Well Folks, here it is! The First day of the Journey and the First true chapter of the Story! Not only do we get the reuniting of partners, but Serena will catch her very first Pokémon in Kanto AND get an evolution at the same time! Also, just like Arceus said, bringing Serena back with him also meant he would receive a second Pokémon. And I think you can guess who it is. Enough Talk! HAVE AT THE CHAPTER! HENSHIN!

POKEMON: THE REVAMPED TIMELINE: A START ONCE BEGUN, HAS BEEN RESET AGAIN!

First, if you ever get sent back in time yourself, try not to worry about which side you're facing.

You're probably gonna end up on the floor one way or another. Regardless of how much you hope to land in your bed.

Ash learned it firsthand when he fell off his bed after feeling like he was in free fall.

He immediately scrambled to his feet, hoping that either the end of the world was a dream, or that the time travel jumps worked.

He looked at his window's reflection and saw he was younger. In physical appearance anyway, if he was right, he was now about 10-13 years old now, then had a feeling he knew why.

"Ok Arceus. I get the hint. You aged me up a bit so I would be on par with Serena to make it less weird. I get that I screwed up with her until I was Monarch, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUB IT IN!" He said, accidentally shouting the last part before covering up his mouth, worried. Hearing the shuffling of feet, he immediately recognized it as his mother. Thankfully, he was a little bit disoriented from not only being sent back, but the fact that his face had a nice reintroduction to the ground.

Quickly putting on a headache from landing pose and propping himself to keep himself steady on his bed, he then noticed that it was a bunk bed instead of the bed with a cover on the top like it was when he had last seen it. He would soon be thankful for how confused he looked as his mother opened his door.

"Ash! Is everything ok? I heard you shouting. Did you fall out of the bed again?" Ash slowly turned to her, who clearly saw him and thought that he hadn't slept in days.

"It might be the fact I faceplanted or that I haven't been getting enough sleep, but did we always have a bunk bed mom?" Delia looked at Ash confused, then remembered that he had just gotten out of a dream and probably was trying to figure out what was reality.

"Not always, we got that 3 years ago. When you met a certain blond girl? You felt very awkward when you had to share, so you asked if we could get a bunk bed so that she was comfortable." The moment she said that it was like it unlocked other memories. The memories of this timeline for Ash came to him.

Here, not only did Serena not leave for Kalos, but she was also his next-door neighbor. Serena had been quite literally by his side for these past few years. Though now that also made a certain thing worse.

Specifically, a certain young professor aide named GARY.

Gary had gotten a crush on Serena the moment he had laid eyes on her in this timeline, so much so that, while he was nowhere near the jerk, he was at the start of the journey from what Ash is comparing, made him pretty jealous of the fact that it was clear to everyone, but Ash himself ("Some things never change in timelines do they Arceus?") and Serena constantly trying to deny it, was that Serena had a crush on Ash.

"OK. I think my brain has successfully done its reboot, mom. Just wish it didn't have to be tonight as I'm assuming that tomorrow is my first day as a Pokémon Trainer?" Delia smiled.

"Indeed, though technically that's today. If you want, you can go back to sleep to get some more sleep before it."

Ash was about to before he remembered something about the old timeline. He turned to the spot he had on the first day of the original and it confirmed it.

"Uh mom? Do we have an extra alarm clock anywhere?" Delia looked at where Ash was looking.

And saw a smashed up Pokeball Clock on the ground, clearly not even able to make a peep.

"Let me check to see if we have another one and let me check what time it is right now. Cause that is right, hope you forgive me when I say we should have gotten a Clock that can't roll around." Ash shook his head.

"No, we should have made sure that thing was bolted to my headstand or put in a place that it can't easily roll into my hand." Delia nodded at that.

"Hey, maybe that was the almighty God of Pokémon saying 'HEY! YOUR ALARM CLOCK BROKE! DON'T SCREW UP YOUR JOURNEY!' and made me faceplant after it rolled in my hands and in my dreams, I threw it thinking it was a real Pokeball." Delia laughed as she was about to leave the room.

"Well, you can stay up while I go check. Maybe watch a video on training or something?" Ash then saw a video that he thought useful.

"The Recommended guide to the Regions of the World!"

He picked it up and showed it to Delia, who then looked at him.

"Who are you and what have you done with Ash?"

"Eh, I've been combined with an Alternate timeline where I was 19, was about to confess my feelings to Serena, the world ended, and then I fell flat on my face." Delia then began to laugh her head off at that. She then walked over and hugged him.

"Maybe in that timeline I was reunited with your father before we died, huh?" Ash noticed that while his mother sounded like she was joking, two tears escaped her eyes. Not the happy laughing ones though. The ones of yearning.

Ash then remembered what Red had called her. Green. Why did that sound so familiar? He remembered hearing stories of the first few Dex Holders who were named after colors in both timeline schools. Green was the specialist of Evolution, earning her the nickname Evolver, while Red was the Fighter, able to utilize a Pokémon's moves in unconventional ways while also being able to us abilities in ways some found unorthodox. Was this where he got his battle prowess from? But she never used that name in front of him, so why did it feel familiar to him here?

Delia then returned with a better alarm clock, and he asked if there was a surefire way to nail it down.

Her answer was using Psyduck Tape.

