Chapter 2- Narcissa Black
Harry stretched his sleep away as he slowly came back to the realm of the living. As he sat up he mentally recapped everything that had happened in the past twenty-four hours. Looking at the time he found that It was already half-past nine and maybe the others had decided to let him rest.
Deciding to get on with the day, he got up and moved towards the bathroom and a refreshing shower later, he stepped out and he was greeted by a house-elf.
"Lord Potter, sir. Your clothes be ready." The diminutive creature bowed low, it's ears flapping comically.
Harry chuckled, at the very familiar sight and asked.
"And who are you?"
"I's be Tippy, sir. Potter House elf." The elf explained proudly.
"Well Tippy. Master Harry is fine. No need to call me Lord Potter. Where are the others?" Harry said with a smile as he patted the elf on the head.
"Master Charlus and Mistress Dorea be eating along with Mistress Euphemia and young master James. Young Miss be getting up and going down before Tippy arrived, sir." Harry nodded and wordlessly dismissed the elf who then disappeared.
He got dressed and went down to the dining room and found the others still at the table.
"Good morning Harry." An enthusiastic James who noticed him first greeted him.
Harry smiled softly.
"Morning little brother." He said as he ruffled the younger boys' hair who groaned.
"Not you too. I hate it when Mum does that." James grumbled with no heat.
Harry took a seat at the head of the table and overall felt fairly apprehensive about the gesture. However his worries were put to rest with an encouraging smile and a nod from his grandmother.
He now was the head of the family, both in the Potter house and the Black house. All the members of the family answer to him and him only. And in time, his lady. A full night's rest had allowed him to come to terms with this and he knew that with his current position he had a responsibility in making sure both his family's wouldn't suffer the same fate they did last time.
James had been done with his breakfast and was waiting for him to finish. "Ready to go back to school?" Harry asked James who nodded.
"Yes. As much as I like it here, I like it there. Quidditch, and pranking Snivellus. Though, if there is one thing I like more than that, it's Transfiguration." He asked with a tilt of his head.
Harry hummed. He knew that James loved transfiguration.
"I can only imagine poor McGonagall. She must be fed up with dealing with you and Sirius." Harry watched as James grinned mischievously.
Harry then continued and said
"I must say, good job with Snape. If there is one kid who deserves all these pranks of yours, it's him."
James was surprised.
"You know Snape?"He asked incredulously and Harry nodded.
Truthfully, he had not forgiven Snape, although that was the intention of Albus fucking Dumbledore. He would never forgive Snape. Not after everything he did. Not for his obsession with his mother. Not for making his life hell in Hogwarts. Not for leaking the prophecy and making him and Neville orphans.
"I did keep in contact with Father, James. He did inform me a fair bit about your instances in school. Now as the head of this family I will not mind your prank. A little laughter is good for everyone. However, I want you to listen to me. I don't want anybody, and I repeat, anybody coming to me and calling my brother a bully. I will be most displeased if I hear somebody tells me that you have been hurting other students with your pranks. And that applies to Severus Snape as well." Harry warned in a tone that sent shivers down the younger boy's spine.
Seeing that his message had sunk right in. Harry smiled and continued " However pranks that are made for the sake of merriment and said merriment is felt by everyone will not be punished."
James nodded very quickly more than happy with the new stipulation. Harry smiled as he got back to his food.
"Will you play Quidditch with me?" James asked hopefully a few minutes later.
Daphne who was sitting next to Dorea snorted softly into her hand. She had been quiet until now content to see how Harry handled being the lord of the family and she was not disappointed.
"Are you sure you want that, James? I have seen your brother play and let me tell you, he flies like a thunderbird on steroids. He is special on the broom." Daphne said, boasting Harry up.
Harry watched the girl defend him and his abilities on the broom, with amusement. He was happy that she was at least keeping it together.
"Glad to know that I have a fan, Daphne," Harry said with a small smile that made Daphne grin.
"Good. I have seen you on a broom, Harry. You are the best I have ever seen." She said with an emphatic nod.
James stood up, clearly ready for a challenge.
"Come on." He dragged his brother who had just finished his breakfast. Leaving the females to watch on in amusement.
