Sorry about the long wait guys, I'll explain at the end.

Kal's face was stoic as he flew through the air, towards the battle he was about to join. It wasn't something he wanted, he was so tired of war and death but at the same time, he couldn't say no. When Tyrande told what the Old Gods were, he found himself agreeing to help fight them without even thinking about it. Which is what led to what he was doing now. As much as he wanted to fly down to this Silithus as fast as he could and get this done quickly.

Tyrande was quick to correct his thoughts and told him of how foolish that would be. He might be powerful, but he won't know how to convince the defenders that he was on their side. As much as it annoyed him that it would take longer to get started but it did make sense. After a brief discussion, it led him here.

He was flying across the skies of the continent, not under his own power but on the back on one of this world's native creatures. A Hippogryph is what they were called and he had to admit, he was surprised at how fast these guys could fly, not as fast as him of course but definitely faster than what's on Earth, it almost seemed to match the speed of a private helicopter. It only added to his suspicion that these guys where magical, he made the private mental note that at this point he should just assume everything he sees is magic instead of the other was around.

Looking to the left, he saw his guard, protector, adviser. The guard that has been keeping a close eye on him. Her name was Shandris. It seemed she held some high rank within the Night Elves and it was also clear that she didn't want this job. It made sense to him, if she was a high rank and her people where just recently attacked. Well, he wouldn't want to leave either. It just showed how much trust Tyrande seemed to have in her.

They've been flying for a few hours now and Kal was just amazed by everything that was below them. That so many different environments could be so close together is just amazing and the scientist Kryptonian in him wants to start studying it immediately. He didn't hear anything down there, knowing to well that if his ears wondered to far he would hear something that would distract him too much.

He just kept his eyes forwards as the sun set behind him and the night sky became more visible, he looked and it was an easy thing to say that the view of the stars here was much more beautiful than it was on Earth. His mind did the first thing that was expected of it and tried to place the constellations, but it wasn't a surprise to find that it was completely new to him, he may as well be on the other side of the universe. Which is something that he needs to figure out as well. Was he just in another section of space, or a completely new universe?

But that could wait, besides he wouldn't be able to figure that out until he gets the fortress set up. It was the only thing that he knew had the technology to answer that question and he very much doubted that there was anything else on this world that could do it.

Turning his head, he turned to face his guide as she flew beside him. Unlike him she was holding on the mane of the animal with a tight grip. Understandable considering that if she falls she may be in trouble, unlike him who still thought it would be better to fly on his own "How much further!?" he asked loudly in order to be heard over the winds.

The woman turned to look at him as they flew "a few more hours!" she answered before she looked forward and quickly turned back to the distance "on the horizon, you should be able to see the beginning of the desert!" she informed.

Following the instruction, he looked forward and just as she said. When he used his eyes to look far closer than a regular person could, he found that she was right, the sands of a desert started to get more and more prominent it wouldn't be much longer until they arrived at the battle. He knew that he shouldn't be looking forward to it and he would take the fighting seriously, a small part of him couldn't help but feel excitement, not at the fighting itself but being able to see so many denizens of the new world he's found himself on.

As of the moment two really stood out to him. The humans, mainly because he wanted to see how similar they were to the humans of Earth. Then there was the Draenei, the reason he wanted to meet with them was because of the how according to Shandris, they were capable to space travel. That alone made then a people that he needed to talk to. The other reasons being that they as well seemed magical though according to Tyrande, they used a different type of magic from others. They used something called 'The Light' which was something more holy in nature. Something that the humans could use as well but apparently the Draenei use the Light far better than any other.

That was what led to the other conversation that Kal felt he needed to know, magic. According to Tyrande, there were many different types of magic in play within Azeroth. The primary magic of the Night Elves was the holy magic of Elune and the Druidism of the forest. But there where many others, there was the Arcane, the Shamanism of the elements, the art of the Warlocks and then the Light. Kal made the strong mental note to study all of these magics in order to better defend himself against them later.

