Author's note: Hi, everyone! Whether you're re-reading this fic after it was taken off of AO3 or if you're new, thank you so much for reading. This chapter will not be containing the bulk of Eda's Requiem. Though there was technically a B-plot involving Luz, the episode was pretty much entirely from Eda's POV, and since she isn't around to provide memories, it was unfortunately not possible with the format I chose to do this really good episode. Instead, this chapter will include the Owl Pellets shorts and the Chibi Tiny Tales episodes, both of which can be found on Youtube in the United States. On the bright side, I will be doing Them's the Breaks, Kid thanks to the memory vial Luz found during the chapter for Separate Tides. Alas, I couldn't think of an in character reason for Eda to provide a memory vial for Eda's Requiem, since that was an intensely personal and emotional experience for her which she wouldn't plausibly want to share with Luz, whereas Them's the Breaks, Kid was a story that she had already told Luz in the frame for that episode. Them's the Breaks, Kid will be included AFTER Hollow Mind instead of before it, because these kids are going to need a breather after that one.

Hunter couldn't believe his luck. Almost literally. Camila adopting him seemed far too good to be true. A part of him thought he might just wake up from a dream and be about to start the last episode, or even be back in the palace. But so far, reality had seemed to persist. Camila had been happily referring to him as her son, and both Vee and Luz felt no resentment towards adding a brother into the mix. In fact, Camila had been on the phone with Eda's ex-husband, trying to convince him to make fake IDs for both him and Vee.

"All right, it took a lot of convincing, but Pines finally agreed to make documentation for you too, Hunter," Camila said as she returned to the basement. "So from now on, you're my adoptive son, Hunter Noceda. You grew up in Gravity Falls, Oregon. You were removed from your uncle's care and placed into foster care with my second cousin Daniela Ramirez. She actually exists, by the way; I had no clue I had family in that area. But Mrs. Ramirez already has a grandchild to look after, so she sent you to live with me."

Vee turned towards her. "What about me?"

"Well, your name on the paperwork will be Victoria Noceda, but you can still call yourself Vee as a nickname," Camila said. "We're going to say you were also raised by Belos to explain why neither of you know as much about human stuff as you should. You're going to need to find a new look, something original."

Vee clapped her hands in excitement. "I'm finally part of the family! I mean, officially," she quickly added.

"Mrs. Noceda –" Camila put her hands on her hips. "Mom, sorry," Hunter said, unable to stop himself from grinning a bit. "That's gonna be hard to get used to. Thank you so much."

"My pleasure, mijo," Camila said. "That means my son, you know. Like mija means my daughter." Hunter's grin got even wider. "All right, well, what's next?"

Luz coughed and shifted uncomfortably. "Ah. Right. See…okay, so King and I decided to enter the Gland Prix, a flying race. If we won, we'd get interviewed by Mr. Porter, and that way King could get a message out to everyone he was looking for his dad! But…we lost."

"Well, that sounds fun to watch regardless!" Camila said.

Luz looked at the floor. "Well…there was an accident in photo class and…I don't have any memories of the race anymore. But I do know that after we lost, we decided to make a video on Penstagram. Oh, and Eda was off doing some B plot of her own. Super emotional. Raine recruited her to join a rebel movement. But Raine got caught captured by the Emperor's Coven. That's really all I know."

Amity raised a hand. "I have memories of seeing the video! Can I show them to her?"

"Sure, why not? Oh, it was really something, mom – we were trending for days!"

King: Eda, who's even gonna watch this?

Camila laughed at the dramatic irony. She hoped one day she'd get a chance to meet Luz's little brother. Hell, she'd probably end up adopting him too, though, alas, it would not be possible to do so officially. Manny had always wanted a large family. She knew he'd get along so well with her new children.

Eda: No one watches crystal balls anymore. It's all about streaming.

King: All right. Hi, Dad. If you're out there watching this, I uh, want to introduce myself.

[As King continues talking, Willow is shown watching the video in her room, with Clover perched on her head.]

King: I like cheesy foods and conquering kingdoms. Though I haven't conquered any of my own yet.

"I keep on having to come up with excuses not to eat those cheesy foods he likes," Luz said.

