Yui POV

It was quiet around the house, oddly too quiet. Maize and Lizanna had work today, and Ryoichi and Kari were still out of school. They're still home, yet I haven't heard a single scream or anything break.

"Hmm… I should check on them."

I went to check to see if everything was alright with the two. I saw that Ryoichi's door was open and peeked in and I saw they were drawing in notebooks. The floor was covered with either torn-out pages or balled-up papers.

"Hey, you two. I see that you've been busy with…" I said and picked up one of the papers to see it was a costume sketch. "Costumes?"

"Oh, we've been thinking about costume redesigns." Ryoichi answered. "I do like the costume you made for me, I just thought if it needed some changes to where I'm flexible with it."

Kari suddenly gasped. "Are you saying mom's a bad costume designer?"

"No, I'm not! I like what I got now, I just think… well…" Ryoichi tried to explain but was fumbling with his words.

Kari continued to bother with him while he retorted back at her. I just chuckled

"There's the noise." I thought to myself and helped clean up their mess. "It's okay to think about costume redesigns. Every hero at some point has thought about it before, even I did with my first costume."

"Really?" They both asked.

"Yeah. It worked well for my fighting style, but it didn't look the best back then." I sweat dropped remembering my first costume entering UA. "It's fine for you to redesign your costume. It's not like you're hurting my feelings."

"I guess… But coming up with a redesign is so hard!" Ryoichi shouted in frustration.

"Not hard for me. I don't need a redesign!" Kari said proudly, though I could tell that she wants one as well.

"Well, if you're stuck with designing, use some references to get yourself started." I suggested to them. "And while you're at it, clean up this mess. Especially you, Kari."

"Huh?! But this is his room! Why do I have to clean up?!" She tried to argue back but I just glared at her and she sat back down right away. "On second thought, I'll help."

I smiled before I left them to their costume redesigns. I'm fine with them figuring out the hero basics on their own, although I do wish I could help out in some way. I want to see them become the heroes they aim to be when they get older.

Just then, I was getting a phone call and I saw it was from the school. I answered to see who it was. "Yes, hello?"

"Ah, just who I needed to speak to." Principal Nezu's voice came over the phone.

"Principal Nezu? I'd never thought you'd call at a time like this."

"Oh, am I interrupting something important at the moment?" He asked.

"No, no, it's all good. I just never expected a call from you." I said to clear up the confusion. "What exactly did you call for?"

"Well, I never got the chance to thank you for saving the students from the villain attack at USJ, so you have my thanks."

"Aw, thank you, sir. Though I don't think a thank you is necessary, since I only showed up to save my son."

"Nonsense! You have my full gratitude for your heroism that day. It's no surprise coming from one of my alumni that's a well-known pro nowadays." He complimented me. "But enough of praising you, let's talk about what's next. I have an offer you might take interest in."

This got my curiosity peaked when he brought an offer. I'm not one to take these lightly, but coming from the principal of the school I graduated from, I'll have to listen to him on what he has to say.

"Hm, an offer? I'm listening."

Third Person POV

School started back after the two-day break, and students were talking about the USJ incident.

"You guys! Have you watched the news last night?" Asked Hagakure.

"Yeah." Said Ojiro.

"It was so cool that we got a few seconds of screen time! Though I bet nobody noticed me hanging out in the background." She sounded sad from the lack of attention she didn't get.

"Probably not." Said Shoji

"It is difficult to stand out when you're just gloves." Ojiro pointed out her costume.

"We're totally big deals. Those news channels love us, we're basically celebrities." Kaminari said in a happy tone.

"Yeah, it's kinda crazy right?" Kirishima agreed with him.

"Get over yourselves. The hero course that pumps out pros was attacked, and that's what they care about." Jiro told them.

"Who knows what would've happened to us if the teachers hadn't shown up." Sero wondered.

"Why'd you say that?! I'm gonna pee myself just thinking about it!" Mineta freaked in fear.

"Oh shut up! Grow a pair, loser!" Bakugo shouted at him.

Mineta sat back down scared while Josuke was irritated at the fact he has to sit next to him.

"This is one of the things of becoming a pro hero, what else did you expect to be, a walk in the park?" Josuke asked.

"You're not wrong." Said Ryoichi. "We may be students, but it's important to know that being a hero is a lot more serious than you think." He then leaned over to Momo, whispering to her about something. "And how did he get in the hero course if he's gonna be this scared?"

"To be honest, I stopped asking that myself the other day." Momo answered and ignored it.

"Did you guys see All Might fighting the bird guy? That dude was super strong and he still destroyed him!" Said Sato.

"His strength is truly a thing of wonder." Said Tokoyami.

Homeroom started and Iida came marching in. "Attention! Homeroom class is about to begin! Everyone stop talking and take your seats."

"Uh, we're all sitting." Said Kirishima.

"Yeah, you're the only one standing." Sero pointed out.

Iida sat down in defeat of his own actions. "Dang it!"

"Don't sweat it." Uraraka tried to make him feel better.

"Hey, Tsu. So, who do ya think's gonna teach class today?" Asked Ashido.

