New Orleans. Known for its distinctive music, Creole cuisine, unique dialects, and annual celebrations for the locals. No matter how pretty the media portrayed the artistic town, New Orleans holds a much darker side.

In the supernatural world, it is known, mostly, as the city of witches - with vampires and werewolves in the mix. Three supernatural creatures fighting over power - neither bold enough to fully take it, not until the Mikaelson family, the Originals, had first arrived in New Orleans many years ago. That was until their father ran them out.

The Original Vampires were famous for their reckless and careless ways of killing not only for pleasure but for each other. They made sure everyone knew if one was messed with, it was everyone else's problem. Though the supernatural world rapidly grew fearful of the siblings, it was Niklaus Mikaelson they were most afraid of. His hybrid status surely caused an uproar – but it was his knack for manipulating everything with the help of his unique but deadly heritage that kept others away.

This could have been the motive of the new terror plaguing them.

Vampires were at war. Once news of the destruction of an Original vampire meant the eradication of their sire line, factions were formed to plan the takedown of an Original. Additionally, this caused other groups to form alliances with each other as a means to protect their own.

Juliet Ambrosia was part of that alliance ... in a sense.

Not like there was a newsletter to keep track of the recent events but Juliet made sure to keep tabs on the family ever since she'd come into her mystical powers. No – her name was not known like the Mikaelsons - she had done an excellent job in staying off the radar.

It had been decades since she had explored New Orleans. Her last visit was a means to an end. A way to break away the chains locked around her heart. She planned to confront the man who still dwelled deep within. But she couldn't - not after he fled the city as a large, raging fire caused the theater to collapse with innocent lives still inside. It felt as if it was just days prior when Juliet looked up to the once-burned theater now rebuilt.

New Orleans tourists celebrated around her, stuck in a drunken stupor. Alcohol infiltrated their systems altering their minds. Beer and liquor bottles were thrust high in the air. The sounds of live swing bands vibrated through the air as street performers played and danced the night away. Things were surely different but the one thing that would forever remain the same was Elijah Mikaelson stoically still on his balcony, deep in thought.

Juliet looked up at the Original vampire, admiring the way he still carried himself. With just one glance, anyone would have guessed he was a powerful corporate zombie and could get everything he wanted. The way he wore his suit, slightly slicked back hair, and held his composure would tell anyone not to mess with him.

Though everything about Elijah made the woman miss his scent and the way he used to gently caress her skin, Juliet wanted nothing more than to cause that balcony to fall with him on it despite his inability to die.

Rolling her eyes, Juliet dipped her gaze back to the block party happening around her. She had to get to the person she was looking for. Everything indicated Niklaus Mikaelson was not too far from where she was. The issue with having a sire was the sensation of belonging intensifying when near the Original bloodline. It was a feeling Juliet hadn't felt in a very long time but thought it useful for her intentions. First, she needed to find a place to reside in the city during her time there.

She waited patiently with a glass of red wine, sitting at one of the many dining settings placed outside of restaurants. Elijah stayed in her sights but Juliet kept just out of his should his gaze wander.

"Juliet?" Without turning, she knew who it was that had called her name in surprise. Aurora de Martel. An old 'friend'. The two met lifetimes ago during a drastic transition in Aurora's life. After Elijah had compelled Aurora to hate Klaus - after the two fell in love - Juliet later stepped in and cured the girl of the horrific magic Elijah cast on her. If anyone knew about losing love, it was Juliet and she wanted to console the red-head. However, Juliet cast a spell of her own as she needed not the Mikaelson's knowledge of her existence. Whenever Aurora was out of Juliet's presence, she would not remember the woman or her times with the older vampire. It was a tactic she had learned from her sire.

Taking a sip from her wine, Juliet waited until the other vampire came into view to give a small but taunting smile.

"Aurora," Juliet greeted. "Your brother has finally let you out of solitary I see." Every syllable she spoke was almost melodic.

"He doesn't exactly know I'm freed from that wretched place." As much as Aurora loved her brother there was something always holding her back from killing him. Juliet understood the girl's dilemma. Aurora took a seat across from Juliet. "You're here to protect your sire, aren't you?" Aurora inquired, her voice hushed. Without answering, Juliet stared at the girl, giving her answer. "I'm looking for him as well."