"AAAAHHHH" a strong and loud war cry left the mouth of Supreme commander Saurfang. His great battle axe swung down, slicing another bug in half completely. He may be the leader of the Might of Kalimdor but that did not mean he did not fight on the front lines with all of his fellow warriors. He was a seasoned fighter, he knows that a commander needs to be in the back directing everyone but at the same time he would not allow this battle to pass without taking part in it himself.

Which has proven to be the right call as they would need as many fighters as they could. The Qiraji may be much weaker individually compared to his own forces but what they lacked in strength, they made up for in numbers. It was a swarm in every meaning of the word, they couldn't afford to have anyone hanging back and not fighting. He made sure to make that known to all present, even the other commanders and those of a high rank.

To his surprise, they didn't disagree with him. He was expecting to be fought on his plans and strategies every step of the way. Not by his own forces but by the forces of the Alliance, as this would be one of the first times that both the Horde and Alliance would be working together. They've done it before of course but this would be the first time that one of their own would be leading the others.

During the war against the legion, they just fought against the demons on their own and only being near each other in order to fight but they never took orders from the leaders of the other forces. But thankfully, it seemed that the Alliance was able to put aside any prejudices or grudges they may have in the face of the enemy. Something he was grateful for "COMMANDER!" a voice shouted next to him.

Kill another bug, Saurfang quickly glanced over his shoulder and saw one of the human Paladins making his way towards him "The mages at the back are getting swarmed by the flyers!" he shouted over the sounds of battle as both forces where clashing loudly in front of the great Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Which the Qiraji where doing everything they could to defend. The Orc snarled at the news "tell those that use nature as a weapon to assist them" he ordered "use the winds they travel against them"

"The Druids" the Paladin said "Yes commander" he said before turning and making his way back to the outer lines. It was a strong formation, the warriors such as himself were in front. Bows in the middle and the magic users at the back. The priests and other healers were spread out amongst the entire formation, giving everyone the chance to be healed. Even on the front lines where they would be in great danger. Thankfully, the others seemed to understand how import they were, and all his fellow warriors would act as bodyguards to them while they healed others.

But their momentum was starting to fail, something he knew would happen. They had been fighting all day with the expectation that the bugs would retreat behind their walls and regroup their forces, but it seemed they had much more than the leaders originally thought. When the sun set and the moon raised, many of his forces started to suffer from fatigue and exhaustion. It didn't help that even with the moon light, it was still much darker then during the day and they were suffering because of it. The only ones who still fought just as well as they did in the day where the Night Elves and he was grateful for that.

If they lost those archers, then the mages would be swarmed by the bugs and that would be the end of this army. Yes, they neared the gate but the massive bugs that stood guard in front of the gate had yet to act against the forces battling them. If they didn't end this soon, they would have to fall back and go on the defensive. Which would cost them dearly.

That was when something entered his line of sight, a silhouette could be seen in front of the moon. For a second he thought it would just be another bug that would need to be shot down with all the others, but it was too big for that. Just as he saw another silhouette that matched the first, he recognized them. They were hippogriffs, a well-known and well used mount of the Night Elves. What they were doing here he didn't know, but what he did know was that if they didn't move they would both die to the large flyers that would no doubt notice them.

He turned back to the battle and continued to fight against their enemy. He moved his axe with such a swiftness that the natural armour of the bugs shell didn't stand a chance against him. But it didn't seem to matter, no matter how much they fought, no matter out many they killed. The damned bugs just kept coming, looking form side to side, he could see that they were losing too many. He hated it, he really did and he growled as he reached for his lower back, intending to grab the war horn in order to sound the retreat.

That was when he saw it, a bright red light started to fill the sky. Saurfang turned around and looked up into the sky, as did many others. The light of the moon started to get replaced by something much more powerful. Looking closer, the Supreme commander could only make out the figure of what seemed to be a man flying in the air. Maybe it was his years of experience or his strict battle instincts, but he found himself diving to the ground for cover and as soon as his body hit the ground, he felt an intense heat on his back.

As the two entered the desert, the sounds of fighting became too much for him to ignore. He suspected that it took longer for Shandris to hear it then him obviously. But at the same time he suspects that she had better hearing then the humans of Earth, he didn't want to think he thought that just because the ears of her people are so massive but he would be lying if he said it wasn't what prompted the thought.

