I am thinking about ideas and the next arc for this story. I am kind of stumped as to where I should go next before Naruto meets Kara. Please offer ideas when you can. Without further ado, let us begin.

Chapter Five- An Amazon and an Atlantean

Naruto's talk with his father was… enlightening to say the least. Even though he was full of power and strength, he never tested himself against his father; he was not sure if he could ever win that fight. His father, Minato, was a powerful man, full of his own secrets and old tales. Apart from that, he was his father, full of wisdom and one of the few people who could calm him down from a fool's errand.

Naruto knew his father loved his mother deeply and still held a torch for her. Despite the passing of time, his father never looked at another woman once. Naruto knew his father had his own secrets and probably had a past love or two, but his mother, Atlanna, was always on his father's mind.

Yet, Naruto was no rose-colored glasses wearing fool. He never felt the Queen of Atlantis deserved all this affection. His father and mother were not ordinary individuals. They could have fought the world, protected one another, and have a happy life together. Instead, his mother left them both to marry another man and have his child, and then got herself killed. It infuriated Naruto, but he realized that there was nothing that could be done about it.

And his father was right; wallowing in misery and holding on to anger would do nothing for him. He needed to move on and forgive, if not for anyone else, than for himself to find his own peace.

And so, he headed out to sea as he took an icy plunge and began cruising and blasting through the water at high speeds, his vision undeterred as he decided to go to a place that brought him some calm. There was a village in Iceland, an isolated village, far from any city and modern civilization's comforts and problems.

The people living in this village were young and old, a hardy bunch of individuals who looked forward to each and every day and managed to survive and eke out a future for themselves. Despite the bitter cold, they found their way to survive. Naruto was impressed by the strength of the human spirit and how it continued to endure and grow stronger and thrive.

Its why he would come to this village and quietly bring the people food and supplies. It was a quiet place that brought very little attention and it was here that he could find some measure of peace and tranquility. No one here knew him or called him the Aquaman. No one here called him hero or savior. They just saw him as a friendly man who simply did what he could to help them.

That did not stop them however from making symbols about him. Not to mention the fact that one day he caught one of them sniffing a sweater of his like it was a prized object, and singing a song that he never heard before. Honestly, he had no idea whether or not he should be honored, flattered, confused, or scared.

However, even though this village was isolated and peaceful, it did not stop people trying to find him. After all, he had an interesting past, an interesting life, and unlikely parents that had found love. His life would always attract some kind of attention; wanted or unwanted.

"You come to this village and help out its people without expecting a reward or any sort of thanks. These people seem to care about you a great deal. You know, these are one of the markings of a good king; compassion for others and for life itself."

Naruto had turned around to find a man standing on the rocks on the outskirts of the village. Naruto shook his head as he realized who it was. The man was clad in ancestral armor with strange markings. His hair was long and there was a gleam in his eyes and a smile on his face. It was Naruto's mentor from Atlantis, the man who taught him how to use a trident, or pitchfork as he referred to it affectionately.

Naruto walked forward, approaching the man with solid steps as they both shook each other's hand and gave the other a bro hug.

"It is good to see you as well, Vulko. Please tell me you have not come here telling me that I must claim my birthright. If that is what you came here for, then for the hundredth time, you will be disappointed."

Vulko smiled at his protégé. "Can I not simply come and meet my favorite student?"

"You can do that if you want."

The pair simply walked near the shore, ignoring the villagers' chatter and stares as Vuko looked around and smiled.

"I am glad to see that you are making a difference in the world, helping people, bringing smiles wherever you go. You are an inspiration to these people, Naruto."

"Hmph, I help these people because no one else does, Vulko. However, if you are looking for a real inspiration, then there is Superman, the protector of Earth, the beacon for all. And then there is Wonder Woman, Batman; hell, the entire Justice League can be used as a source of inspiration."

Vulko shook his head. "I am glad to see that you have stayed humble and mature, child. Yet, Superman cannot be everywhere, and neither can each member of the league. Someone must lookout for the "little guy" as you have so eloquently put it. And this is the quality of a hero- self sacrifice, selflessness, humility, and compassion. These are the qualities of a king."

