"You've been sleeping a lot lately. What's up Hiccup? Are you feeling sick?" He placed his head down next to his mate's.

"I don't know. I don't feel sick. I've just been tired. Maybe I am sick or something."

"Is there anything I can do? Is there something I can get or do for you?" The large dragon asked hastily. Hiccup placed a hand on Toothless head.

"Just stay here and keep me warm." Toothless happily curled around his human. He almost pulled away when he touched Hiccup.

"Hiccup you're super cold."

"I am? I didn't even notice. I don't feel cold at all."

"That's weird maybe that's the reason you've been so tired lately. It has been getting colder lately. We do have to remember that you are still partly human, even if you don't look like it.

I'll have someone bring some furs up here so you can make some of those things you used to put on you."

"They're called clothes Toothless." Hiccup chuckled.

"Well whatever they're called you need some. In fact I'll be right back." Toothless stood and raced to the mountains storage area. He rifled around until he found the stack of furs that Hiccup had made himself. He grabbed as many as he effectively could and hurried back. He jumped up the last ledge up to his home. Trotting over to Hiccup he placed one on the ground and moved Hiccup onto it.

"Hey!" He shouted. "What are you doing? You could've just asked."

"Yeah I could have but you would have givin' me a hard time, so it was easier to do it myself."

"That's not fair. How am I supposed to mess with you if…" Hiccup was interrupted by another skin landing on top of him. "Hey!" His scream muffled by the fur. He got his head free but was instantly met with a big tongue licking his face. He scrunched his face up and could hear Toothless howling. He wiped his face clean but again was interrupted by getting knocked over. Before he opened his eyes Hiccup noticed that it was totally silent and something heavy was on his stomach. He opened his eyes and found Toothless quietly staring at him. "Toothless? Are you alright? Toothless!?"

"Huh? Oh! Sorry Hiccup."

"What happened? You just blanked out."

"Yeah sorry. I was looking at you and I couldn't stop. You're… Wow. I don't know what came over me. I couldn't stop myself. Hiccup, I love you." Hiccup took the dragon's head on his hands and chuckles.

"Damn Toothless, act like mating season is around the corner. You're acting like this is going to be your first mating season."

"Don't I always act like this around you? I don't know if you noticed but you always have this effect on me. It's very hard to keep myself under control. Mating season only makes it worse. There's a reason I try to keep away from you the days before it. I'm afraid I'll hurt you. Believe it or not, forcing you to mate with me isn't hot, or romantic. It hurts you and hurts us. If you can't trust me to be near you than I've lost. I'd break my promise to never hurt you. I'd let a lot of people down. Most of all, you."

"I know, I know. You've told me this before. I know how afraid you are. Don't worry."

"Hiccup are you going to be okay this year? There are going to some that try for you this year."

"Don't worry Toothless."

"They could gang up on you. You'd never be able to fight back. Are you sure you still want me to be away this time. I could always stick around and keep an eye out or something. It wouldn't be such a big deal. I could be there in case anything happens."

"Toothless! Don't worry. If whoever you're thinking of values that they live here, than they're not going to do anything. And if they do, do something then I'll kill them myself.

Toothless you have to realize that I'm not the same kid who shot you down all those years ago. I'm not the same person who was scared of their own shadow or wielding a blade larger than a pocket knife. I may still be afraid of things but I know I'm not going to lose you. Toothless I'll fight for you. You understand?" He pulled himself up and kissed the bridge of the Dragon's nose.

"Don't do that Hiccup. You're making it very hard to sit here and not do anything to you."

"So, when are you going to leave this time?"

"In the upcoming days. Potentially tomorrow. If right now is any sort of indicator then, damn, you may not see in the morning."

"It must be hitting you really hard this year."

"I know that you can't feel the effects of mating season but it always like this. This year does seem like it's worse than previous but that may be because we're here with the others. Many other couples are probably going through this too." Toothless informed.

"I guess this will be the first time we'll be around other dragon's, is it different?"

"Yeah sorta. I guess I feel more territorial than usual. Which reminds me. Stay to yourself until after. Territorial doesn't stop at where you live. So try to keep your hands to yourself. Touching someone could be seen as a form of 'aggression'. You don't want someone confusing you being you, with I'm interested. They know you're my mate but they also know that you're different. Many of them probably still believe many of the rumors about humans. Even ones we know aren't true."

"Yeah." Hiccup huffed. "I still get asked about eating our kids." Toothless chuckled. "Hey, are we going to Dragon Island this year?" Toothless cocked his head.

"I didn't even consider it. Why?"

"I was just wondering."

"Do you want to?"

"I don't know. I just thought that we'd go since we live here now."

"Would you be comfortable with it? It's likely that we'd have to put on a display and I know that you don't exactly like being the center of attention."

"You mean we'd have to..." Hiccup stuck out his index finger and made an 'O' shape with his other index and thumb.

"Gods Hiccup could you be a little mature about it. Damned child. But yes that."
