Krabs stared out to the wide oceans, not knowing exactly what he was looking for, but at least looking for something. It had been a week and 3 days since they set sail, and according to the map, Skull island should be right ahead. Spongebob, who was out on deck with everyone else, walked up to him and asked,
"How much longer till we get there Mr Krabs?"
"Not too long now, boy."
As Krabs said that, he suddenly noticed a large cloud of fog outside of the ship. Inside the ship at the steering spot, one of the sailors asked Coralhorn,
"Fog off the port bow! Ok captain, it's your call!"
"Helmsman, 2 and a half points south by southwest."
The ship sailed into the huge fog bank, blinding everyone on deck. Covering his eyes, Squidward muttered,
"Gah, I can't see a thing in this fog."
Krabs somehow recognized this fog. Quickly, he pulled out the map and began analyzing it. Yes, around the island…was a huge fog cloud. They were practically there. Suddenly, the ship began to shallow. It kept getting more and more frequent, and the first mate yelled to the crew,
"All engines half!"
After a few more minutes the fog finally cleared, and everyone saw a beach. And above that beach, a wall. And above that wall slightly off to the left, was a mountain in the shape of a skull. Krabs smirked. They had made it. The sight was marvelous from the beach, surrounded by steep cliffs and strangled over its surface by a large jungle.
Krabs asked his cameraman,
"Are ye getting this Steve?"
"Affirmative, sir."
Krabs then noticed Coralhorn walking on deck, and told him,
"We're going ashore ol' buddy. Let's go!"
Coralhorn, apprehensive about going on an unknown island they had literally just found, told Mr Krabs,
"Alright Eugene, how many men are we gonna need for this?"
"Myself, Mr Squidward, Spongebob, Patrick, the mammal, er Sandra I think her name was, and 5 others. You too."
Coralhorn nodded, and everyone who was going to go to the island got in boats. The boats were loaded with the firearms and gas bombs, and they were then hoisted down. The boats set off towards the island, and as they grew closer, Spongebob looked at Sandy. Especially against the sun, he felt this feeling he had never felt before. At least he couldn't remember feeling like this before.
Stammering, he told Sandy,
"W-Wow..you look…..beautiful."
Sandy was not expecting to hear this. Blushing a little, she said,
"Oh! Well uh…..thanks, Spongebob."
They eventually came ashore, and as they got off the boats Spongebob breathed in, taking in the morning air. Squidward remarked,
"I could have a vacation here. If I got paid enough to be able to go on vacation."
If Krabs did hear him, he didn't show it. The group then began to head upwards into the village towards the wall. As they got closer, they started to hear drums and chanting in the distance. Spongebob and Patrick huddled together in concern upon hearing this, everyone then began to move slower to avoid detection, with Krabs taking the lead.
As the part got closer, the calls became more clear. It was a group of people shouting,
"Kong! Kong! Kong! Kong!"
When they reached the village, everyone hid behind a shrub as Krabs looked over and saw what appeared to be a celebration with a ton of natives. They were all kinds of species and wearing knotted clothing made out of their hair, as well as teeth, feathers and small animal bones. Mr Krabs was amazed by the show, telling Stephen,
"Gimmie that camera, this is gonna make great footage!"
Steve did so, and Mr Krabs began filming the ritual. Meanwhile, Spongebob and Patrick were whispering to each other in a panicked tone, Spongebob asking Patrick,
"What are these guys doing?"
"Patrick, equally scared, replied,
"I don't know."
"What if they're cannibals?"
"I don't know what that word means!"
As Spongebob and Patrick were shaking in fear, Mr Krabs slowly sneaked out of the bush to get a better angle. However, this proved to be a poor decision, as the witch doctor of the village noticed him moving. He whispered to the leader of the tribe, a large, bulky lobster who bore a striking resemblance to Larry, and the leader yelled while pointing at Krabs,
"Tuponga!"
Realizing the jig was up, Mr Krabs froze and put his hands up. He turned to the crew and told them,
"They see us, lads."
Panicking, Spongebob got up and attempted to run away, but Squidward caught him by the back of his shirt and asked him,
"Where do you think you're running off too?"
Panicking a little, Krabs told the others,
"Put yer hands up!"
The others did so and slowly walked up beside Krabs. The tribe leader then walked down to them and began talking to them in a language that Krabs didn't understand. He asked Coralhorn,
"Do you know what those guys are saying?"
"Well, their language sounds like a more primitive version of a language I heard during one of my trading missions."
"That means Ye can get through to them!"
"...I'll try."
Coralhorn then began to talk with the native leader. The leader yelled something in a booming voice, and Coralhorn told Krabs,
"He's asking what the meaning of this intrusion is."
"Tell him that we don't mean harm and that we come in peace."
Coralhorn did so and the leader became silent for a bit, sighing intimidatingly tilting his head back in a commanding manner. Krabs then noticed a fish woman up at an alter by the wall, with a necklace of flowers around her neck and a headband of flowers around her head. A curious Krabs asked,
"What's this celebration of yer's for?"
Coralhorn related the message, and the tribe leader responded in his native tongue by saying,
"There is no celebration here, only a sacrifice. She is the wife of Kong. When Kong is pleased, life is peaceful. When Kong is not, life is horror."
The witch doctor then began hysterically screaming at them. Coralhorn translated to Mr Krabs,
"He's saying that the ritual has been spoiled by us seeing it. Kong will be displeased. We will all feel Kong's wrath."
The villagers all let out frightened gasps and began murmuring to each other. The enraged tribe leader wondered how they could fix this. The witch doctor then noticed something bright. It was shining and reflecting off the sun. It was Sandy's wig. The villagers had never seen a blonde before, let alone a mammal.
The witch doctor pointed to her and told the tribe leader in their native language,
"The ritual can still be saved. Kong will definitely be pleased with her and this might get rid of him for good, or at least a longer time than usual."
Upon hearing this, the tribe leader's face turned grim. He said something to the group, and Coralhorn translated,
"Please give us the golden haired furred woman to give to Kong. In return for your loss we will give you 6 of our own women."
Sandy immediately yelled,
"LIKE HECK I'M GONNA BE YER SACRIFICE!"
She prepared to rush at the natives, but Spongebob put his arms out in front of her and said,
"Now now, Sandy, calm down. If we just calmly say no to these natives, I'm sure they'll just let us leave, hehe…."
Krabs noticed this and simply nonchalantly told the natives,
"No deal, but we'll be back to make friends tomorrow wit' some other tidings that'll make up fer it. Unless ye happen t'ave gold on ye."
A shocked Spongebob said,
"Mr Krabs!"
"Fine, fine. Let's go."
They all turned around and Mr Krabs waved to the natives to disguise the tension they were all feeling. The natives were not amused, and the crew quickly left. On the way back, Spongebob and Squidward began talking.
"So, Squidward….what are you planning to do here?"
"That's your best idea for a conversation starter?"
"No I….but…..I'm scared."
"Come on, we'll just go to the other side of the island."
"But…they want to sacrifice Sandy to…..Kong."
"He's just a superstition."
"Yeah, but…."
Spongebob looked back to the village, the huge wall casting an ominous shadow over it. He then looked back to Squidward and said,
"Why would they build that wall if there was nothing to keep out?"
