sorry?

also a very, very, very brief touma cameo.

It only took them a few seconds to analyze the situation before acting.

A white helicopter with red stripe lines is plummeting, the trajectory can be anticipated, the speed of the fall is alarming—they have 30 secs more or less and the landing is obvious, it'll land on the park where they were.

Amidst the frenzied movements and high-pitched shrieks, the four of them rapidly analyzed and made swift and necessary measures according to their limited options.

"Kuroko" Mikoto dropped their bags and held out her hand to the girl whose eyes fully conveyed the determination to do something.

Kuroko took hold of her hand and nodded to Uiharu who had already taken out a small laptop, called for the emergency contacts and was ready to update them should they need her.

Saten's position shifted from kuroko's shoulders to the ground as Kuroko and Mikoto vanished from sight.

With the helicopter moving at a fast rate, kuroko didn't dare teleport inside. Her accuracy would still be on point but there is no telling if the trajectory would abruptly shift so to be on the safe side, Kuroko won't take any chances, they have little time as is. Both had noted the insignia outside on the heli's side.

It's a helicopter medic/flight medic.

Now, their first action would be to check up on the pilot and passengers (if there are).

Kuroko hopped twice, landing close enough, Mikoto then magnetized themselves, holding on to kuroko's waist.

With both pairs of feet firmly planted on the landing skids of the heli, Mikoto forcibly opened the door for only a fraction, took stock warm air inside and the patient with a small rebar protruding from his clavicle to the 3 medical workers holding on for dear life, and made a quick decision and shutting the door close.

Speaking would be pointless, with their proximity, the still rotating rotors were loud and the downdraft was harsh. They have to do it quickly.

Mikoto pulled Kuroko's arms and wrap it around her waist, Kuroko got the memo and did so without much question, she was standing on a landing skid with nothing sticking her to the metal not like Mikoto, nothing preventing her from plummeting if not for Mikoto's arm around her waist.

This is not the widest road in Academy city with only 3 meters per lane, you have a more or less 12 (more or less) meter-wide road. But if you count the margins of the buildings adjacent to the road, from one building to another the distance would be at most 20-25 meters.

Mikoto needed to connect to the buildings since the distance to the ground would require more energy and concentration, not that she can't spare any, she had to pick the best option for all parties involve.

Mikoto would have to generate a large magnetic field to keep the helicopter mid air to buy some much needed time to properly orientate for all parties involved and she had to do it as gently as possible. She gestured so at the medical workers but didn't elaborate more as lighting cackled from her fingertips. She charged the surroundings of the heli, making it a huge metallic machine inside a magnetic field, subsequently, she magnetized the buildings on both sides thereby making the heli stay in place mid-air by virtue of magnetism alone.

She had to be careful of her control too, as to not charge too much for the people inside.

From the outside, kids and adults alike gape at the huge machination who seemed to grow a pair of huge electric wings on each side. It was marvelous as it was horrifying. Easily one of the most memorable pictures for the day.

The helicopter groaned to a gentle stop, and once the helicopter was fully stabilized, Kuroko didn't waste time going inside, grabbing the attention of the two gaping physicians and one nurse from Mikoto's breathtaking display of power. "I'm from judgement-." she showed her judgment band. "-We are here to help until the proper rescue team arrives, for now this is the only solution we can come up with. Please be patient with us."

The nurse gaped at the kid, the sheer scale of what they're doing exceeds most of what people can even dream of doing. Why is she talking like there are better things that can be done? Academy city is insane!

The head physician expressed his thanks and all of them followed, the pilots' being relayed by the head physician.

Mikoto hurriedly got inside, sliding the door back in place and noted that it's already overcrowded mostly because a few of medical equipment took up a large area of the space. Kuroko immediately singled out the most senior physician and asked "Sensei, since you know best what to do in this situation, we will follow your instructions. What's the best course of action?"

