at 21, with it's eyes flashing red before it dashed forward, recognizing her as a threat. Suddenly, Cell came in and grabbed the drone's outstretched arm. He then spun around and threw the drone further up in the air
"Weaponize your ki!" Cell advised as he dashed after the drone he recently threw away
Wasting no time at all 21 attempted to outpour her ki. She watched as a light pink aura flickered to life around her
However, the soul inside of her reacted strangely, outpouring more ki than the restrictive machines could restrain. Yet at the same time it consumed 21, taking control of her movements as she began involuntarily moving into battle. How or why the soul did this was beyond 21, yet it was able to do so naturally and with little effort as she found herself flying after an Imperfect Cell clone
21 punched the unsuspecting drone, this time sending the drone many yards away. The drones around noticed, and began to dash towards 21 as the soul moved her body to attack the drones, dodging them with a natural ease that startled 21
"You know how to fight?"
To her surprise the soul felt a bit embarrassed, for as natural as its movements were it had little to no clue as to how it was doing any of it, only that it was instinct
Bar the takeover of her body, 21 was mostly enjoying the feeling of letting her body move on its own. Her jerking from side to side without any input of her own was like a sort of dream
"Alright, let's do this. We can save everyone!" She thought rather enthusiastically
Bulma and the Majin sisters arrived at the location they were sent towards. It was nearly the other side of the world, causing the sun to set on the horizon from their perspective. They were surrounded by a small forest, but in a small patch of empty space were Goten and Kid Trunks, surrounded by what appeared to be Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan forms and wearing dark clothing, and hunching over as they watched the kids
"Be careful, we don't know what they're capable of." Bulma warned as the dome opened, allowing Prestina and Chocolata to leave the ship
"They look exactly like your friends sis." Chocolata noted
"But they look so different, and they feel different too. We have to save Goten and Trunks!" Prestina affirmed. "I'll take Goku and you take Vegeta." She whispered as Chocolata nodded. The two quickly dashed through the air
Prestina and Chocolata snuck their way behind their separate targets and simultaneously punched them both in the back of their heads. However, their limited power and the durability of the drones reduced the effect by a lot, only making them stumble forward
The two drones then turned around and began their counterattack. The Goku drone began the offensive as he dashed forward and threw several punches and kicks, each one landing successfully. The Vegeta drone backed further and shot several ki blasts. Yet only Chocolata was able to break free from the attacks by launching a more powerful ball of ki through the barrage of ki attacks
"We have to take on one at a time!" Chocolata strategized as she dashed towards the Goku drone, who attempted to block the incoming punch. But as it exposed itself to Prestina she punched it in the face, allowing Chocolata to kick him as well
The Vegeta drone dashed forwards and attempted to attack Chocolata, only for Prestina to shoot the drone down. Yet it instead changed targets, speeding after Prestina and taking the shots with no care of the damage it took, so much so that it landed a free punch on the unguarded Majin
Chocolata followed the Goku drone as she used her blade of ki to slash at the drone. However, when the blade made contact it cut down an unexpectedly small amount of the synthetic skin and dissipated when trying to go further. Thinking quickly, Chocolata grabbed the drone by the base of its artificial hair and launching it at the Vegeta drone in full force, causing it to stumble and allowing her sister to retake lost ground
She took the opportunity to pin the thrown drone onto its stomach, holding her ki blade over It's neck. Slowly the blade cut through the synthetic skin and before long the head slide off from the rest of it's body. Chocolata, seeing her clear victory, made a break for Prestina and the Vegeta drone, only to feel a hand grab her by the foot. When she turned around she felt the headless drone kick her in the jaw, stunning her and allowing it to shoot a powerful ki attack that blasted her hand off, forcing it to regenerate
"This thing doesn't give up!" She hissed as she held and restrained the sightless drone in a hold before forcing a ball of ki down the hole in its neck, creating an explosion so powerful that it knocked her off her feet
Prestina was still under attack by the Vegeta drone as it dashed after her, landing a flurry of painful punches. As of yet the Majin never experienced an equal fight, always too strong for the attacker to land any meaningful damage, yet this time every blow stung her to such a degree that she nearly recoiled in pain. While she was Preslata she could rely on her sister's fighting knowledge to make a proper counter attack, but in the heat of the moment she couldn't think of any proper movements or ways to evade the punches save for guarding herself
