Chapter 46: The Past Returns

A/N: Hey Guys! I really felt like starting something with these characters and I definitely plan on bringing them up again in the near future, so let me know what you think. Anyway back to the story

Space, the most powerful force in the Galaxy. So large that anything lost is never to be found again, so vast that it never seems to end

And yet, by some miracle, quite a few paths will cross yet again...

From inside a lone ship sat the famed leader of the former known Crusher Corp... lazing around

Turles had spent the past few days resting from his fatigue. He nearly spent a whole day sleeping if it wasn't for his Saiyan hunger that forced him awake. Zangya also made sure to lock the training room in the chance that Turles tries to get in while she sleeps

As such he was forced to the couch in the living room of the ship. The Saiyan laid in the warm, soft couch staring at the grey colored ceiling

It had been a while since Turles sat there, thoughtless. It was then that on a whim Turles decided to pull something from his pocket

In his hand was a seed of Might, the only seed that he's recovered since his original ship exploded. Over the years he scattered various seeds in hidden and unthinkable locations in the chance that he loses the stash of seeds in his ship, but he's only found the one seed thus far

Oddly enough as Turles looked at the seed he gained no emotions from the small thing. It was the most powerful seed in the universe! Just one of these can destroy an entire planet and eating just one fruit can give you the power of millions. If one were to ask him years ago about the seed Turles would have responded with a passionate monologue about the power of the Tree of Might

But now he simply regards it as that thing that can destroy planets. Turles had grown normalized to the seed, both mentally and physically. His body (last he checked) rejected the power of the fruit from decades of overuse, it no longer gave him that same rise as it did all those years ago, like an old toy to a child...or a drug

But what did, however, was the fruit he ate from that strange woman on Vampa. That fruit in particular...it somehow had the power greater than anything he'd ever experienced, and that rush he felt was so intoxicating Turles was drawn to it like a moth to a flame

Luckily Turles was able to restrain himself, Kami knows what would've happened had he followed that woman's word. He was certain that he would grow stronger...but what for

"It's been so long I forgot what I was doing." Turles thought as he looked at the quaint little plant. Turles' ambitions were no longer the same as those of his teenage self, such juvenile ideals of being the strongest and ruling the world were lost to time long ago

He will never be the strongest, and unlike many of his race he was okay with that idea. That didn't mean he would give up fighting, but he didn't need to be the best. One could say that after decades of non-stop growth, eating the fruit countless times, ending various planets, the idea of being the strongest had lost it's luster

Maybe...Turles had grown and realized that such pursuits were too childish. Or maybe it was the dead companions, it was sort of iffy for Turles

As he laid in the couch, Zangya came by and rested her arms over the armrest just above his head

"Thinking too much?" She asked, which surprised him that she recognized what he was doing

"Perhaps." He said before looking at her in the eyes

"Any chance you'd like to try the fruit." Turles asked, redirecting the attention

"No, I'm not gonna get addicted to some fruit." She rebutted

"Who said it was addicting?" He asked, though he knew what she meant

"You. Multiple times. You don't even mean to do it either." Zangya said as Turles chuckled softly

"Well, power does mean a lot to a Saiyan, not too certain about Herans though." He commented

"Well Bojack seemed to like power, but he didn't like training too much." Zangya commented as well

"Hmph, I could name a few people like that." Turles thought, thinking back to the Royal Saiyans and the Elites

There was a moment of silence before Zangya continued with a strange question

"How did you keep going? With everything you lost?" Zangya asked oddly, which confused Turles

"Have you been thinking too much?" He joked though he received no answer

There was more uncomfortable silence from the serious question. The question also left Turles to think for a bit, but he debated whether or not to tell her

Many moments passed until Zangya began to walk away

"You don't have to answer that, forget I asked." She sighed as she started to walk away, this was a mistake

But before she could leave the room, Turles blurted something out

"Nothing." He said, which caught Zangya's attention

"There wasn't anything keeping me alive, no true goal or drive." Turles said as he looked at the seed

"But you don't need someone or something to tell you to keep living. In fact, you don't need a reason to live. You can live you're life just for the sake of it." He said

It didn't take much for Turles to think of an answer, the problem was whether he could confide in Zangya with such an answer. This type of subject wasn't something he'd ever talk about, yet strangely enough Zangya was the only one he would ever tell