"Why do you have to keep bringing that up, Vulko? I told you once before, I have no interest in being a King. I am from the surface. I was not raised in Atlantis and I am not from it. I have no love or care for Atlantis. My brother, Orm, is the one you should crown as king and be done with it."

"These are valid points you raise, but you are still wrong. You are a young man with an amazing pedigree, incredible, unfathomable power, and even greater anger and bitterness. Orm cannot be allowed to rule, he must never rule. If he were to become King, he would declare war upon the surface and a bloody calamity would ensue. There would be a loss of millions, and would that be a good thing?"

As Naruto pondered Vulko's words, Vulko took this as an opportunity to speak further.

"Young man, I know you are bitter and rightfully so. Atlantis and its people are not perfect at all. I understand why your mother ran away. She wanted the freedom to make her own choices and did not wish to marry a man she did not want too. I am grateful that she found love and had a child bon of love, and not duty."

"And yet, I understand why she chose to return to Atlantis and followed her duty. She wanted to protect you in her own way, and duty is the death of love. There are some things we can never escape and there are some roads that have to be travelled. In the end, she made her choice to stop a war from happening. She swallowed her bloody tears and the love she held for you and your father…"

Naruto interrupted Vulko sharply. "You must really love defending my mother. You really agree with what my mother did? She chose to abandon me and my father. She chose to abandon a man who loved her, cared for her, cherished her. She abandoned a man who saw her as the sun and stars and as the most important thing in his life. And she abandoned him to have another man's child and got killed anyway. Do you see something groundbreaking that my mother accomplished? Do you think she was right?"

Vulko shook his head sadly. "I wish I had an answer for you my child. I was not in your mother's shoes, so I cannot tell you for certain that what she did was truly right. No one can know that but her. I do not wish for you to live your life in grief and bitterness. You are a better person than that. I wish I could give you more than this, but I do not have all the answers."

"However, there is one thing you can take comfort in. Your mother got to experience love. She got to experience a joy that very few get to have."

Naruto was frustrated as he exhaled. While he was angry at this mother, Vulko and his father were right. He was holding onto this anger and it was clouding his judgment and filling his heart with bitterness. He needed to move on from this and forgive for his own sake and no one else. He decided to wisely change topics.

"Vulko, you are going to have to find someone else to be Atlantis' king. Maybe instead of a man, there could be a woman in Atlantis who could sit on the throne and unite your worlds and all that bullshit. I am looking for my own path, a path that I can be proud of. You know, do my own thing and all of that."

"There is nothing wrong with that, Naruto. Yet, I do hope you think about what I have said. Live your life, and live it well. And think about what I have said about Orm. Orm cannot be allowed to rule and he must never rule. If he gets access to unchecked power, it will be a disaster for us all."

"I will come and visit when I can."

Vulko disappeared among the waves and the mist as Naruto left the village, filled with so many unanswered questions and a new resolve. And as he left, disappearing among the waves, a mysterious figure trailed after him, with questions of her own.

Naruto left the sea and walked on dry land as he calmly walked through the forest. He realized that there was someone trailing him, someone who was powerful and strong, but also had an intimidating presence. The forest he was in was isolated and away from major human settlements and towns. If there was a fight to be had, no innocent would get caught in the crossfire.

"I have no interest in playing your games. I suggest you come out now and tell me why you are following me."

Naruto turned his head to see a cloaked figure emerge from the trees. The cloaked figure stood in the center and removed its hood as Naruto narrowed his eyes.

He recognized that face as he saw it on tv. Not to mention the iconic tiara, the colorful, shining armor, and the metal blue skirt. It was the protector of the innocent, the Wonder Woman herself.

Naruto simply smirked. "Well, color me impressed. I had no idea that I had such a reputation that I would warrant a visit from the Wonder Woman herself. Tell me, why not come to meet me in person? What is the need for this foolish game?"

The woman in front of him simply smiled and then spoke. "You could say that I am curious in a way. It has been a long time since I have seen an Atlantean. I only heard and read stories about Atlanteans, stories that talk about the Great War between our people. Much time has passed since that war."

Naruto smiled. "I am half-Atlantean, half-whatever. I got nothing to do with that petty, brutal, superstitious race. And I read stories about you Amazons. You women did some terrible things to innocent people too. So, maybe you can fuck off, and we can be cool, okay?"

