Chapter 128

Unaccustomed Desire

Edward

"WHATTT ...?" I startled as something slipped into my consciousness. Terms like pregnancy, elopement, quitting school, Esmé in the context of destruction. My car?

I looked up and the four youths were laughing at the top of their lungs.

I ran my hands through my hair erratically.

They had made a fool of me. And rightly so, I had to admit. It had never happened before that I didn't listen to my children. I had made no coffee, fetched no rolls, prepared no breakfast. Instead, I had only sensual thoughts for Bella.

But then I cleared the table at vampiric speed, and we humbly apologized to our children for our inattention.

As a bribe, we handed them the presents from the Advent calendar that were intended for today, but today they all contained only sweets.

Except mine, of course. In my package was a Christmassy verse. Everyday life had us again! I had to go to school and Bella ... well. I had no idea. She simply did not tell me what she did during those hours alone. I had already toyed with the idea of secretly pursuing her, because my curiosity rose immeasurably. What kept me from doing so? She might want to surprise me with something. After all, Christmas was coming soon. Besides, that wouldn't exactly indicate that I trusted my angel. However, each additional day made me understand why Alice was so upset with me when I was gone every day, but she didn't know where I was. After all, we were both used to knowing everything all the time because of our gifts.

The kids had already left. Marcus was first, as usual, because he had to drive all the way to Portland and pick up his sister beforehand.

I stood with Bella at the stairs and said goodbye to my angel with a heavy heart.

I found it harder than usual, which I attributed to the heady and childless afternoon. I was also quite surprised at the decorations that encompassed our entire house outside. I had not noticed that my siblings had been there.

School successfully distracted me from my longing thoughts.

Even before school, I was no longer thinking exclusively about Bella. Nevertheless, the unusually strong desire to see her again as soon as possible remained. It was much more powerful than before this long weekend.

Leah and I stood holding hands with the large group that consisted of my twins' friends and my family.

Leah and I kept up this facade that we were together. My children's good friends knew the truth, of course, but they were also the ones who knew Marcus. It saved us both from annoying pick-up attempts from others and also explained how their group had expanded to include us vampires. Brandon and Lisa were one heart and one soul. They didn't argue as sillily as they used to. In fact, they were a good match.

I boxed against Emmett's shoulder as we heard why Jason just pulled Jake and Brandon away from the group a bit and Emmett started chuckling. They were whispering, yet we of course caught every word.

Jason wanted some background information from the two of them and he was more than embarrassed. The topic was sex. He knew how to do it in theory, of course. But he wondered how to do it in the most sensible way. To prepare and plan everything so that nothing went wrong or just let it happen? Make the place of the event romantic? With music and candles and stuff? The place in general. Were Claire and he even ready or would they just know when it would be the best moment?

The boys arranged to meet at Brandon's house after school to discuss this in more detail.

School passed uneventfully and so I hurried home.

Bella lay on the sofa and slept.

Peaceful as an angel. Nevertheless, I was a little worried.

She was lying on the sofa, covered and with a pillow under her head. According to this, she had deliberately lain down.

She didn't do that otherwise. If she did, she fell asleep while reading on the lounger or later in the evening while watching TV, if the set was switched on for once.

I gently stroked over her face.

No fever and heartbeat and breathing were steady. Both stumbled a bit, but that was because of me.

I smiled at this reaction.

Bella quickly perked up and kissed me gently.

"I was just a little tired. It was a bit much today at ..." she broke off in mid-sentence and I pricked up my ears.

At? Where was she the days when she was not here? And why was she doing something that was apparently exhausting?

She smiled diabolically.

"Forget it!" she mocked my already winning smirk.

Crap. Rejoiced too soon. I'd probably never find out. The thought of secretly pursuing her was becoming more and more appealing. But then, I had ways and means of rendering Bella will-less.

"Tell me what you spend your time doing!" I whispered beguilingly, caressing my way down her cheek to her sweet lips and letting my fingers gently stroke over her back. Her scent fogged me, and the desire was already growing once again in me. What was she doing with me? Where had my manners gone? I wasn't with Bella just to end up in bed with her all the time! Or on the sofa. On the floor. On the kitchen counter. In the shower ...

"I still won't tell you!" Bella then clarified as I lay naked on top of her and kissed across her neck.

I let my head fall in defeat.

That had worked so well otherwise! If love whispers brought nothing, maybe the opposite helped. Disinterest.

So I got up, got dressed again, and threw her clothes at Bella.

"The kids will be here soon," I said tonelessly, finally pushing our dining room table back together.

All weekend it had been stretched to its greatest possible length, but now it was over for the time being with all the guests.