With some help of when the time should have been and when he needed to wake up, Ash went back to bed after doing some last-minute studying of the Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh and Kalos Regions.

The alarm did its job a little too well.

This time around, he got up on time. Via the thing literally putting a bugle up to his ear and playing "Reveille". He very nearly jumped out, got dressed immediately.

And fell down the stairs while his mother was acting a bit like a drill sergeant until the bugle stopped.

"Should have checked HOW that thing was going to wake me up. Ow." He said as he got off the ground and took a seat at the table.

"Same, I thought it was a normal clock. But at least you're not going to be late for your first day. Serena's excited too. I can hear Grace and Serena arguing right now."

Ash listened and sure enough, Serena was yelling at Grace who was telling her to hurry up. She was having trouble deciding which hat to wear. Ash then sighed sadly a little bit. She was going back to her long hair, since the inspiration for it from what he remembered didn't exist in Kanto. At least, not right now.

He then sighed a little, calling himself an idiot for not realizing it in the original timeline. Delia noticed it and turned to him.

"Ash, is everything alright?" Ash then came up with an excuse, cause it was still true either way.

"Trying to convince myself that I will be able to have your fantastic cooking again, since it's not the end of the world and I shouldn't treat it as if it was my last meal from my lovely mother." Delia laughed at that.

"Indeed. You treated my cooking like your father did. Though thank you for feeling I am worth it Ash. Just don't call me lovely like that again. I don't want people to take it the wrong way." Ash sweat dropped. Yeah, he probably should have worded that better. Given what he accidently implied a bit through calling her "Lovely" which she was for her age, but probably shouldn't be heard coming from her son.

He quickly finished up his breakfast and hugged his mother goodbye. He asked if she could come over with his backpack once he got his starter. Giving her usual smile, she revealed that while he had done a good job, she could do a better job and put some things in that he forgot.

He then used his new memories to wait outside Serena's house, with their Rhyhorn walking out of its house and smiling at him.

"Has Serena come out, Rhyhorn?" Rhyhorn shook his head and then made a face that Ash could tell symbolically meant that Grace was almost about to argue with her daughter on what she should wear. Ash then remembered the viewing portal of X's story. Y looked to be the same as Serena, being more of a sky trainer than a performer granted but knew fashion herself. Serena told him that she always went with the opposite of what her mother thought was cute. Did she say the opposite of what she thought in order to help Serena's tastes or to encourage her own choices?

The train of thought was cut short when he heard the door open. Looking up, he was about to greet Serena when he stopped short and thought his brain was malfunctioning.

Serena's hair was the length of when she cut it in Kalos, while her outfit was the same as when she did cut it, red oversized jacket and big brown boots included. He thought that someone up top was playing a joke on him.

"Oh, hey Ash." Serena said with a blush on her face. "I take it you didn't sleep last night?" Ash didn't respond. He was too busy taking in her appearance when he finally shook himself.

"No not quite. Turns out I threw my alarm clock at the wall. Only reason I know that is because I faceplanted at 2 am this morning. Had to use the bugle alarm to wake up." Serena giggled at that. Ash then began to ask some questions since he was getting really confused.

"So, why's your hair short? I mean you look good with it short, but why did you cut it?" Serena was shocked that he had noticed it. Ash had always seemed to be dense.

"Well, today's the start of our journey, Ash. I wanted to signify it with my hair starting over. Though thank you for telling me I looked good." Ash then sighed seeing a certain piece missing.

"Also, while you honestly look beautiful in general in this outfit, I rank it down to good because I think a ribbon around your neckline on your dress would really help with a pop of color." Of course, the real reason he sighed was because the ribbon signified how important Serena was to him now.

Serena looked at Ash like he was from another planet.

"Who are you, and what have you done with Ash? Cause there's no way that dense of a boy could give me GOOD FASHION ADVICE like that. Cause you're right! A ribbon could really work out here when I can get one. What color would you recommend?" Ash told her the same thing he did to his mom, which caused her to laugh.

"In all seriousness though, I think a blue colored ribbon would help it out. I think that would be a great contrast to all this red and pink you're wearing." Serena was about to open her mouth to argue over the red and pink until she took a good look at herself in the window.

Yeah, he did have a good point. The brown of the boots and her black leggings didn't exactly stand out since, unless you really want to look at her legs and nothing else, it wasn't going to get noticed as much as the center mass. So yeah, a blue ribbon could help with the dress. Oh well she would get one the first chance she gets at a fashion shop.

"I will take that advice, but for now, let's get going to Professor Oak's lab. We need our starters." Ash then suddenly put on a smirk, which worried Serena for 2 seconds.

"Shall I escort the lovely princess to the stables for her friends, milady?" He asked her with a mock bow. Serena found it a bit silly and yet charming in a way. She held out her hand in a princess way, allowing Ash to grab it.

"Indeed, Sir Ashton, please escort me so I can get my partner for the foreseeable future." She said in a mock royal accent. Ash was smiling at the joke, though on the inside was a bit hurt that she called him the title of a knight instead of a prince.

Ah well.

He'd earn that title soon enough.

With that, and saying goodbye to Grace, they walked over to Oak's, with Ash pretending to be a Knight that was protecting the princess he was ordered to guard. Lest he face the wrath of Queen Grace.