"Why not just tell him you're lactose intolerant?" Camila wondered.

"Because I like coming up with those excuses. It's like improv for me."

[Amity, Emira, and Edric are also shown, watching at their manor.]

King: But maybe you have, and we can compare notes. I'd love to meet you. We could do parent kid stuff, toss a ball, burn some cookies, catch me going on weird websites or something.

Camila shivered a little. She'd quickly learned a long time ago that with regards to Luz's internet forays, a don't ask don't tell policy was best for both of their sanities.

Also, I found a symbol in the tower I hatched in. Maybe you can teach me to read it. I live with my favorite human and a cranky old witch.

"And you're my favorite – uh, maybe co-favorite demon?" Luz said and looked at Vee. "Do you qualify as a demon?" Vee shrugged. "Well, whatever! I love you, King, that's the point."

Eda: [Offscreen.] Hey!

King: But cranky or not, she's the one who raised me, which is why I am le... [Pulls out a stack of papers.] ..gally changing my name to King Clawthorne! [Laughs.]

Surprise, Eda! Now we're connected for life, and there's nothing you can do about it!

Eda: [Shakily.] Is that what you wanted to tell me this whole time? [Sniffs and grabs the papers.]

"Oh my gosh, did she overhear us talking and think he was planning on leaving?" Luz suddenly wondered. "Now I feel terrible."

Luz: [Pulls out a pen.] And, if you sign here, it be official. [Eda starts to cry.]

Luz: Eda, are you okay? [Eventually, Eda bursts out sobbing of joy.]

"I bet she never thought she'd be crying so much over paperwork," Luz said. "Tears of joy, that is," she clarified.

Luz: [From livestream.] Eda, if you keep doing that, [Starts to cry as well.] I'm gonna cry too! [Both Eda and Luz burst out crying.]

The memories of the video came to an end. "Aw, that was so sweet, Luz," Camila said. "I'm so glad I was able to get to see that part at least."

Luz twisted her hands nervously. "Um, mom…seeing that again…it kind of made me wonder…"

"Go on, Luz," Camila said, trying to sound encouraging.

"Would you mind if I changed my name too?" she said in one quick breath. "Would you be upset if I called myself Luz Noceda-Clawthorne?"

Camila was still somewhat shocked to learn that she, in fact, would not be. In fact, she could not think of anything more fitting. "Of course, dear. If that's what makes you happy. I don't think I'd be able to justify officially changing it, though."

"Oh, that's okay. Just as long as I know."

"Well, that last episode was…a lot," Camila said. "So I was thinking now might be a good time to show some of those slice of life memories I mentioned earlier."

"But the next episode is –"

"Please, Luz."

Luz shrugged. If Camila wanted to delay the moment she'd been waiting on for hours, then so be it. She downloaded a memory into the mirror.

[Open on Luz taping a drawing onto the fridge of her hugging Eda, who's drawing a spell circle, and King wearing sunglasses standing next to them.]

"Ooh, it's a family picture!" Camila said. "How lovely. You know, you're such a good artist, Luz."

Luz: Pretty good, huh?

"A true masterpiece," Amity said loyally. In truth, Luz had done better, but it was hardly her place to say so. And it wasn't as if it was bad.

Eda: [squinting at the drawing] What did you use to draw this?

Luz: Well, it's a common misconception that the tool is an important part of the process. As long as you've mastered the basics... [reaches into Eda's hair and pulls out lipstick]

"One time I reached into her hair and pulled out a hand grenade," Luz recalled. "I definitely didn't stick my hand in their randomly anymore." She strongly suspected that Eda had stuck the grenade in there for the very purpose of teaching Luz a lesson about putting her hand in Eda's hair.

Eda: Hey, that's my lipstick.

[Luz draws Owlbert on her hand, then moves it to make it look like his wings are flapping.]

Luz: Hoot, hoot. Then you can use pretty much anything to make a good drawing.

[Luz runs over to the table. She draws a bat monster with baby bats on a piece of bread with a bottle of mustard, then a skateboarding cat on a piece of paper with chalk. She grabs an oven mitt and runs over to the stove, flipping a pan there to reveal a pancake that looks like The Good Witch Azura, who winks.]

