Chapter 3

Scrap was now sleeping on Kurt's bed every night and still sending him dreams of Blaine. He was happy with their coffee date and their mutual interest in each other. Perhaps he should think about helping connect other lonely singles?

"Hello, Mister." Kurt reached over to pet Scrap on the head and scratched him under the chin. "How was your day? Any excitement?"

"No, pretty uneventful day," Scrap said.

Kurt's head spun around. He looked at the cat and blinked. "I must be going crazy. I could swear you just answered me!" He laughed to himself and walked to the bathroom.

When he came out dressed in his pajamas, he stared at the cat for a while. He wasn't sure what to think. Scrap looked up at him casually.

Kurt fell asleep shortly thereafter and met Scrap in his dreams.

"Hello, Kurt. I'm here to help you find love."

Kurt looked down at the cat. "I've never dreamed of a talking cat before. What was in the coffee I had?"

"Don't be silly. No one spiked your drink," Scrap said haughtily.

Kurt just stood there wondering what was going on.

"You can call me Scrap, and I'm here to tell you magic is real and to help you."

"How can you help me? Are you going to make my dreams come true?" Kurt asked, mystified.

"In a manner of speaking. My boy is a great match for you, and I've been trying to connect you two." Scrap licked his paw.

"Match me up with who?" Kurt gasped. "Wait, do you mean Blaine? I kept thinking I had met him before, but now I realize it was in my dreams."

"Yes, that was me. Encouraging things. You deserve love and happiness, and my boy has been lonely for a long time. You both have a connection, and you should explore it more. Contact him tomorrow and set up another date," Scrap told him forcefully.

"Gosh, you sure are a bossy puss," Kurt said.

"Eventually you will thank me for this. For now, you need to rest and dream of a happy life together." Scrap lulled Kurt into a deeper sleep and lay down at the foot of the bed.

Blaine was working with the kids the next day as usual, but he couldn't stop thinking about Kurt and his sparkling eyes. The kids could sense he was distracted, but they didn't cause too much extra fuss.

As the kids were being picked up by parents or servants at the end of the day, Blaine decided to text Kurt.

"How's the hottest guy in town?"

"If I see him, I'll ask for you," Kurt replied.

Blaine laughed and then typed, "You know I'm talking about you, silly."

"Me? No one has ever called me hot before. A fag, girly, and many other derogatory names, but never hot," Kurt replied.

"Well, we'll have to change that then. I thought about you all day. Could we have dinner tonight? I know it's last-minute, but I just can't wait to see you again."

"Well, since you asked so nicely, I guess I can let my parents know I have plans for dinner tonight. Do you want to pick me up? I know it's early, but they would love to meet you, if that's okay?"

"Sure, I can do that. Give me your address, and I'll pick you up at 6," Blaine messaged, and then he wondered how he was going to manage that without causing a bunch of questions to come up.

Blaine had never owned a car. With the ability to use his powers to travel, he never needed one. Tonight, he would need to have one and be able to use it. Since he'd heard Toyotas were reliable vehicles, he stopped at a local car dealership. He bought a Prius and had the salesman show him how to operate it. He received several odd looks, especially while paying all cash for the car, but was able to successfully drive off the lot an hour later.

Thankfully, the streets were pretty empty, and he didn't have any issues getting the car to his house. Once there, he tried to decide what outfit to wear, ending up with an emerald green shirt and bowtie and some black skinny jeans.

"Here goes nothing," he sighed as he drove off to Kurt's.

After managing to navigate to Kurt's just fine, he felt much more confident in his driving skills.

He walked to the front door and knocked hesitantly.

Burt opened the door and greeted him. "Hey, nice to meet you. Please come in."

They shook hands, and Blaine was inside a moment later.

"Kurt said he had a nice time with you yesterday. My son is very important to me, so I want to make sure you'll take good care of him." Burt smiled, but with a hint of a warning.

