"I'm glad we're finishing early, there's still one supply run left and we're done! I can't wait for the ceremony tomorrow! There's going to be a lot of people here for that Military Police parade!" Ruth excitedly spoke beside Floch on the carriage.

"Same, I suppose."

Ruth turned to him, a troubled look on her face as she scanned his features. "You're really joining the survey corps aren't you..."

"I am."

"...I know it's... I know you spent all this time helping me overcome my obstacles, I can't be grateful enough for your help. I don't think... I don't think I'm brave enough for that, a-at least not yet..." Ruth trailed, looking down at her feet.

"It's alright Ruth, you have nothing to prove."

"I know that, It's just that all of us will head to the Garrison and you'll be the odd one out..."

"And that's perfectly fine, I didn't offer you my help just so you could feel indebted to me, the last thing I want is for you to risk your life just because you think you have to repay me or something stupid like that."

"I do owe you though, nobody did what you had done for me."

"Then do me a favor and stay out of trouble, not for my sake but your family. The Garrison offers decent pay, it'll go a long way for them."

Ruth D. Kline didn't dare to move a muscle, opting to do her best impression of a corpse while buried underneath the rubble. Her clothes had been drenched in some kind of liquid, whether it was her blood or not remained unclear, though strangely enough she felt relatively fine. Enormous feet pound the ground next to her as they slowly make their way deeper into the city, each step tugged at her soul as the fear of being discovered haunted her.

The smell of rain and blood hung in the air, tears streaming down her face as fear latched onto every inch of her body and prevented her from leaving, potentially marking this small mound of debris as her grave. Without warning a Titan stopped near her, she could barely make out its figure from behind the gaps of wood and rocks above her. To her horror, the Titan ate what was left of her teammates underneath the boulder.

Bile rose to the roof of her mouth, grimacing as she forced herself to swallow all of the acidic bitterness down her throat. The Titan suddenly paused, it curiously turned in her direction causing the girl to stiffen up. It made its way to her and reached down for her, Ruth whimpered in horror as its fingers were only mere inches away ready to clamp down on her body.

It paused all of a sudden, alerted by a sound coming from behind. The Titan looked back to see a surviving member of the vanguard attempt to run away, aroused by the presence of a human it picked up speed and ran after them. The beast left her a shell of her former self, as the pressure that built up in her chest exploded and left her a sobbing wreck. She carefully pulled her arm out of the open and tried to hide better underneath the rubble, Her face scrunched in despair, and her eyes shut as she cried silent tears.

"I was so close to giving up and running back then."

Shut up.

"What I'm saying is, that nobody is perfect. Everyone gets scared, everyone fails, and there's no shame in that."

This was different!

"The only ones who should be ashamed are the ones who don't try, the ones who sit by the side and do nothing to turn their lives around."

She'd be dead in seconds! They would only catch her and tear her apart in the street!

"You can do great things, Ruth.

The only question is, are you just going to sit around and cry or will you take action?"

Her eyes snapped open, Floch's words suddenly breathing some courage into her. She contemplated for a moment before hardening her resolve. Ruth made sure she heard nobody nearby before she attempted to free herself. With some effort, she managed to push away the debris from her top half before crawling out of there. Only to freeze in terror as she finally realized that the blood had been oozing from the corpse that laid between her legs. She crawled away frantically and hugged the wall, remaining still as statue as she gazed at the corpse with intensity.

A sudden thought entered her mind as she looked back down at her body, her stomach sank when she saw that her ODM gear had been irreparably damaged. She tried to launch a hook to jump away but nothing but a pathetic hiss of gas could be heard. Her brows knitted into a frown before she removed the gear and carefully made her way through the city, heart thumping intensely in her chest.

'I just have to reach HQ, better yet... find someone with their ODM gear intact... but where?' She thought to herself as she sneaked along the wall, only stopping to peek around a corner.

Her eyes widened in horror upon seeing the carnage before her, dozens of eaten bodies scattered in the streets as Titans move from one corpse to the next, a gallery of blood and gore fitting for morbid eyes. She ripped her sight away from it and pushed her back against the wall with heavy pants. Her knees wobbled but she held her strength, she quickly ran to the other side of the street and kept moving forward, occasionally hiding to avoid detection.

Ruth took cover in an alley, desperately attempting to catch her breath. She peeked to check the streets, inwardly trying to figure out which route would be best.