The doctor's eyes roved over to the patient to Mikoto and then to Kuroko. His quick and analytical thinking is a testament to his seniority and experience, granted, he'd never really been in this kind of situation before.

He asked Mikoto "How long can you maintain this in mid-air? I need to know if I have time to stabilized him, he took more damaged from the fall than I anticipated."

"I have plenty of juice so I can go for hours if need be."

"Incredible! But no need, I'll only need a few minutes to stabilize his condition" While saying this, the nurse and the junior physician snapped to reality and were already checking the equipment and the patient's vitals.

"Could you lower us back down to the ground later? You see, this-" he pointed to the building on the heli's right, the bigger and taller of the two buildings, "Is a hospital, we were supposed to land up top but something had gone wrong and our trajectory damned us here instead." By now, he was speaking while patching the patient as best as he could.

Mikoto followed the doctor's eyes as it roved over to the patient whose bleeding got worse from all the jostling, thankfully he is unconscious or that wound would seriously hurt.

"...Yes, I can sensei, just tell me when."

Blood continued to drip at a worrying pace from the wound while some regurgitated to his mouth, choking the patient but the doctors were already onto it, their motions remained fluid despite their tensed expression. Mikoto tried her hardest not to look at the blood reaching her loafers but she felt the warmth against her feet instead, she was suddenly transported to a memory she'd rather not reminisce now.

She took an unsteady step back.

Mikoto had a strong stomach, she really does but the smell of iron and other chemicals (that's what makes the hospital smell so strongly) is almost overwhelming her senses, she tried to breath through her mouth, she tasted iron instead, threatening her ice cream to regurgitate itself out.

The nausea started then.

The air inside started to get too humid. She was sweating bullets but she felt cold and lightheaded, the air is so disturbingly heavy. It feels suffocating, it's hard to breathe and Mikoto wanted so badly to open the door for some cold dry air but for all she knew paramedics were deliberately keeping the temperature as it is so she didn't voice any queries and suffered through it, instead, she took off her windbreaker first and then her sweater leaving her in a dark blue, thick long-sleeves shirt and even then it's still stifling. It also didn't help that Mikoto is using an energy that can easily generate thousands of Celsius trying to keep them floating and they're in the center of it.

Her vision started to turn blurry.

She had to concentrate.

But damn it, why is she having a vasovagal reaction now? She saw plenty of blood before.

But not much on a helpless normal human, no.

That was a lot of blood, will he die?

Focus.

But no, she had to focus on helping them afloat. She had to. She swallowed back the bile.

The doctor nodded, sweat soaking his scrubs. He took note of her pale face and said, "Hey, there's a candy on the contraption behind you. That should help, sit down if you can and try to think of the one thing that easily grabs your attention. Hang in there, try to maintain us afloat. You have a life to save, see through it till the end"

Remote..no wait...Gekota!

Sensei basically commanded the last part and Mikoto can respect him for that. He was right, she decided to save them so she had to focus on doing just that, nausea notwithstanding. With that in mind, she fished for the candy.

"Now the problem is to clear the road of any cars and people."

Kuroko was already on the case. She had issued a command to block off the road. Uiharu was probably overriding the streetlight systems while simultaneously reporting and passing the instruction to Anti-skill.

Kuroko kept disappearing and appearing, likely arranging things down the road and informing the doctor of the current situation, the doctors gave her satisfied but tired smile.

The helicopter hovered for over a few minutes now, Mikoto didn't feel too much strain using her powers at the moment but her senses are getting assaulted big time. Sweat stung her eyes and she's trying to breath without gagging at the smell. At this point, she can almost taste the iron. Looking down, she noted that she would have to buy new loafers.

Focus.

Ah wait, the candy.

After eating the candy, she felt loads better, the abundance of saliva in her mouth ensured that she tasted it as soon as it landed on her tongue.

