Hi, and here we are in the final part of this story. One more chapter to go! This one ties together every neat and nice for the final chapter which I think will be more than likely be at some point in the future.
So I am going to keep this note short and sweet and get on with it.

A First Time For Everything
Chapter 22-Something Special
The Penultimate Chapter-Leah shares her plans with her brother and with Embry who too makes a decision about what life looks like going forwards.
She had a long bath and then she staggered out to find the table stocked with food and that morning the three Clearwater's ate better than they had done in a long time—certainly since they had become three. They ate the Chinese and the Thai and the pizza, Seth stuffed his face with dough balls and they ate the burger that came with and they laughed and joked as their Mom finally got to understand just what dipping a fry into a milkshake actually meant. For their Mom sat there dipping her dumplings into sauce with the chopsticks it was like a baptism, a renewal of their relationship and Leah laughed as Seth took his first sip of wine and gagged on the taste as their Mom punched the air taking the glass of him.
As it turned out werewolves had no sense of recovery when it came to drink because their mother staring at the two of them pulled out a bottle of champagne which was actually very nice and they laughed and drank and ate until they were all exhausted again where upon their Mom took them into the living room had Leah on one side of her and Seth on the other and they watched some godawful Tom Cruise film until the exhaustion caught up with them and they both fell asleep.
When Leah had woken up she had staggered to the coffee pot like a woman possessed and only when she had staggered outside to breathe in the night air did she realise that between the three of them they had slept away a whole day and a whole night.
She stayed there staring at the woods that made the barrier to their little house and Seth came and joined her not twenty minutes later clutching a mug of cocoa complete with whipped cream and mini marshmallows which was saying something considering Leah was not in the mood to eat anything else today—and that was with their horrendous appetites that never went away.
Seth sat down next to her blinking sleep out of his eyes and said quietly.
"Embry's a good bloke you know"
"I know he is…and since when did you start speaking like Prince William—"
"Since I watched the Royal Wedding—"
"Oh Dear God Seth"
"Hey those two are made for each other!"
Here Leah rolled her eyes heavenwards. There was no saving Seth sometimes. He was a menace to himself.
Seth tapped his hands against his coffee mug and then said.
"I wish I'd have decked Sam's face in for you"
She laughed until she realised that her little brother was indeed serious. She turned to look at him and Seth shrugged as if he had been thinking on this idea for a while which Leah realised with a swoop of emotion—he actually had.
She bit her bottom lip and then reached out and took his hand in hers linking their fingers together as only a brother and sister could.
"Thanks Seth but that's not necessary"
"It is. Your my sister and he hurt you and Emily betrayed you and I know it's different on this side of it but back then he was the guy I looked up to like a brother…hell I loved him as if he was my big brother and he betrayed you and what did I do…I let Dad talk me out of it and I listened because it was Dad and what was the point you know? But I should have ended both of them…I had plans to do it Leah, a rage…I don't know why I didn't transform there and then. That day…that day it all ended it was me you see. I heard that she had asked you to be her bridesmaid and I wanted to claw her eyes out for you. I knew Mom wasn't going to help cause she was bending over backwards to make life easy for the precious little bint and Dad—" he trailed off closing his eyes as he began to shake and uncaring of the danger that it posed she wrapped her arms around her little brother and for once he didn't shake her off.
Hey it was a new day wasn't it?
And all that jazz?
He bit down hard on his bottom lip and she smiled at him.
"It's okay you know"
"You're my sister"
"I know…and your my brother. So it's okay. Today is a new day."
Seth shot her a look from the side corner of his eye.
"It's freaky when you get like this…all understanding and that shit. I'm used to you being a bitch"
"And I'm used to you being a twat"
"Hey!"
She laughed and then she reached out and took his hand in hers again.
"Thank you" she said quietly. "I haven't been the easiest of sisters—"
"Well you never were that"
"HEY! But seriously…Seth…you didn't have to be so supportive, and you were…I knew that deep down…that you were…so thank you"
Seth turned and looked at her and he smiled.
"Your alright you know" he said casually.
Leah smiled back at him.
And the Clearwater siblings stayed that way for a long time.
Embry too was sat unbeknownst to anyone on his own porch. He wasn't clutching coffee he was in fact clutching a litre of iced water and some aspirin so when his mother came out of the house ten minutes after he was he managed to pass it to her.
"I love you son"
"Can I have that on a record for when I next do something stupid?"
She eyed him from the side of her eye and he grinned. Her hand came out and brushed down his face and he yanked away before she could get to his hair which was arguably the most important thing to date.