"No idea. Mr. Aizawa's still in the hospital recovering from his injuries." Tsuyu wondered as well.

Just then, the door opened to reveal someone that caught everyone's attention, especially one spiky-haired elemental quirk user.

"Wh- No way... You can't be serious...!" Ryoichi was completely dumbfounded.

The teacher was most likely a hero but a familiar one at that and once they faced the class, it was revealed to be his mother as the substitute.

"Morning everyone! I'm pretty sure you know me, Mrs. Akatani or better known as 'The previous/current #3 hero, Yui.' And I'll be your substitute teacher for today!" Yui said with excitement.

Everyone got excited as this was their second time being taught by another famous pro hero. Well, everyone except Ryoichi of course. He was hiding his face in embarrassment.

"What's wrong? Aren't you excited that your mom is teaching for today?" Asked Momo.

"Well yeah, but... this is too embarrassing for me…" Ryoichi was just too embarrassed at the fact his mom was teaching today.

"Aww, don't worry, you'll make it through." Momo comforted him.

"Anyways, Mr. Aizawa had to stay in bed to heal for a while, luckily I had a call the other day to substitute for him and I've got some important information to tell you all. Your fight isn't over yet."

"Our fight?" Bakugo questioned.

"Don't tell me…" Izuku followed up.

"Not more bad guys!" Mineta freaked out again.

"The UA sports festival is about to start." Yui informed them.

"The sports festival!" The class

"Let's go kick some ass!" Kirishima shouted with excitement.

"Wait a second." Kaminari interrupted him.

"Is it really a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Asked Jiro.

"They could attack once we're all in the same place." Ojiro added.

"Well, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever." Yui explained. "Plus they're beefing up security compared to past years when I was here. So it's something we can't just cancel over a few villains."

"Uh, I'm sorry, but why not? It's just a sports festival." Asked Mineta.

"Mineta, don't you know how important this competition is?" Izuku asked him.

"Of course I do! I just don't wanna get murdered!"

"Relax, you'll probably make it through. If you don't freak out over anything every 5 minutes." Ryoichi muttered.

"Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world." Yui began to explain. "Before that, everyone was obsessed with the Olympic games. But then quirks started appearing. Now the Olympics went from the most watched event, to the least watched. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters. The UA Sports Festival."

"That's right. And top heroes everywhere will be watching." Momo spoke up.

"And this is where you get scouted." Ryoichi added.

"They're right. After graduating, a lot of people join pro agencies as a sidekick." Said Kaminari.

"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go. They miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks. Actually, that's probably where you're headed. You're kinda dumb." Jiro said while making fun of his "whey mode."

"Aw come on!" Kaminari was shocked to hear that from her.

"Yeah, it's true that joining a famous hero agency, like mine for starters, can give you greater experience and popularity. That's why the festival matters." Yui told them. "This event is the path for you if you wanna become a pro. One chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. Which means no slacking off on training, got it?"

"Yes ma'am!"

"Alright then. Any questions?" Yui asked and the whole class raised their hands. "Regarding any sports festival-related stuff."

Half the class put their hands down while some kept their hands up.

"Teaching may take some getting used to…" Yui thought.

Lunchtime

Everyone was talking about either getting pumped for the sports festival or coming up with ways to get noticed by other pros.

"I'm kinda nervous. Everyone's getting all pumped up for it while I barely can do a thing to get noticed." Said Josuke.

"What are you talking about? If it's about what you can do then I'm pretty sure you'll get noticed."

"Are you sure, cause all I could do is just move stuff with my mind, and that gives me migraines." Josuke said and just lifted a lollipop to his mouth and planted his head on his desk. "Who wants to have a sidekick that gets headaches every time I overdo it?"

"Oh come on don't be like that." Akio tried to cheer him up. "You'll get noticed by some pros, just gotta improve how you use your quirk."

"JoJo!" The three boys looked at Uraraka as she had a dark aura around her and some sort of serious angry face. "Let's do our best in the sports festival!"

"Uraraka, what happened to your face?" Asked Josuke.

"Seriously, what's up? You're normally like the most laid-back girl ever." Mina wondered as well.

"Have you been hanging out with Bakugo too much?" Ryoichi said mockingly while Bakugo shouted in the background.

She suddenly put her fist in the air and shouted. "Everyone, I'm gonna do my best!"

"Yeah!" Akio joined in.

"Alright! See Josuke, why can't you be like her? You're even her height as well." Ryoichi teased him.

Josuke just glared at him and said nothing, not being amused at all.

They walked to lunch and got their meals. Then, Kari came up to her brother and asked to sit with her friend group and he went along with her.

"So, you're Kari's brother. Name's Tetsutetsu." Tetsutetsu introduced himself in a manly manner.

"Why do I feel I'm meeting Kirishima again?" Ryoichi thought to himself.

"Huh, you guys really are twins." Kendo pointed out. "Spikey hair, roundish shaped eyes, and snarky attitude. The only difference is eye color."

"Oh, he must have fangs too!" Setsuna spoke up.

The twins looked at each other and shrugged. Opening their mouths, they showed their teeth and they revealed to have fangs. Her friends were amazed to see this.