She had to divert her attention, and quickㅡ

Mikoto had planned or more likely declared for this day to be a hang-out day. Just to get rid of any thoughts regarding a certain Mental out because she had been occupying her mind for the past week, for almost the WHOLE day every day. The whole situation is crazy and it's driving her crazy. Ever since that one guy mentioned the "your girlfriend" word last week as he referred to Misaki, it was all she could think about.

That was last Monday. Come Wednesday, Mikoto had approached Shokuhou about the situation with the beautiful mustache-muscle man Shouji Mitsuki, and while she had been met with an affirmation for the said date, she had also been teased endlessly, she'd rather not repeat that incident thank you.

They had met again Friday afternoon for the monthly 'official school business meeting' where they'd drink tea and make quick work of the reports and then make idle talk for the remaining time. Except they didn't, because Mikoto ran as soon as the serious stuff was over, she would rather face a giant godzilla-ish stone dragon than facing the person who can make her blush with just breathing. It's ridiculous.

Weekends got her much-needed break from school but thoughts of Misaki invaded her thoughts from time to time with just a 30-minute break in between. So this Monday, she decided to have fun and evict Shokuhou out of her mind and so far, it had been working.

Until it didn't. She's thinking about her right now, isn't she? Drat.

Though now, her thoughts are spiralling on the fact that she might be a little bit attracted to the doll-like blonde. Yes, she had to admit that to herself, she had thought long and hard this week and this was the conclusion she arrived at.

Urgh, they were supposed to relax! This was supposed to be her day free of any Shokuhou-stuff. This was supposed to beㅡ

Ping! Ping! Ping!

Ah, there she is, the object of her thoughts, manifesting out of nowhere.

There was no way Mikoto wouldn't know who's trying to grab her attention if, by the headache alone, there's only one person in the world who can make her feel this kind of pain.

The sparks from Mikoto's bangs hadn't completely dissipated when she glared at the person across from her, not minding the concerned looks directed her way. Behind a window of the hospital building, on a certain floor directly above eye level from the helicopter, Mikoto saw Shokuhou looking down at her and waving nonchalantly, blowing her a playful kiss.

What the heck is she doing in there?

While a frowning expression is hard to recognize at a distance, Mikoto can easily make out the blonde's happy countenance behind the blue-tinted glass wall.

Shokuhou's gloved hands pointed at her lips, circling it while she's speaking. Of course, Mikoto won't hear it, and she can't decipher complicated sentences by lip reading alone - so she tried her best...and shook her head in response to 'did you get me?'

The hands changed positions and were now circling parallel to the side of her head then pointing at Mikoto, lips still mouthing words. She was calling her lazy and -

She wants to communicate telepathically.

Mikoto rolled her eyes and sighed, then shook her head at the blonde who merely smiled at the rejection and waved her remote back and forth saying, Your loss.

Given her recent discoveries to copious amounts of research, as of now, letting Shokuhou in her head would be a disaster in the making.

Suddenly the nurse turned to Mikoto "Misaka-san~, a medical team is already waiting downstairs and a few camera men so be ready to look good~. Show what the level 5 poster child of Academy city can do~" The nurse's eye turned back to normal, confusion marring her features and those of the two physicians.

What a troublesome girl.

Shooting a glare at the blonde, Mikoto's attention turned back to the medics.

"Gotou-san shut up for a moment" the old man commanded his headphones.. Gotou-san must be the pilot.

Gotou must have said something because the older man gave Mikoto a once-over once recognition took place while the younger doctor gave Mikoto an awed look, "Right, uhmm, we can descend now. We've done the best we could, he needs proper equipment."

"Can you do that without jostling the heli too much? Or is it too much to ask?" the older doctor inquired.

Mikoto exhaled and nodded just as drops of sweat slid down from her forehead to her chin.

Then she adjusted her power output.