'They're all over town, If I stay here any longer they'll sandwich me from all sides, I need to get to the river...'

She suddenly felt something wet on her cheek, was it raining again? Ruth looked up, coming face to face with a titan that had been hanging on the edge of the building above.

Ruth was rooted in her spot from fear, the six-meter titan grinned down at her menacingly before slowly descending to devour her. Ruth was shaken out of her stupor as her fight or flight response kicked in, she turned and nearly tripped on her feet as she ran through the alley. She made her way into an open door on the other side of the street.

Ruth dived for cover as the wall behind her shattered to pieces, she turned around to see the titan reach for her. She stood up and ran through the hallway where it quickly paralleled her from the outside. Ruth made her way up the stairs when the titan burst through the wall again and reached inside, she barely managed to jump in time for the first floor when it ripped part of the staircase down.

She ran like hell to the other end of the hall and broke the window with her sword, using a chair she found laying around to break the window of the adjacent building before jumping towards it for safety. Ruth ran up the stairs of that building higher than what the titan could reach before hiding inside the first room she found, her eyes roamed around the new room and she stiffened up upon landing her eyes on a peculiar sight.

Ehrmich, 10:49 AM

It was another day of paperwork for one Erwin Smith, another day taken away from pursuing his dream. No matter, the scouts were no strangers to hardships. Today's paperwork was tomorrow's progress, in due time they will be able to settle things in court and resume their operations. He set down a letter on his desk, stamped with the crest of the interior, before locking eyes with Hange.

"Have we heard back from any of the nobles we contacted?" He said.

"Unfortunately not, It was the correct move to focus our efforts on winning over the merchants and nobility but... well.. aghhh dammit!" She said before nearly ripping her hair out.

"Section commander!" Moblit fretted behind her.

She sighed. "Aside from the Garrison, we truly have no other support. There is going to be so much pressure on us to perform exceptionally well for our trial expedition." She frowned.

Erwin looked thoughtful for a moment. "Do not overthink things Hange, we will pull through this. By the evening we'll set out to begin recruitment, then proceed with the trial run by the end of the month. For now, we focus on yielding satisfying results for the court."

Hange nodded though she still had her doubts, he had confidence that the five years of relative peace would encourage more cadets to join their ranks. Erwin tore his eyes from his papers to gaze at the street outside, recalling that trainee he once spoke to years ago, Floch was it? If memory served him right he would be among those who would willingly enlist with the corps, Erwin would certainly look forward to that.

"Commander!"

The three occupants of the room were alerted by the newcomer, as a worn-out survey corps officer stood to catch his breath. He looked up while huffing and panting, locking eyes with Erwin. A couple of curious officers peeked at them from the corridor behind him, before he spoke to relay a distressing message.

"The garrison stationed at the walls received a distress message from Trost, It's been breached by the colossal titan earlier this morning!"

Erwin grew alarmed at the information, his features hardened as he immediately stood up. "Alert the squad leaders, mobilize all units! I want all hands on deck as soon as possible!" He barked.

"Yes sir!" The man replied before saluting and running out of the room, those who overheard were already in the process of throwing away their formal uniforms and rushing for the armory.

"The colossal appeared again?!" Hange repeated to herself in horror. "Wait, the MP forbid us from crossing through there for our cancelled expidition."

Erwin's face scrunched in anger as he walked through the halls at a brisk pace with the two officers in tow, preventing them venturing out of the walls was one thing, but he'd be damned if he allowed Nile and his men to walk all over them at a time like this. Erwin took notice of Levi and his squads rushing from the corner of his vision. "We just heard, you think they'll appreciate us showing up after blocking us out?" Levi spoke in a dry tone.

"We still have our responsibilites. Get ready on the double." Erwin replied sternly.

"Tsk. Come one, let's go. All of you better not be rusty, especially you four-eyes." Levi spoke to his squad.

"It'll be a breeze, Levi!" Hange grinned at him trying to lighten the mood.

Petra and the others followed after the Ackerman, though she grew noticeably worried. "If Trost is under attack, then that means Floch must be caught up in the battle right now."

Oluo's eyes widened. "Shit, I forgot the brat was there."

"Who's Floch?" Eld asked in confusion.

"Oi, less talk and more focus," Levi spoke with narrowed eyes.

"Yes, captain!" They all said in unison.

