Third Person POV
In the monitoring room, the rest of the class were wondering how this match was going to go down.
"Who do you think is going to win this one?" Selvaria asked.
"Hmm, this one's actually a tough one." Akio said. "Yaoyorozu is actually very intelligent from her observation on the first match and from yesterday. Not to mention her quirk. You'd have to be real smart to understand how it works." He stated. "Then there's Ryoichi. Sure, he is battle intelligent, but knowing him personally, he's also a bit intelligent in general. Plus, they've known each other for years so…"
"So you think it'll end up in a tie?"
Akio thought for a moment and saw both teams were planning each of their strategies.
"Maybe. We'll just have to wait and see for the results."
"FINAL MATCH, BEGIN!" All Might announced.
Both the hero and villain team were already getting to work on their parts. With the heroes, Ryoichi went inside the building while Josuke used his quirk to lift himself up.
"Hey, what's Harukita doing? Wouldn't it be better if they both go together?"
"Not exactly." Selvaria piped in. "What they're doing for now is splitting up."
"Correct! In a real situation, you're practically on a short schedule, so it is best if you and your partner try to find the weapon quickly before time runs out." All Might informed them. "On the other hand, there might be traps on the way in, so one of them going to check is a good choice."
With the hero team, Josuke was checking the floors to locate the bomb. He felt himself slip a bit as he felt his head start to pulse a bit.
"Shoot. I knew I should've added a second earpiece to my costume. Gotta move quick!" He thought and searched more faster.
Josuke looked through each floor until he found the villain team with the bomb on the top floor.
"There! Huh, well what do you know? Kinda like a final boss with it being on the top floor."
Josuke went back down, before he could be spotted, and searched around for Ryoichi. He found him when he was looking around a corner for something.
"Josuke? You found the bomb?" Ryoichi asked.
"Yeah, I found the bomb all the way on the top floor."
"Figured. But we got some trouble ahead of us."
Josuke looked confused until he looked where Ryoichi was looking and saw the hallway being covered with purple balls everywhere.
"Mineta?"
"Mineta. They must've got their headstart while we were planning."
"So… how do we get through that?" Josuke asked him.
Ryoichi thought about what their next move was. "If we even touch one of those, it would probably count as a capture, since Mineta can just bounce off these, but we'd just get stuck."
"Do we just take another route or try and go through this?"
"If we do, then that'll waste time, and by the time we get there, the timer will probably go out. So maybe another route would do…" Ryoichi looked around for a different route to take. As he was searching, he found an alternate route to take once he saw a window. "Hey, you said they were on the top floor right?"
"Yeah, why?" Josuke questioned.
"I know how to get up there now." Ryoichi said and explained what they were going to do.
With the villain team, Momo and Mineta were preparing themselves for the hero team… Well, at least one of them was.
"We're against Harukita and Akatani, right? I mean, Harukita we can probably handle easily… but that Akatani…" Mineta said while getting a bit scared about Ryoichi. "It's only the second day and you can tell he's leagues above everyone else! Not only is his quirk strong, he's strong himself! That guy's practically a brute-"
Mineta was silenced when he felt Momo was giving a very strong glare at him. He slowly looked up to see she was really angry.
"Ryoichi is NOT a brute." Momo said with her voice being calm but had some anger.
"R-right. Noted."
Momo removed her glare and regained her focus. "We'll have to be on our guard for them still. That hallway trap may slow them down, but Ryoichi is smart, so he might think of something."
While they were waiting, you can't actually see it, but Momo was actually hesitant with this. Sure, it's just training, but she's afraid of going too far, like Ryoichi was thinking earlier.
"Just calm down, Momo. This is just training, so don't try and take this too seriously on him." Momo thought to herself, trying to calm down. "We don't have to fight. If I can try and make something now to capture them, then we can win this easily. But if push comes to shove…" Momo got more nervous at the thought, but shook it away.
Just as she was about to make something, she stopped for some reason.
"Yaoyorozu?" Mineta asked for her.