Zangya took a moment to process the answer before wordlessly walking away, though Turles was left smirking as he stared at the seed again

"I should remember that myself." Turles thought, realizing that the words felt hypocritical with the seed at hand. It was a reminder of old ambitions, one that no longer felt right in his hands

Turles then crushed the seed with his hand, leaving only dust to fall onto his chest

This wasn't truly the end of the Tree, there were still many seeds scattered across the Galaxy. However, it signified Turles' growth, and how much he's changed from the young, brash teen

He was still brash, cocky and overconfident though, but Turles wouldn't admit that

After much time had passed the small ship finally arrived to it's destination, a dark blue colored planet called Planet Itazura plagued with crime and mischief

The planet was famous for its corrupt government and extremely high crime rate, perfect for pirates, runaways, slave trade you name it. The planet was so rotten that not even the tyrannical Cooler Force nor the Frieza Force had dared claim it

The bright white ship soon landed into a landing zone littered with other ships of various colors and makes. Just after they landed, the group left the ship and took in the dark environment. Everything around was beat up and there was an abundance of graffiti, plus the dark blue sky with black clouds also set the shady atmosphere

"Ah Itazura, I've had plenty of memories here. I'm pretty sure I lost my virginity in this place." Turles joked, which confused everyone that he could say something so strange

"Keep that to yourself." Zangya commanded as she got off the ship

"Wow, I've almost forgotten what this place looks like." Cheelai said as she looked around to see someone try picking the lock on a ship, only to be electrocuted by its defenses

"You've been to Itazura before?" Lemo asked

"You kidding me? I was born here, it's kinda the reason I joined the Cooler Force." She said

"Hold on, you never told me you were born here?" Lemo exclaimed

"You never asked." Cheelai responded As the four left the large parkway and entered the beat up street where Turles then addressed the group

"Alright then, meet back here in three hours, don't want to risk the ship getting stolen." He said as everyone minus Lemo nodded, leading to both he and Zangya to walk away in separate directions

"Wait we're splitting up? Shouldn't we stay in a group?" Lemo worried

"We can't that'll draw attention. Listen, how's about we take a stroll and I'll show you the ropes to the place." Cheelai said as she confidently walked down the street, followed by a hesitant Lemo

The two walked around the empty street until they reached one of the many busy areas of the city. It was a market area in which there were many shopping stands with food, supplies, trinkets and other, less legal things as well. It was loud and very uneasy, as though just looking at the place was harmful

"Look Lemo, if we're gonna walk together I'm gonna need to tell you this straight. If you're in trouble, don't expect anyone to save you. In this place everyone is for themselves." Cheelai said as the two walked through the crowd and followed the flow down the street

Using a sneaky technique Cheelai was able to swiftly branch off of the crowd and swipe two cloaks from a stand while the woman manning the stand was asleep

"Put this on." Cheelai said as she tossed a dark brown cloak to her friend. She was able to immediately slide it on, though it was just slightly too big for her. Lemo soon followed her lead as well, but the cloak was too big for him too. The two also made sure to dawn their hoods as well

"Secondly, I do the talking alright. There's no way that people can know who we are." Cheelai continued as a shady figure passed them by

"But why? It's not like we have anything to hide." Lemo said before Cheelai pulled on his ear painfully

"If people find out that we know Zangya and Turles we're toast. Plus, the Cooler Force isn't too popular here." She whispered before Lemo pulled himself away

"Alright geez, you didn't have to yank my ear." Lemo said as he caressed his ear, it was then that Lemo checked his pockets, finding nothing in them

"Thirdly keep your eyes peeled and check your pockets often, you don't know when someone will jack your stuff." Cheelai said as she turned to look at him frantically look for his gun

"I should've started with rule three." Cheelai deadpanned as she continued forward

"Wait where're we going?" Lemo asked as his eyes darted around the crowd full of shady people

"We're gonna see some friends of mine." She said vaguely as they continued trodding down the street

After a few minutes of walking they eventually left the crowd and made their way through a narrow alleyway.