Harry couldn't help but smile at the youngsters' enthusiasm. He was dragged to a broom shed at the Quidditch pitch behind the Manor. Harry could see many brooms present inside the shed. Centuries of old brooms.
James picked up a quaffle and a snitch and handed one to Harry, before taking two Comet 450s.
"Come on." Harry nodded as he followed the younger boy.
James got on the broom before rising into the air, as he performed a few flying drills to shake off his wariness.
Harry watched the young boy go. He was so fluent in the air. He had that grace of a ballerina. Harry was proud of his ability to fly and he had been more than happy to learn that this was an ability from his father.
He had never seen anybody fly like James Potter in his life. Not even Viktor Krum.
"Come on, Harry. What are you waiting for?" Harry nodded as he sat down on his broom
He kicked off the ground and flew up. He tried to get comfortable. It had been ages since he last flew. And this broom was very lacking compared to his Nimbus and Firebolt.
He flew around the pitch, dropping low and raising high as he manoeuvred in the air. He was getting the hang of it. He dropped to the ground, as he barrelled down and just as he was hitting the ground, he rose into the air, the nose of his broom rising at his insistence.
"That was bloody brilliant." Said James who was staring open-mouthed at the performance put up by his brother.
Harry smiled at the compliment.
"Come on then," he called out to his brother, as he tossed the quaffle after he flew down.
"Let's see how good James Potter is on a broom." Harry grinned as he watched his brother flying around catching and tossing the quaffle.
--
"You weren't lying, dear. I have not seen anybody better than Harry anytime recently." Euphemia sipped her tea along with her daughter in law and Daphne.
The woman had quickly taken to Daphne. She saw a lot of similarities between the girl herself and her daughter in law. Headstrong. Proud, wise and quick-witted. A perfect pureblood heiress.
"I agree. A talent that has been passed on. He was a bane to our Slytherin House. There is not a single team in Hogwarts, that can say that they won against a Harry Potter playing Gryffindor team without the aid of sheer dumb luck. He lost only two matches in his life at Hogwarts. And those two were because of a stupid teammate and Dementors." She explained.
Dorea looked confused.
"Dementors?" Daphne nodded and went on to explain what she meant.
The two older women were horrified to learn of this. They didn't understand why at the beginning, but they had never been more shocked in their life when they heard that Dementors were placed in a school of all places.
"Your Minister was probably a moron," Euphemia whispered and Daphne nodded.
"Oh, he was an idiot. A corrupt and foolish Minister." Daphne was disgusted by the man. She always had been. He was not a leader. And certainly not someone fit for leading a nation.
The women continued to make small talk, discussing mundane things, asking about her Hogwarts life and Harry's Hogwarts life.
She didn't have much to speak about Harry. She didn't know a lot. She just spoke about many of the rumors supporting his time in Hogwarts.
They were roused from their chatting when the two Potters came back. James looked very happy and Harry seemed refreshed as well.
"You fly very well, Harry." Euphemia pointed out as Harry sat down. Harry nodded and smiled softly.
"I do. And that is a talent I am very proud of." Harry pointed out.
"You should have been in Hogwarts. We would have won everything if you were in my team." James groused.
"The Prewitt twins have left as well and now, we are two beaters short," James grumbled.
"Daphne. Come with me please. I need to speak with you." Harry extended his hand and the girl nodded as she took his hand.
The two walked back into the outer gardens, not speaking a word.
Harry led her to a bench and sat down. The atmosphere was pleasant and peaceful. Harry quite liked this place a lot. This was his go to spot back when he first found the manor.
"This place is wonderful." Daphne interrupted his thoughts, as she conveyed his exact thoughts.
"Yeah. This place is just the same. Calm and peaceful. Nothing has changed at all from my time." Harry said and Daphne smiled at him.
"How are you feeling Daphne?" Harry was concerned about the girl. He could see the sadness in her eyes. She had now come far away from her world. No father. No mother. No sister. No friends. She was truly alone.
Moreover, the girl was his fiancee. It was killing him that she couldn't remember it. And he could not approach her and tell her about it. It would surely drive her away.