Erwin's brows knitted into a grim expression as everything dawned on him, it was now a race against time to save Trost. If they were to fail again, then It could spell the beginning of the end for humanity.

An end to his dream.

"We Will Use Any Means Necessary To Ensure That The Missions And Our Efforts To Take Back This World Are Not Abandoned." - Erwin Smith 850 AD, during the last days of the false monarchy.

14:34 PM

The footsteps rumbled the street as dust shaked down over Louise's head, the girl curled up against the wall with her knees tucked against her chest, doing her best to drown out their sounds and the weeping of those huddled around her. For the first time in her life, the girl felt entirely spent following the grief of her mother's untimely demise. The only consolation she had left was the promise made to her by that redheaded soldier whose name she had already forgotten amid all of her anguish and turmoil, puffy eyes traced their path to the weapon that he gave her before rolling upwards towards the entrance of the basement. She found herself rather intrigued when she laid eyes on the group of adults gathered behind a staircase.

Her childish curiosity got the best of her as she carefully made her way towards them, to not disturb those sitting around her. She snuck behind the staircase and poked her head from the side to spy on their conversation in which they spoke in hushed tones.

"You've heard and felt what's happening outside! They're destroying all the buildings! It's already been three hours, the boy is not coming back, for all we know they're all dead out there!" A woman hissed at the people circled around her.

Another woman who had saved Louise when her mother was devoured spoke. "We can't lose hope just yet! Kurt, please talk some sense into this madwoman!"

The man in question scrunched his face in discomfort. "I... I don't know..." He whispered. "He said their Headquarters was overrun with titans, maybe she's right..."

"He told you it would be two hours at most did he not? It's already passed that, there's nothing but titans out there now." The mad brunette said.

The old man backs her. "This situation is rather grim I am afraid, we are far too deep inside the town to be able to safely reach the gate, and with children at that. I fear that the girl's right, we truly have no other choice."

The blonde woman spoke up again in defiance. "There is always a choice! What harm would it do to wait a day or two?! What you're suggesting... It is extreme!" She hissed back.

"These comrades he spoke of, they're likely kids just like him, we can't put our faith in them, I'm sorry..." Kurt spoke defeatedly.

"If not them then the rest of the army! They could send in the Survey corps!"

"Oh please!" The other woman scoffed in ridicule.

Another man spoke up, seemingly convinced by them. "If we wait here which is all we can do, only two things are waiting for us, titans or starvation. It's over, the military will not be coming back just like how they abandoned Shiganshina and all of the other districts in wall Maria."

"I will not be complicit in killing children!" She replied in a tone of finality.

The brunette stares her dead in the eyes, before pulling violet flowers from her sachel with everyone's eyes widening upon recognizing what she held, Louise tried her best to see to no avail.

"Wolfsbane, odorless, tasteless and works quick on children. I keep it around me for this exact reason, we can sneak upstairs and cook it with some soup and pass it around, this quantity will be potent enough to kill us all quickly even the fat man Kurt." She said.

"That's..." The blonde woman falters before her voice dies down.

"We will vote on it, Those in favor of the madwoman?" Kurt spoke.

All hands raise except for one, Louise's eyes widened in horror before quietly slipping away. She made it back to where she originally sat and laid on the floor rigidly with a racing pulse, blankly staring ahead of her as the situation dawned on her feeble mind. Her breathing turned erratic as panic began to set in, tears streamed down her face once more as an aching desire to be held by her mother festered in her heart.

15:24 PM

Amber eyes fluttered open calmly in a momentary fit of confusion over his whereabouts, he sat up trying to make sense of his bearings before a jolt of pain shoots through his head. He grimaces as he presses his palm against his forehead as if trying to hold his head together. Floch peeked through the gaps between his fingers to find himself in a makeshift bed alongside a couple of injured cadets, with one of them being Sandra.

"Hey, you're finally awake." A voice greeted him.

Floch looked to his side to find one of the cadets he rescued earlier, lying on a mattress on the floor next to him with his foot wrapped in bandages. "You've been out for a couple of hours, everyone's been holding this castle down waiting for you to wake up." He informed him.

Floch releases a shaky breath, still affected by the pain. "Where are they?"

"Majority is on watch outside for titans, though last I heard Jean, Marco, and a few others are in one of the offices upstairs."

His eyes lingered on Sandra's unconscious form. "Have we been attacked in the time I was out?"