"What do you want with him?" Juliet asked, a little assertive for their passing conversation. Aurora's history with Niklaus wasn't a secret. There was hesitance in revealing Klaus's whereabouts because of it.

Aurora held up her hands showing she meant no harm.

"Calm down Juliet; all I want is to talk to him and get back the way we were." Aurora's plan was sweet. Juliet knew better. Her laughter echoed, hidden within the sounds of the muted trumpets bellowing not far from where the women sat. "I didn't think what I said was very funny."

"No, it wasn't," Juliet assured her, laughter subsiding. "But your thought process is hilarious." Her expression suddenly changed with a glare sent toward the girl. "My dear, you don't honestly think Niklaus is going to fall back head over heels for a woman who he hasn't even thought about in a thousand years, do you?" Aurora's hurt expression gave Juliet her answer. Disappointed, she shook her head. "Listen, my child, I've been watching the Mikaelsons all these years and I can assure you, many girls have won his heart since he left you. A lot of them are very interesting and simply beautiful." Aurora glared but Juliet could see the sorrow in her eyes.

For a split-second pity presented itself - Juliet knew the sorrow she felt. "Okay; I'll make you a deal." Right away Aurora's attention was grasped once again. "If I find him – which I will – and I lure him away from his family, I'll trap him in a room with you so you can do ... whatever you want, but you cannot kill him."

Aurora smiled and quickly nodded. Juliet offered a kind smile, hiding any indication she was mentally devising a plan. While Aurora began looking around at the partying humans, a light bulb switched on in Juliet's head. She didn't need to lure him into a room; Aurora did. The moment he caught wind his once beloved secret relationship was in town, he would venture off into the dark abyss all on his own.

Sitting back in her seat, the older vampire smiled as she lifted the wine glass against her lips. "Piece of cake."

The women eventually settled on terms and Elijah disappeared into the Mikaelson Manor. Juliet knew her night was done. Leaving the table, she took a trip to her home. Being as old as she was, the woman learned early on to buy a house in any town or city she knew she would visit frequently and compel a family to live in it, keeping the place clean. The deed of the house had that family's name on it so no other vampire could enter within the confines of her sanctuary.

Entering the house, Juliet noticed the new family living in the home had painted over everything she had once slaved over. Her beautiful peach-coated walls were changed to a light green with brown wooden crown molding. Décor littered the space including photographs depicting a very happy family. Each member had smiles on their faces; parents and three kids. However, there was one family member shown in the pictures who resembled the woman Juliet originally compelled in the beginning. With her long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes traced with light black eyeliner – it was almost as if Juliet was staring into a portrait of Elizabeth Albright.

"Can I help you?"

Juliet's eyes found a tall brunette woman whose expression showed how worried she was to see an unfamiliar face invading her home - uninvited. Before she answered, Juliet's head tilted, eyeing her carefully. She was a human – there was no doubt about that. The sound of her blood pulsing caused the vampire's hunger to rise.

"Yes. I'm Juliet."

"We've been waiting for you." Turning on her heel, Juliet found a set of blue eyes staring back at her. The woman standing not too far stared in awe as if she was seeing the second coming of Christ. However, it was simply Juliet – a demon of the night. "My great-grandmother told us a tale of a woman who vowed to protect our family if we just watched over her home."

"Was your great-grandmother Elizabeth Albright?" The blonde-haired woman nodded, her eyes frozen on Juliet. Taking steps toward the blonde woman, Juliet analyzed her. Reaching a handout, the vampire cupped the woman's cheek and smiled. "You look just like her." In an attempt to smile, Juliet realized there was one thing Elizabeth probably had not mentioned to her family. "Unfortunately, there was something she left out in the stories. The rule of no children living in the house." Her hand fell back to her side as she began to make her way to the sealed level of the house – her part of the house.

"Wait! How am I supposed to just up and move my family?" The other sister asked, running after the woman.

"First thing tomorrow I will buy you a new house and have people move everything. Just make sure you're packed and ready to leave by then unless you want your children to get hurt."