Lowering the gigantic vehicle is a bit tricky. Pieces of all kinds of small metals were already sticking to the magnetic field surrounding the heli, making some sort of a circular shield, well sort of. With Mikoto's precise manipulation, she generated another magnetic field on the ground, adjusted the capacity of the other fields, and controlled the force of the attraction towards the ground below.

It took 3 or so minutes. From the 16th floor to the ground, we're talking about 56 or so meters. If going by elevator speed, Mikoto saved 3 minutes of travel time and she did it without jostling the helicopter too much. Mikoto's uncomfortably drenched, her hair sticking to her neck and face, she felt disgusted but she paid it no mind.

Pride coursed through her veins instead, she saving someone and that's gotta count for something.

Collective sighs were heard once the soft creak of the helicopter was heard, signaling its complete and successful descent. She then forcibly halted the sluggish rotating rotors before relaxing a bit. The people inside waited for Mikoto's ability to fade before moving their butts. They took turns saying their gratitude though.

"Thank you Misaka-kun. I don't know if we're still alive if you and Shirai-kun hadn't come to help. You've save four lives today. Good work!" the head physician smiled as he passed her.

"If kiddies like you are our future, we oldies are assured of a bright future." the nurse says as she gets out.

The junior physician handed her a calling card. "If you were ever in need of medical assistance/queries or any assistance at all, I'd be happy to help."

"Must be nice to be young." the olde man commented in a slightly teasing voice.

Mikoto looked at the card, 'Hoshizora Hikari', then looked back up to notice Hoshizora-san indignantly blushing, glaring at her professor. "Prof, she's a minor! What are you saying?!"

It was only then that Mikoto got what the older man meant. Her face burned.

The nurse grinned "Ara, ara. Hoshi-chan, if she was not a minor, you would go for her? Is that right?" she started as she opened the door and cold air blasted all their faces. Mikoto gave a sigh of relief, the frosty air felt like a balm to her overheated body.

Mikoto sweatdropped as Hoshizora-san made a so-so gesture, rolling her eyes all the while. "I'm asexual but sure." her sarcasm didn't fly by Mikoto though. It was like she was too tired to argue with her senpai's.

Well, one quick way to end an argument is to agree to the other party's side, regardless if you really believe it or not. Kudos to her.

The three medics all moved with practice, they transformed the gurney and were already wheeling out the patient, into the hospital with another 4 medics following around them, shouting his status and instructions for preparation.

Before leaving, the younger doctor patted Mikoto's shoulder a bit too hard. "I mean it. You need help, you call." with that she was sprinting out.

Mikoto was left inside, loafers soaked in blood, her sweater is uncomfortably soaked with sweat which is starting to get cold, bangs sticking close to her forehead; feeling relieved and thankful and tired as the tension in her body left.

She brushed her hair back, the strands sticking close to each other, letting the cool air hit her body at full blast as she too stepped out. Immediately, the uncomfortably pasty feeling became soothing as the sweat cooled against her skin. It won't be long before she's gonna feel the cold though.

Kuroko reappeared brushing snow out of her shoulder "The road has been re-routed, the people too. Everything is running smoothly as possible, Onee-sa-aaaahh!"

Kuroko met her eyes and slipped abruptly.

Why the hell did she slip? Did Saten curse her?

Kuroko was about to smack herself against the window of the helicopter. Mikoto's reflexes showed their extraordinary caliber just then. Her hand reached out, palm facing towards where Kuroko's smooth forehead would bump just milliseconds before impact.

There was a muffled thump and a pitiful whine followed.

Mikoto winced, hand throbbing and going numb.

Unbeknownst to the two espers, a middle aged man finally exited the helicopter from the pilot seat. Incidentally looking at the two girls' position and shook his head. Railgun or not, there should be appropriate places for these kinds of things, they should've known better. "Kids these days, flirting everywhere." he commented, amusement lacing his voice as he quietly rounded the helicopter the other way so the girls' moment wouldn't be ruined.

Man, I wish I was home romancing my wife.