The boy shakes his head. "No, the titans kept away from the castle so far." The redhead stood up with some effort, the dull pain in his thigh suddenly stabbing at him.

"HNNngh"

"Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine." Floch replied before fully standing up on his feet against the cadet's protests, limping out of the room.

Jean, Marco, Armin, Mikasa, Annie, Reiner, Bertholdt, Connie, and Sasha were gathered in an office, waiting on a single person to wake back up. Armin was nervously pacing around the room like an anxious parent with the rest idly sitting around, some observing him, including Sasha who had been dangling her feet from the top of a book shelve. Fed up with his pacing, Annie decided to voice her concerns. "What the hell are we sitting around here waiting for? We should be leaving for the wall before the titans swarm us." She irritably spoke, Reiner and Bertholdt sent her knowing glances but remained silent.

"You know we can't do that, remember what Floch said, there are still people who need us out there." Marco objected.

"In that case shouldn't we get help from the military stationed at wall Rose?" Reiner interjected.

Marco faltered. "That's a... Good point..." He trailed.

"The military might not agree to help, back in Shiganshina they left behind a lot of the people who were caught up in the stampedes," Armin argued somberly.

"I can agree that we signed up to protect these people, but doesn't it seem like this kind of mission is well above our capabilities?" Connie spoke with uncertainty.

Jean grit his teeth, seemingly in conflict with himself. "Even so, we have to hear what Floch has to say first."

Annie narrowed her eyes. "Why should we? He's not our commanding officer."

"But he is the one who took charge when we were all panicking on those roofs, it's thanks to him that we're here now with supplies and shelter," Marco said.

"Shelter that will not last long against titans, this castle is a glorified tombstone. It wouldn't be long before they overwhelm us, it'll be like fish in a barrel." Bertholdt added his correction.

Mikasa furrowed her brows. "I can buy us a lot of time until Floch recovers, I am strong, stronger than everyone here. If you're so cowardly that you choose to run away then do it, wouldn't make any difference to me."

Annie challenges her gaze. "Don't you high road me, you're only here because you can't cope with Eren's death aren't you?"

The air grew thick with tension as the two girls were locked in a standoff, everyone in the room grew noticeably worried that the two would have a go at each other, especially at such a bad time. Armin moved behind Mikasa and clutched her arm to prevent her from lashing out, Mikasa barely showed any reaction to this as she continued to gaze at her with a steeled expression. The doors to the office were pushed open before anything regrettable could be done as a familiar redhead walked in, all eyes were on Floch as he limped his way inside.

"Floch!" Jean called out.

The boy in question limped his way to the center of the room and leaned against a table, everyone's eyes now on him. He glanced around and noted their states, making sure not to give off anything at the sight of the warriors. His eyes roam around from face to face, he doesn't single out the warriors as he does so, as all the hatred and malice he feels towards them at this point is concealed behind his weary gaze.

"Did I interrupt something?" He spoke.

"Fortunately, yes." Jean replied

"Then finish it later, Connie gather anyone still able to fight outside on the roof, it's urgent." He says before ordering the boy.

"Alright, I'm on it!" He replied before bolting out of the room.

"Before we continue, I need to make sure we're all on the same page here, we can't fight amongst each other at a time like this." Floch began.

Annie scoffed. "This mission of yours is borderline suicide."

Floch regarded her with steely eyes. "Nobody here stays against their wishes, you're free to leave at any time, the rest of us are simply bound by duty. I gave my word to those people that I'll come and save them and I'm not ready to go back on it. If you cannot commit to your one core purpose as a soldier then, by all means, retreat to the walls."

Guilt ate at Bertholdt as he recalled the redheaded girl who had saved him the day before, he averted his eyes and looked down to the floor with a troubled expression as Annie sharpened her glare. She backed down as the remaining occupants of the room regard him with intrigue.

Jean was the first to ask. "So, what do you have planned hotshot?"

"Fetch me a map and I'll tell you, horsey."

Louise's heart raced as she watched the people line up to receive their share of the poisoned soup, she pressed her back against the wall far from the rest as she frantically watched them drink the tainted water. She froze as her eyes met those of that madwoman, fear gripped her heart even more as the blonde woman from before approached her with two cups in hand, she knelt by the girl and offered her the cup.

"Here you go, sweetheart." She told her kindly.