"You sure these friends will remember you?" Lemo asked

"Trust me, they don't forget a face." Cheelai said as they approached a metal door with a single sliding compartment for people to look through

Almost immediately the compartment opened to show a pair of purple eyes

"Password." Said the raspy voice

"The sun never shines on those who wait." Cheelai responded

"We changed it." Said the voice

"No you didn't." Cheelai responded firmly, causing a chuckle from the pair of eyes

The compartment closed and the door was unlocked allowing the door to reveal the large, slim man with dark purple skin and a black leather jacket with dark blue hair. The man also had a cigarette at hand and a covered undershirt that said 'Keep off' in a separate language

"Long time no see Cheelai, how's the force." The man remarked sarcastically

"You don't need to know Wrecker." Cheelai remarked

"Who's the friend?" The man persisted

"None of your business." She said as they walked through the door. Lemo on the other hand took a second to look the man up and down

"What? Got somethin' for ya'?" Wrecker remarked as Lemo dashed through the door with a frightened pace, which made the man chuckle before he shut the door

The two friends walked down a short hallway to later see a dark, vibrant room full of electronic music, alcohol and dancing women on a stage. The club was a place to make business or to have a good time, both of which were tamer aspects of the organization that ran it

"Did you use to work here?" Lemo asked as he motioned towards one of the practically naked women on stage

"Oh Kami no, I just have a friend who works here." Cheelai explained as they made their way to the neo colored bar full of glasses and liquor on the wall. They called over a bartender, who was very large with red skin and horns

"Hey, could call Rika for me." Cheelai asked as the man simply nodded and walked out of the large bar

"Wow, I didn't ever think you grew up around these people." Lemo said in a surprised tone

"I've left out a lot of things. Plus, I don't think I know where you came from either." Cheelai stated

"Guess not, but it sure as hell isn't as interesting as all of this." Lemo said though Cheelai seemed a little down

"Yeah. Growing up here, I had to learn a lot of things very quickly. When I was little I became a messenger for this gang, and eventually I got to know some people here and there." Cheelai explained

"Then how'd you get out?" Lemo asked

"One day I accidentally said something I shouldn't have... and then this powerful man wanted me dead. It took everything I had to escape with a crappy ship, and later I landed on a planet that was recruiting for the force." Cheelai explained

"Huh, never knew it was like that." Lemo said

"I don't go around telling people this, but since we're here I guess it wouldn't hurt." She said

It was then that a curvaceous woman with orange skin walked into sight. She had fluffy red hair that turned into a gradient of orange at the ends. The woman also had red lipstick, red eyes and a tight red dress that complimented her figure. In short, she was a beautiful woman, though her sharp eyes alluded to much more than she seemed

The woman looked around until she saw Cheelai and Lemo. Once she did her face lit up as she walked over towards them

"Cheelai its been too long!" She said with a smooth voice as she pulled in her short green friend to kiss on the check

"Yeah, how's work?" Cheelai asked

"Eh it could be better." She said before then addressing Lemo

"And who's your friend here, he coming out to play?" She said as she then held her arm over his back

"No he's not." Cheelai stated as she pushed Lemo to the side, who seemed very flustered

"Aw no need to keep him from doing what he loves." Rika said with a smile and a wink

"That's not what we're here for. I need to know where your brother is." Cheelai questioned, though Rika took offense to the question

"Really? You haven't seen your best friend in a long time and the first thing you ask me is 'how's work' and where my brother is?" Rika sassed, though Cheelai seemed unaffected

"Sorry sis but I'm kinda in a hurry, I'd love to stay and chat but I can't have the Jackals take my head." Cheelai stressed as Rika sighed

"Subete's in the south area of the city, you'll find him at the old warehouse, you know the one." Rika informed the two

"And how do I get in?" Cheelai asked

"Easy, just knock on the door." Rika said, which surprised Cheelai

"It's that easy?" She asked

"Oh you know how he is, his ego gets the better of him. Plus it's not like anything catches him off guard." Rika said

"I guess. Well it was nice seeing you again. And I promise I'll make it up to you somehow." Cheelai said as she and Lemo walked away

"You too. And hey, call me whenever you like handsome, could always use another customer." The lady said as she seductively held Lemo's face with one hand and pulled a card seemingly out of nowhere to put in his hands

"Oh um, thank you." Lemo said with a blush as Cheelai pulled him by the collar and forced him to walk away

"Hey you don't have to be so rough." Lemo said as he caressed his neck

"Yeah well try to stay on your toes, don't know what could leap out of the corner." Cheelai said