The drone eventually attempted to lunge at her, only for Prestina to barely step to the side and get behind it to deliver a kick to the back of its head
"Hah!" She yelled as she released all of her restricted power into one single yellow beam of energy that enveloped the Vegeta drone
Surprisingly, the drone managed to whip around and land a punch to Prestina's jaw through the attack, knocking her back and canceling it. When she looked up she was horrified to see a disfigured metal skeleton that only vaguely resembled Vegeta, it's facing having melted away, it's hair having burned off and leaving a metal skull with glowing red eyes
Before it could take another step, Chocolata rushed the drone from behind, landing a kick to the back of its knee and piercing its chest with her ki sword, carving a gaping hole. The prone robot tried to fend her off, but was met with a brutal kick to the face by Prestina. The two sisters then used all of their power to shoot the robot with two attacks, detonating it's now exposed core that powered it
"These robots are strong, but I guess they have some weakness." Chocolata huffed, exhausted by how much power she had to spend. It was hard enough that her power was being capped by a mysterious energy, but the drones were just too persistent and sturdy for them to deal with
Prestina took a moment to herself, feeling terrible that she couldn't fend off the drone on her own. If it wasn't for her sister helping her she would barely even be standing at the moment, not used to the stinging pain that came with battle. Her fusion with her sister was her only participation in combat she's had thus far, which paled in comparison to her sister's experience, as limited as it was
"I'm strong enough to fight, but I choose not to..." She realized, beginning to regret not training with Trunks or Vegeta whenever she could. If she had, she could've at least done more
"You alright sis? You're a little distracted."
"I couldn't hold my own there, I nearly lost to the robot if you hadn't stepped in." Prestina confessed. "I'm glad you're here to help me, otherwise..."
"Hey don't think like that, you just don't know how to fight well. If we make it out in one piece, I promise to teach you myself. Deal?" Chocolata offered, extending a hand to her sister and giving a comforting smile
Prestina looked at her with a worried expression, remembering herself in this exact position quite a few times. When they were smaller she may have had the higher power level, but her sister always had the most confidence, always the outgoing type. When Prestina was down, Chocolata was always there to pick her up. And now, with Prestina's ki being restricted more so than Chocolata, they were on even ground, making Chocolata the stronger sister by default
"There's always been someone there to pick me up...Cell, my friends, Trunks. But I have to learn to pick myself up." She thought as she took her sister's hand, half smiling
After the small emotional moment between the sisters, they carried to unconscious children back into the safety of Bulma's ship
"Well? What happened?" She asked as she pressed a button on the console, making a table appear inside the ship
"The drones were strong. We managed to defeat them but not without a lot of effort." Prestina informed as the two set down the young hybrids on the floor
"Damn. Then we really have to go after the rest." Bulma said as the dome closed before the ship began to move towards the next closest ally, Future Trunks
If the girls had trouble with just two, there was no telling what type of force they would need for an army of them. They'll have to be careful not to attract any unwarranted attention from here
In the distance, a helpless city was slowly thrown further into chaos as several drones attacked it. With no one to defend it, the city fell and the helpless citizens were left slaughtered by the hand of the cold, merciless drones that wore the faces of heroes and villains alike. Yet Bulma was forced to overlook this conflict, unable to afford fighting them head on
It was a long and hard fought battle, but in the end 21 and the group won as the final drone, that looked like Frieza and lacked one arm, was brutally pierced through the chest by the powerful Cell. Even with his powers restricted, he still boasted a very durable body, able to grow the more damage he took, though there was only so much he could take
"There we go, that's the last of them." Cell stated as he regenerated his missing right arm. The drones had managed to gang up and rip his arm off during the conflict, just before he destroyed them with a burning shield of ki that melted them away. It seems that the waves not only disrupted ki output, but its potency as well, forcing him to expel more energy for far less powerful attacks
"This wouldn't be such a problem if I was at full power, right now I'm running on fumes. Really good fumes I suppose, but still not enough to last more of these battles."
