Author's Note: Hello everyone, here we are with another chapter. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it. I thank you all for your patience. And I thank all for favoriting the story, for following the story, and taking time out of your busy lives to review; it all helps.

I have been doing some pruning on my page, deleting stories that I do not have time for. This story, I have plans for it. I want it to go at least four seasons with interesting characters, plots, drama, love, and so much more. I am expanding Naruto's harem and the final list is Naruto/Kara/Lena/Diana/Sam/Maxima/Crystal the Inhuman from Marvel. Since this is the last Supergirl story I am doing, I am going all out. I will not spoil the plans yet for the last two, but things will get interesting as it involves an old marriage contract that was drawn up without Naruto's knowledge. Things will be interesting when we get to that arc or season. In this story, there will be sacrifices and drama; it is the part and parcel of life.

This chapter is about Samantha Arias and what she has been up to. And she meets someone that she cannot understand. Without further ado, let us begin.

Chapter Six- Your life is mine

The loud, shrill ringing of an alarm clock was turned off as a woman in bed huffed at the realization that it was morning. She sighed as she slowly got up out of bed and took her towels with her as she prepared for her morning rituals. She shed her clothes and opened the faucet as she let the lukewarm water cascade all over her body, shaking the cobwebs off as she mentally went through a checklist for the day's events. The shower ended as she dried herself off and started and finished a tiny skin care routine, followed by applying some makeup.

After her morning rituals, she wore her clothes and was pleasantly surprised to see her daughter awake and ready for school as she was chowing down on breakfast. She saw her daughter smile at her as she ruffled her hair slightly and kissed her head.

"Hi Ruby. Well, it seems there is a first time for everything."

"Ha ha, very funny, mom. I will have you know, even I can get ready for school without an alarm clock."

Sam gasped in mock approval and placed a hand on her heart. "Amazing, kid. Will wonders never cease?"

Ruby stuck out her tongue as Sam chuckled. "Well, I got a long day today, kid. If you are done with breakfast, we need to get going."

Sam had taken her daughter to school and began rattling off the normal questions every mother asked her child before going to school.

"You have your lunch?"

"Yes, mom."

"Your homework is done?"

"Yes, mom."

"That's my girl. I will see you later, Ruby. I hope you enjoy your day today."

"I will mom. I love you too."

Ruby gave her mother a hug and left the car as she gave her a wave and disappeared into the crowd heading inside. As she was leaving, she could not help but look at the happy families that had arrived. Children had arrived with both sets of parents and she could not help but feel ashamed and melancholic. She shed a tear at seeing a mother and father hug their child and she could not help but reminisce over the past and her actions; actions which brought her shame and sadness.

It was too early in the day to have thoughts about that particular corner of her past; a past that she was deeply ashamed of. She never regretted Ruby, she simply regretted her actions before Ruby's birth. She could only hope that this secret would die with her, as she knew there was no forgiveness for her actions.

However, that was a topic to lament over for another day.

Sam had driven herself to her place of work; a building owned by Lena Luthor herself. She had no idea she would be working for such a famous person in her life. Truth be told, she admired and cared for Lena. Lena was more than her employer. Sam had worked herself to the bone to put herself through university, and it was Lena who offered her a job and her friendship.

She knew better than to mix work and friendship together. Not to mention the fact that she was being handed an opportunity that she did not deserve over more qualified people. Yet, Lena was more than a boss for her and she would go to the ends of the earth to protect her friend. She believed in judging people for their deeds and actions, rather than their last name. She did not care that she was Lex Luthor's sister. Lena was nothing like her brother. She was someone who wanted to do genuine good for the world. Her haters could go and fuck themselves.

However, while Lena was kind and sweet, she demanded success and victory and Sam understood that well. She worked hard and never complained. And it was because of her work ethic and will, that Lena entrusted her with a high position. And this high position gave her the ability to give her child as comfortable a life as she could.

All in all, she was grateful for Lena's friendship and she could not ask for a better boss. Lena Luthor had been through her fair share of drama in life. She would always be judged for her last name, and people would always tarry her with the same brush that they did with Lex. Despite this, Lena kept moving forward, doing the best she could. After all, that was all a person could do.

"You know, I am glad you work so hard at your job. Yet, you must never neglect food, especially the good stuff. Its as good as sex."