"Oh, you never told me you were getting into cooking, Luz!" Camila said. "Perhaps it's time to share some of the family recipes. With you too, mijos," she added to Hunter and Vee. Hunter was gobsmacked. Camila was just casually sharing ancient Noceda family secrets to a person who hadn't even been her son for a full day? Vee, on the other hand, was elated. Finally, she'd get to learn how to make empanadas Noceda style!

Luz: Yep, with practice and study, you can make fine art out of anything. [poses with a smile]

Eda: Yeah, yeah. I mostly ask because I left a cursed pencil lying around here somewhere, and...

[The drawing on the fridge glows orange where Luz, Eda, and King used to be.]

"We really should have seen that coming," Willow said in a deadpan tone.

[Cut to a cackling drawn-Luz, holding a knife. She jumps onto the stove, where drawn-Eda grabs the Azura pancake and tosses it in a blender.]

"AZURA!" Amity screamed in horror. "NO! PUREED BEFORE YOUR TIME!"

"Not even the Dark Lich could achieve such a feat," Hunter said with mock solemnity.

[She doesn't put a lid on before turning it on and makes a mess. Cut to drawn-King tossing a skull through a small window, breaking the wall in the process.]

Luz: I guess it does matter what tool you use.

Eda: Yeah, I'll go get the paper shredder.

Luz: [yells and flinches as she almost gets hit with the knife]

"It all worked out in the end," Luz said dismissively. "Oh, before we launch into the next one, I remember watching this advert for Hexside you might be interested in, mom."

Principal Bump: Oh, hi.

[Cut to the stream on the crystal ball, Bump in his office. Static crosses the screen sporadically.]

Principal Bump: I didn't see you there. I'm Principal Hieronymous Bump, and welcome to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, where our students' safety and well-being is our top priority.

Camila laughed out loud. Was that why they had a detention pit? Or let innocent children face a primordial fear monster? Or let students like Boscha run amok?

[Outside the window, several students fly on broomsticks away from giant tentacles. Mattholomule screams as he gets flung into the window.]

Gus winced at seeing his friend in such a state.

"This was supposed to make me impressed?" Camila wondered.

Luz was just as bewildered as she was. She'd distinctly remembered being impressed by the ad when she first saw it. Now…not so much.

Principal Bump: Let's take a tour.

[Star transition to a trophy shelf, Bump walking up to it.]

Principal Bump: Here at Hexside, we are devoted to providing the very best for our students.

[Slide transition to the photo class classroom.]

Principal Bump: From our state of the art classrooms...

[Principal Bump's torso flies off screen in a shower of glitter. The spiders in the classroom all attack a screaming Mattholomule, who has a Healing patch on his face.]

"Oh, no!" Gus said. He had known Hexside hadn't especially been fun for Matt, hence him transferring to Glandus, but still, he hadn't suspected this.

[Text reading Learning flies across the screen. Spiral transition to the cafeteria.]

Principal Bump: [holding a platter with a label that reads Healthy "Food"] ...to our award-winning cafeteria.

[Mattholomule, now with an arm in a cast and sling, hesitantly takes the cover off the platter. It's normal food. The plant that Bo is eating across from him attacks his face, knocking him off the bench. She continues chewing, undisturbed.]

"Gee, she could have at least helped out," Camila complained.

"I think she was friends with Boscha," Amity vaguely recalled. "Or at least friendly."

"Ah."

[A cafeteria worker slides past the screen, transitioning to outside of Hexside.]

Mattholomule: [screams as he lands on his face]

"I'm all for him learning his lesson for condemning you to that awful detention pit, Luz, but this seems a trifle excessive," Camila said.

Principal Bump: Every student has the ability and support to reach their full potential here. Hexside, where the magic of friendship... is no longer taught here due to budget constraints.

"It's not like the friendship lessons were any good when they were taught," Gus complained.

Camila sighed. "Luz, if you thought that would convince me…it didn't. Shall we move on?"

Luz nodded hurriedly and downloaded another memory into the mirror.

[Open on Luz and King painting in the woods.]

