I will do my best not to abandon this story, and I appreciate all the kind words.

The reviews for the last chapter were interesting. There will be no lemon between Atlanna and Minato, as the lemons will be reserved for Naruto and his woman/women. This chapter is one of parting, oh, such sweet sorrow. And after this chapter, things are going to pick up fast. Without further ado, let us begin.

Chapter Two- Parting is Painful

The soft chirping of the birds and the morning glow of the sun's rays helped an Atlantean princess to slowly open her eyes as she bit her lip and savored the delicious ache between her legs. She looked around for a moment in the dimly lit bedroom and almost pinched herself as she realized that what she did with her blonde lover was real and true.

She sighed softly as she watched his chest rise up and down, as he was completely naked from head to toe with not even a sheet covering him. She bit her lip gently as she kept herself from blushing a maiden as she stared and savored the look of his powerful body that was over and under her throughout their lovemaking.

She ran a hand over his stomach as she sighed gently. As she ran her hands over his body, she was reminiscing about her life on Atlantis. She was a princess, and a special kind of royalty. She was kind, compassionate, and understanding. As a child, she would often take unsupervised trips and observe the surface world for herself. She had realized that just like in Atlantis, there was good and bad on the surface, and that it should not be judged as a whole for the actions of the few.

However, even royalty were not truly free from the whims of duty, and those who were more powerful than her. While she was grateful she was not a common woman, even a woman born of royalty did not truly have all the power to do whatever she wanted. She had to marry a man named Orvax who was to be King of Atlantis, and bear him a child. It was an arranged marriage that she had no interest in.

She had risked much in escaping, and Orvax had sent soldiers after her. She had barely escaped them, but she was left wounded. Whether it was fate or dumb luck, a human man had found her and nursed her back to health. When she woke up in his quaint home by the sea, she originally thought he was an enemy. And she was surprised out of her mind when she realized how strong and powerful he was.

He had displayed skill and abilities she had never seen humans ever do. He had easily defeated her and spared her existence. When she woke up from defeat, he had fed her and they talked. This blonde man, her savior, Minato, wanted her to leave. She had revealed who she was and he did not want an army at his doorstep. He valued his privacy and the quiet.

Originally, she too wished to leave as well. However, she had come this far and she was not willing to quit anymore. She had laid into him about the fact that he could do whatever he wanted as a man, but as a woman, even royalty, she had to be subjected to fate and its whims. She told him that he could never understand her struggle. Her words were sharp and bitter, and she regretted that, but she refused to be judged for this.

Minato had calmly refuted her view of him and shared his own view of fate and destiny. He had calmly told her that she could not run from destiny or fate and that there were some things that had to be accepted. Atlanna realized that the man in front of her had gone through loss and pain and was living with his own form of suffering. He had paid a deep price for his wisdom and she regretted being so harsh in judging him.

In the end, he gave her the permission to stay in his home as long as she behaved and did not do anything foolish or funny. He even hoped that she would find love and peace one day.

And so she had lived with this man and observed the surface world in greater detail for herself. As a child, she saw bits and pieces of the surface, and did not linger to avoid detection. And as she lived among them, she realized that humans were capable of more than just destruction. They were capable of love, compassion, kindness, and great deeds. She learned to be more trustworthy and less of a judgmental person. She had hoped from the bottom of her heart that perhaps the surface and Atlantis could one day coexist with one another.

The man known as Minato was a different matter for her entirely. The two of them had settled into a routine of calm and understanding as he cooked for her and took care of her.. She talked and he listened as she learned more and more about her surroundings. Some days, she would hear him quietly sob in his sleep, as she heard about a woman named Sif and Kushina, and of the name known as Naruto and the names of other children. It filled her heart with sadness that such a good man faced such sorrow in his life.

And then she had approached him last night, naked as the day she was born as she poured her heart out to him. Though Minato asked her if she was sure she wanted to do this, she had silenced him with a soft kiss, giving him all the information he needed. Yesterday night would prove to be a night she would cherish for as long as she lived. She had no regrets in giving him her virginity.

She remembered Minato kissing her softly as his hands roamed across her bare body. Every area of skin, he touched and kissed as her body shivered. His soft touches and caresses were lighting her insides on fire as he began to knead and suck on her breasts, marking her as his own. She too responded by kissing his body all over and marking him as hers.

This foreplay continued for a good while as they wished to make this something to remember. She remembered her mate had pinned her on his bed and placed his cock on top of her entrance and let it linger there before rubbing her down there over and over. It was a form of teasing that was driving her wild with delicious agony, but Minato silenced her with a deep kiss and held her as a husband would hold his wife in bed. He sank his cock deep into her as her jaw dropped. And at last, his cock punched right through her cervix as it kissed her womb, and then he got to work.