"Who's Subete?" Lemo asked

"He's an informationalist. He has eyes and ears everywhere and his sister gets some of the benefits. In fact he probably knows we're looking for him." Cheelai explained as they left the club

"Is he really gonna help?" Lemo asked

"Sure he will, call it a favor." Cheelai said as the two slipped back into the crowd of people

In another area of the planet the bandit Turles stumbled upon a bar located in a fairly obscure region of the city. It was also fairly beat up from the outside with the occasional drunkard walking away from it

"I'm sure I'll find something here." Turles thought as he walked towards the back of the bar rather than the front for some odd reason

Once Turles reached the back he was gladdened to see a drunk man with pink skin throwing up violently behind the bar. The Saiyan walked up to the man and patted him on the back

"Let me help you with that." Turles said. Before the man could turn around he punched him in the face, launching him toward the floor many feet away

Turles walked over to the unconscious man and grabbed his metallic wallet from his jacket pocket

"This'll serve me well." Turles thought as he went back to the front entrance and walked through the doors

The inside of the bar was a sparse and fairly inactive crowd of men and women. A few would be passed out on the floor and there was the occasional loud conversation. Otherwise the old, unkept bar under warm yellow lighting seemed like the most welcoming area thus far

Turles walked over to the bar stools and sat down, just in front of a bartender. The Saiyan casually ordered a drink of stiff beer, which was quickly served to him

He sighed after receiving his drink, it was far too long since Turles had a moment to himself like this. He used to drink often with his Crusher Corps, though those outings were rare and far in between

Places like these reminded Turles of the fun he had with them. When they weren't laying siege to a planet they would be goofing off on some planet, doing the strangest activities like petty thievery or tricking a drunkard into picking a fight

Turles smirked as he remembered those times, it wasn't rare for him to think of the past though it wasn't often that he found himself missing those times

"For those we lost!" Turles declared loudly as he raised the glass of reddish yellow liquid and then took a swig of it

"Hmph, lost someone too huh." A random man said who sat two stools away from him

This man had a black robe that covered most of his body, minus his armored black boots with yellow tips and a red cloth that wrapped around it. Aside from this the only discerning feature that wasn't covered by the robe and hood was his left arm which had the same red material around his arm

"You could say so. Why? Anything you wanna say?" Turles asked curiously

"I lost something too you know, more than you could imagine." The mysterious man said as he took a swig of his drink

"Damn. Guess it happens to the best of us eh?" Turles joked grimly, causing the man to chuckle softly

"It does. Now I just spend my time running around, finding something to do." The man said

"Same here." Turles said which caused a bit of silence between the two

"Say, do you ever get bored of just looking around? With nothing to do?" Turles asked him. He felt as though a man like him understood what he was getting at, which wasn't too far off

"No. It's hard to when you have your past biting back at you. I'm stuck running from it." The man sighed

"You could say that again." Turles said, which somewhat resonated with him

"Hey, any chance you know what's up with the Cooler Force?" Turles questioned, seeing as he had someone who would listen to him

"No, I don't keep up with the current times." The figure said, taking another drink from his whisky

"Shame, I'd really like to meet the guy. Him and his brother." Turles said casually, though the figure seemed to respond unkindly

"You too eh? I haven't heard of a single person who doesn't want those two dead." The man commented

"They are the biggest assholes around, so it's only inevitable. You after them to or something?" Turles asked as he noticed the implication

"I was, the bastard Frieza took everything from me. But now I don't bother, the revenge was the least of my problems after a while." The man said with venom in his voice, which Turles could understand

"Well you're too late, someone beat you to it." Turles reminded the man

"Yeah...Kakarot..." The man said in a low tone of voice

"What was that?" Turles asked

"Nothing, just remembered something." The man said as he stood up from his chair

"Hey, what's your name." The man asked as he rummaged through his things

"Turles. Yours?" He asked

"Bardock." The man said as he placed a pair of tokens onto the table

"Hm, sounds familiar." Turles thought outloud as the man walked away

"I'm sure it does. It was good knowing you." The figure said as he walked out the doors of the bar

"Odd, I could've sworn I've heard his name before." Turles thought before continuing to drink his beer

Just outside of the bar, the hooded man removed his hood to reveal spiked hair similar to Turles' and a scar on his face