He shook his head, that didn't matter now. The light of the full moon behind them made it much easier to see what taking place dozens of miles in front of them. The torches of the primary fighting force shined brightly, making it easy to see the formations that they held as they fought against the insectoids. It wasn't looking good, he's seen enough lines being pushed back to know what it looks like when he sees it.

He needed to act if these guys where going to make it, he turned his head and looked at Shandris. Based on the concerned look she held she had a similar thought "I need to go help them!" he shouted in order to be heard over the winds and fighting.

When she turned to look at him, it was easy to see that she didn't like the idea of him leaving her side. But she glanced at the armies getting closer and closer "What did you have in mind!?" she yelled back as she reached for back and pulled her bow over and into her hands.

He already knew exactly what he needed to do in order to make the most difference, still looking at her, his eyes started to change and a bright red hue started to overtake the normal blue colour "Don't get into my line of sight" he warned as he floated into the air above his mount but still travelled at the same speed as it.

The Hippogriff sense the weight it was carrying leaving it, looked around and saw Kal flying above him. It squawked and lost its momentum upon seeing him and turned around, flying in another direction. He really hoped he wouldn't be in trouble for that, normally he wouldn't just leave it to go flying on its own but right now he had other priorities.

He turned back to the forces and Shandris wasn't kidding earlier. He could see dozens of different species all fighting together against these bugs. He put his surprise in the back of his mind and made mental notes to talk to them later, but for now he needed to help them.

He flew forward, some of the insectoids that could fly tried to get him as he reached the middle of the army fighting the bugs, thankfully they couldn't do much. Kal punched and slapped the bugs away, killing them in the process. He didn't have time to deal with these things individually and need to help the army as best he could, thankfully he had just the thing.

During the war on Earth, Kal got much more skilled with his abilities. His heat vision while not getting more powerful, he mastered his control of. The heat from his eyes got hotter and hotter, the light coming from them getting brighter and brighter. Then he unleashed it, unlike normally when it comes in the form of two circular beams, this time it was more of flat sheet on pure solar energy.

Using it this way allowed him to make a clear line between the bugs and the allied forces. After the initial shock of the attack, his eyes moved upwards, and the attack moved with them. None of the bugs ever stood a chance against the intense heat that came from the attack, only ashes were left of them. His eyes moved upwards until they hit the solid wall that the bugs seemed to be fighting to defend.

The light dimmed as the attack ended, though his eyes stayed red for a moment longer, then they narrowed as the five massive bugs that stood in front of the wall, them somehow surviving his attack. Sure, it wasn't as strong as it could have been but at the same time, the fact they survived it was telling of how strong their armour was. But that wouldn't matter now.

Without waiting for the army to regroup so they could attack together, he charged forward. The five, seeing that their armies had just been destroyed. Opened their mouths and roared, charging forward towards the army. At least that is what they tried to do, Kal wouldn't let them get far.

When he neared the first, he reached for his back and pulled the Trident free. He flew past the head of one and swung his weapon as he did so, completely decapitating it. He span in the air and threw the trident as he would a javelin. The golden weapon imbedded itself in the head of the target and the large bug fell to the ground. Seeing him as the larger danger, the remaining three turned to face him and moved forward. Still floating in the air, Kal looked and the closest one and he used his heat vision. Unlike before, the beams came out as two solid beams that melted the chest of the target, the bug let out a vile screech before collapses to the ground.

Not caring for their fellows, the last two climbed over their bodies in order to reach him. Not that it would matter. Moving both of his fists in front of him he flew the rest of the small distance, he flew fast, in the span of just a few feet he moved faster than the speed of sound. Needless to say the exoskeleton did hold up to his strength and while disgusting being covered in god knows what. He didn't stop moving though, once he was cleared of the body he just flew through. He quickly flew behind the last one standing and grabbed one of its armour plates, he flew into the air carrying the large bug as he did so. He span in the air and used his strength to throw it. No matter how big this bug may be, Kal's moved a planet. The bug flew up into the air and did not come back down, it just got smaller and smaller. It no doubt about to enter the atmosphere.