I paid no attention to Bella with a glance.

So directly at least. I watched her through everything that was even remotely reflective. She stuck her tongue out at me behind my back.

I chuckled softly at this, but didn't let her notice.

I did my homework. Carefully and without looking up once. Only when I finished my essay in Spanish did I involuntarily look up. Thankful that the door between the dining room and kitchen had been lost at some point. I knew it stood in the basement and had been for a very long time. In the lock a spider had made itself at home.

My angel was preparing dinner in the kitchen, and I was studying her doing so. From head to toe.

Her long brown hair that was a little messy. Her eyes, fixed on the pots and pans, looked alert and shone. Her snub nose kept twitching. Her full lips curled cutely when she tasted. The sleeves of her yellow-patterned blouse rolled up a bit, revealing the distinguished pale skin of her forearms. Her perfect breasts rose and fell as she breathed. Had they become a little fuller? Unlikely. Rather, I had occupied myself a little too extensively with them. Her plump bottom moved in all possible directions. Her slender legs danced over the tiles. And my pelvis was already ready again. This can't be true! Was she still feeling like that too?

I closed my eyes so I wouldn't be distracted by Bella for once.

I thought about why the physical craving had been so intense for a few days. The impending separation after those incredible hours in Portland and then the reunion after the hunting trip. Those had been my reasons. But now it continued to persist, even though we were back in everyday life.

My cell phone rang me out of my thoughts.

I opened my eyes and looked into the delighted face of my angel, who now winced a little with the ringing.

I was not alone with my craving. A comforting thought.

I ended the phone call as quickly as possible.

"Enough dreaming?" I asked Bella teasingly.

"Not even close!" she flippantly replied, which made me chuckle.

"Well, we could make your dream a reality. Leah and Jake both have a date later," I said sweetly and was already standing by her.

Disinterest did not work. I was too weak for that. If my manhood had calmed down in the meantime, it was now full of willingness to serve again. So slowly I could understand Jake's thought processes. It had been eleven weeks since he thought, 'Maybe bleeding once a month wasn't such a bad price after all, if you were spared this public embarrassment in return.' However, I could control my physical sensations better than he could. Normally, at least. That I also smelled Bella's arousal didn't make it any easier.

I lifted her onto my hips, kissing her urgently until something boiled over behind me.

The twins came through the door in a good mood, arguing, just as we had settled the brief kitchen crisis.

It was about the Audi. That was clear. Both of them wanted to drive the fancier Audi tonight instead of the dowdy Golf.

I packed up my school things, while I got a kiss on the cheek from both of them and they immediately - still bickering - went on to the kitchen.

Bella looked at me annoyed between them.

The topic would never end with our children.

"That's still my car!" I interjected into the bickering.

My objection was overheard, and I just shook my head.

Fortunately, neither of them had the idea of simply buying a new car with their credit card. That this was quite possible with their cards, neither the twins nor my fiancée knew. I would not mind, but my angel would flip out.

I gave Bella a kiss before tutoring math three houses down.

Luces had an exam in two days and his father was indeed overwhelmed by it. As a computer scientist! Everything he programmed, every single line of code he wrote, was based on mathematics. Therefore, he was also a very good chess player. He defended himself by saying that the teacher placed special emphasis on the way of solving the problem, but that it was different from the way of calculating he had learned in his youth. Allegedly.

Emma also sat at the table and practiced writing her name with Sonya. She looked cute. She stuck out her tongue tensely, which traced the effortful lines on the paper in the air.

"Seventeenth week, if I'm not mistaken," I commented afterwards to Sonya regarding her pregnancy as I stood with her in the kitchen chatting some more.

She nodded in affirmation.

"You shouldn't stand so much and for so long now," I gently admonished her. It was her fourth child. Of course, she knew what to watch out for. But she had already been working on dinner for her family for twenty minutes without having sat down.

"Usually David helps, but he's picking up Deacon right now," she defended herself.

"What should I do?" I asked smiling. That was the only reason I had broached the subject.

So, I simmered by instruction and Sonya finally sat down on one of the bar stools.

"Ahh ..." she suddenly made.

Not a painful exclamation, rather joyfully surprised.

Nevertheless, I was immediately at her side.

She reached for my hand and placed it on her belly.

"It moved!" she beamed at me.

I immediately concentrated, but except for the faint but still racing pulsation of the growing heart, I felt nothing. Too bad.

Sonya chuckled.

"David's always missing out on something like that, too."

"What did I missed?" the latter just stepped through the door.

I cleared the field and went back to my family.

I really envied David for this experience of becoming a father.