"Oh, yes, sir. Your son is a sweet guy. I only have good intentions towards him." Blaine unleashed his megawatt smile and tried to dazzle Burt.

Kurt came down the stairs then. "Dad! Are you threatening Blaine?"

Burt smiled. "Of course not. Just a friendly reminder that you're important to me, and I don't want anything happening to you."

Kurt let out an exasperated sigh. "Dad. Please."

Carole popped out of the kitchen to greet Blaine warmly, and with that they headed out to dinner.

"What are you in the mood for tonight?" Blaine asked.

Kurt looked at Blaine. "I didn't think to ask you what your favorite food was."

"Oh, I like lots of things. Pizza, Italian, fried chicken…what about you?"

Before Kurt could answer, Blaine leaned in and planted a kiss on his lips. Both of them saw stars shooting behind their eyes.

"Wow," Kurt said softly.

"Yeah. Wow." Blaine slowly shifted away and opened the car door for Kurt.

Both of them a little dazed, Blaine started the car and drove off. Kurt's glazed look slowly melted back to reality. "So, what did we decide on to eat?"

"Oh. I kind of forgot what we were doing." Blaine laughed.

Kurt laughed too and directed him to the local pizza parlor, Pizza Wonderland, which had been a favorite of Kurt's growing up. It had a whole room of arcade games and pinball machines in the back.

They were seated at the far end of the restaurant away from all the parents with kids running in and out of the room asking for money.

"I hope this isn't too noisy?" Kurt said. "My family came here a lot growing up."

"This is great. I love kids. Their energy and excitement over things is the best." Blaine smiled and took Kurt's hand to reassure him.

"So, your dad seems…protective of you," Blaine said.

Kurt laughed. "You might say that. He's more bark than bite, but he does want me to be happy."

"That's wonderful. My parents and I aren't very close. My dad can be stubborn and is set in his ways. Nothing wrong with yours looking out for you though," Blaine said.

Kurt smiled, thinking about his dad. "So, tell me all about your day."

They talked for hours over their shared appetizer and then pizza, chatting easily about a variety of topics. Their conversation flowed well, and they both had a great time. At the end of the night, Blaine picked up the check.

"Next time is my treat," Kurt said.

"I asked you out both of these times, so it's been my pleasure to pay." Blaine smiled at Kurt.

Kurt blushed. "I don't want you to think I'm a freeloader."

"Don't be silly. Money isn't that important, thankfully," Blaine said as they walked back to the car.

He opened the door for Kurt again, and as he got in the driver's side, he leaned over for another kiss.

"My breath is garlicky," Kurt warned. Blaine kissed him anyway, chastely at first before eventually daring to push his tongue inside Kurt's mouth, which he willingly accepted with a soft moan. Finally, both breathless, they broke apart.

"I could definitely do that for hours with you," Blaine said, looking adoringly into Kurt's eyes.

Kurt blushed. "I'd like that."

Blaine dropped Kurt off, and, with a goodbye kiss, he watched Kurt walk into his house. Blaine decided that was enough of being 'normal' and snapped his fingers. He and his car appeared in his driveway. He'd have to explain the car eventually to his parents, but hopefully they wouldn't notice for a while.

Once inside and needing to know what that cat was up to, Blaine called out to summon his familiar. "Scrap, I saw you at Kurt's house. You better make an appearance!"

After a few moments, Scrap materialized in front of Blaine.

"Why are you stalking me?"

Blaine gave him a dirty look. "I wanna know why you were at Kurt's and where you've been lately. I don't want to hear any of your double-talk either."

"W - what!?" Scrap spluttered. "How dare you insult me."

"Scrap. Out with it," Blaine demanded.

"I was looking for a friend for you. If I hadn't been hanging around him, you wouldn't have had your date tonight," Scrap said, manipulating Blaine's emotions.

Blaine crossed his arms. "What led you to Kurt specifically?"

"Fine, if you must know. He seemed so lonely and such a sweet boy that I thought you two would be a nice match."