"Strange how Ash is acting now, isn't it Grace?" Grace turned her head and saw Delia leaning on the fence.

"Last night, Ash was oblivious to the crush that Serena had on him. Now, he not only seems to pick up on it, but also gives her surprisingly good advice on her clothes. Not to mention him pretending to be her knight while she is a princess. Maybe his faceplanting woke him up in more ways than just getting out of dreamworld." Grace chuckled at that, as the mothers began to work on packing things for their children.

Oak was waiting at the front door for the 5 trainers that were starting today. Alongside his grandson Gary, a boy named Ritchie and a girl named Miette were also coming today. Ash and Serena were also starting out today, though he was worried about Ash oversleeping. Though, he was glad it was 5 people starting so he could give Ash the perfect partner.

He then saw 3 figures coming up the steps.

"Ah, Gary, Ritchie, Miette. I see you are the first ones here." Gary then took on an arrogant smirk.

"Well, Gramps, I am the destined champion of Kanto with Serena to be my partner! Of course, I wouldn't be late unlike that lazy Ash!" Miette then bore a bit of a hurt expression. Truth was, she had a crush on Gary, making her a bit jealous of Serena, though she knew that her friend did not reciprocate these affections.

Oak looked at Gary annoyed, then had a triumphant smirk on his face.

"Well, I don't think we need to worry about that at all." Gary looked behind him and saw Serena.

"Ah, the lovely Serena has come to see me get the best starter out of everyone! OK Gramps let's go before Ash comes and ruins everything!" Oak then looked at Gary and motioned him to turn around again, this time he saw on Serena's right that Ash was there.

"How long have you been standing there?"

"The entire time with Serena. Do you want to face my mother?" Gary immediately went pale at that threat. Since when did Ash jump back so suddenly like that?

"Before a fight breaks out, shall we get to business?" Ash, instead of looking at Oak angrily, smiled and then motioned for the door. Everyone looked at him, then looked at Serena. Ash had never cooled down this fast before.

She shrugged and just went inside, with Ash …

Holding the door open for her and Professor Oak.

He let Ritchie and Miette in, then very nearly closed the door on Gary.

"Watch it you loser!" Ash then turned and smirked at him.

"I'm sure the GREAT GARY OAK can take on a measly door without my help now, can't he?" Gary fumed and walked faster with his nose in the air. Everyone just stared at Ash. They had seen him get angry, upset, or even disgusted with some things that Gary did.

Never once have they seen him blow him off like that.

Oak then arrived at a device with three Pokeballs in the center.

"Now then, since Miette, Ritchie and Gary arrived first, they shall get first choice of the starters. Then Ash and Serena." Gary looked infuriated.

"Why am I going third!?"

"Because you were the second to last in, and consider this a lesson in humility, Gary." Gary pouted but stood there.

"I say ladies first, Miette." Miette looked at Ritchie and thanked him.

"Well, since I have had no experience with Pokémon besides Grass types, I will start with Bulbasaur!" she said, grabbing the green colored Pokeball and throwing it in the air. The Bulbasaur came out and looked up to his new trainer.

"Hello, Bulbasaur. My name is Miette. I'm starting my journey as a Pokémon Trainer. I would like you to be my first. Do you accept?" Bulbasaur stared at her, then swiped the piece of clothing that you would see on a maid and wrapped it around its bulb. Then smiled.

"I'm gonna need that back, but yes. We will see what looks good on you! I was thinking of the nickname Venus for you. What do you think?" Venus then used Vine whip and made a heart symbol.

"OK Ritchie, your turn." Ash realized this was the same Ritchie that he met in Indigo and Johto from the previous timeline. Was Zippo his starter?

"Well, I choose Charmander!" Grabbing the red ball, he threw it in the air. The Charmander that came out was looking around, clearly confused and scared. Then it saw Ritchie walking over to him.

"Hey, my name's Ritchie. I'm starting my journey today. And I was hoping you would be my first Pokémon. What do ya say?" The Charmander stared at him for a few seconds, then gained watery eyes and leaped at his chest.

"Just to let you know Ritchie, that Charmander has been passed over a bunch of times. You're the first ever to pick him and go for him instead of just ignoring him or opening to see what he's like." When Ritchie heard that, he set Charmander down, who looked worried about being a second guess.

"Charmander, I am sorry that has happened to you. I promise you will be my partner, I will not call you second rate, and you will not be released unless you ask for it. To signify this, how does the nickname Zippo sound to you?" Charmander's worried look changed to a bright smile as he went back to hugging Ritchie.

"Now you may go Gary." Gary just looked at them annoyed.

"Well, it was going to be my choice regardless of who went first, but you shouldn't have made the great Gary Oak wait, Grampa." With that, Gary grabbed the blue ball and threw it revealing a Squirtle. Unlike most Squirtle that had a happy looking expression, this one seemed to have a bit of an attitude. It glared up at Gary, waiting for him to say something.

"I see you're a Squirtle who doesn't take the slow road. I like that. Anyone who stands in our way, we'll demolish them! What do ya say? I wont give you a nickname since it seems like you don't want that." Squirtle then smirked and nodded. Gary returned him to the ball, then went to leave.

"Hold it, Gary. Nobody can leave until everyone has gotten their starters." Gary tried to ignore him …

Until he realized the door wasn't budging.