Luz: When I first got here I thought everything was scary or stinky or both. But I've learned to see the beauty in everything by getting outside and painting in nature.

"It's still pretty stinky," Gus complained. They all looked at him. "What? I have a very delicate nose!"

King: [climbs up Luz's shoulder and points at her painting] Who's that?

[Focus on Luz's painting, which is the view in front of her but with a dark, mysterious figure behind a tree.]

Luz: Oh, that's just some bushes that looked like a dark, mysterious figure, right?

Somehow, Camila had a sneaking suspicion that they were not, in fact, bushes that looked like a dark, mysterious figure, but rather a dark, mysterious figure.

[Takes her painting off the easel to reveal exactly what looks like her painting, but without the figure.]

Luz: That's funny. Wasn't there...? [shakes her head] Anyway, I- [gasp]

[She puts the painting back on the easel. The figure has moved to the foreground, now much larger.]

Camila let out a yelp. She hadn't seen that coming at all!

[She backs away from the painting before peering over it nervously, seeing the still-empty forest.]

Luz: Sometimes my imagination gets away from me. [sweating] Only paint what you see, Luz.

King: [fur stands on end] L-L-Luz?

[The figure in the painting is now holding a sign reading "I'M BEHIND YOU". A shadow falls over them.]

Vee started shaking in fear. Camila quickly reached out and squeezed her hand.

Luz and King: [turn around and scream]

[Cut to black. A light spell is activated, showing a terrified Luz and King under what appears to be a blanket.]

Luz: And you know, sometimes you can find beauty and grow as an artist from the safety of your own bed. [Starts drawing in a notepad.]

Amity nodded. She'd done some of her best Azura fanart in her bedroom. Then again, that was only because there weren't too many other places she felt safety doing it.

[Zooms out to reveal that they're in Luz's room, the window behind them boarded up. Continue zooming out to reveal that the dark figure from before has painted the scene on a canvas.]

Dark Figure: So true.

[The dark figure continues painting.]

"What the hell was that?" Camila demanded.

"You know, in retrospect, this might have been a dream I had," Luz admitted. At least she hoped so. "This one definitely wasn't, though!"

[Open on King and Luz standing in the living room of the Owl House in front of an easel with a box of crayons on it.]

King: How do you draw so good, Luz?

Luz: I'm glad you asked that question, King. Drawing can be fun once you know a few tricks. [starts drawing King] I like to break characters down into simple shapes.

Camila gave a fond grin, remembering how she taught this very technique to Luz herself once upon a time. For most of her childhood, she'd thought she had no artistic talent whatsoever. It turned out that this was just because her art teacher was a racist moron who liked putting her down, and that once she actually learned the craft, she had a knack for it.

Here's you, [flips paper up] and Eda is made of these shapes. [flips paper again to a blank page] Hooty is really easy. [draws Hooty] He's just a circle and a tube.

King: So realistic!

"It's so nice of you to teach King these things," Camila said. "I know you probably haven't had anyone else to teach it to."

"Hey, Hunter, wanna learn some art lessons one of these days?"

"Maybe," Hunter said, trying to remain casual, though internally he was salivating at the prospect of being able to draw some Ruler's Reach fanart.

Hooty: [rolls into frame] Hey! What are you guys up to?

[Camera switches between Hooty, shocked, and Luz's drawing of him.]

Luz: [voiceover] Hooty?

Hooty: [hisses as his feathers stick up]

King: Hooty, no! It's just a drawing.

"He's…not very bright, is he?" Camila mused.

"Mom," Luz said sternly.

Camila winced. She was going against the agreement she made about avoiding putting down Hooty. "My apologies, Luz. I'll try to remember in the future."

"Oh, I think you'll be pretty impressed with him soon enough, Camila," Amity said with a smug grin. She couldn't wait to see Camila's face when she and Luz finally got together – and when she realized Hooty had been instrumental in that.

Hooty: Who are you? This is my territory! Ah! [rips the paper]

Luz: [attempting to restrain him] Hooty, stop!

[Cut to Hooty "sitting" on the couch, next to drawings of Luz and King.]

Hooty: Thanks for calming me down back there, guys. I can get a little territorial.

