YOU.
I remained seating at the edge of the wood separating our cabin's genkan, from the rest of it, which is the place where we eat, we sleep, and in which now is the cradle we have prepared for you. Your father has gone for some fresh water for my feet to be in. These days they swell slightly for some reason and the fresh water does them some good.
I smile when you move, and I groan a bit, taking advantage of your father not being here. I haven't told him your movements sometimes hurt a little, I know you don't want to cause me harm, is just that there is a part of you that's just like him, your fortitude and dynamism, and at this hour of the day it seems as if you wake up and manifest them, full of yearning.
I caress my belly at the place one of your feet has decided to press against with force, as if you wanted to make way to get out and see the world.
"Don't worry, you'll soon be between our arms."
I caress you, through my own body, feeling the huge love you wake in me, and trying to placate my deep fear of losing you. My lips thin in a gesture destined to hold back the tears peeking through my eyes, and I take in a breath.
"I can't assure you of the beautiful world I want for you, yet I'll always veil for your well-being. And your father... oh, let me tell you about your father.
Emotion takes over me, and I continue with the caress over my belly, and words.
"Your father is the most marvelous being I've ever met. He is strong, brave, determined and tenacious."
I smile, and the emotion rises in the moment I noticed how you've relaxed inside my womb. I can't help dreaming about the days in which you'll stare at me with attention, as I tell you about the feats he and I shared.
"However, try not to cry too much if you don't want your strength to turn into regret and anxiety; your father is very sensitive, despite trying to conceal that aspect of his which is the one I most love. He won't allow anything to happen to you, you are the most important thing to us."
I sigh when I feel the pressure of fear install itself inside my chest.
"I won't ask who you are talking to." Your father crosses the door with two buckets of fresh water.
"You don't need to." I answer him, as he leaves the buckets on the floor and gets close to us.
"What are you telling her?" He bents and places a hand over my belly, to feel you.
"I tell her more or less what you tell her." I know he speaks to you when he believes I'm still sleeping.
"Those are private conversations between us." He brushes one of my locks back behind my ear, in a close gesture which links us, always.
"I know, that's why I don't intervene." I smile at him to calm that restless heart he has, which beats stronger every time he shows his beautiful world of feelings.
"She is calm." He states, and continues with his caress over my belly, caressing us.
"She is." I confirm.
You always are when he talks about you.
A/N
The initial idea was to talk about the strength Moroha had while inside the womb, I believe it must have been higher than what a normal human baby would have. However, I ended up creating this moment, and I liked it.
Thanks for reading and keeping me company,