Louise looked up at her with tears beginning to prick her eyes and shook her head, the woman's eyes widened. Her gaze softened as she smiled at her warmly, she set down her cup and reached her smaller hand, reassuringly squeezing it. "I know you're scared, please have faith in me. I'll never hurt you, child." She smiled.

Louise couldn't stop her tremors, but she had enough trust in the woman to accept the cup even against all rationale. She reluctantly pressed the cup against her lips and drank the liquid before her eyes went wide.

"Get A Hold Of Yourself! You're Not The Only One! We're All Struggling With Our Fear..." - Marco Bodt 850 AD, to Daz during the struggle for Trost.

16:26 PM

"People up ahead!" One Survey corps soldier called out.

A brigade of Survey corps soldiers raced along the earthen path to Trost with one Erwin Smith in the lead, the horses were pushed to their absolute limit to reach the town as quickly as possible with the carriages carrying the cargo lagging not too far behind the rest. Soon enough, they were met with the first group of casualties being transported to Ehrmich, they slowed down their pace as the two parties crossed paths.

"Commander Erwin!" A Garrison officer called out for him from between the crowds of injured soldiers and civilians walking past the scouts.

"Officer," Erwin replied, now walking at a slow pace.

"You're all late to the party, Trost's already gone." The officer said as he walked back with them.

"Next time we'll make sure we get properly invited, might tip the scales a little bit." Levi fired back sarcastically.

The officer looked slightly uncomfortable. "I wouldn't know anything about that, as far as I'm concerned we should have had you there with us."

"We will deal with this discrepancy later, what is the current situation?" Erwin interjected.

"The town's in shambles, it's been completely overrun about four hours ago! As of now the Garrison and MP have set up a joint task force to deal with the situation, we're quickly evacuating as many people as possible while they prepare to defend wall Rose's gate against the armored titan!"

"Has it made an appearance yet?" Erwin asked.

"Not as far as I know, the colossal showed up and disappeared as usual but no word of the other guy yet."

"And how are they planning to defend against the armored exactly?" Mike Zacharias inquired.

The officer shrugged. "Beats me! There's barely any defenses set up aside from the multiple canons stationed along the walls and the surrounding buildings, high command is scratching their heads trying to figure out a counter-strategy."

"Very well, we'll be on our way," Erwin said.

"Goodluck! Once you get there meet up with commander Pixis and Nile Dok, they've commandeered a fishing company's outpost by the river to use as headquarters!" He shouted at the men as he stopped walking along with them.

"So, the town's pretty much gone now but that's expected. What's our next move, Erwin?" Mike asked.

"Can't say, for now, our greatest concern is the second attack from the armored. We will need to meet with the commanders at the scene and gather more information before proceeding."

"There's bound to be some internal clashes between us and the MP's stationed there. Will we even be able to save Trost at this stage?" Hange asked somberly.

"We don't know for certain, that doesn't mean we'll sit back and not try. Our primary concern should be to repel the next phase of their attack, we'll worry about sealing the breach later."

Erwin looked back toward all the officers behind him as he tugged on the reins of his steed. "Time to pick up speed again, let's move out!" He calls out as everyone followed after him.

Erwin sets his eyes on the path before him with a look of determination, the cost no longer mattered to him as they rode into the battlefield. Trost must be retaken by any means necessary.

15:37 PM

Everyone was on high alert scanning the surrounding area as some of the cadets helped the supply team setup more defenses around the castle, just behind them at the center of the roof a group of trainees under Floch's leadership gathered in a circle to discuss their next mission with the boy sat in the middle with a map spread on the floor. Bertholdt, Annie, and Reiner stood a good distance away from them to discuss on their own.

"I don't like this, we can't stay in this castle playing hero when we have more important things to do, it's an unnecessary risk," Annie spoke with furrowed brows.

"I'm not a fan of this either, but we have no choice but to follow along with this charade. We'll slip away when they bite off more than they can chew and carry on the mission, nobody will fault us for deserting them." Reiner tried to appease, causing her to scoff.

"Still, I think there's something more important the two of you aren't considering," Bertholdt interjected.

"What's that?" Reiner asked.

"Forster should be dead right now, If anything he'll be more trouble in the future. If we go along with this, we'll need to find a way to remove him from the picture."

Reiner contemplated for a moment. "I figured he'd die after I pushed him but he managed. As Marco said, it's only thanks to him they've all reached this far, he could become dangerous later."