Sam chuckled as she looked up to see Lena holding a greasy bag of what seemed like a good burger and fries. The smell was intoxicating and her stomach began to grumble at the delicious smells. Well, she had gotten most of her work done for the day and she could use a break.

"Sure, I can eat. However, as I tell my daughter, there is more to life than just junk food. I am glad she at least eats fruits and some vegetables."

Lena grumbled. "True, there is no doubt about that. Its why I have been cutting back and focusing on, dare I say it, health food. If only I could just live life on grease alone. Alas, it cannot be done."

"Oh, you poor baby. Whatever will the Big Belly Burgers of the world do when Lena Luthor is no longer a customer?"

Lena stuck out her tongue as the two shared a hearty laugh. Even though it was greasy and unhealthy, they could not help but savor the taste. After finishing their meal, the two had another conversation and it was Sam who went first.

"So, Lena Luthor, what are your big plans now that LexCorp is now your baby and you can almost do what you want?"

There was a sobering look on Lena's face as she spoke.

"Honestly, the first thing I want to do is repair the Luthor name and show the world that Lex and Lillian Luthor do not define it. LexCorp was a company that had its hand in making technology for the military as well as some other unsavory elements. I plan on changing all of that."

"LexCorp will soon have a new name, well, one day. And this company will be known as a force for good. I am going to be spending time in making a real impact in this world. I am not abandoning this country's military; the safety of every soldier that fights for this country is still paramount. However, there is more that I can do. i can invest in medicine and help to create a cure for the worst diseases out there. I can create better technology to aid the citizens of Metropolis and give a voice and home to those who need one."

"I want my legacy to be something better. No more will this company be Lex's tool to indulge in a foolish, nonsensical "vendetta" against Superman. Instead, it will be a company focused on technology, medicine, and philanthropy. And everything else, I guess."

Samantha smiled as she clapped her hands. "Nice speech, good and short."

"Well, it leaves more time for drinking."

The two shared another laugh as Sam spoke again.

"Well, if there is anyone that can do this, I think you can Lena. You have come a long way as well. And I hope your dreams come true. You did give up so much in your quest to leave behind a real legacy."

Lena was now lost in her thoughts. She did give up a great deal. She had sacrificed and turned her back on love, something that she still felt deep shame and remorse over. However, it was Lex's actions that had forced her and compelled her to change her outlook on life.

Lena sighed as she spoke. "I cannot let Lex's actions taint my family. And its sad to say, but Lex lost his faith in humanity. Did you know, Sam, that he wanted to be a hero?"

Sam raised her eyebrows. "What, really?"

"Yes, believe it or not, my brother actually wanted to be a hero. He even had his own costume and a name that was pending. Yet, for some reason, my brother gave up on heroism out of the blue and became so cynical to humanity. And then Superman showed up, someone who could do it all, but was humble, kind, and a beacon for all. My brother could not accept that. He could not accept that there could be someone out there with all those special powers, and would use them simply for good rather than to conquer the world."

"And then my brother had done the unthinkable; he had created the conditions for a red sun, and millions had died. And I was a witness to all of this, unable to do anything. After that day, when Lex went to prison, I made up my mind that things had to be different, that we Luthors could not be remembered simply by Lex's actions. We are capable of more and I owe it to myself to see that dream through. I am always going to have haters; being a Luthor means you will have them."

"Perhaps, if I can achieve my goals, maybe, I might be able to move on from what I have done…"

Sam saw that Lena was lost in her own world and her yes were reflecting a kind of sadness that she was facing. This kind of sadness was personal, and was probably a topic not worth prying into.

"Well, you got my vote, Lena. You are not like your brother, Lena. You are a good woman, no, you are a great woman. You gave me a home and a chance to prove myself. Because of you, I have been able to provide my daughter with a better life. And, you gave me unconditional friendship, and for that I will always be grateful."

Lena smiled. "Why, thank you."

"I am going to admit this, Lena. And it might be hard for you to hear, but I don't think Lex could ever be a hero. To be a hero requires selflessness and dedication. And it also requires a heavy, sometimes astronomical amount of sacrifice. I don't think your brother could ever make the sacrificial play, the choice to do the right thing."

The next thing that Sam said gave Lena food for thought. "Lex does not know the meaning of self-sacrifice. He could never be the nameless man protecting peace in the shadows. He cannot help but crave the spotlight. He could never be a true hero."