He shook his head, worked now, smooch the wife later. Now then, he gotta check that engine and that rotor.

In Tokiwadai, or in any other parts of the world really, scolding one's junior is a thing. An obligation rather.

"Kuroko! That was careless, what would you have done if I wasn't here?" Mikoto paused, clenching and unclenching her right hand, trying to get the feeling back on it. "You and I both do not believe in karma so I'm saying this out of pure concern-" Here, Mikoto paused, waiting for Kuroko to meet her eyes, when she did though, Mikoto's feral grin showed. "Karma got you"

If this is what karma looks like, I'd worship that bald, long-eared man.

It was a combo of darkened wet hair, slick back with some part of her bangs hanging on for dear life near to the side, the dark grin that promised naughty things and the beads of sexy sweat. A sight that Kuroko thought she'd see only in the privacy of her dreams.

Uiharu can bury her 6 feet under right now and she'd be satisfied till her last breath.

Outwardly, Kuroko could only say two dumb words. "My knees" because no one mentioned yet that Mikoto was essentially doing a 'kabedon' to her right?

Oblivious Mikoto changed gears then. "What? Are you hurt? Kuroko, you should have said so!"

Kuroko needs help. Serious help. If no one distracts her for the next second, she's gonna do something she'll get electrocuted for. Not that it's something new. Pshh.

Shokuhou Misaki's entrance couldn't be more appropriate then. She took one look at the situation and decided … something.

"Ara Misaka-san-" she says in lieu of a greeting. "-flirting this late in the aftern—" Mikoto looked up and the scorching ambers met her eyes and then Misaki . . . slipped.

Saten is a demented nutcase and Mikoto hereby declares that she's on the temporary probation of the friendship title.

She took one look at the position of Mikoto and the two other girls in her arms and wailed.

The brunette was just getting her bearings, and is currently taking stock of her position, of Shokuhou's position and finally of Kuroko's position, which she realizes, is what her bodyㄧher reflexes, ended up doing. In Mikoto haste to catch the blonde, they had ended up on the ground with Mikoto cushioning Shokuhou's body, however, Mikoto had managed to drag Kuroko with them so both of the girl's were half-piled on top of her. Both of their shoulders had dug painfully on her chest.

Both of the girl's heads were tucked on her neck securely, Mikoto's right hand was wrapped around Kuroko's head while her left was on Shokuhou's waist. It was a mess.

When her wiry friend came upon the picture, Saten merely gave her a controversial grin.

"It's not what you think!" she managed to say.

Never mind that she was weeping, obviously faking it, which by the wayーsounded extremely horrible, it was somehow wild and gleeful, and her acting, while not convincingㄧis not artless in its entirety.

It's just very, very, very freaking exaggerated.

"Really, Misaka-san? In front of me? You're WIFE?!"

Someone kindly remind me to kindly smack this loon later.

Mikoto sat up abruptly, taking the two girls with her in her haste to get up. Shokuhou gave a somewhat cute yelp while Kuroko was strangely silent. Both are strangely compliant though. "Can we do this later? There are other people around!"

The 'other' people consist of Uiharu and Uiharu.

Saten valiantly tried to fight off a smirk, she really did, and lost spectacularly, she turned away for a moment "pfft".

Mikoto felt her cheeks warming, she was already marching up to Saten, intent on silencing the girl. Shokuhou made a strange sound as Mikoto's arm grazed her stomach when she rounded on Saten, Mikoto paid it no mind though. No one noticed Kuroko patting her own head, a sweet, giddy smile adorning her face.

"Shut up! Now is really not the time for this kind of scene."

"You say that, yet you're the one who is scandalous in this relationship, canoodling with other girls, in public no le-blurrghh"

Uiharu, blessedly sweet Uiharu did the honors for her as she elbowed Saten hard on the ribs, smiling, all the while Saten almost keeled over by the force alone.

She's Mikoto's favorite now.