Momo shushed him and tried to listen for something. It was all quiet until a faint sound could be heard. It was a thwipping sound that could be heard, and it was getting closer. That's when Momo realized…
"Mineta, get back!" Momo shouted as she pulled him by his cape when one of the windows nearby blew up.
"What was that?!" Mineta shouted.
From smoke, they could barely see through it, but two figures could be made from behind it. The smoke died down and it became more clear on who made their surprise entrance.
"I should've guessed. Of course heroes like you would make some dirty moves on us. Always ruining things." Momo said, trying to take on her villain role.
"Well, I aim to please." The figure revealed to be Ryoichi as he looked battle ready.
"No way! How'd you get here so quickly?!" Shouted Mineta.
"Well, we just- " Josuke went to explain before getting interrupted.
"They climbed the side of the building to try and get the jump on us. It was clever, but not good enough."
"Hm, nice observation. You really are the analyzing type, but things end here." Ryoichi said as he readied himself for a fight. "Now, have two options, come quietly with us, or face the consequences."
"I'm afraid I'll have to decline your offer." Momo said as she pulled a staff out from her hand. "We won't be giving up that easily."
"Uh… I think your partner is already doing that." Josuke said as he pointed at Mineta.
Momo was confused until she was baffled by Mineta, who was shaking like crazy. "Oh you have got to be kidding me…" She thought as she mentally face palmed herself and remained focused.
"If that's how it is, then I guess I have no choice. Don't say I didn't warn you." Ryoichi said as he was about to throw the first attack. That was until a round ball was about to hit his face before he moved his head to the side.
"Huh?"
"I… I won't let either win against us! You may be strong and all that, but I still have my Pop Off!" Mineta said as he gained some courage while still shaking. "Now, take this, scumbags!" Mineta started throwing his… hair balls… at the hero team.
They easily dodged them, but seeing how much he was throwing, at some point they were about to slip and get themselves stuck. Suddenly, the barrage suddenly stopped. The balls were floating in the air for a moment and was flicked to a wall. It turned out to be Josuke's doing as he used his quirk to stop Mineta's barrage attack.
"H-huh..?"
"You almost had us there for a bit, but I think things end here now." Ryoichi said. "Josuke, you get Mineta. I'll handle Yaoyorozu."
"Got it!"
"Gah! Run!" Mineta said as he sprinted out of the room.
"You're the only one running pal. I can fly!" Josuke said and gave chase by using his quirk to make himself float.
As their teammates left with a chase, Ryoichi and Momo were left in the room with each other as Momo was left with guarding the bomb.
"So… just you and me huh?" Asked Ryoichi.
"I suppose so. I never thought I would go against you of all people."
"Yeah, same here. Also, you're not hurt are you? From the explosion earlier."
"Oh, I'm fine, but now's not the time for that." Momo said and pointed her staff at him. "One of us will come out as the winner."
"You're right about that." Ryoichi said and got into a fighting pose. "And I'd like to see you try and win this."
The two had a small stare down before they charged right at each other. They clashed against each other as Momo swung with her staff and Ryoichi with his fists. Whenever Momo had her opening and swung in, Ryoichi managed to block her off as he tried to do the same back and she would defend herself as well.
Back in the monitoring room, the class were looking amazed watching the match. The tension would rise from them when one of the two opponents would have the upperhand against one another.
"Wow, they're actually going toe to toe with each other. I thought Ryoichi would end it by now." Alicia said.
"Same, but I think I know why." Akio said. "They've known each other for a while right? So what if Yaoyorozu has something planned?"
"I think you're right." Selvaria agreed with him. "Yaoyorozu is intelligent, so she probably has something she can use against Ryoichi, and I think it's starting to show."
Selvaria was right, whatever Momo's plan was, it was starting to be more clear. She was fighting Ryoichi to keep his focus off the bomb and have it on her. Just as the fight went on, it came to a brief stop when Ryoichi caught Momo's staff.
