Chrom wiped the rain out of his eyes as the Shepherds ran through the Midmire. He had been worried for a moment when that witch Aversa had summoned those Risen, but Reflet's crazy stunt had ensured Emmeryn's survival and the Shepherd's victory.

He was half tempted to kiss her for it. Maybe he would have, if the War Monk they'd met during the battle, Libra, hadn't been carrying her barely conscious form.

Of course, the day was not without losses. Captain Phila had been the only Pegasus Knight to survive the battle, not counting Sumia and Cordelia. The Shepherds were now effectively all that remained of Ylisse's standing military, aside from the knights and militia who remained at Ylisstol or in the service of other nobles from around the Halidom.

On top of that, Reflet had likely given herself magic sickness, which happened when a person used up all the magic in their body. She would be exhausted and lethargic for several days until her reserves could build back up.

Thankfully, the Shepherds made it through the Midmire uninterrupted and quickly met up with Khan Basilio's extraction team. Once they were out of Plegia, they would meet up with Phila and Emmeryn in Regna Ferox to ensure Emmeryn's safety before marching back to Ylisstol to prepare their defences for the coming Plegian invasion.

"This time, they won't find the city so easy to breach," Chrom promised himself. For daring to hurt his family, Chrom was going to personally ensure Gangrel knew the taste of Falchion's blade.