"That was impressive Misaka-san! Are you okay? It looks like it took a lot out of you" Uiharu commented with a blush adorning her cheeks. It was likely from the cold, the sun is almost out of commission for the day, Mikoto thought idly.

"M'fine. I just hope that that guy will live." Mikoto then remembered the two girls behind her, a question on the tip of her tongue but seeing them rather occupied, she raised a brow instead.

"Well, he's with doctors that are doing their best, he'll be okay." Uiharu replied with a smile.

Mikoto sighed "Yeah...yeah he would be". A short breeze caressed them, reminding the electromaster of her lack of winter ensemble. Mikoto concentrated and warmed herself up.

A piece of cloth fell on her head. It was her windbreaker. She flash Shokuhou a thumbs up in thanks before wearing them.

Shokuhou was facing away from her, arms cross, nose in the air and her brows twitching. She looked like she had been thoroughly wronged. It was adorable.

Kuroko transported herself to dreamland. There's no other way to say it.

How in the world did you guys slip or why are you here is what Mikoto really wanted to ask but as her focus had lasered on to the blonde, she asked instead "Why are you pouting?"

Immediately, Shokuhou's expression smoothened out, gradually changing to indifference before a teasing smile graced her full lips.

That can't be good.

"Ara~Misaka-san, given the progress of our relationship, one should have known 'the supposed spouse', don't you think? Incredibly rude of you to neglect mentioning something this big."

"Wha—"

Saten didn't even miss a beat. "I've chosen terribly didn't I?"

Saten's has been crashed on the friendship list.

"I'm sure there is that one pointlessly admirable trait that emcompasses all her fundamentally tragic ones" The blonde quips sarcastically.

Shokuhou has been demoted from adorable to infuriating. Who was attracted to her again? Teresita. That's who.

"Ah, I don't mind being a mistress. But WHY Saten?"

Kuroko's supremely deductive mind apparently took a vacation to paradise.

"What's wrong with Saten?" Mikoto and Uiharu asked wonderingly, same time Saten cried "Nothing's wrong with me"

Mikoto actually forgot that she was supposed to be angry at her energetic friend.

The three exchanged looks for a moment before Saten flew to Mikoto's arms "I knew I married right!" Uiharu pouted in the background (where did the angst go?), none the wiser of another black haired human fast approaching behind her.

Shokuhou whistled.

"How about I be the wife, you be the third party."

"'Third party' is a bit exclusive. Mistress will do just fine." Saten says hastily. "Though it's a good thing, you just can't change my wife status, mistress." Saten's arms on Mikoto tighten considerably and Mikoto's lamenting why this situation has gone from mundane to absurd.

"You ㅡ" Kuroko started.

"Me!" Mikoto only sighed as Saten leaped back to the ground. "And don't you think Uiharu's gonna make a very adorable pet?"

That stopped Kuroko from firing off another rebuttal, wait was she actually considering it? Well, Uiharu would make a cute bu—NOPE. Not going there.

Uiharu was quick to stomp her feet, eyebrows meeting in the center and aggressively pointing at Saten's chest. "Oh no, NO! I'm not gonna play pet again!"

"Again?" they all echoed sans Saten who looked like she's gonna melt in delight and Shokuhou who raised a single fair brow.

Uiharu was saved from what would be a painful recollection when a body (the type that screams) narrowly dodged her and almost slammed into Mikoto but she calmly stepped aside but then she realized that Shokuhou was in the 'line of fire' so she went and grabbed the collar of the person before he could make a rather violent bodily contact. "AAAAHHHH-Ack!"

Given his penchant for suddenly finding himself in compromising positions, and with Shokuhou as the victim, Mikoto wouldn't want to commit to a very foreseeable violent reflex should that instance come to pass.

Kamijou Touma landed with a heavy thump against the road and seeing the darkened sky instead of someone's chest like some overused 'convenient' trope on oblivious anime boys, his head being supported by Mikoto via collar.

