"Well I didn't get the luxury to sit around with my mate in a safe place like some of the others. I got to sit around in a little house and worry for my partner's life. And now I want to finally be safe and just be with my mate for a while. I won't ever not want to be with you but give it a little and it won't be as bad as it is now. Unless you like it, then I'd happy be like this until the day we die." Toothless nuzzled into Hiccup's chest. Hiccup laughed and smiled down at his dragon.
"I don't mind. I'd like you no matter what. Well unless you're being a total jerk. Then I wouldn't."
"Well it's a good thing I'm not. For the most part."
"Son." Stoick interrupted. "I think there's someone waiting for you." Hiccup looked up and wondered who was there. A large rumblehorn stood patiently.
"Uhm, yes? What do you need?" Toothless rolled himself over and they both stood up.
"A ship was spotted in our waters. It's getting closer as we speak. Where there supposed to be more than one coming from Berk?" Hiccup looked over to his dad.
"Was more than one ship coming from Berk?" Stoick shook his head.
"No? I tried to follow your request as much as I could. Is something wrong?" Hiccup looked back at the Rumblehorn.
"Do we know who it is? Did we see any flags or anything?"
"No, sir. The ship has no flags on it. No paint or marking from what we can tell either."
"Okay, don't let anyone near it. No need to risk something going wrong. Keep an eye on it and watch what it does. If it doesn't just pass by us and is lingering around come find me again." The Rumblehorn nodded and flew off. "Toothless would you go and inform everyone of that ship and that I want no one near it, please."
"Of course." Toothless rushed off. Hiccup hustled behind the dragon with his father on his heels.
"Hiccup, what's going on?" The large man struggled to fit through the hole Hiccup went through.
"There's a ship out there." Hiccup said hurriedly. He made his way down to the shelf he called home and began to dig through a box.
"Hiccup, ships must pass by here all the time, this can't be that big of a deal." Stoick pointed out confusedly.
"It's normally not… Ah gotcha." Hiccup pulled out a monocular. He got up and began his way back up to the top of the mountain. "This ship is different. It doesn't have any flags on it and no paint or distinguishing markings. We don't know where it's from or who's on it." Both he and his father were quickly back on top. Hiccup was looking around for the ship and took a while to actually spot it. It only took him a couple seconds after getting a good look at it to freak out. He threw the monocular to the ground and sprinted back inside. He stopped at the edge of the highest shelf.
"Everybody inside right now! No one in or out, you're all grounded!" Hiccup jumped down the shelves with ease, his father failing to keep up and suddenly found himself in a sea of dragons rushing around. The last thing Stoick saw of Hiccup was him easily weaving through the hoard and quickly lost sight of him.
Hiccup continued his way down the shelves giving orders to whoever needed them. Toothless swiftly found him.
"Hiccup what's going on? Why did you order a grounding?"
"That ship out there isn't passing by. It's a dragon hunting ship, I saw the cages and harpoons on the deck."
"What do you plan to do about it?"
"I don't know yet. Get me the leads again, try to find Color and her group. If Spark and his group are back bring them too. I want everyone there." As quick as he found Hiccup, he disappeared. Hiccup fought against the dragons rushing to get to there respective places. On his way up, he found his father having a hard time doing just about anything. He grabbed the large man's hand and began to drag him back from where he came.
"You know for someone just as big as any of these dragons, it looked like you're having a hard time pushing through them." Hiccup yelled over the commotion. He drug his dad back up to the very top of the mountain again. He immediately looked for the monocular and grabbed it the second he found it. He looked out again for the ship and wasn't happy that it was still hanging around.
"Hiccup you still haven't told me what happening." Stoick tried to peer out towards where Hiccup was looking.
"There's a dragon hunting ship out there. It's decided that it's going to hang around and look for some of my dragons. I'm assembling everyone so that we can decide what to do about it."
"Do you plan to attack it?"
"I don't know. It's alone but still dangerous. In these types of situations losing someone to that ship would simply be a loss for us. But to only send one is cocky and making sure no one on that ship returns home would send a strong message. If anything we'll just send a group of our seafaring dragons to sink the ship and deal with survivors."
"Otherwise you'll just leave them alone and wait them out?"
"Yeah. The only problem with that is, I still have dragons coming back from their posts. I don't want any of them flying near that thing. Especially with those chained harpoons Berk makes and sells to the other villages on it. If they get his why one of those there's no chance of escape. Just like Gobber and I designed." Dragons quickly began to file in behind the two men.
"What's the problem?" One asked.
"There's a ship out there." Another answered.
"What's the plan?" yet another asked.
"I don't know yet. That's why I've brought you all here. That's what we're here to figure out." Hiccup soothed. More and more dragons joined Hiccup. Toothless took his spot next to Hiccup facing the others. "So what I can tell from looking at the ship, is that is a dragon trapping boat."
"It's been a while since one of those has come around here." Care commented. "Must be because we aren't attacking them anymore. Can't get caught if we're not there." He chuckled a little.
"Well, knowing it's a dragon trapping boat I'm going to make this simple. Is anyone against sinking that ship?" There was a unanimous silence. "Please if any of you have a reason not to or a concern, now is not the time to be shy. There is no bringing your concern up to me later." He looked at each of his dragons. Each one looking back at him, with their silent confirmation. "Okay then…"