"You're not bad as a fighter. But I know what you're trying to do with this dirty trick of yours." Ryoichi said, catching her off guard. He then gripped onto the staff and tossed Momo to the side, moving her out of his way. "Having me fight you until time runs out? Smart, but it still wasn't enough."
Ryoichi rushed towards the bomb to try and capture it. He was close to touching it, but that was when his arm was being pulled back by something. He looked at his arm and noticed some sort of net caught his arm. Before he could react, he was yanked away from the bomb and was no back to facing Momo.
"I won't let you beat us that easily. I took something important of yours while you were too busy fighting me." Momo said and showed she took one of Ryoichi's web shooters.
"That was a sneaky move you pulled. I'm impressed. But being down one web shooter really means nothing to me." Ryoichi stated as he charged.
Momo barely had time to react and quickly made a shield as she blocked his punch with it. She was then sent back a bit as she slid across the ground. She was perplexed by the force of the punch and noticed his punches were more rough than before.
"His punches… they're starting to be more rough. Is he starting to use his quirk?" She was thinking before getting back into the fight.
"Just give up already. We both know who's the real winner here, so why still go out of your way to try and win this?"
"I didn't come all this way just to lose to a… brute… like you..." Momo said with some hesitation. "So I won't let you defeat me and ruin our plan."
"If that's the case, then I'll have to stop holding my punches then."
As the fight went on Ryoichi went in for what seemed like another punch. Momo used her shield to block it, but that's what he wanted.
Ryoichi threw his fist out and used his other web shooter instead as he shot a web out of it and it got attached too to Momo's shield. He pulled and took away her shield, throwing her off balance as a distraction and used the opportunity to capture the bomb.
As he was running, he suddenly came to a stop when his foot got stuck. He looked down and noticed his foot got stuck in some webbing. He looked back up and saw Momo was about to strike him down and quickly backed away, easily getting out of her trap and he kicked her staff out of her hands. With her distracted, Ryoichi used his web shooter to web up the one Momo stole from him.
"Can't stop me now!" Ryoichi declared and rushed at the bomb again.
He was stopped again when Momo grabbed and was holding him back.
"I won't let you beat us!"
Ryoichi tried to have her let go, but he couldn't move as he grew surprised by her grip. Time was running out for them and he needed to think of something. Ryoichi came up with an idea and decided to use his quirk. Just as Momo was holding him still, she noticed his arm was feeling hotter, and retracted her hand once she saw flames appear.
"Hey, watch it! I know this is just training, but I think you're starting to take this too seriously!" Momo shouted as she pouted at him.
"Oh, sorry- Wait, you're the villain in this scenario! Why am-" Ryoichi pointed out before he was cut off when a matryoshka doll was thrown right at him. He looked confused at it before the top fell off and it revealed to be a flash grenade.
Ryoichi panicked before he threw it away and it went off. Unfortunately he had no time to shield his eyes, so he got blinded a second too late. His body felt all wobbly and there was ringing in his ears. He composed himself as he knelt down to the ground and felt his surroundings.
"What's he doing now?"
"I'm not sure honestly. He's good with fighting, but this is…"
"He's feeling for vibrations."
The class then looked at who said that as most eyes were upon Jiro now. She noticed this and felt flustered and embarrassed that she said anything.
"W-well, his other senses are out from that flash so… he probably has to rely on feeling out for vibrations through touch." Jiro theorized.
The room was silent for a moment, other than some mutters, before All Might spoke up. "Nice observation! We normally have 5 senses, so when one is out, we can use whatever we have left! And you could say he's taking off of you with your quirk, young Jiro."
Jiro got flustered when some of her classmates complimented her on her observation and went back to watching the match.
With Ryoichi, he stayed where he was and was feeling out for Momo's movements. His hearing was coming back, but he could only hear muffled sounds.
"I can't see where she is, so I gotta feel her vibrations. Otherwise, she'll try and tie me up and capture me." He thought while being focused on the situation.
Ryoichi continued to feel her movements until he felt something was off. He got on the defense and waited for what was next. He could feel some small thumps from the ground, and they were getting closer to him. He then felt something move swiftly through the air and guessed it was some type of weapon. All of a sudden, his mind was going off like crazy and he could hear some type of ringing. As if something told him to look out, he moved out the way and felt a thud.