[Cut to King and Luz peeking at him from around a doorframe.]

King: Hooty's been talking to those drawings of us for, like, seven hours.

Luz: That's the magic of drawing with good proportions. It makes things look real.

Hooty: [looking at the real King and Luz] Wait a minute. Who are you? I'm freaking out!

"Luz Noceda, master of existential crises, at your service!" Luz said with a courtly bow.

"Yeah, thanks for that," Hunter said.

"Oh, Hunter…I didn't mean…"

Hunter grinned at her. "Got you!"

"Aw, Hunter, look at you!" Camila said. "You're already taking to the role of big brother so well!"

[King and Luz slowly retreat behind the doorframe and out of view.]

"Well, that was fun, I guess," Luz said. "How about one more before we start the next episode?" Camila nodded and Luz downloaded another memory onto the mirror.

[Open on Luz sitting on the couch, watching King flip through channels on the crystal ball, looking bored out of his skull.]

Announcer: And now, the epic return of "Bleeding Hearts," the epic romance.

King: [groans in frustration and walks away]

Luz: Ooh.

"It was just like a telenovela from back home!" Luz said.

Rich Witch: [slides in on a pile of snails] Miss Arabella, if you marry me, our families will be the most powerful witches in the land. [pulls Arabella closer] Plus, I'm super rich.

Poor Villager: [rolls into frame, as he is a giant egg with hair and a face] No, Arabella, I scrambled here as soon as I heard. I may be just a lowly stable boy, but our future could be sunny side up.

"Maybe not quite so much like our telenovelas," Camila pointed out.

"She should marry them both," Gus decided. "That's legal in the Demon Realm, you know." Huh. The Camila of…well, just a few days ago would have been a lot more surprised at that. But now very little about the Demon Realm surprised her.

"But that's not the point," Luz said, rolling her eyes. "The Huervo and Cíclope families had been in a blood feud for 414 years! If Arabella chose him, she could bring the wrath of Don Reynaldo down upon her!"

Willow shivered. "Don Reynaldo beat up a plutonium dragon! Singlehandedly!"

[Sirens wail as a hospital bed is dragged into frame.]

Arabella's Mother: Arabella, my only daughter, you must know one final thing. Egh. [dies]

Vee frowned. Arabella's mother's voice sounded so familiar. But she couldn't place it.

[Heart monitor flatlines.]

Arabella: [gasps] Mama. Mama!

Rich Witch: Poor Arabella. I cry diamonds. [does just that]

Poor Villager: My angel weeps. [cries a sunny-side up egg]

"Yeah, I'd go with the diamonds," Camila said.

[Screen goes static. Cut to Luz holding the remote, clearly disappointed in what she just watched.]

King: [flies back into frame, holding the crystal ball] No! What happens next? What happens next?

[Luz quickly turns it back to that channel, looking worried.]

Announcer: And this concludes the final episode of "Bleeding Hearts."

"Always a shame when a show is canceled before its time," Vee lamented.

King: WAH! [tosses crystal ball into the ceiling]

Luz: Buddy, let me tell you a little something about fan fiction.

King: [squints suspiciously] Go on.

Hunter raised his hand. "What is this 'fanfiction?'"

"An ancient art practiced by the learned," Luz intoned. "Long ago, the god Thoth –"

"Stories written about stories," Camila explained before Luz could launch into one of her spiels. "For example, if you wanted to write about what would have happened if Luzura hadn't been killed in Ruler's Reach, you could do that."

Hunter's eyes lit up. "So…you're saying I could write a sequel to Ruler's Reach myself, then!"

"Yeah, if you wanted," Camila said.

Hunter rubbed his hands together. "I have so many ideas."

"We could collab!" Luz said eagerly.

Hunter looked at her askance. "If we collab, it wouldn't be fanfiction anymore, Luz. You wrote the original book, remember? And what would King say about you finding another writing partner?"

"Oh. Right. Good point. I got ahead of myself there."

Amity stood up and stretched her legs a little. "Well, I'm a little thirsty…"

"You don't say, Amity," Luz said, her eyes sparkling. "Looking forward to the next episode already?"