"Seriously!?"

"I wouldn't have invited Ash and Serena over unless I was going to give them one. But because of the test, I have decided to give them two each." Oak then smirked. "If I recall you had gotten Serena a special Pokémon to try and woo her over?" Gary paled as everyone glared at him. Serena sighed but then smiled at Oak, who got the message, but looked to Ash, expecting him to go first.

"I would like Serena to go first sir. I did let her go in ahead of me." Oak then stared at Ash. He was always eager to start his journey, yet here, he was not only patient, but also willing to go last.

"OK then. Serena, you and Ash scored the highest on the tests." Ash then used his new memories to remember that there was a test two weeks before today. It was a basic one that was meant to show you were competent enough to be a trainer, which the 5 of them obviously were. However, it was also said that there was a secret part of the test to see how well you cared for your Pokémon. It was clear that he and Serena had won it, so this was the reward. And probably Arceus' way of making sure that Ash and Serena had two starters. "And as such, because you both tied, shall each get 2 starters." Yup, Arceus.

Oak then went over to a very special podium that held 4 Pokeballs. There was a line down the middle dividing them into two on each side. The left side had a cream colored Pokeball and Pink colored Pokeball. On the right side, held a deep blue sea ball …

And a Pokeball with a lightning symbol. Ash's eyes widened at seeing that. He knew who's Pokeball that was but chose to wait until Serena was done.

"First, we shall do the Cream Ball, Serena. This Pokémon was going to be given to you as a *ahem* GIFT from Gary and an offer to travel with him." Serena then glared at Gary, who backed away in shame and fear. "I took it so he wouldn't do anything, but then you passed the test. And showed how much you care for Pokémon. Henceforth, I chose to keep this Pokémon until your journey began. This Pokémon is a little scared, but I have no doubt you can help break its shell." With that he released it.

The Pokémon that came out surprised Ash. It was an Eevee. Then he realized just WHICH Eevee this was when it took one look at Serena and darted under a table. Everyone looked at it as it shook like a leaf. Serena walked over calmly and bent down. She made no attempt to reach for it, she just smiled at Eevee.

"Hello, Eevee. My name is Serena. I am starting out today as a trainer. I don't have any dreams right now besides traveling around and making new friends, Pokémon and Trainer alike. And I would love it if you were my first Pokémon friend." Eevee stared at Serena, then slowly creeped out from under the table. She then decided to leap into Serena's arms and snuggled into her. Oak smiled then took out the pink ball.

"Now this was sent to me from Professor Sycamore. This Pokémon is known to be a fashionista from him. She hates getting dirty and hates getting her clothes messed up. Do you think you could handle it, Serena?" Serena nodded. "Then welcome Fennekin." With that he threw the Pokeball. And out came a little fox-like Pokémon with red tufts of fur coming out of the ears. It looked around confused until Serena and Eevee went in front of it.

"Good day Fennekin. I must admit, it's nice to see such a cute starter from my home region of Kalos. Eevee and I are starting a journey today, and we would appreciate your help in fashion from what Oak has told us. Would you like to join?" Fennekin smiled then leaped up and swiped Serena's hat and put it on her head. "I take it you like my hat?" Fennekin nodded and leaped up and down. Oak then handed Serena Eevee and Fennekin's Pokeballs and returned them.

Oak then grabbed the dark blue ball.

"Sycamore has told me that this Pokémon tends to leave its trainer if it does not meet its expectations. It seems to be searching for a Trainer to help it to the max. Do you think that's you?" Ash then smirked.

"If I don't try and give it my all, I have no right to be a trainer then." Oak smiled then released the Pokémon. It was a tiny blue frog that slowly opened its eyes, just wanting to get this over with. He was surprised when Ash stayed back.

"Hello Froakie. Oak has told me everything about you. I don't know whether you will see me as worthy, but we can't find out unless we try. I saw we give it a week. If I don't meet your expectations, I will send your Pokeball back to either Oak or Sycamore. Does that sound good?" Froakie stared at him. Usually, trainers will brag about how they will be the very best yet do the minimum of training after they got him. This one instead gave him an option. Well, if things don't work out, he won't have to waste energy getting back home. He nodded and then signaled Oak to put him back in the ball, which he nodded and then handed the ball to Ash.

Ash very nearly jumped back when he felt some strange energy go into the ball, but he remained calm enough to not alert Oak or anyone else. He looked at the ball for a moment, feeling like something familiar was in the ball now, but that was not important right now.

Oak then led him over to the last ball.

"Now Ash, this last one has been in my lab for a week. I found him when he was snacking on some power cables." Ah so that's why he had him. "It very nearly took my Dragonite to hold him down long enough to get him in a ball. He might be too rough for you to handle. Are you positive you still want him."

"If I ran from a Pokémon without reaching for it, should I even call myself a trainer by that point?" Oak smiled.

"Then how do you want to proceed with this?"

"First, I'll take the ball." Ash then grabbed the ball, and again, there was that strange energy feeling. He then realized it seemed to go INTO the Pokeball. "I want everyone else to back away and stay still. A sudden sound or misinterpreted movement could set him off. Oak, please get something ready in case we need to knock him out enough to get him back in the ball." Oak nodded, then motioned everyone back and brought forth a Pokeball. Ash breathed and sighed a bit.