"Hmph, haven't seen him in a while." Bardock said as he used a strange device on his hip to create a dark colored portal, which he used to leave the area

Down in the slums of the city Zangya explored her surroundings. This bad side of the city was full of beige colored buildings made of concrete, all having been destroyed in various ways from roof cavings to toppled walls. What once was the golden age of Itazura now laid wasted after much neglect

Zangya was able to navigate her way through the intricate and ruined hallways and areas, occasionally encountering someone dumb enough to try and harm her

The reason for searching wasn't clear. In fact she had no compelling reason other than to recall more of her memories. In an odd sense Zangya just felt like doing it, going through what it was like all those years ago. Though her reminiscing wasn't all positive, it was something that felt...weird

"The more I hang out with Turles the more I act like him, this is stupid." Zangya thought though her body made no effort to go back, and her mind eventually gave up in convincing herself.

After a while Zangya was deep into the run down section of the city, fallen skyscrapers, lowly criminals and drug addicts littered the area. Occasionally Zangya would decide to walk through a torn down building to see the inside

The feeling itself of exploring for no reason felt strange, like she was wasting her time. Taking Turles' strange advice was odd, but it sure did beat walking around the pact crowds

Living for the sake of living...surely it wasn't that simple

"I still remember those cold nights..." Zangya thought as she looked all over and pictured herself in her younger years in her home planet doing exactly as the other people she found were doing, searching for something to eat or attempting to sleep well

But amidst the recollection, she noticed a suspicious old woman. She was short with long strands of grey hair and she had maroon red skin. Aside from the rags she also had a small yellow amulet on her chest

When Zangya looked over, the lady almost immediately met her gaze, which peaked her interest

The old lady chuckled and mysteriously walked through the tattered building behind her, cutting off Zangya's sight of her

"Hm, what's up with her." Zangya thought to herself, now partially accepting her run of just wandering around

The Heran walked over to the building with a fallen roof and navigated her way through various empty hallways to find a room with a strange door. Unlike the rest which were broken, this black wooden door had a smooth finish with strange carvings of monsters

"This seems familiar." Zangya thought to herself, surely she could remember that door in specific

When Zangya entered the room it was fairly similar to the outside, only much better kept. The room had cracks along the walls, but aside from that there was some okay looking furniture, mostly torn however. But aside one wall there was a large black chest that looked especially mysterious

"Ah welcome welcome, do come in please." The woman said as Zangya closed the door behind her and took a seat

"Who're you?" Zangya asked, refusing the stool that sat in front of the woman

"My name is Shinrai, and I'm a witch." She said, getting straight to the point

"Hmph, if you're a witch then why're you here?" Zangya questioned further, though the old lady waved her off

"It's a bother for witches to live in places that rat infested city, once everyone knows you have the power of magic then everyone wants you dead around here." Shinrai said, but failed to properly convince Zangya

"And you see, everyone there has ambitions, strong ambitions. Everyone that lives wants to control everything! It's only natural that they would want to control me too. So I'd rather keep to myself." Shinrai continued

"But you see, everyone over there isn't worthy of my assistance, those scum will only abuse what I've labored for them just to end up dead." She stressed

"I suppose so." Zangya replied

"However you...you're special!" Shinrai said, which didn't faze Zangya

"What? I have a pure heart?" She deadpanned

"No no no, far from it. You see what they have too much of you seem to lack...ambitions!" The woman said, which surprised Zangya. The woman even smirked as a result of seeing her face

"You're a wandering soul, with nothing to do, nothing to accomplish. You're just a flying leaf in the wind, trying to find something to latch on." Shinrai continued, ever growing more accurate in her assumptions

"I can give you what you lack, I can give you something new to your life. I swear you won't regret it." The woman finished

Zangya was shocked that this witch knew so much about her after just meeting, it was very creepy in a way. In fact part of her felt like refusing the deal because of how suspicious and forward it sounded

But for some reason the words intrigued her...ambitions

"...Fine...what do you want? I'm assuming your just gonna give me a long quest to complete?" Zangya said before she could attempt to convince herself further

"Oh nothing nothing, just one small task, and then all the power in the world shall be yours." Shinrai said with a chip in her voice as she began to rummage through her chest

Once she finished she closed the chest and brought her closed fist onto Zangya's open hand

