Tanya wandered through the narrow corridors of Hogwarts express leaning out of the train windows looking for her target: Draco Malfoy, the son of Lucius and the owner of the piece of allowance that financed Tanya in Diagon Alley, naturally, she didn't know Draco by sight. However Tanya was sure she would recognize Lucius 's son at first glance, or at least she was until she saw a girl who seemed to be in the clouds who could very well be Lucius 's daughter with the blonde hair and slightly sharp complexion, it was for this reason that when she found a mini Lucius with a small arrogant smile on his face inside one of said compartments instead of instantly assuming that he was Lucius 's son she decided ask for precaution.
Draco 's gaze fell on the girl as she open the door; Draco 's first instinct strange as it may seem was to want to apologize for having done something wrong or find an excuse to hide his mistake, after the first shock Malfoy took a look at the girl and felt somewhat overwhelmed to see what for him it was the miniature version of his mother, but sooner rather than later the big difference became apparent and while their differences were perhaps bigger than their similarities Draco wondered to himself if any of his cousins were entering Hogwarts this year.
After the initial shock Draco had a little more time to look at the girl and had to wonder if it wasn't by chance a goblin that had somehow snuck onto the train, though of course there was a goblin that was as beautiful as the girl in front of him then Draco would seriously consider doing everything possible to work alongside said goblin, even so this idea quickly died as he realized that the girl's expression was in fact just as stern as a Gringotts goblin .
Malfoy speechless as did her imposing posture and diminutive stature.
In those seconds of stunned silence Tanya asked. "Are you the son of Lucius Malfoy?"
Draco snapped out of his stupor slightly and nodded. "Y-that's right, ahem, I'm Draco Malfoy"
"Okay, then I guess you wouldn't mind if I sat next to you since there's no one else in the compartment." Draco seemed to want to say something else but it was too late when Tanya arranged her carry-on and sat down in front of Draco. "Well Drako , it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Tanya Von D-ahem, Tanya Smith, your father seems to be quite proud of you, I hope to get along with you during this next school term."
Draco nodded slowly, somewhat thrown off by all this, Smith? No, before that I mention Von D. as his last name; Smith was too common a surname to be the name of a wizarding family he knew of, so Von D.? Acquaintance of your father? was she undercover maybe? No matter how much he thought about it, Malfoy was sure there was something fishy here, plus he seemed to have a strange accent from the way he pronounced his name and there was a strange air of dignity and nobility to his movements that Draco couldn't ignore ; Tanya was wearing low-quality clothing, but that only furthered his idea that Tanya was some kind of supernatural being in disguise; Based on her slightly foreign accent, she could be a fairy or some kind of supernatural being from Germany , even a doppelganger .
So many questions gnawed at his head. "Tanya , maybe it's rude of me to ask this, but are you a fairy by any chance?"
Malfoy noticed that Tanya tensed the moment he mentioned the fairies, Tanya for her part shook her head and answered in a slightly forced tone. "No, I'm not a fairy, although I'm flattered that you think I'm as pretty as a fairy."
An eyebrow rose on Malfoy 's face as he reminded fairies that fairies weren't the most precious beings on earth, on the contrary, there were some that were horrendous but he had never personally seen a fairy in person so no. he could tell for sure, but that was curious though.
"Do you think fairies are cute Tanya?" the boy asked.
Tanya was stunned for a second wondering if she should lie and about passing for a pretty girl to gain the benefit of siding with the Malfoys , after careful thought about dignity and money Tanya told herself that even if this was an opportunity to earn some easy money if what you really wanted was money you could always earn money some other way... And if the end of the year was coming and you still didn't have the funds to get rid of your debt (caused by an old hag in Knockturn Alley ) from the root then I would consider it thoroughly; Rather than how a pretty and poor girl Tanya decided to show herself as someone worthy of respect in front of Draco , she didn't know enough about this magical world to know how useful these connections could be.
"I don't think that fairies are particularly cute, instead I'm rather indifferent towards them, even so I feel that there is something magical about them that could be categorized as majestic or, as you said before, 'cute' so if at all staff could consider them unpleasant entities I would say that the magic of these beings is undeniable."