I walked through our front door and leaned against it for another moment, listening to the thoughts of my loved ones.

The kids were sitting in their rooms doing their homework while Bella appeared to be in the bedroom. As much as I envied David, I was happy too.

First, I went to Leah, who was having some minor difficulties with math. Then I went to Jake, whose problems with economics were already a bit more developed. But he was making really good progress to understand the subject as a whole. Then I went to my angel while the kids got ready for their appointments, put away their school supplies and changed.

Bella was sorting through laundry she had taken out of the dryer earlier. Mostly underwear and a black, very appealing puff of nothing she held up in the air between her hands.

"Pretty! ... New?" I asked, already imagining how I would take it off her very leisurely and very sensually.

"Um ... Nope?" she chuckled. "I'm thinking about who this belongs to. More like Becky's or still Leah's," she looked at me questioningly and I immediately bit my lips.

To imagine my daughters in this lace-trimmed little piece was by far easier than I liked. And only Jake and Marcus' thoughts were to blame.

"And with the boxer shorts of these two, I don't understand anymore either," she complained.

"Jake! Leah!" I immediately yelled across the hall.

I put on the most serious face I could. Moreover, my tone resembled an accusation.

Therefore, the twins came creeping out of their rooms with some basic nervousness.

"Did we do something wrong?" asked Jake, both thinking about what they might have done.

I eavesdropped attentively.

Not clearing the table. Didn't wipe the glass doors after showering. Did not return glasses and plates from their rooms to the kitchen. They had stayed out overnight last night without telling us. Any brash remarks from the weekend, what Bella might have told me now. In my capacity as a family man, my gift was already very practical. What did other parents do who could not fall back on such abilities?

I smirked unnoticed and directed the way to the laundry basket for my children with a sternly raised index finger.

Bella played along, standing next to them with her arms folded in front of her chest and scowling at the twins.

With bowed heads they stood there. Waiting for what was to come.

Bella lifted the black nothing. With a look that only a mother could hold. Esmé could also look so angry and disappointed at the same time.

"Does that look familiar to either of you?" she asked matter-of-factly.

You could literally watch the twins blush.

"Me," Jake muttered.

"Put it on!" my angel demanded, throwing it towards him.

I saw how much she was now stifling her laughter.

Jake looked cutely shocked before it seemed to 'click'.

I clarified the situation and the two now sorted the laundry apart, where they partly had to think for themselves who it belonged to.

Leah and Becky were of equal physical feminine grace, but with a significant size difference. Therefore, the sorting only made difficulties for them because they did not want to spread the parts in front of us and preferably even arrange them clandestinely. That was good fodder for me!

"Don't let Becky catch a cold!" I commented as Jake pulled a delicate pink negligee from the basket and placed it on his side.

"No," Jake hemmed and hawed.

"There's some pretty fancy stuff in there!" noted Bella in a conversational tone.

"Yes," Leah mumbled without lifting her eyes.

Was this now a case for the Welfare Office? Torture of minors? At least Bella and I had our fun.

We left her alone with the laundry and went back to the living room. We still had some time until we also had an appointment. With Rose and Alice, who wanted to tell Bella about their trip to Montreal.

In addition, I thought I had gathered from my favorite sister's thoughts that she had brought something for Bella.

Armed with orange juice and chocolate, we sat down at a corner of the dining table and set up our chess set.

Bella liked to challenge me to it. She usually didn't win, but she enjoyed it when she could make it really hard for me.

And she did exactly that frequently. Her feet lay on my lap, and I gently massaged over the soles. Just so that it did not tickle. Today, however, I left out the explosive/stimulating places thereby. Let's say better, I refrained from it for now. It had been so nice to watch Bella getting sexually more and more excited. I had seen that many times in principle, but to have seen it without reeling in the feelings of arousal myself had been grandiose. The openness of Bella touched me.

"I guess you'll never have to wash our kids' laundry again," I noted after the game opened.

"That embarrassing confrontation is something they probably never want to experience again," my angel laughed, and I nodded in affirmation.

"You haven't said anything about our Christmas decorations," I then remembered. She had only left the house after me and returned before me. And when I was back here, we had been busy elsewhere.

"I like it," she said simply, and made her next move.

I paused.

Or let's say I lost my train of thought!

"Excuse me?", I asked. I could hardly believe that.

Bella smiled.

"I stood outside the house for a very long time this morning," Bella began to explain. "At first I was shocked. For some time, I stood there without moving. Sonya and Emma came over and we just stared silently at the many lights and figures. Then I must have spent ten minutes cursing Alice while Emma kept discovering new details. The big candy canes on the porch railing. The angels forming a small orchestra in front of it. The reindeer sleigh on the roof. The legs of Santa Claus peeking out of the chimney ... The longer I looked at it, the more impatient I became to see it in the dark."