Daphne went rigid. She sagged her shoulders. Her body began to shake and she started to cry. Harry immediately placed an arm around her shoulders and she leaned closer to him. She cried into his chest as Harry continued to caress her head.
The two remained this way for another ten minutes until Harry felt her sniff and raise her head.
"Better?" Harry questioned the girl who nodded dejectedly.
"Daphne. I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling right now. But, what I do know is the loneliness you are facing. I can understand that very well." She nodded.
"It's difficult, Harry. Everyone I love is not alive anymore. My father and mother are younger than me. My sister has not even been born yet." Harry continued caressing her head as she spoke.
"What am I to do? How can I go forward? My entire world has turned upside down? I have lost parts of my memories. I am feeling scared." She sobbed.
Harry quickly gathered the girl in another hug. "I know it's difficult, but it will pass. I will help you. I will stand by you. Anything you need, you can ask of me. And I don't want you to hesitate."
Daphne's blue eyes met his emerald ones. In them she could find nothing but honesty. Due to that she couldn't help but be grateful as her throat constricted slightly. So she just nodded.
"We are here for you, Daphne. And you can come to me for anything." Daphne felt her mind suddenly go white and another memory slowly pops into her.
The few outings she and Harry had taken and had enjoyed. She didn't want to tell him. Has he not yet received these memories? Or did he deliberately avoid that topic?
She shook her head slightly before smiling back at the young man.
"Thank you." She whispered.
Harry stood up and placed a small kiss on the top of her head before he could think it through.
Daphne was surprised, but she felt herself liking it. She didn't give any exclamation to that action. She accepted it. What surprised her the most was how natural that action between the two of them was.
Harry then stepped back.
"When your thoughts are sorted out, you can join us. Take your time." Harry walked back to the place where the ladies sat.
The two women raised an eyebrow in question and Harry sighed.
"She is feeling lonely." Harry shrugged.
"What are you going to do now?" Dorea questioned the boy.
Harry shrugged. "I don't know." He sighed.
"All my life, killing him was my only aim. That was how my life went on. Now, I have drawn a blank."
"There are lots of things you can do." It was Daphne. She casually walked up to them and took a seat.
"I, for one, need to get into the Auror Corps." Harry blinked. He then remembered that Daphne had always wanted to be an Auror. And he was sure that she would be a damn fine one.
"I am not sure. I certainly won't be doing well under the damn ministry. Bunch of piss mongering cunts." Harry growled in a manner eerily similar to the previous lord black. His curse however received scandalous gasps from the ladies.
"Language, young man." Dorea was quick to chastise the young man. Harry in response merely shrugged. His dislike for the Ministry was apparently well known in the previous timeline.
He didn't want to be anywhere near that damn building.
"I still need my NEWTs though," Harry muttered.
Daphne nodded. "Me as well. Why don't we take it this weekend?"
Harry shook his head.
"I need to go to Grimmauld for dinner." Harry informed the group.
"Arcturus was adamant that I join him. And to be honest I want the meeting as well. I want to meet that side of the family and familiarise myself with its situation. The others go back to Hogwarts on Monday. We can have our exams then.."
Daphne agreed to Harry's plan.
"That seems like a good idea." She smiled at the boy.
"Can you tell me about your life, Harry?" It was Euphemia.
"I heard a lot from Dorea and my son, but I find myself curious."
Harry sighed. He knew that he had to explain about his life, but that doesn't make it easy.
"I need some time, grandmother. Will it be alright if I can talk about this a few days later? I would show the memories of my life, but I need some time."
Euphemia smiled. "Of course, my boy. You can take your own time." Harry nodded.
He got up and left the place as he moved indoors.
Daphne watched him go, with a smile on her face. She shook her head and closed her eyes. She tried to remember everything at once, but it continued to evade her.
She winced as a wave of pain hit her, halting her in her efforts.
Dorea watched the girl wince. "Are you alright?" She asked the girl as she placed her hand on the other girl's arm.
"I am finding it difficult to remember a few things. It's like it has disappeared from my memory." Daphne explained.
"Just a while back, I had a flash. I regained some memories, but not completely. I had a flash where me and Harry spent some time together, alone. But if I try to remember further, I get a headache." She muttered as she clutched her head.