Draco nodded slowly as he realized the question was being slightly evaded from one that made Tanya sound smart.
"I see, I love how you think, to think that it's magic that makes those flying mosquitoes special, heh, that's a good way of looking at it, I hope to see you in Slytherin, I feel like you have the material for it."
Tanya looked out the window as Hogwarts express started to move.
" Slytherin? I do not consider myself a very ambitious person, personally I value hard work and it will sound somewhat arrogant but I am an intelligent person so I easily see myself in Ravenclaw, also, Professor Flitwitch is a very kind person and I would not mind being with him."
Draco smirked, making Tanya think how much alike fathers are to sons .
"No, without a doubt you have Slytherin material, tell me, what is your greatest ambition?"
Tanya sighed slightly. "It's not a big deal, I just want a quiet retreat in a beach house."
Draco scratched his head thinking that maybe he was wrong. "Hmm? And what do you plan to retire from?"
Tanya shrugged as she sighed near the window covering part of it with steam. "I haven't decided yet, but the higher position I have in the ministry I guess the longer my retirement will be, so Minister of magic maybe? Although such a public position will be fraught with problems so an administration position will suffice preferably in some HR sector."
Draco put a hand to his forehead. " Minister of Magic... are you so sure you're going to get it that your ambition isn't to get it but what to do next? I don't know if that's the coolest or stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life." While Malfoy was lost in thought Tanya drew a person's face on the window, she was not a great artist but you could see long hair and kind eyes of a person, Draco heard nothing but Tanya 's lips they moved in a slight "I miss you ".
Draco's father's friends so he openly accepted them on the bum and although they seemed somewhat curious about Tanya's family, Crabbe and Goyle were intimidated by the crowd beauty and seriousness of Tanya. Even so, the trip was somewhat calm and although talking with Tanya was somewhat complicated by her strange way of behaving and speaking, which only further reinforced Draco 's theory that she was a fairy pretending to be human, in general, all conversations with Tanya had some kind of added value and brimming with intelligence despite a lack of knowledge about the wizarding world.
After changing clothes (Tanya in a separate compartment) surprises followed as he realized that she was wearing the male uniform, suddenly the doubt of whether she was in fact a very feminine boy settled in Draco's mind.
And finally they arrived at the magical castle of Hogwarts, Draco did not let it show on his face but he was very surprised by the imposing castle that stood over the lake, on the other hand Tanya 's gaze was lost in the crowd of students and finally he noticed the giant Hagrid who stood in front of them, as always the first years they went aboard boats across the lake towards the castle, in one of said boats were Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and Tanya , their topics of conversation were respectful and varied but largely circled around pure-blood wizarding families, a topic Tanya found quite interesting, Draco was unaware of her motives but she was actively asking questions about the wizarding world that might be so obvious you'd look like an idiot asking and others that none of them knew the answers, while Crabbe began to suspect something about Tanya 's origins, Goyle was too mesmerized by the elegance in Tanya 's words that demonstrated a unique degree of dignity, pride and wisdom.
Draco He also joined the conversation curious about Tanya 's connection to his father but he couldn't get anything clear beyond that "Both were partners in a common business " without going so far as to mention exactly what the business relationship was or that the Draco 's father was investing in Tanya 's future .
At the end of this journey the four followed Hagrid to the castle where someone else led them inside, the (with all due respect for the word) straight-eyed old witch in a pointy hat named McGonagall greeting them with a serious speech about the houses mentioning that the house that will earn the most points throughout the year would win the house cup. "During your stay at Hogwarts your houses will be your families." It would finally be time for the selection when Draco noticed Tanya approaching a black-haired boy he didn't recognize at first.
"Hey, it's good to see you again, Potter." Suddenly the crowd began to murmur at the mention of Potter.
Harry swallowed before answering, noting the sound of whispers from the audience. "It's good to see you too. Ah, let me introduce you to Ron Weasley." Tanya looked at the boy in sloppy clothes with a raised brow. "Wasly? I think I've heard your name somewhere."
Draco stepped into the conversation at this point with a smirk. "Tanya , don't bother with Wasly although they are a pureblood family they are so poor that they would appreciate even a fifth of my allowance."