It was going to be tough. He knew it was, but that is the problem. Pikachu wouldn't remember him. It was a fact. They hadn't met yet in this timeline. Yet he vowed he would show Pikachu the same love that he did in the previous one.

He swore it.

He threw the ball and out came Pikachu. It looked around, clearly confused as to where he was. Then looked over at Ash, who braced, ready for any attack …

And got glomped in the face.

"PIKAPI! PIKACHU!" Ash was getting rubbed by Pikachu, getting partially electrified. Ash was confused by this, then remembered what Sir Aaron had said.

"You will be getting a gift when you arrive." He suddenly realized what he meant.

He could remind them. He could remind them all, then realized something. He had touched Serena, Delia and Oak plenty of times. Why weren't they reminded? Then he remembered that when he touched Froakie's Pokeball he slightly wished that Froakie would remember and did the same with Pikachu's ball.

He wouldn't be alone, not just with Serena, but with everyone he met.

He had to wish it so to speak or focus on who it was that was in front of him. He then adopted a smirk.

He had a good idea on how to remind Serena, while also showing her that he felt the same way. And if anything got in the way? He'd let Arceus know personally especially since the overgrown llama seemed to want him to not screw it up.

Plus, it meant he could pick and choose who to remember. He then had a thought. Could he remind Red this way? And get the answers that he seeks?

He then pulled Pikachu off his face, and turned to Oak, who was staring at them. "Well, I guess you were exaggerating his bad traits, Professor. I don't think I'll have trouble with him."

"I certainly thought I wasn't, but good call on the backup just in case. In any case, everyone, it's time you went on your journey. In the generic bags out front," He said pointing out the first three who went, "you three shall get a bag with your Pokedex and your five Pokeballs for capturing. For you and Serena, Ash, I ask you to wait a little bit." Gary, Ritchie and Miette then left with Miette hugging Serena, while Ritchie high fived Ash, who kept himself from reminding Ritchie, best to remind him later down the road when he met him. Gary tried to invite Serena along with him, but she declined. He then huffed at Ash, grabbed his bag and left, with Ritchie and Miette following him shortly after.

"Now then, alongside 4 Pokeballs, since you two got two starters, I also have a special version of the Pokedex for you. It's called the National Dex. It will give you info on Pokémon that are not natively found in Kanto. Till then, have a good journey!" With that, Oak left to the back. Ash looked over at Serena, who was smiling at him. He smiled back.

"Shall we, princess?" Serena blushed.

"Yes, le-let's go." Why did it feel so natural when he said that?

They went outside and saw a crowd waiting for them. Some wishing them luck, others asking if they knew what they were going to do. Some waved banners that said, "GO ASH AND SERENA!" They looked at them fondly when Delia and Grace came forward.

"Well, the day has come. I'm going to miss you, Ash. I have everything packed for you. Oh, where's your starter?" Pikachu then appeared behind Ash's head and waved at Delia. She then saw him hold up a deep blue Pokeball.

"Oak also gave me a second one for passing the secret test. It's called Froakie. I'll show him later." She smiled and then hugged him, as much as Ash desperately wanted not to remind her. Not yet. Thankfully, it seemed to work.

"Just remember to change. Also don't do anything that will make Serena uncomfortable please." He nodded, then grabbed the bag.

Serena was in front of her mother, who hugged her tightly.

"I hope you find your dream while you're out there, Serena. Whether that be Rhyhorn Racing or something else, just make sure you don't give up." She smiled at her.

"Like Ash says, never give up until it's over." Grace smiled and then backed away.

"So, what Pokémon did you get?" Serena smiled and then revealed both Pokeballs. She then threw them, revealing Fennekin and Eevee to them, which Eevee immediately ran behind her legs in fear of all the people. Serena turned around and picked her up and cradled her.

"Don't worry, Eevee. This is my mother, Grace. She's nice, I promise." Eevee looked at Serena then at Grace, then sniffed her hand before licking it, and getting a scratch on the back of the head.

"Take care of them." She smiled.

"I intend to mom." She was about to return her, when someone kicked some dirt on Fennekin. Serena immediately tensed up at that.

"Uh Oh. Fennekin DOESN'T LIKE GETTING DIRTY AT ALL!" She yelled as Fennekin began releasing Embers at everyone.

A sudden blast of water knocked her back into the Pokeball. Everyone looked over and saw something go back into the ball that Ash was holding.

"Um, Ash, what did you do?" He then looked at her, and she had a feeling he was hiding something, which was probably a given with how differently he acted.

"Froakie released himself and doused her to stop her. I don't know why he went back into the ball." Serena stared then shrugged. Thankfully the bag her mom had didn't get hit by Fennekin's anger. She slung it over her back and then motioned her head in the direction of Route One towards Ash, who nodded.

Ash was slightly behind Serena. He had seen the ball open, but he swore it looked like Frogadier instead of Froakie. Probably just wishful thinking on his part. He stared at Serena's back then tapped Pikachu's stomach twice. Pikachu leaned his head down so Ash could whisper without being heard.

"First of all, you remember everything right?" Pikachu nodded. "OK. I think I know how to remind Serena, but I'll need your help and Froakie's." Pikachu turned to look at him, confused until he realized the plan and smirked.