"Wha- How did you..?" He could hear Momo's voice more clearly and everything was clearing up for him.
Ryoichi opened his eyes and saw that Momo had tried to knock him out with her staff. He blasted it out of her hands and stood back up as he fixed himself.
"How did you even know I was going to hit you?" Momo asked, being perplexed.
"I… I don't know." He answered honestly. "How did that happen? My hearing was clearing up, but I still had some ringing. So what… I'll figure it out later." He regained his focus on the match and went in for another strike. "Sorry about this Momo." Ryoichi thought as he was going to neck chop her.
Momo saw this and was in a panic. The fight tired her out from dodging and strikes. She could try to make something, but Ryoichi was coming at her quickly, and weapons were nowhere near her. She had no choice but to try to take it head on. As Ryoichi went in for the blow, he tried to hold back his strength so she wouldn't be knocked for too long, but just as he was about to neck chop her, he became shocked at what happened.
Momo blocked his hand with hers! Although she looked like she winced from that hit.
As Ryoichi was too stunned from this, Momo used this chance against him as she gripped onto his arm and put it over her shoulder.
"I might've not been able to win in a one on one fight against you back then. But I'll have to thank you for letting me train with you!" Momo then with all her might, she flipped Ryoichi over her shoulder and slammed him to the ground. She then pinned both of his arms down to hold him down.
"Clever girl…" Ryoichi said to himself.
He was about to use his web shooter but nothing came out. Momo felt him trying to budge free and put more pressure onto him to keep him there for a bit longer.
"Still resisting? Fine then, you asked for it!"
Ryoichi was starting to budge free from her grasp as he was using his quirk to strengthen himself. Momo nearly lost her grip for a bit but remained strong to hold him still.
"Come on! Just a bit longer and we'll-!" Momo was thinking before…
"TIMES UP!"
.
.
.
"Eh?" The two said together.
"Wait, hold on, it's been 15 minutes?" Asked Ryoichi.
"I… I think so?" Momo was confused as well. "But, who won?"
"The hero team of course." All Might suddenly said, getting their attention. "Time may have run out, but just in the nick of time, the hero team wins."
Both Ryoichi and Momo grew more confused.
"Okay… How exactly?" Ryoichi questioned.
"Why, that's simple!" All Might stepped aside as someone came from behind him.
That person was Josuke as he was panting and was holding Mineta up, who was wrapped around in the capture tape.
"Phew! This guy's a slippery one. He led me right back to that hallway of balls."
"And I would've gotten away if you didn't just have to fly!" Mineta shouted.
"But, if the timer went out, the villain team would win, so how did the hero team win against us?" Momo questioned.
"You see, young Yaoyorozu, take a look at Akatani." Said All Might.
Momo looked around Ryoichi for something, but didn't see anything. That's was until she saw his arm as it extended and was touching the bomb.
"While you too were rough housing, young Akatani managed to touch the bomb, and secure the objective. And with that, the hero team wins the final match!" All Might declared, with a dramatic pose.
"But… didn't time run out already?" Asked Ryoichi. "By the time I touched the bomb, the timer went out, so wouldn't the villain team win?"
All Might was about to answer but thought more on the question. "Hmm… When it's put like that… I suppose I can call this match… A DRAW!"
Both groups of students look at All Might with a mix of shock and confusion.
"A draw?!"
"Yes, a draw! It was hard to decide what was given, so we'll call it a tie for today. Now, come along students, training for today is over!" All Might instructed them.
The last group dusted themselves off as they met with the rest of the class.
"That's a wrap! Super work. You really stepped up to the plate. And, we didn't have any major injuries, except for Midoriya. Anyways, you should be proud. Excellent first day of training, all around!"
"It's nice to hear some encouraging words after our homeroom class. Mr. Aizawa was kind of a buzzkill."
Everyone nodded as Tsuyu was right.