Tanya frowned at that comment remembering how much money Lucius had given her. Malfoy , at that moment, noticed the boy's obviously reused clothing and wondered aloud with genuine curiosity "How can a family of wizards be poor?" Ron's face turned red with rage.
"I'm Weasley! Not Wasly! And my family is not poor!"
Tanya looked at Ron with cold indifference. "We-asly the first step to improve is to recognize the weak points of oneself, know yourself, know your enemy and you will win all your battles, only fools settle for mediocrity Wasly." Ron's face turned Redder even if possible while clenching her fists "ahem, leaving this aside, my pleasure, I'm Tanya Smith." Tanya held out a hand that was knocked aside by Ron, Tanya looked coldly at both Ron and Harry for a moment. "It's... a pity that our conversation will start off on the wrong foot." Tanya's gaze seemed to be actively trying to hide her disgust at this action and failing epically sending shivers down Ron's spine.
Draco for his part smiled with a confident pose and spoke. "Tanya , won't you introduce us to Potter?"
She looked at Draco and nodded, then stepped forward and positioned herself between Ron and Harry with her back to Ron at all times as she closed the circle isolating Ron from the conversation. "These are Drak , Crabbe and Goyle, friends without a doubt and wise people who do not settle for mediocrity, I hope we will all be good friends in the future."
Ron tried to mock Draco's name, but Tanya went on as if he didn't exist. "I was looking for you on the Hogwarts express when I met them, it would be great if we all ended up in the same house to establish a friendship and even if we don't end up in the same house, I hope to be able to establish a friendship in the future". A strange smile appeared on Tanya's face , however Harry slowly shook his head.
"I think I'm wise enough to know who or who I can't make friends with."
The smile slowly faded from Tanya's face, however she didn't seem to care about this rejection as if it wasn't a big deal, and meanwhile Draco was rather offended. "A pity, do not forget that the offer is always open." Pronounced the girl shrugging her shoulders. "Even if we're not friends I hope to have a healthy and respectful relationship as partners for the rest of the year, I wish you luck Harry."
Harry for his part nodded slowly, somewhat confusedly at the mysterious girl who had just made fun of his friend so openly but still behaved friendly or rather elegant and dignified before him without showing any sign of arrogance beyond a look of absolute confidence in him. herself and although everything in her being, from her posture, to her look and tone indicated that she was treating others as if they were inferior or almost as if they were children in front of a great magician, her words did not seem to want to force her will on others, or not for now at least. "Y-yes, I guess you're right, I wish you luck too."
At that moment, the door to the great hall opened and Professor McGonagall motioned for them to enter the great hall...
Tanya let a tired sigh come out of her mouth, the first more or less normal boy she had seen and greeted in Olivanders just said that he didn't want to be her friend, she wanted to take things a little easier in this new life since there was no wizarding war in the background and her one great ambition was to retire with a good salary from the ministry of magic, what harm would it do him to be social for once in his three lives? However, her patience was short, years of fighting in a war losing comrades day after day until she ended up dying in the most lame situation of all had embittered her soul, that's why when she heard about Weasley and that it was a pure-blood family who lived in poverty felt some rejection, she herself was not indifferent to the idea of poverty, in her last two lives she has experienced first-hand what it is like to have neither money nor family, on the other hand the attitude of denial of Ron made her sick. In the end, no matter what world you find yourself in, there will always be conformist idiots with no aspirations for a better life and getting out of poverty.
On the other hand, she was quite happy with the contacts she made on the train, the three children of important families and both Crabbe and Goyle seemed like stupid children easily moldable for her purposes, she said that she would be more sociable in this life and of course she would. But what are friends if not a great shield of meat or in this case a portfolio of influence? Tanya's mind flew to her old comrades that she trained by hand and with whom she fought hand to hand to the death feeling somewhat guilty, however said guilt died quickly, indeed, they were more than friends, they were her family, her true family and even if it took her a long time to stop seeing them as mere meat shields.