"I was thinking"
"Always a course for alarm"
"Thank you mother"
She stuck her tongue out and he grinned at her. Sometimes his mother was like his big sister. He didn't mean that in a bad way it was just the way it was sometimes with her. And last night when he had staggered though the house to see her sat there her hands over her mouth watching him as if he would disappear and later when he woke up to see her sat on the floor of his bedroom watching him as if he would disappear he found that he had more sympathy than he would ever have thought he had for parents all over the reservation that didn't know what they had nearly lost tonight.
"I was thinking" he said pulling himself out of the mental probe. "I was thinking that I might pop over to Billy's later and spend some time there. You know…get to know…get to know the surroundings so to speak. Get to know my Dad and my half-sister and…I mean there's a very good chance that they might not want to spend time with me but…but I decided something while those vampires were chalking out which one of us they wanted to kill…I decided that I wasn't going to wait to ask permission anymore. I want to get to know him Mom and to be fair to the fucker I think he wants to get to know me. But…but if you don't want that then that is fine, cause your my Mom and that matters more than anything else in the world to me"
He finished his speech worrying his bottom lip to shreds and yet somehow feeling more mature than he had ever done before. This conversation had been a long time coming and he suspected that deep down his mother had known that.
After all, his mother had more intelligence than the average person hands down…Embry had known this face since the age of ten.
"Darling" his Mom said finally. "You do whatever you think is right. I don't know what Billy and I look like in this mad world post you all nearly dying for the third time but I know that I want you to be happy. And if this is how you think you can be happy then you go and snatch it with your bare hands because happiness is no guarantee in life and I don't care what kind of immortal you might be. So if you want a relationship with Billy then you go and get it. I never said that you couldn't. I would never say that you couldn't…all I have ever wanted is for you to be happy"
Embry dragged a hand down his face as if to feign exhaustion rather than tears though he suspected that she knew the difference hands down. She was his mother after all and so when he rested his head on her shoulder and closed his eyes again she was there, the constant, steady, supporting presence in his life that she had always been.
They stayed like that for a long time.
"I am going to stop transforming" Leah said to Jake the next morning. "I get that this puts you in a difficult position but you have Quill and you have Embry and you have Seth and it's gonna take time so I don't know how long it will take for me to stop officially being part of your pack but you have beta's to take over after me so—"
"Yeah I figured as much" Jake said as he stuffed a wedge of cinnamon bun in his mouth. Leah sighed. She had gone over to the Cullens and her mother had joined her which had been a first. Her mother had come home from that wedding gone in the bath and had not come out for an hour despite the fact that there was no way she could smell the same smell on her skin that her children could.
Leah sighed again watching him stuff another cinnamon bun down his throat and she was aware that the Cullens were sat in the living room. She dropped into a seat next to Jake and then…
"Do you think everything will go back to normal?"
"You me with the Volturi?"
"I meant me! Is there a chair I could talk too?"
Jacob shot her a look that said that he didn't get the joke and was just as confused as he ever was. The corner of Edward Cullen's mouth lifted upwards and Leah hated that he had found something amusing.
Pretentious dickhead she thought viciously and she got another bright smile. Seriously…he was pushing it a bit more than his wife did and that was saying something.
"Hello Leah"
"Hello Nessie"
Nessie had to talk around Leah mainly because Leah did not want her gift flaunted in her face. She didn't like the fact that every leach in the joint could do something special—besides—if the deal was to raise Nessie as normal as they could they had better get her used to talking like the half human that she was.
So there vampire she thought viciously.
Of course at this point, this was the point Edward Cullen ignored her.
Typical vampire.
Leah sighed staring at the plate of food as the door came in and Embry came in with a "Hi Mrs C, Mom says thanks for that beef stew recipe thing—"
"Well you tell your mother thank you for that chicken pot pie recipe. I never knew how refreshing it was to make pastry from scratch. Hello Quill, it's lovely to see you again"
Quill jerked his head in a hello. He had managed to get through breakfast with the Cullens in one piece and he was warming up to Esme simply because Esme Cullen didn't let go when she had her eye on the prize and the prize was making all of the wolves love her.
Embry sat down next to her and kissed her on the cheek. Seth gagged from where he was watching the game with Emmett in the next room. Leah flipped a finger in the vicinity and then she picked up a cinnamon bun and stuck a mouthful in her trap.
For a second the entire pack of wolves were stunned. Esme Cullen beamed, her husband perhaps sensing how happy she was beamed too. Leah rolled her eyes. Just because she was eating the food doesn't mean that she was going to show how much she enjoyed it.
She had standards after all.
And then Edward Cullen's voice floated into the kitchen.
"Nessie who taught you how to make that hand gesture?"
Leah grinned in victory.
Cinnamon buns had never tasted so sweet.
And neither had revenge.
And there you go, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I will bring you the next one sooner rather than later.
Next Chapter-THE FINAL CHAPTER!-Embry and Leah in the sometime near future. Potentially shorter chapter.