Their first time was quick and short, yet wild and uncontrolled as Atlanna savored her first time as their emotions had consumed them. Their second time was slow and controlled as the two lovers took their time in unraveling the other; using controlled and precise movements to make the other person taste defeat. They were red-faced and exhausted, but wanted more.

The third time was more exciting as Minato and Atlanna did not hold back. The house shook a little as Minato took her against the wall, on the floor, even bent her over and savored her expressions in the mirror as her body shook and shivered under his touch.

The fourth time was sloppy, languid, yet utterly wholesome and satisfying. Minato lay in her arms that moment, his head between her breasts, his cock still within her body as she kissed his head. That night was a night to remember and one she would keep close to her heart.

With a smile, she lay herself on top of his body, taking his cock within her as she draped the blanket over their bodies. He stirred for a moment and pressed his head between her breasts as she giggled softly. She sighed in contentment as she wrapped her arms against him and went back to sleep.

The equation between both Minato and Atlanna had changed considerably. Atlanna slept and enjoyed life with her blonde lover without a care in the world. They enjoyed the simple, easy going routine that the two of them had carved out for each other and Minato's house became the center of her life. They ate together, made love to one another every day, and enjoyed the peace and serenity that quiet had brought.

No longer did Atlanna think about her previous home, in fact, she was glad and fortunate and grateful to be free. She no longer had to think about an arranged marriage or the burden and duties of being a princess. She could just be a normal woman.

Time had passed between them as slowly but surely, Minato learned more about her past. Minato had learned more about her life in Atlantis, a bit of its history, and how advanced the place was. Truthfully, he had grown fed up of war and fighting. He had hoped that one day, the surface and Atlantis could come to peaceful terms. After killing the Giants, and losing his Kushina and Naruto, he lost the taste for blood and war. He too wished for and longed for peace and hoped the world could achieve it one day.

However, when it came to his own past, he refused to speak about it. It was not that he did not trust Atlanna; he practically loved the woman. However, he was ashamed of his past, of his life as a weapon and killer. He was not sure how to ever bring up the topic of Sif, of Magni, Modi, and Thrud. And then there was Kushina and Naruto, another sore subject for him. Not to mention his life as Thor and the truth of his life as Namikaze Minato.

He did not want Atlanna to hate him or have a bad impression of him. He would be heartbroken if Atlanna left him. He had hesitated when she gently held his hand and nodded at him.

"Okay, you don't want to talk about your past right now, that's okay. I just want you to know that your past does not define you. It does not matter to me who you were back then. All that matters to me is who you are now. And when you are ready to share, I promise I will not think less of you. I will be here for you, always."

Minato had given her the biggest hug he could as Atlanna held him in her arms and stroked his hair. It felt so good to her to have him in her arms. She knew he had a difficult past, one that she knew next to nothing about, except for the fact it was sordid and painful. She did not care about that. As far as she was concerned, this man had saved her from a difficult life, and she would forever be grateful for that and the love he gave her.

Atlanna reluctantly broke the hug as she placed his hand on her stomach. He looked at her in shock, which turned into astonishment, as she gave him a tearful smile in return.

"Yes, its true. Your baby… our baby is growing inside of me." The fruit of their union was inside of her and she could not be more happy.

Minato closed his eyes. It was too soon, too soon for him to have a child again. His wounds were deep, still raw, and he was afraid of losing another loved one. He already lost so much, and this was not welcome news. He wanted to go into his room to think, and Atlanna held his hand, as he saw her unshed tears. He cursed himself for his action.

"Minato, I know you are ashamed of your past. Yet, the past does not define this child's future. We have the opportunity to do better. I know you are scared… as am I. Yet, together, I truly believe things will be okay. Our child deserves the best of us, wouldn't you say?"

"Please… don't walk away from me. I know this might not be the best of news right now, yet I promise you, this is a blessing in disguise for the both of us."

Minato simply placed his head in his wife's lap as he held her tenderly. Atlanna wiped a tear from her eye, as she gently stroked his head. As Minato placed a hand on her stomach, she grasped it firmly as she was lost in her thoughts.

"So… this is what love is; something pure and precious. This is something worth living for, something worth fighting for.

Three Years had passed since that conversation and the child of Namikaze Minato and the former Princess of Atlantis was born. The birth of his son was a scary moment for him. The birth had taken much out of Atlanna, and when he held his son, he was afraid he would drop him. Yet, all it took was one smile from his lover and he was calm. She beckoned to hold her child and as she gently cradled him, it looked as if all was right in their little world.