"Since when are you looking to find me a date, and with a mortal as well?" Blaine questioned.

"Since you've never been on one before. You are out of school now, and it's high time you started making friends and a life for yourself. Time to stop letting your father limit you," Scrap scolded.

Blaine sighed. "I'm trying to figure things out. I decided to teach against his wishes."

"Yes, but teaching children isn't likely to find you adult friends or someone to date," Scrap reminded him.

Inkspot chimed in, "Far be it for me to agree with the feline, but he's right, you know."

"Both of you are ganging up on me now?" Blaine blew out a breath.

"What's the problem? You seem to be having a good time with Kurt," Scrap said.

"He's very sweet and the cutest…" Blaine paused, feeling dread set in. "But he's also a mortal. That's going to cause issues sooner or later. I'll have to convince him magic is real or make him forget if he won't accept it."

"Kurt is a perfectly intelligent man. He will accept it with proof when the time is right," Scrap said.

"Besides, you are our boy, sweet and caring. What's there not to like about you?" Inkspot said, and Scrap agreed.

Blaine pouted. "You two are going to give me gray hair!"

"Not for at least a hundred years. You've got a long life ahead of you," Scrap said.

"If you two are so smart, then tell me how to deal with my parents when they find out I'm falling in love with a mortal." When the words left his mouth, Blaine realized it was true.

Kurt was dreaming again. This time, he was wrapped up in bed with Blaine, kissing and cuddling with him. His hands slipped under Kurt's shirt, touching his chest, his nipples, getting him turned on and worked up.

He woke up with the blankets tangled around himself, breathless.

Getting to know Blaine had been wonderful so far, and his dreams showed him he was thinking of taking things further. Maybe it was time to invite him over for dinner and encourage everyone else to be out of the house.

Kurt wasn't sure if he was ready for all that it entailed, but he was definitely interested in taking things further with Blaine. He was the first guy Kurt had ever liked, and, gosh, his lips and the way he kissed, were pure magic.

Kurt drifted back to sleep thinking of those lips and that tongue in his mouth, getting him aroused in his sleep as he dreamed about doing wonderfully sexy things with and to Blaine.

Kurt invited Blaine over for Friday night dinner to meet the family. Burt and Carole were excited to meet the guy who was making Kurt so happy these days.

Blaine was a bit nervous. He'd never been invited to meet someone's family before, and he had no idea what to bring with him.

"Don't be silly, just bring a bottle of wine and dress nicely," Scrap said.

"You are a sweet man, and they will love you," Inkspot chimed in.

"But what do I say to them? I know Kurt's dad is into sports, which I do enjoy watching, but if he asks me about cars, I won't know what to say. I'm still getting the hang of driving." Blaine sighed fretfully. "What if they ask me to help with dinner? I've never cooked anything before."

"Just tell them you grew up with servants around the house, which is true enough," Scrap said, feeling annoyed.

"Listen here, I've managed to get you two to meet and enjoy each other's company. I can't do everything for you. My paws are only so big," Scrap scolded Blaine.

Blaine laughed. "Ok - Ok, I'll stop whining."

Blaine drove the car over to keep up appearances. As he pulled up in front of the house, he thought about what to bring and then snapped his fingers. He got out of the car, some flowers and a bottle of wine in hand.

Blaine knocked on the door and was greeted by Burt.

"Mr. Hummel, it's nice to see you again, sir," Blaine said, giving him the bottle of wine.

"No need to be so formal here. Just call me Burt."

Carole came out of the kitchen to meet him and appreciated the gift of beautiful flowers.

Just then, Kurt came down the stairs and got a quick kiss and hug from Blaine.

"Hey, hope you had a great day," Blaine said to Kurt.

Kurt blushed. "It was nice. Pretty quiet overall. How was your day with the kids?"

That got everyone talking about Blaine's job and the kids until dinner was ready.