Amity blushed. "You stop that! I'll just get something to drink before we begin." She walked out of the room.

"So, mom, you've been waiting so patiently," Luz said. "And now your patience is about to be rewarded!"

Camila gasped. "You don't mean…"

"That's right! You finally get to learn how we got together."

Amity staggered back into the room and threw a mostly empty glass of orange juice at the wall. Her gait was extremely unsteady, her mouth was twisted in a wide, unholy looking smile, and her eyes were dilated so much they were basically a pool of black.

"Oh, dear," Camila muttered. She really hoped she wasn't going to have to take Amity to the hospital. How on earth was she going to explain her extra organ, to say nothing of her pointy ears? And goodness knew what else was different inside of her.

Amity was suddenly in front of Luz almost as quickly as if she had teleported. "You are so beautiful," she whispered in a high pitched voice. "Let's get married!"

"Batata…that sounds lovely," Luz said carefully. "But with you in the state you're in, I can't do that right now. Did you seriously get high on orange juice?"

"I see everything," Amity said in a sing-song voice. "All that could be, and all that will ever be. There are universes where you look so edgy and you've got this green jacket and a beanie…Did you know there are four walls here, not just three?" She reached out her hand. "I'll just reach out and…"

Luz grabbed her hand and quickly returned it to Amity's side. "How about you show us some memories instead?"

Amity somersaulted back to her seat. "Okay!" With a very unsteady hand, she downloaded some memories into the mirror. "This is our first date!"

"But we haven't had our first date! Also, we haven't even told mom how we got together in the first place!"

Amity shushed her. "Maybe not in this universe, but in the Chibi Tiny Tales universe we did!"

"The what?"

Amity shushed her again, this time even louder and started playing the "memories."

[Open up on a shot of Hooty.

"Oh my gosh, look at him!" Luz said, bouncing in her seat. "He looks so cute and animated! I wonder what I'd look like as a cartoon!"

"Spoiler alert: Eminently kissable," Amity said, moving her head around like she was headbanging all of a sudden.

The doorbell rings. A speech bubble with a bell in it is seen. The door of the Owl House opens and Luz pokes her head out.

"I'm gonna die of cute overdose," Luz said. "That is so adorable." Vee and Willow nodded in agreement, while Amity stared at her hand with an expression of endless horror on her face.

"I'm the only one who's totally creeped out by this, aren't I?" Gus said. Hunter shook his head.

Luz blushes. In front of the door, adorned with sparkles, is Amity. An ethereal choir plays.

"My cotton candy haired goddess," Luz said, her voice filled with awe. "Even in animated form, you look beautiful, batata."

"If we elope now, we can be in Vegas by tomorrow morning," Amity said in Luz's ear. Unfortunately for her, she said this rather loudly. Luz was too busy clutching her ear in pain to respond to the comment, which was good news for her, as she wasn't entirely sure she had the willpower to refuse her right now.

Amity holds out her hand and Luz takes it. Amity leads Luz away from the door, red and pink hearts trailing behind them.

"This is kind of sweet," Camila said. "In a rather disturbing way."

Chibi Tiny Tales logo shown.

"Oh my god, there's a Disney version of me in some other universe!" Luz said, her mouth dropping open in shock.

"The readers thought the Disney bashing was too much," Amity said wisely, "so I'd like you to say three things you like about Disney to make up for it."

Luz stared at her in confusion. Readers? What the hell was she talking about? "Well, I loved Gargoyles. Seriously awesome show with some utterly kickass storylines. Season 7 of the Clone Wars was so neat. Ahsoka vs. Maul? Best lightsaber fight ever."

"Tell me about it," Vee said. "The moment when Rex tried so hard to fight his implanted trigger to kill Ahsoka…so tragic."

"Implanted triggers?" Hunter said with a nervous laugh, horror flowing through him.

"Oh, yeah! Yeah, the clones had these chips in their head that brainwashed them into killing their commanders." Hunter gulped. What if Belos had done something similar to him?

Luz gave Hunter a reassuring smile. "Oh, and I love Zootopia. The train scene is just this triumphant ode to accommodations, and I adore it!"

"See," Amity said. "That wasn't too hard! What kind of wedding dress do you think I should wear?"