Diana shook her head. "I did not come here to fight or antagonize you in any way. I just wish to talk, offer advice that I feel you need to hear."

Naruto scoffed. "And why would I listen to anything you have to say?"

"Well, its simple. I will admit, due to the history of our people, I am wary of Atlanteans. However, I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Second, you have chosen to use your abilities to help people. Even though you do not wish to be a hero, or see yourself as one, you chose to help people and that reaffirms my choice in giving you the benefit of the doubt."

"And lastly, I wish to help people. Not because it is easy, but because it is the right thing to do. I do not help people out of a need of a dark past, or motivation for vengeance, but because it is the right thing to do. Whether people hate me or not, I will always help them."

Naruto nodded. "Okay, say your peace."

Diana sighed. "I used to be like you, once upon a time. I have fought in war, seen the good and ugliness of humanity. I saw chaos, bloodshed, but I also saw people coming together to live in harmony. I once had someone that I loved with all my heart. That person was dear to me and he died. I shut myself off from the world, filled with bitterness and anger at humanity and myself. You know what they say, children judge their parents, and think they know better until they make their own mistakes. And then they lament and realize they should have listened to those who are wiser and have seen the world."

"Does this story have a point?"

"I am getting to it. I used to be angry and bitter and I closed myself off from the world. I could have helped others, make a difference, make the world a better place. And it took Superman; it took the example of another for me to realize how much time I have been wasting. You know of the Black Zero event?"

"Yes, I do."

"After that event, people wondered if Superman was really there to help people or if he was an invader. People treated him with distrust, hate, and ridicule. And instead, Superman pushes past that and does his best to help people. He does not let the past or past events define him. Instead, he does his best to keep moving forward and help, whether people like him or not. Perhaps, it is why he is called the World's greatest hero and protector. Perhaps, it is why people look to him for reassurance, knowing that there is someone out there who watches over them."

"After seeing his example, I realized that I needed to get back into the world and do what I was supposed to be doing; be an inspiration and an ideal for others. One day, I too will find love once again, and inner peace. Until then, I keep on fighting the good fight."

"Do not let your past define you, warrior. The scars that we carry do not define us. We cannot change our pasts and we are not meant to. All that we can do is endure. Do not live your life with bitterness and anger. If you are able to, forgive the one who has wronged you and move on."

Naruto seemed to contemplate her words. "It seems for all the wisdom you acquired, you had to pay a heavy price."

Diana nodded sadly. "I have. I can no longer return home, and I can never be with the man I once loved."

"You have given me a lot to think about, Princess. I will think on what you have said and I am grateful for your advice. If you ever are looking for another occupation in future, you should try being a Motivational Speaker, you have a knack for it."

Diana chuckled and Naruto could not help but feel attracted to that smile and the beauty and kindness behind it.

"I appreciate the vote of confidence, warrior."

Naruto nodded. "And I hope you find love again, and you are able to hold onto that love and keep it close."

Diana walked closer to him as she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek and placed her hands on said cheek. Naruto's eyes widened as he felt the soft touch; it was full of warmth.

"Why thank you, warrior. And, I am grateful that you took the time to listen to me. I appreciate that. I hope to see you again in the future. Please do think about what I said."

Diana walked away, disappearing in a flash of lightning. Naruto sighed. Vulko, Diana, and his father were right. He would hold onto the past no longer. It would take time, but he would forgive his mother and one day understand her choice to protect him and his father in her own way.

It would not be easy but he would be able to do it. Now, it was time to leave the forest and find his path. Maybe a new city would help him find some answers. After all, he still needed a publisher for his books.

Chapter End

Well everyone that is the chapter. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it.

Naruto has met Diana and Vulko again and gained some much needed advice. He will no longer be full of angst and mope. He is now going to move on and find his path.

If you all have any ideas on an arc or two he should be on before he reaches National City, do share, as I need some help with that.

Also, when it comes to pairing, do you think it should be single or multiple? If so, list reasons and or choices. Some want multiple, some want single, some want to see Starfire; the possibilities are endless.

Also, might do a Naruto/Game of Thrones Seasons 6-8 idea if I can. If you have ideas, do share there as well.

Stay safe and well wishes to you all and your loved ones. See you in the next story update.