What is freaking wrong with people wanting to kiss the ground today?

All of them blink at the sudden turn of events, with Touma quick to stand on his own after looking up and seeing an unimpressed Mikoto. That could have ended in disaster but well, it's a good thing biribiri was there. It had been a long time since he had seen her and she looks healthy, just a bit irritated but that's like, almost her default reaction to him, nothing new.

He grinned as thanks before bolting off, nodding at Shokuhou on the way. "Sorry-thank you, slip on a banana peel. See ya!"

Mikoto almost had a fit. Banana?! If not ice, it's freaking banana peel? How unlucky can he get?

"How did that uncultured gorilla even manage to pass here?! I made sure to instruct the other judgement not to let anyone in."

Mikoto just shrugged. "Leave it, he probably has some girl to save or something."

"Can't take a breath, can he?" Kuroko scoffed.

"That or some other girl is chasing him." Mikoto replied with a chuckle. Poor, poor Touma, no rest for the wicked.

"So what now?" Uiharu asked.

Mikoto glanced at all of her friends. "Do we go home or what?"

In answer, the helicopter suddenly groaned and jerked. The tail rotor suddenly started to spin, accelerating by the second. Some of the girls yelped in surprise but all of them had their guards up.

Something is very wrong.

But what?

The helicopter groaned again. There was a small popping sound followed by wisps of black smoke and a man yelped.

The groaning seems to increase in frequency making everyone tense by the second.

All of a sudden, the whole helicopter seemed to vibrate and the main rotor started to spin too, gaining momentum by the second. Before it could reach the speed enough to generate a downdraft which would apply a great deal more danger, Mikoto made the decision to stop it.

With a simple clenched of her fist, she crumpled the rotor blades and pulled it off the main rotor mast. There was a scream of mortification but Mikoto ignored it. A crowd of onlookers had gathered on the other sides of the road and started to clap in relief, some jaws dropping and some shaking their head.

A small explosion rock the whole machine. It's not that loud but Mikoto panicked all the same.

"SHOKUHOU!"

Tendrils of destructive lightning arcs up Mikoto's head. Her hair bellowed from the sudden change of energy in the surrounding air while her eyes were rapidly darting back and forth, taking in everything that could be harmful or things that could be of use.

"Kuroko get them out!" Without further prompting, Kuroko had gotten Saten and Uiharu out of the vicinity.

Shokuhou was the closest to the tail rotor which was now spinning uncontrollably. She had to get her to safety.

Shokuhou's eyes blazed, gone was the nonchalant-playful look.

Shokuhou must have been watching her reaction closely too, because Mikoto was pretty sure the moment her brows connected, Shokuhou had materialized a remote in her hand and with a click, people within a 50 meter radius uniformly turned tail and ran away in an organized manner.

Gotou-san, the pilot, came running last as he was the closest to the helicopter. He was probably trying to check what was wrong with it before it acted.

Mikoto had a brief look at the engine a while ago, she knew it was an engine failure but as to why the pilot suddenly couldn't maneuver the helicopter, Mikoto had no idea. It could be sabotage for all she knew.

You would be a pretty sick trash if you sabotaged a flight medic though, just saying.

As Mikoto reached for Shokuhou, she briefly touched the helicopter, sending threads of current to check the engine again.

The feedback made her grit her teeth in horror.

So the helicopter IS sabotaged! It's actually a miracle that they hadn't crashed to anything. That would have been disastrous.

Mikoto took hold of Shokuhou's hand and none too gently pulled, ducked a bit and wrapped an arm around Shokuhou's back and another below her knees, tucking them together making it so she can carry Shokuhou like a child.

"You could have been more elegant in carrying a lady you know..."

"Quiet" Mikoto tersely replied to the blonde's light hearted suggestion. Despite being loads taller than Kuroko, she more or less weighs the same. She had to put more muscle in that fluffy body of hers.