"LET'S MOVE ON!" Luz yelled.

Cut to a movie theater. Luz is eating popcorn. Amity looks around her and then puckers her lips. She leans in to kiss Luz on the cheek, but is interrupted by a spray of soda aimed in her direction. The soda is revealed to be coming from Eda, sitting three seats down from them, whose messy slurping habits spoiled the moment.

"EDA!" Luz shouted. "Can't I catch a break? When we have our date for real, we're not letting her spoil our fun. I'll make sure of that." Convincing Hooty to keep her under house arrest for the good of Lumity should be child's play.

Amity looks morose while Luz doesn't notice.

"Oblivious as always," Hunter said smugly.

"Aw, look who's taking to the role of brother like a duck takes to water!" Camila said.

"What's a duck?"

Cut to a concert where a demon is singing and Nosa is playing a harp. Luz and Amity are dancing. They spin each other around.

"Very smooth moves, Luz," Willow said. "Maybe you'll show some of them off next Grom."

"I just hope no one I know has to be the next Grom monarch," Luz said. "With our luck, it'll probably be Hunter." Hunter nodded in agreement.

Luz squeaks and leans in to kiss Amity on the cheek, but is interrupted by a blast of sound, revealed to be coming from King, who has commandeered the microphone.

"Introducing him to metal was…likely a mistake," Luz conceded.

They cover their ears. Cut to Luz and Amity on an inner tube (?) floating down a river. Amity puts her hand around Luz's shoulders. Amity puckers her lips and prepares to kiss Luz on the cheek, but is interrupted by a splash of water and the appearance of a sea monster.

Luz scowled. Sea monsters were the worst. She remembered the siren she'd encountered while on the voyage with Captain Salty, who'd nearly lured her to her death by insulting shipping.

Cut to the Owl House. Luz and Amity approach the door. They hug. Luz grabs the camera and shushes the viewers, then kisses Amity on the cheek.

"Aw!" everyone said simultaneously.

Hooty appears and makes himself into the shape of a heart around them.]

"Well, that was a lot of fun, Amity," Luz said, trying to keep a perky expression on her face. "Why don't you try to get some sleep?"

"But we have to get married," Amity whined.

"Uh…" Luz said and then a brilliant idea occurred to her. "But we can't get married without Eda here! Or your siblings!"

Amity sulked. "I guess."

"Hunter, help me out here!"

"You should wear a tux, Luz," Hunter said, his eyes glittering with delight.

"NOT HELPING!"

Willow decided to take pity on Luz. "Let's watch another one of these Chibi Tiny Tales, shall we?"

[Gus, Willow, and Luz walk away from the Owl House.

"I wonder where we're going," Luz said.

"To the Ninth Circle," Amity said in an ominous tone. Luz gulped. "The hottest arcade in town!" Luz breathed a sigh of relief.

Hooty hoots at them. Chibi Tiny Tales logo shown. Hooty daydreams about cleaning the Owl House, then having Luz praise her work and pin a ribbon emblazoned with #1 on him.

"I guess I don't appreciate him as much as I should," Luz admitted. "I'm gonna tell him how much he means to me when I get back."

He squeaks in contentment. The door opens and Hooty is horrified by what he sees inside. Emmeline Bailey Marcostimo is playing with an ice glyph.

"I'd be horrified, but really, I'm just proud," Gus admitted.

She makes a huge ice cube which falls to the ground and crushes a chair. Hooty grabs Emmeline and places her in a pen for time out.

"Eh, she probably had that coming," Gus said.

An idea occurs to Hooty and he places the broken chair pieces in the rafters. Glass shattering is heard. Clover is using a plant glyph to create a vine which she is using to break plates.

"Well, I definitely know now this is an alternate universe, because Clover would never do something so irresponsible, would you?" Willow said. Clover looked around guiltily. Thankfully for her, Willow didn't notice.

Hooty grabs her and puts her in the timeout pen. He places the broken glass in the rafters.

"I have a hunch this is all going to come crashing down on him," Luz said. "Get it?! Crashing down?" They all just looked at her wearily, even Amity.