Cell also destroyed a grand portion of the drones as he used crafty methods such as ki blades and piercing ki blasts to wipe out many of the drones. He even used his mental powers to rip apart a few. However he did have a few scratches, as well as the missing limb that was now regenerated
Elsewhere, 21 felt the soul retract as she could finally move her body once more. She was surprised by her body's ability to easily destroy a great portion of the drones, although she felt very tired after doing so. In the end the soul was forced to blast away every last drone with a great deal of ki and effort, though much of it was wasted because of improper Ki control
13, 14 and 15 came out with a few scratches as they mainly attacked one drone at a time as a group. It was slow, but an effective strategy that kept them well defended. They fought well as a team and continued to do so
Turles and Zangya were the worst off as Turles had a wound on his forehead that bled quite a bit. His battle armor was very much gone, leaving him with shorts, boots, and a very small piece of armor that he promptly threw away for the sake of comfort. During the battle he was bombarded by ki attacks from all sides, but his natural Saiyan grit kept him in the fight for the most part
Zangya had rips and tears over her clothing, though nothing revealing, and also bleeding a little from her mouth. Zangya was also fairly weak, causing the drones to be more work and ultimately more painful to deal with. Their durability and persistence was unmatched compared to anything or anyone she's fought
"Are you alright?" Zangya asked Turles as the two huffed in fatigue
"I'll live." He said as the two smirked at each other, both warriors admiring how well they did in battle
"Are you hurt?" Cell asked as he floated to check on 21. With her being inexperienced, Cell mainly stayed close to her as he attracted attention from her to himself. However, he couldn't help but notice that the soul inside of her made its presence known throughout the fight, using moves very unlike the inexperienced 21 was capable of, but nothing special
"Yeah, my arm hurts a little though." 21 said as she rubbed her right arm that she damaged from her earlier carelessness
"You two held up well for being inexperienced warriors, especially the one inside you." Cell complimented. "Still, there's more I should teach you before our next encounter
As the two floated above the city they were followed by Turles and Zangya in the distance. And finally the Android trio floated upwards as the group looked down to see the destruction
Although the city was badly damaged, it wasn't anything past broken concrete, broken domes and a many fallen buildings. Drone parts could be seen scattered across the stretch of the city...as well as dead civilians
"We shouldn't do that again." Zangya pleaded as she held her left arm tightly, which was bleeding due to a stray attack
"Those stupid drones are persistent." Turles said in between huffs
"Speak for yourselves!" 15 said with a smirk as he brought out his flask to drink. However, he was greatly upset to find that the bottle had broken during the battle, and the pocket it was kept in was burned. This caused 13, Turles and Zangya to burst into laughter, enjoying the small bit of humiliation
21, however, felt a great amount of guilt and regret at seeing everyone in such critical states. She was certain that the drones were weak and that everyone could destroy them easily, but she underestimated them and could have gotten someone killed because of it
Cell noticed the distressed 21 and promptly decided to switch moods to distract her
"Well that was a greatly informational battle. Now we know what we're facing and we shall be able to counter them next we meet" Cell said aloud as everyone perked up. "But we should really get going." He said simply as he motioned to 14, who flashed his red eyes before flying away, followed by everyone in the group
As they flew 21 couldn't help but feel a pit in her stomach at seeing the distraught city below. They couldn't stay to help, and even then there wasn't much they could do
"Is everything okay?" Cell asked
"...I thought I could save everyone with my power, and with everyone's help. But I underestimated the severity of the threat and got everyone hurt instead." She stated, squeezing her arms to try and comfort herself
The soul tried to encourage her from the inside, but at the same time it also felt overwhelmed with the same guilt. Powerful enough to help but not enough to stop the threat. Helpless
"We all make mistakes at times, you are no different." Cell said. "You did your best, and your best was all you could give. But next time, you'll be ready." He assured her, making her smile warmly, along with the soul
For a second Cell returned the smile before he caught himself, clearing his throat and addressing 21 more clearly
"I should teach you some more basics before you tire yourself more. You had the movements down, you just need to find the right technique. Luckily, I can show you." Cell addressed both 21 and the soul, beginning a friendly lesson in ki and fighting as they flew to their destination