I took Bella by the hand, put a jacket over her shoulders and walked with her in front of the house. It was already dark.

Alice had outdone herself. It was beautiful and the eyes of my own angel were shining.

But we didn't stay outside for long, it was too cold for that. Move by move, our game continued in a concentrated manner.

Until I sighed.

"What's wrong?" asked Bella.

"We sparked another quarrel with the underwear," I pointed upstairs, where I could hear how Jake and Leah were bickering with each other.

This time they argued about the house. My house. On Saturday night. Jake had planned a romantic evening and wanted to take Becky out to a fancy dinner first and then seduce her in front of the open fire. Leah had planned something similar. Only with the difference that she wanted to cook together with Marcus.

"What do you think is next?" I asked my chuckling angel, who I was reproducing the above conversation verbatim. "They're arguing about the car. Now already about my little house," I reflected.

"Custody?" speculated Bella laughing.

"Mhm ... If they want to argue with me about you, they will lose!" I clarified, kissed my beloved and went upstairs to end the quarrel.

"If you still remember it: You're arguing over MY house! The house where Bella and I would flee from you every weekend!" I stood in front of my children.

Their thoughts were so equally brash that I chuckled inside.

Yes, it was my house, but I was their father after all. What belonged to me was somehow also theirs. And we had never really put the 'fleeing' into practice anyway. After all, we were all too happy to be together for that. Especially at Sunday breakfast.

"But Leah's right, Jake. You've spent the night there with Becky many times. Now it's Leah's turn!" I determined.

My son narrowed his eyes in offense and stomped off to his room.

"Thanks, Dad!" said Leah, giving me a hug.

"Equal rights for all!" I replied and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

Jake opened his door indignantly, shouldered his backpack, gave me a nasty look, and left.

Determined to the Audi, while out of defiance he considered taking a hotel room with equivalent facilities for Saturday night then with Becky.

I just shook my head, amused.

As long as he didn't get the idea of buying a whole house - yes, that was also possible with the 'Black American Express' cards - it should be fine with me. Bella, however, I would not reveal anything about this plan. With that, I would trigger a telling off about how the two of them had to deal with - my - money. A tedious discussion in which I would only lose. My children were almost adults, if you looked at their vintage. Responsible and mature, if one kept in mind not only the wolfish development. However, defiant toddlers were still hidden under the fur. How I love them both!

Leah said goodbye far more kindly, already announcing that she probably wouldn't be back until breakfast but promising in that case to bring rolls. Without an offended thought, she took the Golf.

"Where did my queen go?" I asked skeptically looking at the playing board as I sat back down at the table and pulled Bella's feet back onto my lap.

"She was up to something," my angel twitched her eyebrows in feigned ignorance.

"Oh ... what?" I stated questioningly. "And what are the two of us going to do until she shows up again?" I asked, also feigning ignorance, but with a wry smile. It already tingled in anticipation inside me.

"I think that we can come up with something," my angel smiled seductively and pushed her tiptoes toward my middle.

Gruffly, I pushed the chessboard aside so that the innocent figures rolled over the table and the floor and sat Bella on the edge of the table instead ...

It became wild. It went way too fast. It took effort for me to leave our table intact. Fortunately, it was quite stable.

"Will this desire ever stop?" my angel asked me afterwards, happily gasping for air as I lay on the table with her.

"I have no idea," I meant and kissed her until the living room clock struck eight. "We still have an appointment," I reminded myself sadly.

Bella pulled an offended pout, which I kissed gently. We gathered our clothes back together and I still very carefully wiped the tabletop before we then sat in the BMW.

We had taken some more clothes for the twins that we wanted to place in their dressing room next to the front door.

The small safety stock for the two became visibly less in it. The twins had been coming here spontaneously almost all the time, but now that there was something to wear here, they didn't even take their actual clothes with them.

I let Bella off at the main building and then drove the car further around the building to the underground parking garage.

Hail was forecast, and I didn't want to subject my car to that.

I heard that no one was in the house, but the others were already on their way. They had all apparently been with Alice, which I hoped would have something to do with our wedding.

I cheerfully hurried through the many hallways and climbed the hidden stairs to the first floor. When I reached the entrance area through the small door, my heart would have stopped in fear.

Bella knelt on the doorstep to the small room. The bag with the clothes she had dropped, instead she pressed one hand against her heart, the other against her throat, as if struggling for breath. Her eyes widened in horror and tears ran incessantly down her pale cheeks.

Thanks for reading!
