Chapter 29 - Bella POV

The next morning, I woke up before Jared which here lately was a rare occurrence. I quietly climbed out of bed and headed downstairs to make coffee and start breakfast. I'd already had a cup of coffee and was about halfway through cooking breakfast when I felt Jared's arms wrap around my waist. I felt Jared's lips on my shoulder where my mark was. It always seemed to tingle when he kissed it or touched it. "Morning baby." I said.

"Morning. How'd you sleep?" He asked me.

"Better than I have in a while. Thanks for getting me to talk to the girls. It helped." I told him as I finished up breakfast. I started putting our breakfast on plates as Jared let go of me and poured himself a cup of coffee. Then he sat at the kitchen table as I turned and sat a plate down in front of him.

"So you got everything sorted?" Jared asked me.

I grabbed my plate and a fresh cup of coffee and sat next to Jared at the table. "Yes. Any plans today?" I asked him.

"Not really. Gonna start working on getting things packed for our trip to the cabin. Then your Dad asked if I'd come by and take a look at his washing machine. He said it's making a weird noise." Jared told me.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Isn't that more Paul's thing?" I asked.

Jared nodded. "Yeah, that's why I'm taking him with me." Jared smiled. I shook my head. "What about you?" He asked.

"Working at Uncle Quil's today." I told him.

"K. Wanna invite Paul and Rachel for dinner?" He asked.

I smiled as he stood from the table. "Sure." I said. Jared put his plate and coffee mug in the sink and then turned to kiss my cheek, before he left.

A little while later, I found myself sitting in Uncle Quil's study reading through another journal. This one was from Ephraim Black's pack. The last pack. I sipped my coffee as I read.

The pack is small. There's only three of us. It consists of myself, Levi Uley, and Quil Ateara II. A group of Cold One's has moved into the area on the other side of the Reservation (between us and the town). They claim that they don't feed off of humans that they only feed off of animals, so I agreed to make a treaty with them. We're unsure of how this treaty will affect future generations.

Quil's wife Lucy, brought a young woman home with her the other day. Her name is Martha Young. I can feel that she will be important to our pack. I can't explain it…but I can feel it.

It's the strangest thing…Martha has been able to help calm Levi, Quil and myself. Quil has communed with the spirits and they say that she is our Omega. That she must be protected at all costs. That she is the key to future generations. My wolf and I want to marry her. It's strange.

It's been a year since Martha came around. I've asked her to marry me. Quil is going to perform the ceremony. We've decided to tell her about the pack and us being spirit warriors. I hope that she's doesn't run away from us.

Quil and I explained everything to Martha. Within the last few weeks, strange things have begin to happen. Martha has been feeling more tired than usual. At first Quil and I thought that maybe she might be with child but after an examination he determined that she was not. Levi approached us, reminding us what the spirits said…that she was important. We combed through Taha Aki's journals. We think we might have found something. Quil is communing again.

After speaking with the spirits, it's been determined that Martha is the Omega of the pack. Quil has found out that her exhaustion is because the pack hasn't recognized her as their Omega. He's looking into the ceremony for it…

What?! I quickly pulled my phone out and call Sam asking him to come meet me at Uncle Quil's.

It's not long before Sam and Uncle Quil join me in the study. "What's going on?" Sam asked me. "You sounded freaked on the phone."

"I kinda am." I said. They both look at me confused. "I think I know what's wrong with me." I tell them.

"What is it?" Uncle Quil asks.

I hand him the journal I'd been reading. "I…I think I'm the Omega." I say.

Uncle Quil takes the journal and comes through the passages that I'd been reading. After a few minutes, he looks up at me and Sam. "Her symptoms fit. I'll have to commune with the spirits to be sure." Uncle Quil says.

"If she is…that would explain why the younger wolves go to her. Why…the older wolves feel the need to constantly protect her." Sam said. "It would explain the connection that Jacob and I both have to you."

I slowly nodded. "There's something else, isn't there?" I asked, feeling like they were holding something back.

They both nodded. "If you are the Omega, it would explain why Emily hasn't gotten pregnant yet." Sam says.

I looked at them confused. "How?" I asked.

"Because the Omega hasn't been recognized yet." Uncle Quil said.

I gasped.