"Taking him out with so many people around won't be easy," Annie noted.

"Well, Nothing is ever easy but we have options, we can always rig the ar-." Reiner said.

"Hey, what are you all standing there for? You'll miss the debrief." A voice called out from behind them.

They were rooted in their spots from shock as they turned to see noneother than Franz and Hannah walking up behind them, to their relief it didn't seem like they overheard them. The couple walked passed them as the trio share a look before joining the rest.

"Alright, we'll go through it one more time since some of you weren't here," Floch said as his eyes roll up towards the sheepish-looking Hannah and Franz.

He took a stick and pointed at their position on the map. "HQ's here, our target location will be a residential building behind the Townsquare area just shy of six hundred meters away from where we are. With our vertical maneuvering gear, this distance is pretty much nothing, but we have to account for seventeen civilians that need to be rescued so we can't exactly just carry them all back."

"I assume we'll be using the carriages in the back to transport them, if so how can we provide safe passage?" Armin asked.

He nodded back. "Precisely, Cutting west through the government offices will be the fastest route to the Townsquare, All the roads on this path are wider and it will lessen the chances of any ambushes around corners. Still, we will need two people to man the carriages while the rest of us protect from above. Is anyone up for the task? I'd volunteer but I'm more useful in combat."

"Even with a bad leg?" Gordon asked skeptically, disliking the idea of his friend pushing himself to such limits.

Floch stared at him unflinchingly. "It's nothing I can't handle."

Everyone looked between each other in uncertainty, Armin was about to raise his hand before Sasha steeled herself and stepped forward, beating him to it. "I'll do it! I've been driving carriages since I was a small child!"

Floch smiled at her briefly. "Good, anyone else?"

Marco contemplated for a moment before stepping forward as well. "Me too."

"Great, we have our drivers. The next part is easy enough, This will be a twenty-two-man mission, and while It would be best for us to stick together I have to account for ambushes on our way back. We'll be leaving behind three people at each major intersection to secure our route, use flares to signal each other, Mikasa and I will lead the charge as usual. That said, squad seven is disbanded, Franz, Hannah, and Gordon will be filling the vacant spots in the other squads. Squads six and five will stay behind and help the supply team defend the castle."

"And after that?" Jean raised a brow.

Floch stood up with a wince, discarding the stick. "Once they're rescued we will bring them back here and send word to the soldiers stationed at the wall Rose to lower elevators for us, we move them to safety if they give us confirmation otherwise we'll resort to carrying them up the wall ourselves one by one."

Jean sighed and nodded along. "I'm fine with that..."

Floch looked back at everyone around him. "Is everything understood?!" He barked.

"Yes!"

"Then get ready! We move out in five!" He yelled out.

All the cadets scattered to prepare as Floch walked away with Sasha and Marco to the carriages down the stairs. He couldn't help himself from smiling as the girl went on about her childhood out in the wild and her various adventures with her father. It wasn't long before her chatter devolved into food and rural delicacies, at which point Floch was grateful for Franz's arrival.

"Floch!" The boy called out.

Marco and Sasha stopped in their tracks and turned around but Floch quickly dismissed them, Franz was nearly out of breath when he caught up with him.

"Something wrong?" Floch asked with a hint of concern.

"N-not ahhh... necessarily, I just uh..." Franz trailed before pulling out a necklace from his neck with two polished wooden rings attached to them. "Hey listen, I just thought... you know it's a dangerous mission, and there's so many titans out there... Maybe you could hold onto these for me for a little bit?" Franz said scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

"Franz, you're not dying out there."

"I'm begging you man, I'll never forgive myself if I lose these, and In case I don't make It, I'd want Hannah to have them! I'll do my best to protect her but my life isn't guaranteed!" He nearly shouts at him.

"And mine is?"

"You're stronger, have a good head on your shoulds and you're taking charge of this situation like a pro! Of course you are! Be honest with yourself man, I'm not ranked second in our class. I'm begging you to take these as your friend, please." Franz begged.

Floch gazed at the accessories then studied Franz closely, moments later he caved in with a sigh, begrudgingly taking the rings away. He turned on his heels and rejoined Sasha and Marco without another word.

"Thank you!" Franz shouted before leaving.

Floch paused in the middle of the corridor by himself, staring at the rings in his palm, his face contorting into a somber expression.

He was chosen for this after all.
