MUGEN

Sublime

.

The wind gently caresses your hair, waving through each dark strand with invisible fingers, and in delight. I can't blame it; I myself haven often gotten lost between them, enjoying their scent and caressing those long locks that curl right at the end. You keep your chin slightly up, and your eyes closed, shutting your senses to perceive each and every ray of daylight slipping through the bamboo leaves of this forest you love so much.

I admire you, there, in silence, recalling the many shades composing you; delicate, strong, bright like when one is besotted by love, and deeply dark when the world seems to shrink around you. In moments like those is when I recall this place allows you to unfold, it reconciles you with everything that seems to be wrong, even if for an instant. And now, when you finally find balance within yourself once again, an exquisite sublime calm shines through, surrounds you, then turns you into an almost ethereal creature, a ferocious opposite to the one who was kissing me but a moment ago.

While unable to take my eyes off you, with my back against a bamboo's trunk, I observe and note how the sunlight seems to seek its way through the branches and leaves, furtive, just to reach you. It touches your forehead, cheeks and lips, flashing against your light skin. My gaze traces your features, and I descend through the long curve of your neck until it fades, giving way to your chest, and the way it swells.

At this moment I allow my lips to part, then drink a deep mouthful of air. You are covered by my red kosode, and to be aware of your naked body underneath it, the feel of the firm cloth against your skin, is what kindles me without previous thought. I've left it to you after we made love on a bed we improvised with the fallen leaves of the bamboo trees, and I'll never tire of thinking it is you who really makes it shine.

You open your eyes, then look at me. It seems the sheer force of my sensations has not gone unnoticed; I should never forget how perceptive you are. Your expression is serene, and gentle, as a new gust of wind strokes your hair. You laugh then, as if you could hear it telling you stories about some other places.

"Kagome" I mutter your name.

I move to you then, shortening the distance, filling my senses with your scent and the touch of the strands of your hair, intertwined now between my fingers. I carefully observe your eyes, your cheeks, your lips, up close, as they are caressed by the sun, sneaky, and it's in that moment when I decide to kiss you, amidst that placid bamboo forest, in whose trunks now resound the beat of our hearts. I kiss your neck, then the place where its curves and gives way to your chest, revealing the soft skin underneath the firm cloth of the kosode, giving the wind now a new story to tell.

A/N

A moment, a view, an emotion.

I hope you've enjoyed it.