Ash could be very devious when he wanted to be.

Serena had just seen a tree and figured that they could use a rest. She went over to the shade and looked at the sky.

"So, Ash, what do you think will be your first capture?" She asked turning her head …

And realizing Ash wasn't there.

"Ash?" She looked around, but Ash was nowhere to be seen.

"ASH!?" Serena was getting worried. Did she accidentally outpace him? She hoped not. She wanted Ash to be with her on this journey. She then felt a weight on her feet as she looked down and saw Pikachu laying on her boots. She smiled at the cute scene before her.

"OK Pikachu, where did Ash go? Behind the tree?" Pikachu looked up at her, then got a devious smirk, then whirled around and covered her Pokeballs.

"Pikachu!? What are you doing!?" she was about to try and pull his tail off.

"Froakie, use Frubbles and bind her arms to the tree!" Something pinned her arms to either side of the tree, and now she couldn't move. She tried to pull herself free, but whatever it was that was holding her, pulled her arms back to the spot where they were on the tree. She then saw Ash walking towards her, with a strange smile on his face.

"ASH! WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!?" Ash said nothing, which worried her. Why was he doing this? He did nothing like this before today! Did something happen to him? Did some Psychic type hypnotize him?

Ash stalked closer and closer. Serena's heart began to speed up. Was she about to meet her end on her very first day? By the boy she had a crush on, no less? Ash then stopped. She was unable to move her feet or legs since Pikachu was still on them. He then leaned forward into her face. She then closed her eyes.

"WHOEVER YOU ARE STAY AWAY- "She got cut off when something crashed into her lips. She opened her eyes in shock when she saw Ash was kissing her! Ash, the dense boy who never noticed her hints, was giving her a kiss on her …

First day in Kanto? Wait. Why was she now recalling that she didn't meet him again until he came to Kalos? She had travelled with him. And he was about to ask her …

And why did she remember a final embrace after finding out someone named Lysandre was her father who was using the body of her real father X? and that her mother's name was not Grace but Y?

She then understood and melted into the kiss. Circumstances could have been better, but honestly, she was happy. Though she did feel a strange tingle going down to the Pokeballs that Pikachu was covering up.

She then felt Ash pull his lips away from hers. She hung there for a moment as she felt whatever was on her arms soften up and Pikachu got off her feet.

She then looked at Ash smiling at her. Not looking so evil now, just a bit cheeky. She smiled …

And let him have it.

Well part of the plan worked anyway.

He had explained to Pikachu that he wanted to remind Serena of the old timeline by giving her a kiss, to signify the new adventure he was about to have with her. Pikachu did seem hesitant to do something like this, but Ash said that he would take whatever punishment she did afterwards. She didn't remember the original timeline? He'll take it where it hurts the most. She got angry he dared to pull this joke? He would take whatever punishment she had in mind.

So, while it wasn't in a sweet spot, he still got the wind knocked out of him when she kicked him in the stomach after Pikachu got off her feet.

"Well, I was ready for punishment, but it's clear you remember since you're not screaming at me. Sorry, just thought I'd make it memorable for you." Serena, not moving an inch, stared at him.

"I would have still done that, if it weren't for the fact that this happened often in Kalos, I don't think I should be too surprised." Ash shrugged then felt it would be good to let Serena not have her arms restrained anymore.

"OK, Froakie! You can dissolve the Frubbles now!" Serena then looked at him strangely.

"Um, Ash. You did see what Pokémon came out, right?" Ash then tilted his head confused.

"No, but it was a Froakie that I received. He shouldn't have been that fast." Serena then tried looking behind the tree.

"Because I felt like my arms were being held back by a tongue, not Frubbles." Ash then looked behind the tree with her.

And found a cross armed Greninja staring at them.

"Greninja? That is, you, right buddy?" Greninja then did the pose the two of them make whenever the Bond Phenomenon occurred. It WAS his Greninja! How did he evolve? Wait, if he fully evolved, and Serena's other two starters were the ones from the original …

"Serena, take out Fennekin and Eevee's Pokeballs and release them." Serena then seemed to get the same realization and pulled out the pink- and cream-colored balls and threw them.

A Braixen and Sylveon came out of the balls, with Sylveon suddenly wrapping Pikachu up with her ribbons, pulling him towards her.

"They evolved too! Ash, how did this happen!?" Ash looked like he was brainstorming.

"Maybe when I gave them back their memories, it also gave them back the experience they had in the old timeline." Serena then looked back.

"Meaning they could fully go all the way, if you had them for a while, like you did with Greninja." Ash nodded then suddenly had a confused look.

"But if that were true," He then turned to look at Braixen, "Why did she only evolve to Braixen?" Serena looked at Ash confused. "Wasn't she a Delphox when the end of the world happened?"

Serena realized what he meant. Braixen had fully evolved into a Delphox, but here she was, the same form she was at the end of the Kalos Journey.

"Maybe the Pokémon can still stop their evolution at a phase that they want?" Ash thought about that.

"Or maybe it was because I missed your Contest in Hoenn. I did after all only see it when I became the Monarch. Or maybe she might have halted it since Greninja's back?" Serena and Greninja looked at him confused.