"Carole made lasagna for dinner tonight. She's a great cook," Kurt praised her.

Carole laughed. "Nowhere near as good as you are in the kitchen, Kurt."

Kurt blushed again.

Blaine was seated across from Kurt and smiled at him as he dug in.

"Wow, this is delicious," Blaine raved.

They all made small talk for a while as they ate and got more comfortable around each other.

"So, Blaine, have you been out with a lot of guys? How do you feel about Kurt so far?" Burt asked, being direct.

"Dad!" Kurt blushed.

Blaine started laughing. "No, sir. To be honest, Kurt is the first person I've been out on a date with, and I feel like he's a great catch, and I'm lucky he agreed to meet me for coffee."

"Good answers," Burt said.

Kurt shot his dad a menacing look.

"What? Your happiness is important to me, and I want to get a sense of Blaine and what he's after," Burt said.

"Dad, it's not like Blaine is going to magically make me disappear and take advantage of me. I'm an adult now," Kurt said.

"Well, you matter, and someone who is interested in you should be a special quality person," Burt said.

Blaine smiled a million-megawatt smile. "Thank you for looking out for Kurt. He's a special man and deserves the best."

Kurt blushed again and looked down at his hands.

"So, Blaine, you mentioned this was your first date. Why did you wait so long to go out with someone?"

"Dad."

Carole smiled at all of them. "Okay, enough grilling of the guest tonight. Blaine, why don't you tell us more about you and your family."

"My family…well, my dad is very particular, so I haven't had a lot of friends growing up. No one was good enough, or they were afraid of him. My mom is nice, but she travels a lot, so I don't see her often. I do have a cat as a companion. His name is Scrap," Blaine told them, feeling nervous.

Burt laughed. "Well, we'd love to meet your parents, and we don't scare easily."

"It's not you I'm worried about," Blaine said with a grimace.

After dinner and cake, Kurt brought Blaine up to his room while Burt and Carole relaxed in front of the TV.

Once the door was closed, Kurt pulled Blaine in for a deeper kiss.

"Wow. I'll never get enough of your kisses," Blaine gushed.

"I'm sorry about my dad," Kurt said.

"Don't be. It's obvious he cares a lot about you and your happiness. I think that's awesome. I wish my parents were more like that." Blaine smiled while still holding Kurt.

Their mouths connected again, and they were making out heavily before falling onto the bed. Eventually they broke apart, lips swollen and out of breath.

Kurt stared into Blaine's hazel eyes, mesmerized by their color and depth.

Blaine kissed Kurt again and again, his hands roaming over his back and arms, little touches everywhere, exciting them both, and sparking more kissing as their tongues meshed together.

Blaine untucked Kurt's shirt from his pants, sliding a hand underneath to tweak his nipples, which drew out passionate moans from Kurt.

Kurt had never felt anything like this before, all the sensations and passion so overwhelming. Blaine began to nibble and lick Kurt's ear and neck, driving him crazy. It was too much, too good, yet he couldn't get enough.

Kurt flipped Blaine over so he was on top, straddling him and beginning to work his hands under Blaine's button-up shirt. As he slowly undid the buttons, he kissed every gradually exposed area of skin.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Burt came in.

Burt smirked. "Guys, Carole and I are going to bed now. I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was meeting you tonight, Blaine. We hope to see you again soon."

Blaine blushed, looking out from under Kurt. "It was my pleasure to meet you both and see what an amazing dad Kurt has, sir. I hope to be invited back."

Kurt stood up, blushing furiously. "It's getting late. You probably need to get home and prepare for class tomorrow."

"Yeah, you're probably right."

Blaine smiled and walked downstairs to the front door.

Kurt leaned in for another kiss as they said good night.

Once outside, Blaine snapped his fingers, and he and the car disappeared. Unfortunately, Burt happened to be looking out the window at the time. He blinked and looked again, rubbing his eyes. "Huh. I need more sleep. I must be seeing things."
