The sun peaked over the roofs of the houses in the neighborhood. It wanted to be dark but the coming sunrise drew the light from everything across the town from the trees ,to cars, to streets. Everything looked like it was nighttime but the sun was fighting for its place.

April followed the usual routine. Everyday was , get up in the morning, eat breakfast, change into her clothes and pack her things up into her backpack and get ready to head out the door. Even when she wasn't in the mood to go to school, she knew it was best to follow her routines and go. Just before she opened the front door, she stopped when she heard that familiar yell,

"April.", both parents said at the same time.

She never laughed when they both yelled. They were like peanut butter jelly. They both did everything together. They came towards her at the front door, at the same time. While April was standing there in middle of her track out the front door, she turned to face her parents. Rachel and Sam were the family that loved and adored their daughter. Well, maybe not. That was the real tension. They all stood there staring at each other.

"Make sure those kids don't tease you anymore okay?", said Sam.

Rachel stood silently without saying a word. Another minute of silence had passed by, everybody had continued to look at each other. Then, April nodded to what her father had said. Then, she turned around to face the door and open it so she could be on her way to school like she had planned.