"This...is the Seed of Might! Plant this on any planet and watch as it withers away, and then the spoils are yours in the form of a fruit." Shinrai said as she gave Zangya that familiar spiked seed...identical to Turles'

"What the hell?!?" She thought, but before she could say anything the woman began to laugh

As the woman laughed the room darkened until Zangya couldn't tell if her eyes were opened or closed. But once a few seconds passed the darkness disappeared, leaving the room bare of any traces of Shinrai...if that was her real name

Zangya stared at the seed and immediately placed it in her pocket before leaving the room, now with no door

"This was stupid, what was I thinking?" Zangya told herself, nothing good could've come from something so suspicious looking. Luckily that witch didn't try anything funny

"I should tell them about this." Zangya thought as she continued walking through the ruined city, now with more on her mind to think of

In the distance, a shadowy figure loomed beside single building, looking out to see Zangya casually walk away

"Good, that should do her in too." Said the figure as there was a strange tapping sound, followed by a dark purple portal that sucked in the figure before disappearing

In a less populated area of the city Cheelai and Lemo walked through with their hoods drawn, both doing their best not to draw attention. Though there were far less people in the area it was still just as active with thugs and known gangsters causing trouble for others

"How much longer? This place gives me the creeps." Lemo complained as he saw a gangster give him the side eye from a distance

"Stop complaining, it's right around here." Cheelai said as she followed her sense of direction

The two turned a few corners and eventually saw a small, rusted and abandoned warehouse. It wasn't very special, in fact it was indistinguishable from the rest of the broken and run down buildings

"This is it?" Lemo questioned

"Yeah, now follow me." Cheelai said as she went in through the broken entrance of the warehouse

The inside of the warehouse was just as bad as the outside, rusted metal, broken windows and bent pillars that sustained the whole thing, making the structure lopsided. Aside from this there were also a few crates, a couple of metal tables and even a pack of playing cards on one of them. However the one noticeable aspect was an odd splash of color on one of the ruined doors

"CRS?" Lemo said out loud as he touched what seemed to be green spray paint on the entrance door

"Cheelai-Rika-Subete. It's what we used to call the three of us when we were kids. In fact when we were little we used to come here everyday since it was one of the few buildings no one messed with, too out of the way." Cheelai explained as she went over to inspect the spray paint, which was withered away as well

"Must've been fun." Lemo commented as the two walked away

"It was bearable." She remarked

The two walked over towards a corner of the near empty warehouse to find a single bed as well as a small wooden table and a mess of bandages and spoiled food

"Where is he?" Cheelai asked herself

"Right here." A voice said as the two turned to see a hooded figure

The man wore a ripped black hoodie with black pants and shoes, however one sleeve was destroyed to reveal a large bandage that covered the forearm. The man had orange skin and sharp, angular hair that spiked as well, and the sharp red eyes completed his suspicious look

"Long time no see, heard you were coming." Subete said

"Of course you have. What haven't you heard of?" Cheelai deadpanned

"The reason why you're hanging out with the leader of the Crusher Corps and a member of the Galaxy Soldiers." Subete said, which shocked the other two

"You know about that?" Lemo asked

"Of course, I always have an ear to the ground. In fact a few people have been following you and your friends since you got here." Subete said, which frightened the two

"Shit, how didn't I notice." Cheelai said as she looked around her surroundings to find nothing

"Sorry to make this reunion a little short but you should get outta here if you want to keep your heads in place, Fukushima is still sore over what you did Cheelai." Subete informed the two

"What did you do?" Lemo asked a nervous Cheelai

"So I may have called him a bitch behind his back, and it may have traveled back to him." She confessed

"And he's after you for that?!" He asked

"Well I mean he's kinda a jerk and he REALLY makes it hard not to hate him, plus I may have taken some money from him on my way out." Cheelai said as well

"Really?!?" Lemo exclaimed

"Come on your supposed to be on my side with this!" She exclaimed as well

"Not when it means we might die!" He replied

"Not to break up your little argument but you should get going." Subete said as he sat on his bed

"Wait, do you know what happened to the Cooler Force?" Cheelai asked as Subete grabbed some bandages from the side of his bed

"So that's what you're here for? Guess there's no harm in telling." He said as he unwrapped his bloodied bandage around his leg