See the threats dealt with, Kal turned around and looked closely at the large black stone wall the bugs seemed to be guarding. It was hard not to notice the large circle stone door in the middle of it all, a part of him wondered why they were trying so hard to defends this wall when the allied army had access to flight. Then he looked closer and new why, the very air around the wall seemed to shimmer in place. It was like there was a force field surrounding the wall and even going above it as well 'magic' he groaned to himself.

That would make things much more difficult, at least he wouldn't be alone in dealing with it. He turned around and float over to one of the downed leaders. He reached out and grabbed the Trident which was still imbedded within the skull of the bug and pulled it free, spilling its guts as he did so. He looked closer at the weapon and he could see the blood start to sizzle as the divine weapon refused to let the blood stain it. Nodding in satisfaction at the work he returned it to his back.

That was when he turned to face the allied forces, they weren't moving. Not really, their momentum had halted as they starred at the battlefield. There was no doubt in his mind that somewhere starring at him as well. Thankfully, they seemed to have competent leaders, as he could hear many voices all shouting out to others and giving order which they seemed to be following, Kal's feet touched the ground with now had a thin layer of ash on top of the sand and started to walk towards the army.

Kal wasn't surprised how easy it was to wipe out these bugs. Even before the war against Darkseid started, Kal found that when it came to killing some like these bugs, where there is no sapient thought, just a type of hivemind combined with instinct controlling them. Much similar to some of the threats that came to Themyscira back in the day, or even the Parademons. He found no moral trouble in killing them, which he was grateful for as he had no idea how he would be able to stop this war without wiping out the enemy force.

But he knew it wasn't over, as he walked across the battlefield, he could hear them. Thousands of them, their multiple legs hitting the ground, the clicking of their mandibles. When he glanced at the ground and looked through it, he could see tunnels that went so far down. He couldn't see too well though, the ground itself seemed to be seeped in magic making it difficult to get a clear image.

But that can wait for another time, kicking over a charred black carapace he reached the allied forces. He didn't rush and when he was a few feet away from the front lines, he was met with one of the large green Orcs who held a shield and hammer. Next to him was a blue alien that Kal's never seen before. Based on what Shandris told him, Kal would take a guess and say this was a Troll "I'm looking for a Commander Saurfang" he told them calmly.

The two glanced at each other and it was clear they didn't know what to do "who are you stranger?" a voice said, though it didn't come from the Orc or Troll. They themselves turned around and made way for a human to walk in-between them.

Kal would say the man was middle aged, he had reddish brown hair that reached his neck along with a beard of the same colour. He wore an armour with gold metal plates and blue fabric that held the symbol of a lion on the chest. He held a large great sword on his back that glowed with a bright light "My name is Kal-El, I was sent here just recently by high priestess Whisperwind. I'm here to help with the War effort" he said introducing himself.

The man looked at him with a sceptical eye and for a moment Kal thought that he wouldn't be believed. Though that was until he saw Shandris make her way over from behind the forces with another Night Elf with her "he's telling the truth" she said to the man, who himself turned to see the women walking towards him.

"Captian Windstryke" the man greeted with a nod.

The woman who he now knew the name of 'Windstryke' he said to himself "Supreme Commander Saurfang has requested the captains to meet at the command tent" she told the man before turning to look at Kal "you should come as well"

He didn't move forward for a moment, instead keep his eyes locked with the man who had just questioned him. He continued to stare at Kal for another moment before he stepped to the side and gave him room to pass. Taking his acceptance Kal started to walk forward and matched pace with Windstryke "how goes the fighting?" he asked as they walked.

If Windstryke had a problem with telling him the situation she didn't show it "Not as well as we'd like" she answered "their numbers where far more then we initially thought, he may not like it but the commander would have been a fool to not call for the retreat if you didn't arrive when you did" she informed him.