Dorea frowned. "I maybe able to help you, dear." She said. "I am well versed in Occlumency."
"You might have been in some form of distress and therefore, your brain has blocked your memory. It will take some time, but I think I may be able to help you." Dorea finished.
Daphne nodded. "It would be wonderful. Thank you, Mrs Potter."
Dorea smiled back at the young girl.
"You can call me Dorea, dear."
Daphne nodded. She got up and excused herself, leaving the older women to their own devices.
"Mark my words, she will make a wonderful wife for him," Dorea said to her mother in law.
Euphemia grinned. "Good. I thought that I was the only one that noticed the spark between the two." She chuckled into her hand.
"It would be wonderful if they do get together." Euphemia happily pointed out.
"Let's see how long they will take for that," Dorea said. "It will be fun to see them around each other."
—--
"Why are you nervous, Harry?" Daphne questioned the boy in exasperation as he grumbled under his breath.
He was going to the Black House for dinner. It was not that he was nervous about their reputation. Harry was a daredevil, people with worst reputations had shit their pants when they had seen the full extent of his power.
No, it was because he had to control himself from going wild in a house that held both Bellatrix and Walburga.
That was an unpleasant thought for him. And God knows how he would reacts.
"I am not nervous….." Harry argued.
"Yes. You are not nervous. You are just angry to be anywhere near Bellatrix and Walburga. Now quit whining. A lord of your station must not behave childishly." Daphne chastised Harry as she flapped her hand around and cleared some non-existent dust on his robe.
Harry just shut up. He knew there was no arguing with this woman. He didn't see Dorea and Euphemia exchange mischievous grins.
"There, you look perfect for a first meeting." Daphne smiled as she stood behind Harry and looked at him in the mirror.
"Now get going. Mr Black must be waiting for you. You must go. It's impolite to keep people waiting." Daphne ordered.
"Yes, mother." Harry snarked softly, receiving a slap on his head.
Harry smiled softly, before placing a small kiss on her cheek.
"I'll see you later."
He then went over to Dorea and Euphemia and placed a kiss on their cheeks before walking out of the doors.
He arrived silently in a secluded corner, two blocks away from Grimmauld Place. He looked around as he walked to the house. This was so different from the last time he had seen London. The streets were less busy and more quiet.
He walked up the stairs to Number 12 and knocked on the door.
The door was opened quickly by a very familiar creature.
"Lord Black." The elf bowed low, his ear flapping on the ground.
"Thank you, Kreacher." Harry said with a nod.
Harry stepped into the house and followed the elf who led him to the dining room.
"They are in here, Lord Black."
Harry nodded. He took a deep breath and walked inside the room with both grace and elegance.
Harry noticed the others stood up in respect for him as the new Lord Black. They may not like it, but nobody dare oppose him.
He let his eyes take a look around. Arcturus Black and his wife Melania sat next to each other on the right side of the head of the house's seat.
Next to them sat Sirius and his brother Regulus Black. He could identify them quickly enough. He had seen those faces on the tapestry during his time.
Next to the two boys, sat the most unpleasant face he had the privilege of meeting. Walburga Black and her husband Orion Black.
To the left of his seat sat Cygnus Black along with his wife Druella Black. Next to the two of them, Harry noticed three girls sitting next to each other.
His eyes fell on the blonde-haired girl at the table, clearly the eldest among the three of them. Harry stared at the girl.
She was as beautiful as Daphne. Her calculating blue eyes met his emerald greens and she stared at Harry before averting her gaze, her cheeks pinkening slightly.
Narcissa Black. Harry knew she was beautiful. Even before he came here, although she had aged, she had aged well in the previous timeline. She was one of the most beautiful women he had seen. But this Narcissa Black blew the other one out of proportion.
Her immaculate blonde hair with nary a wrinkle. Her slightly pink cheeks that seemed to highlight her face. Her pink lips upturned with a small smile. Perfectly manicured eyebrows. Her form-fitting dress, hugging her figure in all the right places.