Whether Crabbe, Goyle and Draco would ever be better than just friends remained to be seen, either way Tanya suspected their relationship would never be as strong as two comrades fighting hand to hand in no man's land, in the cold winter or in the hot desert, it's not like she wanted to go through that again either but without a doubt these were tests that differentiated the cowards and the good for nothing from the people who will die next to you. From what she had spoken with them on the train, the three of them lacked these abilities, in a certain way Tanya felt slightly reflected in them, but in the worst possible way, all her disorders that made her such an evil person seemed to be present as well in them, although in much smaller measures, either that or they were good at hiding their truths behind masks, which did not speak well of a person either. But hey, Tanya at least found value in the intelligence and skillful tongue they displayed, it was something she appreciated much more than Weasley 's strange pride in his family, really, why would he be offended when Tanya just wanted to give him advice? that had irritated her quite a bit.
However, all the grumpiness in the world vanished into thin air as if it had never existed the moment she stepped into the great hall.
Her jaw dropped to the floor as he looked at the four tables full of students, the thousands of candles floating on nothing in midair, that starry ceiling that seemed to indicate that there was nothing above their heads but the night sky, that over there? was it a ghost? Ghosts?! Th-was that possible?
Her head was spinning non-stop from left to right, thinking of all the formulas he would have to apply to lift so many candles into the air, and how do you simulate a sky on the ceiling? all this while keeping her mind away from the idea of being able to continue living in this world as a ghost after death, could that even be called magic? Seriously, this was taking its toll on her mind and she would have to see if there was some school psychologist with whom she could talk about all the physical laws that were being violated in this establishment in just the dining room.
What would be in the rest of the castle? Biting books perhaps, communists doing finances and being properly rewarded for hard work, bureaucrats doing their job and taking the blame for their own mistakes, and if it's from dreaming of impossible things, her battalion smiling at her and buying ger a meal as if they never had died? a chill traced Tanya 's back as she settled into a row in the middle of the large dining room.
Apparently a "selection" would take place to indicate each person's house, Tanya 's eyes then fell on the teachers' table and she met a small and cheerful Flitwick waving at her from the table, a small and innocent smile appeared on Tanya's face as she discreetly waved back; To Tanya 's regret , on the other hand, a quick glance around the teachers' table confirmed that the tendency to dress as some extravagant or mysterious wizard character was also present among the teachers, one that caught everyone's attention was a type of severe face, black hair and black cape, if you asked Tanya who at the table was a vampire in disguise she would point to the professor with a purple turban on his head because the guy with black hair and pale complexion didn't even bother to disguise and to assume that he was in disguise would be an insult to true disguises.
Putting aside whether or not vampires were real, Tanya glanced at the headmaster who was smiling a warm smile at everyone and she could swear their eyes met for a moment.
However, the much acclaimed selection happened and Tanya was stunned when a wrinkled old hat came to life and began to sing a song about the virtues of houses and a thousand shits that made Tanya repulsed because she could not deny that it was funny in to some degree despite how childish it was.
Then the tough-looking teacher who answered to the name McGonagall started calling out the names of the students to put the hat on their heads and although they looked ridiculous sooner or later the hat ended up spitting out the name of the house they belonged to, although saying sooner or later was an exaggeration, taking into account that there were times when the hat screamed the name as soon as it brushed against a person's head or those times when it took several minutes to decide. Tanya by her last name was among the last in line so she got ready to wait a bit, during which time she thought about which house she would be placed in, Gryffindor was a big no-no she had had enough adventure in her life with a world war in her lifetime, surely someone had to die she wouldn't be the brave fool who jumped into danger for the power of friendship or some similar crap, instead Tanya could quite appreciate Hufflepuff 's hard work mentality however something in the way the sorting hat described them reminded her dangerously of the communists so the further she stayed away from them the better. In the end Slytherin and Ravenclaw seemed the only viable options and although she knew that the decision was in the "hands" of the hat in the end this could well change her future and determine her path in this life...
"Tanya Smith"
Professor McGonagall 's scream snapped Tanya out of her stupor, Tanya shook her head and walked over to the stool where she sat looking at all the students in the common room for a few moments before the sorting hat covered her view.
Suddenly a surprised "Oh!" filled his ears.
"ho ho ho, what a full head you have girl, you are different from the innocent boys who are selected, you have a well-formed mind and some rather curious preconceptions "
Tanay frowned. Was this hat getting on her head?
