The Abnormal-Normal Bus Ride

Freddy experiences a ride on the school bus for the first time and mentions the school's divided population.

Fred Barry = Fredbear

Teddy = Toy Freddy

Gordon = Golden Freddy

Freddy's P.O.V.

"Hi, I'm Freddy Bearns or Fazbear as some know me and…oh, OK then, I'll start talking. Sorry, ma'am"

When the bus for Salado Blue Elementary School arrived, me, Fred Barry, Gordon and Teddy all got on and sat down; standard bus procedure. We all sat down next to our best friends and talked to each other. My friend Bonnie was next to me and my friend Chica was sitting behind us

"Their names…? Um, OK then. Fred Barry sat with Seán, Teddy sat with Toby and Gordon sat with Peter."

"Hey Bonnie. Hey Chica." I greeted. "What's up, Doc?" Bonnie replied casually. He loves Bugs Bunny and has been using his catchphrase a lot recently. "Nothing much." I replied. "What's up you two?" Chica asked, turning around so she could see us through the gap between the wall and seat. "Nothing really." I answered. I was kind of bored during the ride so I looked around and noticed that the bus was sort of split in two. One half looked really normal while the other was abnormal.

"Well, by "looked normal" I mean that they looked like everyone at school would, and by "abnormal" I mean it looked like a cartoon had spilled out. A lot of people were wearing costumes and stuff."

The abnormal side were easy to identify, they were the Animatronics, one of the factions at school. The normal side were the Nightguards. The Nightguards looked kind of funny honestly, all wearing regular clothing and regular hairstyles. There's nothing crazy about it; it was weird.

"...I thought it was funny… Oh, no, I don't really know a lot about the factions…you'd have to ask someone like Evan or Jason…they're older and know more about it."

After my little observation, I noticed that we had stopped a few feet away from the Fox's House. I waved to Fionn and his sister Fianna and they waved back; their older brothers Jason and Evan noticed and waved back too. When the doors opened and they were about to get on, the bus driver drove forward about five feet. This continued all the way to the next stop, for some reason, until the driver let them get on. "Thanks for the ride, sir. Walking all that way in the hot sun was amazing." Jason said sarcastically.

"He's so funny! Heh…uh…oh…OK then. No, sorry, I don't know what happened to the driver but I bet he was fired. You can't drive with a door open. It's illegal! Sorry, ma'am…"

The bus driver glared at him as they all got on with four other kids behind them. The first three were B.B., J.J. and D.D. They're all really cool and friendly! And the last one was Marionette. She's really nice!

"No, I didn't talk to them, they kinda stuck together and didn't say anything. But Marionette talked to Jason a lot. No, it wasn't on the bus, they only started talking once they got to school."

A few more stops later, we arrived at the school, and it was so awesome. The elementary school building was right in front of us, the middle school was down the road and the high school a few blocks over. There was a large tree near the left of the building and it was covered with bright blue ribbons.

"I'm not sure why the middle schoolers took our bus. I didn't ask."

As we all got off the bus, I noticed that Fred had run ahead to the entrance of the school building while a Nightguard followed him. Students split up and joined their respective side. I joined the Animatronics side with my friends as we walked up to the building entrance because I had no idea what was happening and decided to follow the crowd. With all that craziness, I thought I'd love it there especially since this was the year I'd get inducted into the Animatronic faction, but then…well…y'know, …that…happened, and a lot of bad things came from it.

"We're finished? OK then, I'll go get Jason. Goodbye, ma'am."

Author's Note

Decided to rework some bits of dialog as well as the writing. I'm still unhappy with the way the shorts are but it's a lot more tolerable at least. I tried to fix it so it reads as what it is (which is a plot point revealed later) and make sure the language reads more like a 7-year-old child. All in all, this is an OK short.