Minato was shocked to see that his child looked exactly like the child Kushina bore. The same blonde hair, the same blue eyes; they were the same. He had no idea if fate gave him a second chance or if he was being mocked for his failure. And before he could even think about his next words, the word Naruto emerged from his lips.

He cursed himself for saying this, but Atlanna simply gave him a look. It was a word he had muttered in his nightmares. However, something in her heart felt that this name should be her son's name. And so, she smiled at him and chose this name for her son.

"I believe it's a beautiful name. Its good and strong. Do not dwell on the past, my love. This child is our new start to life.

While Minato nodded, inwardly, he was dealing with a whole new battle. Once again, fate and destiny was playing games with him. He was determined to overcome fate and destiny. His son would have a better life, a normal life, a life free of tremendous burdens and expectations.

No longer did Atlanna think about the past and of the man she was supposed to marry. This new life she had carved out was all that mattered to her. She had never felt freer than when she was living in Atlantis. She no longer had to deal with the burden of responsibility, the worthless problems of nobility. Now, she could live like a commoner, and she loved it.

Still, things were not completely rosy. Somewhere in the back of her head was a dream and hope that her child could be the one who would unite the surface and Atlantis together, be their light in the darkness. Minato heard his lover tell their son a story about her home.

"And the trident could only be wielded by the strongest Atlantean." she said placing a three pronged fork into the hand of a teddy bear, "And it gave King Atlan mastery over the seven seas. It made him so powerful that the ocean itself became jealous and sent a terrible earthquake to destroy Atlantis." she said, causing the boy to gasp in shock.

"No!" the boy said, causing his mother to chuckle before continuing her tale.

"Oh yes my son." she nodded her head, "Down it fell, to the bottom of the ocean." she said moving the bear up and down before putting it to the floor, "But, legend has it that one day a new king will come who will use the power of the trident to put Atlantis back together again."

Needless to say, he was not happy.

"My son…"

"You mean our son…"

"If he is your son, Atlanna, then you would want what's best for him. I am his father and I know what is best for him. I don't need or want you to fill his head with delusions of grandeur. I want him to live a normal life, have a normal family. I don't need him to deal with useless future burdens.

"Minato, our child can be a bridge for both worlds, our child can be the one who unites both worlds together in harmony…"

Minato sharply interrupted her. "I don't understand where all this outpouring of love and affection is coming out for Atlantis, considering they tried to kill you. Why do you wish to fight for a brutal, petty, superstitious race?"

"Is the surface any different? Is Asgard any different? Not all the people living on the surface are good and pure, and you know that."

Minato held back his anger hearing about his home.

"I did not eavesdrop, my love. You whispered it in your nightmares. Our son is not us. Our son has the potential to be so much better. I know you are afraid of your past, but together, we can create that bright future for Naruto. He is living proof that the surface and Atlantis can coexist. His destiny…"

"My son is not destiny's puppet or yours… Princess! His life will be what he makes it."

"Do not speak to me that way, Namikaze Minato! I am his mother. You speak as if I would endanger his life."

Minato and Atlanna's foreheads were joined together. She was quite angry and hurt that he would think such things about her. Minato closed his eyes and calmed himself. He was wrong to lose his temper, and Atlanna was not deserving of it. He approached her again and gave her a hug as she returned his gesture.

I am sorry my love. I did not mean to hurt you. We are getting nowhere right now. We will talk about this later…"

Minato could not even finish his sentence when the windows and doors exploded with such sheer force that both Atlanna and Minato touched the ground. Minato's first thought was Naruto as Atlanna spoke to him.

"Go, take him."

Minato took his son and kept him out of sight in another room. He wiped his son's tears and held him close to his heart as he erected a barrier to protect him.

"Dad and Mom will come back soon, kid. You are my brave son. Hang in there."

Minato walked out of the room to see men clad in white, futuristic armor, wielding laser weapons, enter his home. Their guns were pointed at Atlanna.

"Princess Atlanna, by order of King Orvax, you are to return to Atlantis at once. Failure to comply with this order will result in us using force."

The soldier was able to say nothing else when he found himself violently tackled into a wall. Minato picked him up and broke his back against his leg as he shoved a knife coated in Lightning Release Chakra straight through his face.

"LEAVE…MY…HOME!"

Atlanna looked at the dead soldier in front of her and had made up her mind. Atlantis' memory was long and powerful… and its people refused to let her go. And she did not let that affect her. It was here that Atlanna made the decision to give up a treasure she found more worthy than any kingdom could be said to be worthy of.