"Don't worry about it, it's just a little glimpse to get to know you, I won't tell anyone about your past lives major."
Tanya screwed up her face and it was only by sheer force of will that she didn't stand up and smash the sorting hat into a thousand pieces while screaming for it to stay out of her head, she'd had more than enough with entities rummaging through her memories and reading her thoughts.
The hat chuckled lightly in her ear. "Oh, I would never dare call myself a god or anything, I'm just a clumsy old patched up smelly hat with some judgment, would you let me get inside your head a bit? I promise I won't judge anything I will see."
Tanya tilted her head wearily as she nodded slowly.
"Let's see then... um ... you're quite a peculiar person aren't you?"
"I can still tear you into a thousand pieces"
"Oh please don't do that, I don't want you to get kicked out in your first day."
"If I'm going to be expelled I'll make sure to slowly tear you apart and burn every single piece of you."
"Understood, um ... you're... someone proud enough, in fact your pride sometimes gets you into trouble, bragging that you know better in front of a mysterious entity is both brave and proud, you've always had a hard work mentality , to meet your goals no matter how much work it takes you but also no matter who or what you run over along the way and despite being someone intelligent you are not purely curious or you are hungry for pure and hard knowledge, instead you see knowledge as a form of power and a way to impose yourself on others, despite everything, your pride can only be overshadowed by your fierce mind and ability to keep a cool head in most situations, you have achieved both good and bad things with this ability but you have always done it for your own good, I will not deny that you have been forced by your circumstances to act as you have done, but despite everything you always look for a way to get ahead and look for your happiness, your comfort, even if you have to fight the whole world, even if you have to deny the existence of a supposed god to his face; you could be in Gryffindor , Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw yet your ambition and determination to deny the will of a higher being to its face as you rise above all odds no matter what the means while using your bravery, hard work and intelligence as tolls to get ahead, that makes you a worthy SLYTHERIN"
The sorting hat yelled the last word, causing the table to the left of the large dining room to clap and cheer, Malfoy nodded happy to know that he had hit the nail on the head with her and even though the Slytherins didn't know the last name Smith it was impossible for a Mudblood to have been accepted into Slytherin ... right?
Tanya slowly removed the hat from her head with a complicated face unable to decide if she was going to destroy the hat or not, instead for the sake of her school life she would leave this revenge pending, this time she just roughed him up a bit for rummaging through his mind and questioning her questionable actions, Tanya was quite aware of her flaws as a person, she didn't need a magic hat to remind her of that, uncomfortable with the memories of the war and being X rolling through her brain Tanya walked to the Slytherin table with a sour face
Author's note.
Finally Tanya came out !
Tthe reason why this chapter is a little late is Bocchi 's One-shot the rock X Chainsaw man I'm working on and well, maybe due to a little lack of motivation, the first half of the chapter is not as good as I would like, but I love the entrance to the great dining room even if Tanya 's thoughts are a bit thick.
Here there is my final decision regarding Tanya and her house, there is no better house for Tanya than Slytherin, without a doubt her hard work, her intelligence and her courage are all tools to fulfill her goal in life.
Also worth noting that I wasn't sure how to spell Weasley so Tanya mispronounces Ron's last name to keep myself canonical , now Tanya mispronounces " Wasly " ," Flitwitch " and "Drako" (this one was intentional), I hope this count doesn't increase and it do not bother u a lot...
Now it's time to write a little more about Bocchi and Maple, the other fanfics I'm working on. God, so much to write... And I want to write more! HELP! THIS IS MASOCHISM !
atte.
"actually , I love the feets"
J-More
P.S. Seriously, the bocchi oneshot will be my Magnum Opus for now, I'm going all-out on this shit and it 's pure shit but shit shit, and the best shit in the world, I'm not leaving anything out and it will cover the entire first season of CSM. And when I say that it will be shit, I don't say it for nothing, but because I really went wild on it and I'm thinking of going totally wild. It will not be my Magnum Opus for nothing but it still needs a lot of work, this oneshot is almost as long as two chapters of Tanya and I'm barely on chapter 3 of the anime in terms of plot :C