As they walked through the army's forces, the amount of stares Kal received from them all remained him of when he first announced himself to Earth as Superman. Though it didn't nearly bother him as much as it did all those years ago, in fact he welcomed it here. It gave him a chance to observe all of them as well, he could see so many different faces, body types and facial reactions. So many different species all together on one world. Hearing it from Shandris is one thing but actually seeing it was something else.

He almost didn't notice that they reached the central command tent. It was large and was lit by candle light, there was a table in the centre that held dozens of piles of parchments with a map in the middle of it all. Standing over the table with both hands resting on top of it, was a large green skinned Orc with greying hair. On his left was a large being that remarkable resembled a cow but he knew that this was a Tauren. Standing next to said Tauren was a small remarkably human figure though he was much smaller, this was a Dwarf. Who looked at the table with arms crossed and grim eyes.

It took everything Kal had to not compare those around him to the many different fantasy soties and novels. Though he was able to put those thoughts away 'different world' he thought to himself. It wasn't fair to compare those around him to the fiction of Earth. On the Orcs right side was Shandris and Windstryke who were speaking to each other in hushed tone. Hearing the footsteps behind him, he didn't have time to look over his shoulder as the man who was sceptical of him earlier walked past him and moved over towards the table.

"Commander" he said to the Orc as he reached the table, standing next to the two Night Elves as he did so.

The Orc looked up from the table and instead of acknowledging the human, his eyes landed on Kal. Kal himself walked forward until he stood opposite the Orc on the other side of the table. He eyed Kal critically for a moment before talking "I was not made aware of human reinforcements" he spoke, glances at the only human in the tent "though I shall not complain, you've bought us time to regroup and resume the offensive" he added looking back down to the map.

"It shant matta" the Dwarf spoke up "Without tha septa wee may as well be slappin tha wall of stone"

"It is true" the Tauren added "the Bronze drakes still ignore us in every way. Without the sceptre, we cannot get through the wall and the Ahn'Qiraj will be defended" he added in a saddened tone.

"I've seen many mages" the human said as he starred at Kal, ignoring what was being said by the others "yet I've never seen that type of power come from someone so quickly, no rituals, no support, just from you" the tents occupants turned to look at Kal as the man spoke "could you get through the wall?" he asked.

Kal starred back at him for a moment, he didn't answer but his eyes did go over his shoulder and it landed on Shandris. Who took his look as a sign that she should step in "Kal, this is High lord Leoric Von Zeldig, one of the captains of this army and a Paladin of the Silver Hand" she introduced the man before turning to face the others "everyone, this Kal-El. He's been sent here by High Priestess Whisperwind to aid in the way effort" she added.

"Ha, ya shant hear me complain a'bout more fighters" the Dwarf added "I'm Duke August Foehammer" Kal could tell that he and all others present expect for the Orc and Shandris had the same rank. Sandris was about of the army here and the Orc was in charge.

"It's good to meet you" he smiled and nodded back at the Dwarf before turning back to the Orc "how can I help?" he asked.

Saurfang let out a crawl as he walked around the table and out the tent "Malagav is right, we need to end this threat before they can reproduce and replace the numbers they lost" he started standing just in front of the tent and looking out over the battlefield. Across the ominously dead battlefield and focused on the dark sealed wall "but the rest of them, including the leaders and their vile master. If we cannot get past it soon then this will all be for nothing"

"what's stopping you?" he asked sure he already knew the answer, but he just wanted to make sure.

"A barrier" the voice of Windstyrke said from behind the two as she walked up to join them "nearly a thousand years ago, the dragons placed a magical barrier around the ancient prison of C'thun. Up until recently they've been trapped in that city but now they're breaking out but we can't go in to finish them off" she told him.

'There are dragons here. Of course, there are dragons' Kal's mind said "is there no way through it?" he asked.

"A handful of teams have been able to find out that when the wall was sealed, the bronze dragon Anachronos created a sceptre that should unlock it" she crossed her arms looked to the ground and sighed "but we've been unable to locate it, or learn anything more about it. At this rate, by the time we find it it'll be too late"

Understanding her reasoning for worry, Kal turned back to the wall "I don't know if it will work but I could at the least try and get through it with physical force instead of magic" he announced.

