Lost and Found
Truth and Dare
...
Location: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria
Time: 12:15pm
Monty knocked on the double wooden doors of the Daycare. He had no child with him this afternoon, but he already knew what to say when Sunny opened the door.
Sunny greeted him with a cheerful smile, and a hug.
"Good morning, Monty! Did you find another one on your Lost and Found route?" Sunny asked, his smile slowly disappearing when he saw no child in the gator's arms or at his feet.
Monty cleared his throat, brushing his messy red hair out of his eyes. "I thought I'd just-" his thought out excuse was immediately interrupted when he heard his name yelled in a high pitch child scream as a pair of small arms wrapped around his legs from behind.
"What the-?" Monty turned his upper torso around, lifting his arms so he could see what had surprised him from behind. The little kid's head lifted up with a big grin on her face. It took a moment for Monty's face recognition to pick up, but Sunny's was faster.
"Hi Ashley! It's so nice to see you again! How have you been? You didn't get lost again did you?" Sunny asked, glancing up to Monty. Monty smirked and shook his head. "No. She wasn't lost...again." he said, smiling down at the little girl.
Ashley was wearing a Monty Gator sweater, and held a classic Monty Gator plushie in her arms. Monty didn't try hiding his grin he wore on his face. Ashley was the first girl he found, and what started his little Lost and Found route. Finding little lost kids and bringing them to the Daycare. Ashley had lost her parents and hid in his Gator Golf. He barely recognized her now in the green and purple sweater. Ashley beamed brightly up at the two towering animatronics.
"I asked my mommy and daddy to drop me off here. I was looking for Monty! I wanted to show him my new sweater!" she said, spreading her arms out to show the front of the design. Monty scooped her up into his arms and gave her a big hug. "That's my little Rockstar!" he said excitedly. "How have you been?"
"Good! I'm in kindergarten now! I'm learning my numbers and letters!" Ashley said excitedly. Monty beamed. "That's wonderful, kiddo! I'm so proud of you." Ashley gave Monty a kiss on his snout. "Thank you, Monty. You are the best!"
Monty felt his servers heating up. "Aw shucks, little lady," he said, his Southern twang slipping. Sunny giggled from where he stood, admiring Monty's embarrassment.
Monty set Ashley down and looked over to Sunny, who quickly looked away and pretended to be distracted by something else. The Daycare Assistant clapped his metal hands together, causing his bells around his wrists to jingle.
"Alrighty! Come on, kiddies! I have a fun activity planned for ya'll! We are going to paint rocks today!" All the children stopped playing tag and came running up to Sunny, circling around him like little ducklings. Ashley shot her hand up really fast into the air
"Oh! Oh! Can we play a game I learned from my older sister instead?" asked Ashley. Sunny placed the bottles of paint down, looking a little crestfallen. "But...I brought out the glitter glue," Sunny said, his triangular Ray's drooping a little. Monty couldn't help but to smirk at Sunny's response. Always with the glitter glue.
Ashley raised her hand again. "But it's a fun game! I played it with my sister and her friends!" Sunny was about to counter the argument, but Ashley interrupted him.
"She's a teenager!"
Sunny gasped. Monty couldn't help but to chuckle at Sunny's shocked expression. To little kids, teenagers were the pinnacle of cool. Sunny must have heard so many stories of the little ones' older siblings and all the cool things they did, like ride skateboards and blow bubbles from bubble gum and wear their baseball caps backwards. Since Sunny dealt with little ones all day, he had the same spirit and mind as them.
All the kids got excited about Ashley's game and wanted to play it instead of painting rocks. Sunny looked over to Monty who had his arms crossed over his chest and leaning against one of the playsets. Monty smirked at Sunny.
"Sounds cooler than painting dirty old rocks...and less messy." Monty knew Sunny was a bit of a neat freak when it came to keeping the Daycare neat and tidy. Sunny sighed and nodded his head. "Alright. That is true. Let's play Ashley's game!" The kids cheered and sat down in a circle on the large rainbow playmat. Sunny and Monty sat down next to each other. Ashley sat down next to Monty as well.
"Ok! The game is called Truth or Dare!" she explained. "So you ask whoever you want to either tell the truth about something or to dare them to do something," she explained. She looked over to one of the girls in the circle.
"Megan! Truth or dare!"
"Uh...Dare!"
"I dare you...to act like a chicken!" she said. Megan giggled as she got up, tucked her hands in her armpits, and began clucking like a chicken. All the kids in the circle laughed and clapped in delight.