"Greninja had left the group by that point, and never saw her evolve. I don't know if it was like you and me, Serena, but they do seem to have their own special bond. So maybe she halted it so that Greninja could be with her this time." Serena, Braixen, and Greninja looked at each other, and shrugged. No point in dwelling on this right now.

"Anyway, yes. We are at the start of my journey. Arceus said that I could start any day I wanted. I chose the beginning of my journey. He also said that I could take one of my future companions with me, and that if I did, it would mean I get a secondary partner. Since I chose you, Greninja is obviously the choice." Serena then nodded.

"But why me? I mean, I'm a performer and Coordinator. I don't know anything about battling." Ash then suddenly put his arm around her waist, which caused her to look at him with a blush.

"It's not how I envisioned it, Serena, but I wanted to invite you on a journey through Kalos again. Just the two of us. This may have changed it, but I can no longer imagine traveling a region without you in it. So, I know we might be too young to technically call ourselves this yet." Serena then began to grow redder at what Ash was implying.

"Would you join me on an adventure, Serena? As my girlfriend?" Serena then began to cry. And kissed him straight on the lips. After 10 seconds, she pulled away.

"Of course, Ash." She then got a serious face.

"But what about my father? Isn't Lysandre still in control of his body?" Ash then got serious.

"Yes, but he hasn't fully gotten control yet. He literally only got complete control the day before my journey in Kalos. I'm sure Arceus would give us a heads up if he began to get ahead of schedule. And I plan on taking my journey with you as seriously as I can." Serena smiled then looked around.

"This is Route 1, right?" Ash smiled.

"Yes, let's start with getting you some more Pokémon. And see if I can't at least teach you something."

"Teach me to battle? I think that would be useful when we face against them."

"Yes, but also Aura." Ash knew that while Serena couldn't use Aura directly, Psychics were basically a mind version of Aura Users. He did sense Aura from Serena, but it was weaker compared to others.

Besides it might be a good way of throwing Lysandre off the trail.

"Indeed, now the first step is …"

Serena had gotten some of the basics down, how to sense, how to partially see. It was complicated and as Ash said …

"It's not something you learn overnight. It took me and Sir Aaron 5 days before I could make a tiny Aura sphere. It took 3 days just to see or sense it. We'll take our time with this. Me and Pikachu will be practicing with Greninja. If you want to join, I won't argue. However, there are some good starters Pokémon on Route 1 such as Pidgey and Rattata. It's up to you."

With that, Serena, Sylveon and Braixen went off a little way. She saw some Pidgey, but they didn't seem quite her style. She did catch a Rattata, and hoped she could help him with his teeth since one of his front teeth seemed to have a cavity. She was on her way back when she heard a pitiful Caw.

Looking over to her left, she saw a small red bird, and it looked like it was crying. Curious, she walked over to it. It saw her but did nothing but look at her pitifully.

"Is everything ok?" It just looked saddened and then made a motion, like that of a military captain.

"You were the leader of a flock?" The bird nodded then then made a kicking motion with his right foot, then pointed at himself.

"And you were kicked out of it?" Spearow then made a Motion like he was strong, then went limply down.

"Because you were beaten by someone stronger?" It nodded then made a motion of throwing something, then making a walking away motion.

"You were hoping to be caught by a trainer, but they ignored you because they thought you were weak?" It nodded grimly and then made a motion that Serena could tell that it was saying "Why bother with me?" and began to hop away.

"Hey, hold on!" The bird turned back to her. She crouched down and smiled at it.

"I'll catch you if you want." The bird looked up at her in shock. Didn't she want a powerful Pokémon, not the weakling chicken that he was?

"I'm not much of a battler. I don't know if I can ever become the battler my boyfriend is, but we both take in Pokémon that were deemed weak. I don't care if you're strong, all I care about is you being happy. Do you want to join us?" She set down a Pokeball and backed away. The bird looked at it, then with a happy caw, pushed the button and the ball dinged immediately. Serena smiled, knowing Ash would be happy.

Ash and his Pokémon had figured out that if he closed his eyes, then he could see the Aura of the world. He then saw a purple Aura down by the rivers. Thinking back, he realized that it was Misty. Since he did get caught by her fishing rod on Route 1. Well hopefully, they will have a better first meeting this time.

"Ok now, Pikachu. I'm trying to learn how to use the human equivalent of Bone Rush. It should help in close combat situations." Pikachu nodded and was ready to begin, when they saw Serena returning with two balls in her hands.

"So, what did you catch, beautiful?" Serena smiled at what he called her then released the Pokémon that was in the left ball.

"Rattata?" The purple mouse went as it then grabbed its tooth in pain. Ash knelt to its level.

"Youch. Tooth cavity. Common in Rattata. Either Nurse Joy heals it, or it breaks off and regrows. But there is a way to alleviate the pain." He then brought out a sandwich and put something in it and handed it to Rattata.

Rattata ate it, then suddenly no longer looked to be in pain. It looked at Ash confused.

"Pain Killer. It should last for the next 12 hours. Should be more than enough time to get to a Pokémon Center." Rattata smiled, then motioned for its Pokeball which Serena returned it.

"What's the other one?" Serena smiled and released it.

And Ash stared hard at the Spearow. Serena noticed he had gone quiet.