"I'm happy to bring such staggering positivity to my Alma mater! That's all for now, folks. I should go and check on Young Midoriya's process. Now, watch how a pro exits. Like he's got somewhere to be!" All Might then took off at an alarming speed as a gust of wind was left behind them.
"Ok, you guys, that is a hero!"
Everyone changed back into their uniforms and went on with their day. It was late afternoon now as people was either going home or just chatting with other people. However…
"Ow ow ow! That hurts!" Ryoichi cried out.
"If you hold still, then it shouldn't hurt. Now hold still and let me comb it!" Momo told him.
Yeah, these two were having a hard time with Momo trying to comb out Ryoichi's hair, and being noisy at it.
Momo tried her best to comb his hair until…
SNAP!
Momo just looked in disbelief as the comb just snapped into two.
"What happened? Did something break?" Ryoichi asked, being clueless at what happened.
"Umm… nothing! Let's just go meet your sister, okay?" Momo suggested, trying to move on from the subject.
"Alright… If you say so." Ryoichi said and walked with her.
They walked to Kari's classroom and waited for her to come out. As they were waiting, Momo noticed that Ryoichi was tying his hair into a ponytail again.
"So, I can't comb your hair, but a ponytail is fine?" Momo slightly pouted.
"I find this more better than what we were trying to do. My sister and I had trouble with this yesterday anyways. Besides, you're one to talk with your hair. I know you have some trouble with it in the morning." Ryoichi retorted at her with a smirk.
"Very funny, Ryoichi." Momo said with a small chuckle. "Though, I gotta know a couple of things. If you don't mind, of course."
"I don't mind, ask away."
"Well, first of all, I noticed your web shooters weren't working exactly. Did we do something wrong?"
"That? Now that you bring it up, I thought the same thing. But it turns out my flames accidentally melted them together when I used them during the training."
"Oh, I see. And back during training, when you got blinded, I was about to knock you out but you somehow got out of the way when you were stunned. How did you do that?" Momo asked him.
Ryoichi remembered when that happened. He couldn't see or hear at the moment, yet he knew where she was about to strike. "Honestly, I have no clue either. It just… happened. It felt like my body did it's own thing and moved." Ryoichi answered honestly. "But, there was some ringing in my head, and I guess when you were close to hitting me, the ringing was more intense."
"Really? Are you sure it isn't something your mother taught you?"
"Not that I recall. I mean sure, there's still more about my quirk I have to learn, but with fighting? She practically taught me everything."
"Well, I suggest you still tell her about it. I just hope it's nothing too bad." Momo said as she held Ryoichi's hand with a small blush on her face. "You're… really important to me, so I just hope nothing bad happens to you… again."
Ryoichi saw the worried look Momo was giving off and felt some sympathy for her. "Momo, I'm sure it's probably nothing. But, I appreciate you still staying by me. And you're important to me too, and I'll still protect you like I always did."
Momo's heart was beating fast and her cheeks became more pink. Her grip on Ryoichi's hand was a bit tight but still loose. She couldn't help but form a warm smile from his kind words as she blushed a little more.
"Thank you, Ryoichi. I'm happy to be a part of your life. Truly, I am." Momo said kindly.
It was Ryoichi's turn to blush as her words made his heart go fast. He also felt a certain feeling, and couldn't help but feel more comfortable around her.
"Y-yeah, no problem. I'm… happy too." Ryoichi stuttered.
Momo noticed this and wondered if he was okay. "Is everything alright? Your face seems a bit red."
"Yeah, I'm fine! Just still tired from that match… hehe." Ryoichi tried to laugh it off so Momo wouldn't get more suspicious of him.
Before Momo could ask any further, a voice called out their names.
"Akatani, Yaoyorozu!"
They both turned their attention as they saw Jiro walk up to them.
"Jiro?" Momo wondered.