One by one, each kid asked each other Truth or Dare. Mainly the kids loved coming up with dares.
"I dare you...to climb up the playpen and make monkey noises!"
"I dare you...to eat the piece of cheese that has been stuck inside the red slide for three days!"
"I dare you...to turn off the lights!"
"Absolutely not!" Sunny said, standing to his feet suddenly. Monty grabbed Sunny's arm and pulled him back down. Sunny's eyes widened in surprise as he started to sit back down, but stumbled a little, causing him to land in Monty's lap. Monty felt Sunny's weight in his lap, Sunny's faceplate inches from his snout; the bells jingling close to his hearing system. Sunny bolted up so fast.
"S-sorry! Sorry! Oh my stars! Oh deary me! Oh! It was an accident! Oh goodness I am so clumsy!" He stuttered, all flustered as he sat back down on the playmat, hands over his face. Monty ignored his servers heating up, causing his metal cheeks to feel hot to the touch.
"Relax. The kids aren't going to turn out the lights...hey Ashley, me and Sunny haven't been asked Truth or Dare. Ask us something. I'm itching to be dared," Monty said, grinning.
Ashley smiled and nodded her head.
"Ok!...Sunny! Truth or Dare!" Ashley asked.
Sunny thought for a moment. "Truth!" he said excitedly.
"Is it true that..." She thought for a minute, looking at Sunny, then at Monty...then back at Sunny. "Is it true that...you like Monty?" Ashley asked. Monty blinked in surprise, but Sunny didn't seem phased by the question at all.
"Of course I like Monty! Monty is a very good friend," Sunny said smiling.
"But do you like like him?" Ashley asked.
Sunny's smile immediately disappeared. "I...what?" he asked. Ashley smiled a big smile. "Do you like like him?" she repeated. Sunny fidgeted where he sat. His fingers bunching up his striped pant legs.
Monty glanced over to Sunny from behind his purple star sunglasses. He didn't want it to look obvious that he was curious...but...what was Sunny going to say? He had to answer the question truthfully. The other kids were curious as well. All eyes were on Sunny. It was a full minute of silence before Sunny finally lifted his faceplate and responded.
"D-dare! I choose dare instead! I can do that right? I can choose a different one right?" Sunny asked. Ashley leaned back and wrinkled her nose in disappointment. "Yeah...you can," she said. Monty found himself frowning a little. Sunny was the only one who was sighing in relief.
"Then I choose Dare!" he said with confidence.
Ashley was quiet for a few seconds, then Megan and another girl started whispering to each other. Then the three girls began giggling excitedly with each other before turning back to the perplexed animatronics.
"I dare you...to kiss Monty!" Ashley squealed. The rest of the kids all screamed "Ewww!" but screamed in laughter at the same time. Kissing. A gross, mushy gushy grown up thing. The boys were grossed out the most, but the girls were curious. Sunny could see it in their eyes.
Sunny couldn't get himself to move or speak. He could feel every circuit, wire and server either sparking, heating up, or shorting out inside him. The kids continued to be rambunctious and over excited about the whole dare, eager to see what would happen. Monty tried quieting them down since Sunny seemed to have stopped functioning.
After a few long, and drawn out minutes, Monty got irritated with waiting for Sunny to wake up from his frozen state. He rolled his eyes behind his star sunglasses. "What's the big deal, Sun? its just a kiss," Monty said. Those words seemed to activate Sunny because Sunny finally turned his head to look up at Monty.
"What?"
"A kiss isn't a big deal-" started Monty.
"Yes it is!" shouted Sunny, startling Monty.
Monty was surprised by the outburst, but immediately shook it off. "Well, you either have to answer Ashley's Truth, or do the Dare."
Sunny's white eyes widened in two round orbs that reminded Monty of large pearls...or fireflies.
Sunny's bells jingled as he fumbled with his hands in front of him, unable to decide.
"I...I...I...I...I..." Sunny kept repeating. Monty finally got fed up with waiting. He growled impatiently. He wanted a turn with the game already, why was Sunny taking so long with his?
"You know what? Here," Monty said impatiently as he grabbed Sunny by the arm, pulling him closer to his face, and planted a kiss right on Sunny's cheek.
Sunny's faceplate began to heat up to where the metal was hot to the touch. He placed his hands over his face in embarrassment.