With that, she immediately began her assault by spinning a powerful roundhouse and snapped two of the surrounding soldiers necks as shots from their rifles went off. Grabbing a rifle she smashed the head of another before ducking and spinning to shoot a rifle she pilfered off one the soldiers and blasted the offender through the window he broke and stepped through.

She turned in time to see Minato spin into the doorway of the stairwell and break one of the enemy's necks with a simple twist of his arms. Atlanna was in awe of her lover's speed and immense strength. The Atlanteans were not a weak bunch, and they had once warred with the Amazon race. They were stronger than human beings, yet her lover was tearing them apart like paper.

He moved with such refined grace and unleashed such raw strength, punching their heads violently into paste. He was also fast as he weaved though their attacks and responded with violent counters as he lit them on fire and electrocuted them.

"Minato! My weapon!" she called out as she jumped over a soldier and quickly twisted the man's neck and dropped him.

"Here!" Minato called out as he handed Atlanna the trident and backhanded a soldier off him and sent him flying out the house. Minato then kicked another in between the legs so hard his cry wasn't able to be heard as he flew through the various floors and out the roof of the lighthouse.

Atlanna held her spear to her forehead as her lover stood behind her. The remaining soldiers gathered their wits, but it was all for naught.

"Together, Minato!"

Atlanna thrust her spear and stabbed an attacker in the head and pulled back and spun around and chopped a hand off a soldier. Several bolts of energy filled the air and with a grunt, Atlanna struck the couch and tossed it onto a soldier and then stabbed down before she spun and stabbed another from behind as Minato crushed one head in his bare grip.

There was one soldier left, one soldier who cowered and begged for his life. Minato walked closer to him, blue energy forming in his palm as she recognized this mighty technique; the Rasengan.

"You should have left when you had the chance."

Minato thrust the Rasengan into the soldier's chest and sent him flying high into the air as he exploded in the sky, decorating the water with his flesh and blood.

Atlanna sighed in pain and grief. The battle had been won, but now, she had to make a painful decision, and she hated herself for doing it. She walked over to where her son was and held him to her heart as she sobbed.

Their two worlds were never meant to meet, and Naruto was a product of a love that never should've been.

The next day quickly came and soon found the family of three on the end of the dock overlooking the sunrise. It was not a happy one, and Minato was filled with pain, anger, and shock.

"So, in the end, you are choosing to leave. Instead of fighting, instead of trying to stay for your son… for me… you want to take the easy way out, and leave. We can go anywhere…"

Atlanna shook her head, "No. They will always find me. Next time, they'll send an army." she told him softly as she rubbed a hand through her son's hair gently as she looked at their heir, "I have to go back. It is the only way to save him." she told Minato as she took her son and gently kissed him on his head, "Save you." she said returning their son to his father as tears began to fill her eyes, "Where I come from... The sea carries our tears away." she told Minato as she wiped them off.

Minato shook off her pretty words. "I don't need you to protect me… I need you to be by my side, as my lover, as my wife, as the mother of my child. Your tears are worthless to me. When our son grows up, is this the flowery speech you will give him as well? I was wrong to fall in love with you. In the end, everything I love, dies. I don't need you. I will raise my son alone. I will give him the love you should have given him. Go back to your kingdom, and rule there with honor. I don't need you… I NEED NOTHING!"

As Minato left, he could feel Atlanna's arms around him, as she held him fiercely. She did not want to leave them, but she had no choice.

Atlanna stepped away as she spoke, "I will return to you. When it's safe. One day. Right here, at sunrise. We'll be together again." she promised her beloved with a conviction she hadn't felt in years, "You stay strong, my little prince. I'll always be with you." she told her son before once more looking at Minato, the most precious and most important thing that ever happened to her.

"Please don't ever let him forget me, okay? And I hope you won't forget me, okay?" Atlanna wiped his tears as she pressed a soft kiss to his lips.

"Its not forever. I promise you… I will return to you, Konoha no Kiroi Senko. You have made me so happy."

And as Atlanna left, she left him with these special words.

"Children grow up and eventually leave. Yet, you are the most important treasure that I have. What will always be my greatest treasure, is you, Minato. Please be happy, my love. You gave this tired, broken woman, peace. You gave this woman hope, love, and a different path. That is why I hope you will always be happy in this world, Minato. Please move on from your past, and be happy, beautiful man of yellow hair."

Minato shed a tear as Atlanna left him. Perhaps, he was meant to suffer for his sins.