"Wow, that's cool! And looking sharp too." Said Setsuna.

"Yeah, it is kinda cool to have fangs, but there's one con." Kari said and her classmates were curious.

"We had to wear braces when they were growing in…" Both Ryoichi and Kari said simultaneously while dreading the memories of wearing braces.

"They're even in sync too!" The 1B students thought.

"I guess it was a painful experience, huh?"

"Our fangs were growing in at the time, so we had to wear them so our teeth could stay straight." Ryoichi explained.

"Don't remind me…" Kari said with her head planted on the table.

"Our classes are rivals in some way." Kendo pointed out. "From what I heard, that Bakugo guy tends to be very explosive and rude at times. That's similar to Kamakiri's personality."

"And Kurorio gives off goth vibes like that bird dude." Setsuna said as she was referring to Tokoyami.

"And we have you two for each class." Tetsutetsu and realized something about them. "Say, I've been wondering, which one's the better twin?"

"Tetsutetsu! You can't just ask that!" Kendo scolded for his question.

"I'm just curious!"

"It's fine, Kendo." Kari said, reassuring her. "People asked us that a lot before. And even Ryoichi and I asked that question ourselves before."

"Regardless, we may bother each other like siblings do sometimes, but when it comes to who's better it doesn't really matter to us." Ryoichi explained.

"He's the smart one between us."

"She's more outgoing and fierce."

"And I'm stronger." They both said.

It took a moment for the twins to realize what they said and they looked at each other confused.

"Uh… yeah. The strong one would be me." Kari said while trying to keep her cool.

"No, last I checked I was the strong one." Ryoichi said doing the same.

At this point, Kari was a bit ticked off as her eye was twitching and she had an anger mark on her head.

"Ha ha, very funny, brother. But I'm the strong one here."

"Wrong again, sister. I'm the strong one."

The twins were now glaring at each other with angry looks on their faces and they were giving off an intense aura to where no one wanted to bother them.

"Yeah, they're twin siblings alright." The three 1B students sweatdropped being dumbfounded at what they were watching.

Momo POV

I guess even in school the twins tend to bicker with each other. I will admit, it's kind of amusing to watch sometimes.

"Man, siblings always have something to argue about, huh?" Said Jiro.

"Yes, they're like destined rivals. Although, they still care for each other." I said and right one queue, Ryoichi and Kari stopped their arguing and made up, acting as if nothing happened just now. "See?"

"So quick!" Jiro commented.

"You'll get used to it eventually."

"If you say so… Say, have you talked to him about it?" Jiro asked.

"Hm? Talk to him about what?"

"Y'know, what we talked about before. Have you ever told him?"

I was still confused about what Jiro was talking about until I remembered our talk before we went to USJ. My cheeks were already getting red and I covered my face in embarrassment.

"I'll take that as a no."

"I'm sorry, Jiro. I tried to talk but with handling the incident, and getting caught up in some personal stuff, I completely forgot about it." I apologized and held my head low.

"Hey, no need to worry about it." She said and tried to comfort me. "Maybe we should give it some time and then talk with him."

"I guess. I just wish I knew what to do about these feelings. I don't want to bother him in his personal space, but I don't want to distance myself and make things weird too. And there's the upcoming sports festival so his training is important…" I just rambled and muttered about my current feelings for Ryoichi. He's my best friend, but I can't help but feel I want to be more than that. Why are feelings so difficult?!

"Having trouble with feelings?" Melchiott's voice spoke up and got our attention. "Yeah, they can be troublesome, but eventually you'll be able to figure things out."

"Oh? You got some advice to spare?" Jiro asked her.

"Not exactly, but with my time with Akio and Selvaria, it managed to work out between them." She tells us. "Other than the constant smooching of course."

Coincidentally, we looked over and saw Mendez and Bles showing love to each other. They were even feeding each other their lunches and I think I could even see hearts surrounding them. One thing we were all feeling right now, was pure jealousy.

"Lucky." We all said what we were thinking at the moment.

"Yeah, but as for advice, if you're worried about your feelings affecting things between you two, you can put them aside for now and work them out." Melchiott advised us to do so.

"Do you think that will work?" I asked.

"Sure… I think." She says being unsure about it. "I'm not one to think too much about relationships, but I'm willing to help you and Ryoichi tie things together."

Feeling easier on myself, I thought of Melchiott's advice. Putting my feelings aside for a moment could work for the time being. That way, Jiro and I can be more on the same page and more ready when the time comes.

"I'll take your word for it. Thank you, Melchiott!"

"You're welcome! Anything to help my classmates out." She said and continued her lunch.

Just as I was about to continue mine, her words were going through my head again. She just mentioned "classmates" and brought up Ryoichi earlier. I also noticed Jiro looked a bit flustered while trying to hide it. The pieces came together and looked to my side to see she had a small smug look on her face.

"Oh… she knows…" I could feel my face getting hotter, along with my heart beating faster suddenly.

Whatever the case, these feelings… I can't deny that they're true, but I'll have to push them down. I want to stay with Ryoichi, but I won't force myself onto him. With the sports festival coming up, I have to focus on myself if I want to be a great hero. We both have to.