The kids squealed; both grossed out, but were also laughing in delight. "They kissed! Aaahhh!" screamed Ashley excitedly. All the kids either fell over laughing, pretended to vomit, or ran away. Eventually they all got up and ran off to chase each other.
Monty sighed in frustrated anger. "Consarnit! I didn't even get a chance to be asked Truth or Dare!" he snapped angrily. Sunny stayed quiet where he sat.
...
Time: 8:45pm
Sunny threw his arms up and turned to Monty after every kid had left the Daycare. Monty could tell that he wasn't happy.
"How could you say that a kiss isn't such a big deal? It's a huge deal! It's what grown ups do when they are all lovey dovey! That weird feeling of like liking each other! Grown ups do it to show how much they like like each other!" Sunny said.
"You mean love?" Monty asked.
"Yes!"
Monty sighed loudly, staring up at the ceiling. "You really need a break from the kids," Monty said, shaking his head.
"And you need to know that a kiss is a huge deal!" Sunny threw back at Monty.
Monty crossed his arms over his broad chest. "No. It's not."
Sunny mimicked him, huffing in frustration. "Ok, Mister Gator. If a kiss isn't such a big deal, then what is? How is it not such a big deal?"
Monty gestured out towards the double doors. "It's not a big deal because I witness it all the time. I see teenagers French kiss all the time in my Gator Golf area. It's dark in there so that's where they hide to get their alone time."
Sunny blinked in confusion. "What's French kissing?"
Monty blinked in surprise, before realizing that Sunny didn't know because he lived in a G rated play world. He's never seen what happens outside the Daycare...but Monty found himself hesitating.
"It's ...um...it's more like...um..." He tried using his hands to explain better, but he gave up halfway. "It's...erm...It's kissing but..."
Sunny pressed his two index fingers together. Thinking about something. Then his eyes seemed to brighten like fireflies as he turned his gaze back upward to Monty.
"Monty...Truth or Dare?"
Monty blinked and lowered his hands down. "What?" he asked. Sunny pressed the ends of his two index fingers together. "Truth or Dare? You never got to play the game..." he said. Monty was silent for a full minute, staring at the sun animatronic in bewilderment. Why did he suddenly want to play that game? The kids weren't here with them. Yes he never got a chance to play, but couldn't this have waited till tomorrow when all the kids were here?
"Ermm...uh...Dare?" he asked.
Sunny placed his hands down and straightened up. "I dare you to French kiss me," he said.
Now it was Monty's turn to freeze up.
"I...wh...why?" he asked.
"Because that's how you play the game! I dared you and now you have to do it. It's the rules."
Monty stood there dumbfounded, his arms at his sides and head cocked slightly. Part of his red hair drooped over one eye, but he didn't bother to move it.
"Are you sure? It's...it's more than just a kiss," Monty explained. Sunny began fumbling his fingers and looking back over to the wooden doors nervously.
"Well...you said a kiss isn't a big deal...why is this one any different?"
Monty hesitated where he stood. The Daycare Assistant did have a point. He was being a hypocrite if he was acting like this with a kiss. He couldn't let Sunny see that he was nervous of kissing...kissing Sunny. Like he said, it's just a kiss...right?
Monty took one step closer to Sunny, gently placing his hands on Sunny's hips. Sunny stopped looking away and looked up at the large gator. Monty pulled Sunny closer till their chests were almost touching. He lifted his hands up to Sunny's face, careful not to scratch the paint off his faceplate. The two animatronics staring into each other's eyes. Sunny's pearl white eyes and Monty's ruby red eyes, filtered purple by his sunglasses. Ironic. He was wearing sunglasses as he stared into the sun.
Hesitant, he slowly leaned in, closing his eyes, and pressing his lips against Sun's. Monty was surprised to find Sun's lips soft. Most likely a choice by their creator. Monty was so distracted by Sunny's lips, he'd almost forgotten why he was kissing Sunny in the first place. He tilted his head slightly, opening his mouth and stretching his metal tongue out. It only made it to Sun's soft lips when he chickened out and pulled away.
When Monty opened his eyes, he saw that Sunny's eyes were already wide open. It took him a few seconds to realize what was wrong with that picture before snapping his head up.
"You had your eyes open the whole time?!" Monty reared back in terror. Sunny blinked in surprise at Monty's sudden outburst.
"Uh...yeah? Was I not supposed to?"
"No! You're supposed to close your eyes!"