Harry shook himself. He certainly had something for blonde hair and blue eyes. Now that he saw it, he is seeing Daphne in Narcissa and Narcissa in Daphne. They were almost like twins. He shook himself from the various fantasies his mind was running at blistering pace. He realized that he was staring.
Arcturus and Melania shared a small smile. They did notice the actions of the two. Him being mesmerized and their granddaughter being almost swept off her feet judging by her expression.
Harry then let his eyes fall on the younger girls. Andromeda Black. She looked around to be the same age as James and Sirius and had brown hair. Her face a rather beautiful one having all of the classic features that the black family was known for.
He then finally turned to the last of the three sisters feeling his negative feelings rise as he did so. However the moment his eyes fell on her 12 year old cute face, all anger and disgust, he felt disappeared as the girl watched him shyly. Looking at her face he did not see anything other than childish wonder and innocence. This little girl in the last timeline had been corrupted by those who were supposed to protect her. Not this time though. He would make sure she would grow up to be whatever she wanted to be and not some fanatic bootlicker.
Harry then walked to the head of the table and stood in front of his seat.
"Arcturus." Harry smiled slightly and extended his hand. The older man shook his hand.
"Lord Black. Welcome to my home." Harry nodded. He extended his hand to the older woman and Melania Black placed her hand in his.
"Mrs Black." Harry placed a kiss on her knuckles.
"Welcome home, Lord Black."
Harry smiled charmingly. "Pleasure, my lady."
Harry then turned back to face the entire table. "Please sit." The others followed his command.
"Kreacher." The elf popped in. "Dinner, please." The elf nodded and popped out.
He turned back to the others.
"I guess introductions are in order."
"Why don't you start?" Harry nodded towards Sirius. Sirius nodded and stood up. But was stopped when Harry said.
"No. Please be seated. It's fine. Etiquette is not important amongst family." Harry smiled gently at the boy.
Sirius grinned a little as he sat down already liking his new cousin. "My name is Sirius Black. I am the eldest son of Walburga and Orion Black. I am in my fourth year at Hogwarts." Sirius finished.
"Hmm..the white sheep of the Black family…" Sirius nodded. "That is a wonderful title to have." Harry chuckled and Sirius followed suit.
"I think you are the first to be sorted in Gryffindor from this family?" Sirius nodded proudly.
Harry turned to the boy next to Sirius.
"You must be Regulus Black?" Harry questioned the boy. Regulus nodded.
"Yes sir." Harry shook his head.
"I am not an old man, Regulus. There is no need to call me sir." Harry pointed out, causing the boy to blush slightly. Harry figured the lad was a rather shy one.
"And what about you?" He asked.
"What house would you be in?"
"Slytherin." Came Regulus reply.
Harry nodded.
"Very Good."
Harry then turned to their parents.
"Orion Black and Walburga Black." The two nodded.
"Nice to meet you." He dipped his head in greeting and turned to the other side.
"You must be Cygnus Black?" The burly man nodded. "And this lovely lady…."
"My wife. Druella Black." Harry politely dipped his head. "A pleasure my lady." The woman smiled gently.
"And these must be your daughters?" The woman nodded.
"My eldest, Narcissa." Harry once again stared at the girl who smiled politely at him. She blushed slightly and dipped her head as her eyes met his.
Once again, this didn't go unnoticed by Arcturus and his wife. This time though, even Druella noticed the interaction.
"Hello." He whispered though his voice was heard clearly.
"Hi." She turned away from his field of vision and Harry was pleased that he could make her blush again.
"It's a wonderful name. Just like the one who carries it." He cheered mentally when he was able to get another blush.
"Thank you." Narcissa whispered.
"Tell me about yourself, Narcissa."
The girl cleared her throat. "I am in my final year at Hogwarts. And I am in Slytherin house." She said.
"I like charms. I like to think that I am a fair hand at that subject." Harry nodded.
"What have you thought about your future?" Harry questioned curiously.
"You will be finishing in a few months. Have you planned for a career or are you going to get married and settle down?" He finished as he slightly leaned forward.
Harry noticed the girl tense slightly.
"You don't happen to be courting anyone, are you?" The girl shook her head.
"No. I am not." Harry hummed in response and signaled for Narcissa to continue.