"Well it started with the Frieza Force becoming more active all of a sudden, some even say it was because Frieza himself was revived or something. Either way once his army mobilized Cooler's base was blown up so the entire force was destroyed at the heart." Subete informed, that alone was enough to shock the two

"But the strangest part was that Frieza gathered nearly all of his soldiers and went to the western area of the galaxy, only to disappear with the entire force with him, now both armies are gone." Subete said which shocked the two further

"But the real kicker is that what was left wasn't destroyed or anything, but instead people say they started to work together. Whatever it is it can't be good." He said as he finished applying a new set of bandages to cover him up

"That's...a lot to take in." Lemo said

"Well you can take it elsewhere, right now you need to move if you don't want to get caught." Subete warned

"Alright, thanks a lot!" Cheelai said as the two began to run, but were stopped

"Oh and hey, you forgot this when you left last time." Subete shouted as he tossed a sheathed dagger from within his jacket pocket

Cheelai stopped to catch the blade, and when she inspected it she remembered exactly what it was. The knife was a gold plated blade that fit comfortably in her hand and was around 5 inches long. It was relatively small and the blade also had a little wear and tear to it. This dagger was Cheelai's favorite, one that she stole from a more well established bandit who took it from a rich guy on another planet

"What?! Thought I'd never see this again, how'd you find it?!" Cheelai questioned as she unsheathed the blade, revealing the sharp (but slightly dulled) iron blade with a small amount of rust, and the blade also made a slight curve upwards

"I found it stuck to one of the guys you killed when you left, so I just grabbed it, been meaning to give it back." Subete grinned as he recalled the memory of the few corpses he found all those years ago

"Wow, thanks, I'll be sure to pay you back!" Cheelai exclaimed as she happily pocketed the blade with its sheath and began to run away with Lemo tailing her

The two ran out of the warehouse and straight towards the ship miles away, but they were immediately stopped by a small band of gangsters wearing dark blue leathered jackets

"Well well well, if it ain't Cheelai! The boss is glad to see ya' make it back, saves him the trouble of looking for ya.'" The man at the front of the group yelled, he had purple skin and had small horns on his forehead

"Hey Rashi! Still mad over that black eye I gave you?" Cheelai teased as the man seemed infuriated

"All bark and no bite, you don't have your new friends to save you this time!" Rashi stated

"Yeah, and you're still not gonna catch me!" Cheelai lied, though the man only smirked

"End of the road! Get 'em!" Rashi ordered the men with a signal as all of them whipped out pistols that were loaded with normal bullets rather than lasers

Cheelai and Lemo immediately dodged as they dove to their right to take cover behind the corner of a building

"Hey, you're a good shot right?" Cheelai asked as she fished for her gun

"I-I guess." Lemo said as he tried to peak the corner, only to get shot at again

"Good, now you're gonna give me some cover while I charge at them." Cheelai said as she shoved the gun into his hands

"Are you insane!?!" Lemo asked as Cheelai unsheathed her blade

"A little, but we're on our own here." She explained as she positioned herself at the corner of the wall

Cheelai seemed to hesitate in giving the order, her breath was a little shaky and her grip on the knife was tight. She wasn't sure whether she would make it out in one piece, which was a feeling she was all too familiar with

"Alright...on three. One. Two. Three!!" She exclaimed as she immediately ran out of corner and Lemo peaked behind cover with a clear line of sight

But both stopped in their tracks when they saw what was ahead of them

There stood Zangya, holding Rashi high up by the neck, beside her there were a few smoking piles of ash as well as a couple of severed limbs. Aside from that a few lucky gangsters made a break for it, and all of them were a ways away already

"You! You won't get away with-" Rashi gasped but was then tossed through a wall and shot by a powerful ki blast

"You're annoying." Zangya commented before turning to see the stunned faces of Cheelai and Lemo

"I sensed you two were in trouble so I decided to fly over here." She explained as she walked over to Cheelai, who was frozen in place

"Cool knife." She complemented as well, though all Cheelai did was lay flat on the ground with a beating heart

"Heh...eheh...thanks...thanks a lot." Cheelai thanked, though she didn't face the woman

"Well you two can thank me later. Come on it's getting late, Turles is at the ship already." Zangya said as she picked up the two short stacks by the collar of their cloaks, neither of which complained

"Thank Kami I have new friends." Cheelai thought with a still racing heart