"Well I've never kissed anyone before! How was I supposed to know you have to close your eyes! Here, this time I'll close my eyes," he said as he leaned in, wrapping his arms around Monty. His glowing pearl like eyes snapped shut by his faded yellow eyelids.
Monty pulled away in surprise. He could feel his main hard drive thumping inside his large chest. Sunny stopped and opened his eyes. "What?"
"You want to kiss me again?" Monty asked in shock. Sunny gave him a confused look. "Yeah? I want to get this right...It's not a big deal," he pointed out.
Monty opened his mouth, then closed it. Damn it, he did say that. Why did Sunny have to point that out?
"I mean...You said it was a big deal to you. So if we kiss again...wont it be a bigger deal?" Monty asked.
"I dared you to French kiss me. It's not like I asked you to kiss me...do you want me to dare you to kiss me again?" Sunny asked Monty went quiet. How could he answer that?
Monty didn't seem to have to as Sunny asked him Truth or Dare again. He chose dare again and Monty found himself closing his eyes and kissing Sunny again.
Sunny's lips felt nice, even the second time around. Monty felt his tense body relax a little, leaning in to Sunny a little more. He liked this feeling. Sunny's arms around his neck, his hands on Sunny's waist. Their chests touching. Monty never thought he'd ever be doing this-
Suddenly, he felt Sunny's tongue push past his lips and into his mouth. Monty's eyes snapped open in shock. Sunny was French kissing him! Monty almost went into a full shut down. The moment wouldn't have shocked him as much if Monty had actually French kissed Sunny instead of chickening out at the last second. On top of that...Sunny was French kissing like a pro.
Monty just stood there being French kissed, his servors heating up to where steam was wafting off him. How did Sunny know?French kissing him like he had done it before. He felt Sunny's tongue press against his own, exploring inside his mouth; running along his sharp teeth, and the roof of his mouth.
Then Sunny pulled away and looked up at Monty. "How was that? Did I do it right?" Monty was stunned. His gears had stopped functioning for a moment. What had just happened? Monty finally got his gears to start working again.
"Erm...Uh...not bad...for a first try..." he finally choked out. Sunny beamed brightly up at Monty. Monty coughed into his fist, his fire red hair hiding his eyes, acting like a curtain between him and Sunny.
"Well I better get going..." he said. Sunny nodded. "Ok! See ya later, Alligator!" Sunny said cheerfully as he wrapped his arms around the broad chested gator. Monty flinched, then relaxed and completed the hug back.
"Yeah, see ya aroun'...er...frown? drown? clown? Wait...See ya aroun,' Astro Clown." Monty grinned at his accomplishment. Sunny giggled at the little nickname Monty just made up for him.
"Astro Clown. I like it."
...
After Monty left, Sunny hooked himself to the pulley system that allowed him to "fly" from one part of the Daycare to the next. It lifted him off his feet and took him up to the cartoon style tower, which served as his recharging station.
The tower was a flat, cardboard style display to give off the illusion of a fairy tale princess prison. But to Sunny, it was his safe zone.
When Sunny got to the platform that jutted out of the wall, he unhooked the line from his back and walked inside. It was a small round room, full of silk pillows and soft stuffed animals Thousands of drawings overlapped along the wall from children he had taken care of over the years.
He sat down amongst the pillows and stuffed animals. Most of the stuffed animals were what children had lost and never came back to get them. The reason being, the toys would be considered broken or unfixable, and the child would just ask for a new plushie. He found them worn down, an arm or a leg missing, loose stitching, causing their fluff to come out. Missing button eyes or ripped off heads from angry siblings.
Sunny would take these abandoned toys and fix them up. He knew how to sew. His fingers had a built in sewing system.
Sunny pulled out an abandoned Monty Gator plushie. The nose piece for the sunglasses had snapped off. Sunny couldn't help but to smile at a similar situation from a cherished memory with Monty. He grabbed the glitter glue bottle next to him and glued the piece back together. The Monty Gator smiled up at him, as if silently thanking him. Sunny smiled gently back. Running his thumbs gently across the plushie's chest, deep in thought.
He slowly lifted the plushie to his faceplate, and gently kissed the Monty Gator plush's snout. It wasn't the same, but it was close enough to relive that first kiss. Sunny smiled softly as he pulled away and stared down at the Monty Gator plushie in his thin boney hands. He thought back to Ashley's Truth or Dare Game.
"Sunny! Truth or Dare?"
"Truth!"
"Is it true that...you like like Monty?"
Sunny smiled softly to himself.
"Yes..." he whispered.