"I would like to study to be a healer." Narcissa expressed as Kreacher brought the dinner.
Harry nodded. "A noble profession." Harry said.
Narcissa seemed to be gathering courage to say something but was hesitating. She looked up to the young man who nodded encouragingly at her.
"It's fine. You can speak." Harry assured the girl.
"Madam Pomfrey has offered me an apprenticeship at Hogwarts after my seventh year." She said in a rush
Harry smiled at the girl.
"That is wonderful, Narcissa." Harry clapped.
"I wanted to speak to Grandfather and ask for his permission." She said as she looked at Artucus who shook his head.
"I am not the one to give you permission anymore, Narcissa. " He nodded towards Harry.
"Come now, Narcissa. If that is your interest, who am I to stop you from pursuing it? If that is what you want to do, that is what you are going to do." Harry said.
Narcissa smiled at him. "Does that mean that I can?" She asked hopefully.
"Once again, you don't need my permission. But if you still need it, you have my permission." Harry assured her.
Narcissa's smile lit up the entire room.
"Thank you."
"What about that Malfoy boy, Narcissa?" Her father questioned gruffly.
Narcissa cocked an eyebrow not knowing what he was talking about.
"Didn't he tell you that he asked about courting you?
Narcissa stiffened.
"No." She muttered.
"What are you going to do about that?" Cygnus questioned.
"I am not interested in Lucius Malfoy, father," Narcissa whispered heatedly as she looked down.
Walburga Black chose that moment to speak.
"Now…now dear. Lucius Malfoy is a perfect gentleman. He comes from a fine pureblood family. He is handsome and he is on his way to being an upstanding citizen of our World." She pointed out and Harry had to hold himself back not to bash her in after hearing her condescending voice.
"He would make a great match for you. And our family will look good with this alliance." She finished and looked to be on step towards a full rant.
Harry had enough.
"That is not the topic of discussion, Mrs Black. She will speak about it when she is ready. She did just mention that she has no interest in the boy, whoever the hell he is. Let me make something clear, any offer of any kind for anyone will have to be approved by me. The consequences of going behind my back will be most unpleasant. " Harry spoke in a tone that meant that this discussion was over.
The table became silent and Narcissa conveyed a silent thank you.
They continued eating silently for some time.
"Bellatrix?" Harry decided that it was time to speak to the girl.
"Yes?" She looked up. "What about you? Tell me about yourself."
The girl brightened up.
"I will be starting my second year in Hogwarts in the new term. I am in Slytherin." She said.
"I am also the best in the class. My favourite subject is Defense against the Dark Arts but for some reason, none of our defense teachers stick along for a long time. Or so my sisters tell me." She frowned.
Harry chuckled. He knew about the stupid curse on that position at Hogwarts.
"I want to be a duelist. I like dueling, but my father won't teach me." Harry chuckled, enjoying this interaction. This Bella was so cute that he couldn't help but be protective of her.
"How about this?" Harry leaned forward.
"If you and Sirius managed to get the highest marks in Defense, I will teach you dueling." Harry said.
Sirius gaped at him.
"You might not know it, but I like to know about the likes and dislikes of my family, Sirius. And I know for a fact that you love dueling." Harry pointed out.
"So….what do you guys say? Will you get me the scores needed?"
Bellatrix nodded quickly. And Sirius grinned back at Harry.
"Ok. Now, let's get to Andromeda." The little girl blushed as she suddenly became the centre of attention.
"Like Sirius you will be starting your fifth year soon and if I assume correctly you are in Slytherin am I correct?" The girl nodded.
"What about you? What do you want to do?"
"I like potions. It's interesting." Andromeda replied.
"What do you want to become, Andromeda?" Harry questioned.
She looked like she was contemplating something. "I don't know. There are a lot of options and I have seen and even few that I haven't. But I guess my wish is to become either a solicitor or a potions mistress."
Andromeda replied.
"Good." She was one of the few decent people he had met in his previous life. And she had become a potions mistress and owned an apothecary.
"Now that all is done. Let me introduce myself. I am Harry Potter Black. The Lord of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter and Black." He said.
"I was tutored privately abroad from a very young age, and now that it's done, I have returned to my home." He said.