Jiro made it as she looked like she was about to say something. "Listen, about yesterday, I just wanna say… I'm sorry." Jiro apologized to Momo. "I didn't mean to get in a fight with you. I had no idea you two were that close with each other, and I was being so defensive because I was looking out for Ryoichi. He's been my only friend I knew for the past few months, and he's been looking out for me, and I thought I-" Jiro was explaining before Momo stopped.
"Jiro, I should be the one apologizing. I jumped to conclusions and thought you were…" Momo was explaining but didn't want to make things worse. "Look, I just hope we can make up with each other. I may be Ryoichi's best friend, but I shouldn't have gotten selfish in between your relationship with him. So, I'm deeply sorry for what I did yesterday." Momo apologized to Jiro.
It was silent between them before Jiro spoke up as she held her hand out to Momo. "I guess… apology accepted." She said being a bit flustered. "If you want, maybe we can hangout sometime to get to know each other better?"
Momo was surprised by her offer and got jumpy and giddy as she shook her hand, surprising the earjack user. "Oh, that would be amazing! I hope we can start things over with each other and do things properly, Jiro."
"Yeah, same here, Yaoyorozu."
As they fixed things up between each other, they suddenly felt some arms around them and were brought into a hug by Ryoichi.
"Glad you two were able to make up with each other. Though, I'm still confused on why hugs were the main argument." He said still confused about yesterday.
The two only blushed as their faces became a shade of red.
"Why are you even bringing this up?!" Jiro shouted.
"Well technically you two brought it up so…"
Jiro only became more red than before and pulled herself out of the hug. "You're such an idiot for that."
"What? Am I wrong? That's how it happened, right Momo?"
"W-well, you're not wrong." Momo agreed with her face being still red.
"See? Still proves my point."
Jiro only groaned and faced away from him while crossing her arms. Although, she did mutter something. "But… you're still pretty cool."
Ryoichi heard her small words and his cheeks flushed pink. That same feeling came back to him, and his heart was beating again.
"O-oh, well I uh…" Ryoichi tried to form his words but couldn't. He then noticed his sister and came up with an excuse. "Hey, there's Kari! I-I guess I'll see you both tomorrow, right?"
"Oh, okay, I suppose." Momo said, being surprised by Ryoichi's outburst. "My ride should be here soon, do you want me to take you home instead?"
Ryoichi's cheeks became more pink at the thought. "Um… No, it's fine. The two of us can just walk home."
"Are you sure? It's kind of a long walk to your place."
"Yeah, I'm sure! I should actually get going see you bye!" Ryoichi as he ran off to catch up with his sister, leaving his two… "friends" in disbelief.
"That guy is something else…" Jiro said.
"He really is…" Momo agreed with her.
Back with Ryoichi, him and his sister were walking home as Kari was explaining how her day went.
"My class isn't actually so bad. Some of my classmates are actually interesting. Like one of them can split their body parts up, and a guy can copy other people's quirks. Though, he seems to have some sort of grudge against your class, so I say to watch for him. What's your classmates like, Ryoichi?" Kari asked him, until she noticed he was staring off into space. "Hey, Ryoichi?" She tapped him a couple of times until he brought out his thoughts.
"Huh? You said something?" He asked.
"I was asking about your classmates. Are you okay?" Kari asks about him."
"O-oh, I'm totally fine, yeah! And my classmates? Um…" Ryoichi thought about what his classmates were like, but was so lost in his thoughts, he apparently doesn't remember a lot other than the people he knows. "Uh… they're really… interesting like yours… y-yeah!" He answered her with a small chuckle as he tried to move on.
Kari looked at him and wasn't buying any of it. She noticed that he was looking anxious and saw how uneasy he looked. "Okay, clearly you're not okay. So be honest, what's on your mind."
Ryoichi was about to try and ignore the subject, but knowing his own twin sister, she wasn't going to give up that easily. He sighed and explained what was going on. "I… I honestly don't know what's wrong with me."
"So there is something wrong. Does it have to do with you not sleeping well?" Kari said she mentioned his eyes looking tired like.
"Well… maybe?"
"Maybe?"