"Ash? Is everything OK?" Ash then walked up to the Spearow and crouched down to his level.

"I know this might sound strange, but years ago, I accidentally threw a rock at another Spearow. And I regretted it ever since. I don't want to make that mistake again. Ever since that day, I wanted to find him again and ask for forgiveness. I know you are not the same Spearow, but can I ask for forgiveness?" The Spearow stared at Ash confused. It didn't get why this was so important to him, but it must have been bad to where he felt the need to apologize. Well, he seemed kind enough, so he put his wing out in a handshake motion.

"Thank you, Spearow. I don't know if someone caught that other one, but I will start with you. My name is Ash Ketchum, and I want to be your friend." Spearow smiled and held out his wing.

Ash smiled. He reached out to grab it and closed his eyes. He was not going to forgive himself for hurting that Spearow that evolved into a Fearow. He hurt an innocent Pokémon that day and he vowed to find it and …

Wait, this Spearow has a purple …

CRAP.

Ash tried to jerk his hand away, but he had already touched it and was now holding a big wing.

With a VERY angry Fearow glaring right at him.

Dead center in the eyes.

Serena had backed away in fear, Braixen and Sylveon doing the same.

Greninja had no clue what just happened, but it was clear that there had been history between these two and got a Water Shuriken ready.

Pikachu immediately got a charge going. This Fearow very nearly killed Ash. It bullied some Pidgey and Pidgeotto that lived here all because Ash threw a rock at it, thinking it was a Pidgey.

It was not going to let him take Ash.

Ash stared up at it. Arceus, you have a twisted sense of humor sometimes.

The Spearow that Serena caught just HAD to be the one he threw the rock at.

Very funny. Maybe you might have ended the world again.

He then noticed that Fearow was just staring at him, not budging an inch. He then had a realization.

He held up one finger that Fearow saw, then moved his hand to Greninja and motioned him to put away the Shuriken. He then motioned to Pikachu to not be obvious with the charging.

"I take it you remember me now?"

"Fearoooww."

"I take it you know what day it is?"

"Feeaaarrroooowwwwww."

"Do you remember what I said to you before you evolved?"

It nodded.

"OK. Do you remember where you got caught by Serena?" Fearow looked away from Ash and then Motioned with its head.

Not letting go of its wing, it led Ash to the spot. Ash recognized it.

"Yup this is where we first met. Now I think I was over there?" He said point to the tree he and Serena were just at.

Fearow shook its head and the used its beak to point to another tree. Ash then recognized it as the tree he stood under when he started his journey last time.

"Ok, Serena. Can you go find a rock that looks like a rounded marble stone?" Serena walked over and found said stone.

"OK. Fearow," Said bird looked at him menacingly, "I want you to go over there and take the stone from Serena. No hurting her please." The bird quirked an eyebrow but did so.

When it did, it took the stone from Serena in its beak and turned around to take it back to Ash.

"No, no, Fearow. Are you seriously going to pass up this chance?" Fearow looked at him confused, then realized he was in the same area that Ash had stood in last time. It then smirked and threw the rock, nailing Ash in the head. It closed its eyes and was about to walk back over to him.

When Ash threw the rock back to Serena.

"I threw the rock hard enough to give you a bump on the head. As you can see," He took his hat off to emphasize, "I don't have anything. I'm sure you don't want me to have a lesser punishment."

Fearow made a smacking motion with his wings, wondering why he did that. He threw it weaker than Ash did. He took the stone back from Serena and began to spin around.

This time when it connected, a bump grew large enough on Ash's head to partly raise his hat off his head.

"There ya go, Fearow. Do ya think we're even now?" Fearow then walked right over to him, then towered over him. Pikachu still had his charge ready, when Fearow did something no one expected.

He smiled and then patted Ash on the head.

Ash breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sorry, that was stupid of me back then, but the world needs help now." Fearow nodded his head, while he was no longer the leader of the Spearow flock, it might be good. He had a nice trainer, and the boy who threw the rock clearly wanted to make amends.

Why not just start over? Then he remembered what Serena said and then looked at Ash.

Well, he might have to meet that Pidgeot again, but she was very powerful. Maybe he could learn a thing or two from her.

Plus, the Performer stuff could help him in an area all Fearow suffer from, which was partly what got him beat by Pidgeot in the original timeline.

Fearow's were much bigger and as such, their bodies were not as flexible as other flying types. They could be outmaneuvered. Maybe he could learn something from them.

He sure right now was the most powerful one on her team.

Pikachu sighed with relief; glad they wouldn't have to outrun a flock of Spearow again. He then released his energy, letting it arc off in a random direction.

"OK now. There is someone else I want to remind here; she should be near – "He was cut off when he heard a scream and a crash sound. He paled and then turned to Pikachu, who also looked mortified.

"We lost track of where Misty was, didn't we?" Pikachu nodded.

"Well, we need to figure out why your electricity likes going for bikes, I don't want to keep getting a bike tab every time we go to a new region." Fearow was laughing his feathered butt off, while Greninja sweat dropped, his bond with Ash allowing him to see what he meant. Serena giggled at her new boyfriend's expense. Braixen and Sylveon just shook their heads, though Sylveon did go over to Pikachu and kissed his cheek.

Some things never change no matter how much you want the reset to make sure it doesn't.