"With that being said, I am yet to take my NEWTs which would be put out of the way in a few days." Harry said.
"I have no particular field of favourites, but if I had to choose one, Defense against the Dark Arts do intrigue me a lot. I would like to think I am a fair hand at the other subjects as well."
His face twisted into a form of grimace.
"I don't hate the subject, but I really don't like potions. Not when I am doing it. Not when I am taking it after something happens." He shuddered.
"They are kind of disgusting." He pointed out. His eyes widened slightly.
"Please don't tell my mother I said that." He pleaded to Arcturus, who chuckled, amused by his request.
"Why did you go abroad to study?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
Harry hummed.
"Well, I don't know if it's true, but they said that I had difficulty controlling my magic. So, they had to send me off to hone my magic and that couldn't have waited till Hogwarts."
"Do you like Quidditch?" Regulus piped up from next to Sirius.
"I love Quidditch." He watched the brothers lighten up.
"In fact, James has not let me go without an hour of Quidditch from the day I returned." It was true. James had made sure to drag him to play Quidditch so that he became better.
"James is excellent at Quidditch." Sirius muttered.
"I know. Guess we have it in our blood." Harry shrugged, grinning at Sirius.
The dinner was completed and they stood up and were about to retire to the sitting room when Druella stopped them.
"Narcissa? Why don't you show Harry around the house?" She suggested
Narcissa glanced expectantly at Harry. Harry nodded as he extended his arm.
Narcissa smiled beautifully as she linked her arm with his and led him the other way.
Druella watched them go.
"They make a beautiful couple." She smiled.
—--
Narcissa showed Harry around Grimmauld Place, explaining everything that she could, though, in truth, she was relishing the closeness between the two.
Her grandfather had come in a week ago and had explained that there would be a new lord of the house. That had not gone down well with Walburga. She was furious and she made it clear by ranting and raving at her grandfather of all people.
He had finally snapped, having had enough of her denials. He had made it clear that she would shut up and behave. Walburga was a crazy woman, but she wouldn't dare cross her Grandfather.
She herself was curious about this new person who had impressed her Grandfather.
Harry Potter was not what she was expecting. Merlin when her eyes met his, she felt herself being drawn into him. She couldn't stop the blushes that appeared.
He was different. Not arrogant. Not self-conceited. And he was handsome. Very handsome. He spoke with a charm and she couldn't help but open up to him.
Now, she was enjoying walking close to him and showing him around as he listened attentively to her words.
"It doesn't look like that, but this is a very big house." Harry pointed out.
"Yes." She replied.
"What can I say, magic is wonderful."
"You seemed nervous when Malfoy was mentioned, Narcissa." Harry watched her stiffening again.
"Is he causing any trouble?" He questioned the girl gently.
Narcissa could see the concern on his face.
"No. But, I don't like him a lot. He is a ponce." She said, anger in her voice.
"He is an arrogant, egotistical, idiot that thinks he owns everybody just because his father throws around some money."
"Calm down Narcissa. Calm down." Harry held her hands in his. "It's fine. Don't worry."
"Sorry." She mumbled turning red.
Harry smiled at the girl.
"It's alright, Narcissa. No harm done."
The two then returned to the sitting room.
"Arcturus. If it isn't too much trouble, I would like to get going." He said.
"It's getting late."
Arcturus stood up.
"Of course, son." Harry shook his hand once more.
He turned back to address the others.
"I'll see you guys around. If there is anything you want, don't hesitate to write." He said to the youngsters.
Narcissa walked up to him. "I'll walk you out." She followed the man outside.
Harry stopped by the door.
"I guess I'll see you soon." He smiled.
"Write to me." He said and the girl nodded quickly.
"I will. Bye." She waved as he waved back and watched him disapparate.
She sighed softly and walked back into the house. She almost bumped into her mother who was waiting for her.
She was staring at her in amusement.
"So…." Her mother drawled amusingly.
Narcissa blushed.
"Quiet, mother. It's nothing."
Druella hummed softly, her eyes lit with mischief.
"Sure, dear. Whatever helps you sleep."
Narcissa walked back to her room, humming softly to herself. The day had been very good.