Hooty breathes a sigh of relief, then puts on headphones and envisions himself relaxing on a beach. Owlbert opens the timeout pen.

"Oh, Owlbert," Luz said, shaking her head in disapproval. "Eda is such a bad influence on you."

A huge pile of glyphs is then seen.

"Don't do it, Emmeline Bailey Marcostimo!" Gus shouted.

Hooty is unable to stop the palismen from activating it. Waves of fire and ice and vines emerge from the Owl House. Luz, Willow, and Gus return. They are shocked to see the Owl House looking spic and span, though Hooty looks injured. They are all extremely pleased. The various items destroyed by the glyphs, however, are still in the rafters, and promptly fall down.

"That's what you get for trying for deception instead of being honest," Hunter said. "I got this scar when I lied to Belos about sneaking a look at a wild magic book." He pointed to the scar on his face.

Camila's face was a mask of horror. "Hunter…that was wrong. He should not have hurt you like that. I will not do that. I will not physically harm you ever."

Hunter shrugged. She said that now, when she was calm. He'd see whether she'd live up to it when she lost her temper at him. With his luck, he'd do something to earn her wrath sooner or later.

Hooty slams his head against the floor in frustration.]

"Let's throw a party!" Amity said, getting up from the seat.

"It is not party time," Camila said sharply. "It is sleepy time. You need to sleep this off."

"One more and I promise I'll sleep," Amity bargained.

Camila sighed and nodded. "Very well. One more."

[Eda and Lilith are reading a cookbook entitled "Deadly Delights." Eda wants to make a souffle (?) while Lilith wants to make a pie, both of which look alive and quite malevolent.

"At least it's not a fairy pie," Luz muttered.

The two of them argue and their argument intensifies. Chibi Tiny Tails logo shown. King walks up to the door of the Owl House, but gets smacked in the face by it. Hooty and King look bewildered. Inside, Eda and Lilith are both trying to get their hands on the cookbook.

"Well, at least this is an improvement over them fighting about going in the Emperor's Coven," Camila said.

King looks confused, then realizes what is going on. He proposes a cookoff: Eda's dish versus Lilith's.

"Aw, I was hoping for a witch's duel rematch," Gus said.

Eda, with Hooty beside her, stirs her dish while King uses a blender to help Lilith make hers. Eda uses a rolling pin to flatten her dish. Lilith laughs evilly and adds a green potion with a red eyed, horned skull label to her dish, while King licks his spoon.

"Yeah, this is just how Lilith is in the kitchen," Luz told them. "She gets a little…intense."

Eda opens the oven to reveal her dish, which yells. Lilith opens her oven, but her dish emerges from it giant sized, bigger than all of them, and yells. Eda's dish screams and Lilith's dish eats it. Everyone is scared.

Vee started trembling. That pie looked so scary! She was going to have nightmares, she just knew it.

"The strong must protect the sweet!" Luz announced, and leaped over next to Vee and started cuddling her.

Everyone hides underneath dishes, but the pie finds them and tries to crush them. They roll away in time. King tries beating the pie with a rolling pin to no avail. Eda tries to intimidate the pie with the blender to no avail. Lilith barely avoids getting eaten. The Owl House shakes with exertion from their fight. The pie chases Lilith, Eda, and King, but Hooty trips it and it disintegrates into a gooey mess that covers the kitchen.

Luz let out a triumphant shout. "YEAH! Hooty saves the day again! He's the unsung hero of the Owl House." Hopefully, that would change when Camila saw the next episode. She was so excited to see how she'd react.

The door opens and Luz walks in. She tries some of the pie and likes it. Everyone is weirded out.]

"Okay, let's get you to bed, amor," Luz said, and led Amity out of the room.

"Luz…" Amity said in a barely audible tone as Luz dragged her towards her bedroom. "I have to tell you something important."

Luz placed Amity in the bottom bunk and wrapped the blanket snugly around her. "Remember," Amity whispered. "Reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold…"

Luz was about to ask her what she meant by that, but Amity was asleep before she could do so. She really hoped Amity would be better in the morning. She wasn't sure how much longer she could resist her pleas to run away and marry her. Luz was always weak-willed when it came to her batata.