With Shokuhou secure in a semi-fetal position, Mikoto flew back while simultaneously calling out lightning to slice the half of the tail boom of the helicopter. The tail rotor had continued to rotate at a swift and ceaseless momentum, Mikoto feared it might dislodged itself with the way it was accelerating so she opted to cut it off.

Mikoto then generated enough heat to melt the still rotating (petulant, rather) tail rotor all the while magnetizing the metal in place. When it was sufficiently heated, Mikoto squeezed her right fist, crumpling Shokuhou's classy red trenchcoat and the metal folded itself to the smallest size possible―a basketball size sphere of red metal.

Adjusting the blonde again, this time, she let Shokuhou lean all of her body weight on her upper torso, freeing her right hand and putting all the weight of the blonde on her left. She may have struggled if she didn't have a great core strength.

With hand outstretched like a claw, she ripped another section of the tail boom and used it as a projectile for her signature move. She then flicked her right hand upwards. The now cooling metal basketball flew vertically at an accelerated pace.

Then she aimed and fired a railgun right in the center where the peculiar alloy she found inside the helicopter. Mikoto was pretty sure that was the reason for the tail rotor going haywire a while ago. A railgun is best to eliminate whatever that was.

There was no explosion, just a loud whistle-like sound and a few sparks, and then metal basketball was gone.

Mikoto watched until the last spark vanished, she didn't relax until the wind around them calmed down though.

"The pilot's mind is frustratingly blank about what was going on or why the rotor was acting like that. He just knew something was wrong which was not helpful at all. He also thinks you just sliced a 300 million worth vehicle like nothing and you're a reckless moron" Shokuhou giggled, arms loosening so she had a bit of room to look at the electromaster.

"Wow, you don't have to report everything. I'm pretty sure it was your opinion anyway. What did I say about reading minds? Hmm?"

"It could be mine in different words." she shrugged. "That was purely his words though. Oh, and he's hoping you would pay for the things you wrecked."

A bubble of laughter erupted out of Mikoto, jostling the other girl with her. She didn't know why but imagining the older man huffing and puffing about his helicopter as opposed to feeling relieved they were still alive is freaking hilarious.

In her mirth, Mikoto didn't notice that she was leaning on the blonde, chin resting on her ample chest, feeling relaxed and soothed. Eventually she calmed down but didn't move from her position. With the blonde's hands loosely wrapped around her neck and that sharp, pleasantly-sweet, flowery smell of her perfume encompassing the electromaster's olfactory perception, Mikoto just opted to savor the feeling of the hug.

Just a second.

She borrowed a bit more into the comfortable, cushiony heat, hands tightening around the blonde's body, immensely thankful that no harm had come to her. Shokuhou had been in a very risky location, there was no telling what would happen if the rotor somehow dislodged or the helicopter exploded...Maybe that's an exaggeration but Mikoto rests her case.

Just another second.

"Hmm~I'm glad I'm okay too~" came her pleasant lilting voice in response to what Mikoto uttered, her hands gently patting the brunette's back.

What? Did she say stuff out loud? Oh shi―

Shokuhou guided Mikoto's eyes as she tilted her face upwards, the soft texture of her gloves tickling the brunette's chin but she was too shocked to do anything.

"Ah, ah~, no swearing~ and Yes you did."

There was a tender look on the mental out's face.

Why?

Should she look away? Can she though? Can Shokuhou stop with the eyes? Please? It's heavy and captivating, and sure, it's fascinating to watch her pupils enlarge real time but is she even allowed to look? it feels too intimate to be allowed to. She should breathe, right? She can, right? How? Her eyes started to sting but Mikoto didn't want to blink even once. Everything is too warm all of a sudden, her own bodyㅡespecially her face, Shokuhou's sudden spiked body heat, and whatever bubble they had been trapped in.

Mikoto trembled.

Breathe.

And Mikoto did.

so uhmm, yeah. sorry.