"I don't know. I've just been having odd feelings lately. Like no matter how many times I ignore it, it always come back"
"Odd feelings…" Kari thought on his words for a moment to think what he meant. She figured it out as her eyes became wide. "Oh dear brother… I know what's going on with you." She said in a playful tone.
"You do?" Ryoichi wondered.
"Oh, yeah. You, my twin brother, are in love!"
They stopped walking when Ryoichi stood frozen by her words. He slowly looked at his sister with some type of shock in his eyes.
"H-huh..?" Was all he muttered out.
"I said you're in L-O-V-E! And I'm so happy for you! We gotta tell mom!" Kari said with excitement as she was shaking Ryoichi.
"K-Kari you're shaking me too rough again! Stop it!"
"Oh, sorry." Kari then let him go to recompose himself.
"L-look, I don't know what you're on about, but I'm not in love."
"Are you sure? We all say that then boom! Life hits us with the truth."
"Well I say it's a lie. And no, it's not Momo, because you always do that to me when she is around."
"Okay, okay, you got me…" Kari said until she had some sinister grin and leaned close to Ryoichi. "…But who said it was her?"
Ryoichi paused for a moment and he realized what he said as his face turned red.
"So, does my brother have a little crush on-"
"No, no! It's not like that! We're just friends!"
"Oh on the contrary, Ryoichi." Kari said, trying to sound intelligent. "You have feelings for your childhood best friend, Momo Yaoyorozu. Am I correct?"
"Oh don't you go and start trying to sound smart."
"Aha! Denial! You practically admitted your love for her!" Kari stated as she got close to him.
Ryoichi groaned in annoyance and pushed her off of him. "W-well, so what if I do. Even if I did have a crush, she probably wouldn't even like me back."
"Oh, don't say that. Momo would definitely love you back." Kari said as she tried to make things better for him.
"As if. She'd probably be into guys that are like her. Wealthy, formal, and intelligent. I'm not even anywhere near being like that." Ryoichi said as he sounded upset.
"Ryoichi-"
"Kari, don't. Just… don't try and push this alright. Let's just go home." Ryoichi moved on from the subject as he started walking again.
Kari was a bit stunned before she snapped herself and walked up to him. When she caught up, she noticed his face looked a bit gloomy. She started to feel really bad about pushing the whole love subject. She did this before when they were kids, but only as a joke, and this time Ryoichi looked upset about it.
"Ryoichi, I'm sorry for pushing that on you. I was just trying to lighten the mood. I know I did it before, but I was just messing with you guys. I didn't mean to make you upset and-"
"No, it's fine. I should be sorry for lashing out. You were just joking like always, and it's what siblings do, right?" Ryoichi said with a small smile.
"Yeah, it's what we do. But if you… really need some help with your feelings, you can talk to me about it, okay?" Kari told him.
Ryoichi nodded in agreement. "And you could come to me when it's your feelings." He said jokingly.
Kari gave him a deadpan look as she looked unamused at his comeback. "Very funny, Ryoichi…"
"Hehe, you had it coming. Plus… I may need help with my web shooters. They ended up being clogged when I used my quirk." Ryoichi said as he rubbed his nape.
"Hm, I guess you're lucky we both ended up being smart."
"I guess… but I think I'm the smarter one."
"Hey!" Kari pouted as she punched his arm.
"Okay, I'm joking. I'm your twin so I got jokes too." Ryoichi said with a chuckle.
"Oh whatever. Now let's get home and fix your science project you and your princess did before I change my mind." Kari retorted in a teasing way, making Ryoichi blush.
"Don't push it…" Ryoichi told her as they continued their walk home.
Although, with Ryoichi, his feelings with Momo crossed his mind and he felt a more festering feeling for her. As if there was a dormant flame that lit up again inside him, and it would only grow more whenever he's near her or even gets a small glance at her. But, that wasn't it exactly. It was like another flame was in him as this one seemed more recent and was growing over time and the two flames have been fighting each other for a while now.
Whatever the case, it seems like Ryoichi will put these feelings of his aside for now and have to encounter these flames, and decide which one he will set his heart ablaze with.