They both turned to look at Kal with a critical eye, he doubted they believed him but at the same time. They did just see what he did to the army of bugs "if you can do such a thing, then this battle may not be lost" the Orc said, nodding at him.

"But if you do this" Windstyrke added with a warning tone "you may be creating an enemy in the Bronze Dargonflight"

Kal looked over towards her "and... How bad would that be?" he asked, not having any idea about this... DragonFlight?

Before she could answer however, the human beat her too it "not as bad as it would be for us to withdraw" the three turned around to face him and the other leaders as they left the tent.

"Aye" August nodded along "I shant be wantin to anger tha dragons. But tha dragons are wise and sometimes even just. Once this be all over, ya should be able to reason tha them" he said.

"Something which could not be said for Ahn'Qiraj" Malagav added with his voice deeper than others.

"They're right" Shandris spoke as she walked forward and stopped until she stood in front of him "out of all the DragonFlights, the bronze may be the most zealot in their duty. They will not like the wall being brought down without permission" he looked down and sighed "but we don't have a choice" she looked up right at him "we have to get in there"

He looked at her closely for a moment, thinking about the consequences of what he might do. He knew that based on everything he's seen, he needs to help this force get into this city but at the same time he'd piss off a bunch of Dragons. Which he knew nothing about, hell Dragons might mean something else completely from his own definition of the word. To him a Dragon is a large fire breathing lizard, to these guys it could be anything from a wise sage or stupidly powerful magic user.

He nodded "alright" he said turning to the Orc "then I suggest you get your forces ready if I can bring it down" to which he still wasn't sure.

Saurfang gave him another sceptical look but in the end after looking him up and down, he nodded and turned back to the tent. Issuing commands to the others, who they themselves didn't argue and started to move. Kal stayed there for a moment, looking at the wall, thinking about the best way to go about this. He almost didn't notice Shandris walking up to him "can you bring it down?" she asked, crossing her arms as she starred at the wall with him.

"I don't know" he answered honestly "If it were just a wall, even if it was pure diamond, I could bring it down in a few seconds. But magic... it makes things much more complicated"

She glanced over towards him "you have to try, if you're as powerful as you said back during the trial. You should be able to do it" it was clear she was trying to encourage him and to be fair he did appreciate it.

"What will you be doing?" he asked calmly.

"I'll be joining Windstryke in the offensive, we'll be helping keep the skies clear with the mages" she answered as she turned around "don't make us wait for too long, we can't afford to lose this" then she was gone heading off to what he assumed would be the other archers.

He watched her go for a moment before turning back to the wall. Deciding that he shouldn't wait much longer, Kal started to float into the air. Ignoring the sideways looks he got as he did so, he zeroed in on dead centre of the large circler stone door in the middle of the war. His hands clasped into fists and he felt his muscles contract and strain, as if bursting to escape his skin. He could feel the power within him, the strength to shatter worlds.

His body twisted in the air and he pulled his right arm back, he closed his eyes took a deep breath. Then moved.

To everyone underneath him, he was just gone. Nothing remaining but a gust of wind, however before they could even realize he was gone a sound shattered the air around them and a force similar to a gust of wind almost knocked most of them over. Those who weren't in shock at what happened quickly turned to the wall just in time to see a large silver see through wall in front of the black one become much more visible. To those who were here when the first wave attacked the wall, they knew that is what happened to the magical barrier when they themselves tried to get through it.

But unlike before there was a large section similar to a crack forming in the middle, then there was another loud bang & another. With every blow the crack in the shield got larger and larger. For Saurfang who marched his way in front of the front lines, a grim smile on his face as he saw the work of Kal. One thing was clear now, this was working, the barrier wouldn't be up for much longer and when it went, they would storm Ahn'Qiraj and bring an end to this madness.

Ok guys, I'll call it here. I know it's not as long as some would like but it felt like the right place, next chapter we get to the raid. I know this took longer than you'd think but I did say in the last story that I was going on a 2 week holiday so in case you didn't know that's why it took so long.

Anyway, let me know what you think in the reviews.

Next chapter Update: Project Atlas