Lena raised her eyebrows. "That was quite poetic and full of impact. It eerily reminds me of someone solving the problems of others who do not have the guts to fix the problems themselves. I wonder, who told you such a thing?"

Sam closed her eyes. "The person who told me that was someone I was close too a long time ago."

Lena nodded. "I see. Is that someone, Ruby's father?"

"Lena, not this again…"

Lena raised her hands before she spoke. "I get it, I understand. It is a topic that is close to your heart and obviously, it is a topic that is also a great source of your pain. I am just asking out of curiosity. Is that man, Ruby's father? Did the two of you have a falling out in the past?"

"There is no father, Ruby needs no father. I am all she has and that is enough for her."

Lena noticed that Sam spoke these words with a bit of sadness and venom, a venom she had never sensed before. She could sense she was walking into an unknown territory and she should not have brought up such a topic.

"Forgive me. I had no right to pry. I am sorry."

Sam shook her head and sighed. "Lena, you did nothing wrong. Its not your fault. I am the one at fault. I have made mistakes that I am not proud of and one day I am going to have to pay for them. One day, Ruby will be older and she will have questions. I am just not sure if I will be able to answer them. I could not stand the fact if my child hated me."

Lena shook her head. "Are you kidding me? That kid thinks the world of you. She could never hate you. You are a good mother. I will admit, secrets and lies have a horrible way of coming out and when they do, the damage is always nasty. I promise you that when that time comes, I will be there to give you moral support. And even if Ruby is upset when you tell her the truth, she will come to forgive you. All though, when that time comes, I expect her to be really upset."

"Thanks, Captain Obvious."

Lena smiled and then shrugged. "It is what I do. It does seem that this man left quite the impact on you."

Sam blushed a bit as she spoke. "Yeah, he did."

"If its alright with you, can you tell me more about him?"

Sam nodded. "We met in high school and we just hit it off. My mom never approved of us but that did not stop us. I threw caution to the wind and we had the time of our lives. He made me happy and I made him happy."

"Can I ask what happened?"

Sam sighed in sadness as she spoke. "I got pregnant… and my mom disowned me and kicked me out. I was afraid that he would never accept me and abandon me. I... I made a mistake. I let fear and distrust cloud my judgement and I disappeared. He did not even know I was pregnant and I let me fears take over. I do not know where he is and what he is even doing. I don't know if I can be forgiven for what I did, Lena. Perhaps, there can be no forgiveness for me, only punishment."

Lena sighed. "it seems to me you have made some mistakes. I cannot imagine getting pregnant at such a young age. You did make a mistake and that mistake was you should have found the man you loved and told him the truth. It is what it is now. All we can do is learn from our mistakes and take accountability for our actions. I am not perfect as well Sam. I have screwed up too, so I am not judging you."

All though, Lena was envious of Sam that she got to experience true love and that said love gave her a child, the symbol of their love. Lena too had a chance at love but sacrificed it to pursue a noble cause. She would never say that she did not regret her choice. She had a chance at love and some days, it kept her up at night that she should have pursued love as well. Alas, she could do nothing about it now. It was time to move on and focus on the future. The man that she left behind, she wished him all the peace, happiness, and love in the world. She sincerely hoped that he would find someone who would make her happy.

She faced Sam and spoke again.

"One day, Sam, perhaps you will be able to make amends. There is no sense in dwelling on it right now and making yourself miserable. Besides, we still have more work to do. Once you are finished, you can go home and pick up your daughter from school. I will make a visit to see Ruby. I miss seeing the kid as well."

Sam smiled. "One day, I just might be able too. I am glad you will pop in for a visit. She misses you as well. You are one of her favorite people too. I will get to work. See you later, boss."

"See you later."

As Lena walked back to her office, Sam was lost in thought. There was one truth that she planned on taking with her to the grave. In her childhood, she remembered drawing these dark, malevolent symbols on the wall. Her mother forbade her from drawing them and she was defiant. Looking back, she shuddered to think what those symbols could mean, and all she knew that those symbols meant bad news.

The long day ended and Sam went to pick up her daughter. After a nice dinner and some quality mother-daughter time, Ruby went to bed as Sam performed her nighttime rituals and went to bed herself. Her conversation with Lena was weighing on her mind, and it had been the first time she had ever unburdened herself when it came to the topic of Ruby and who her father was. There were regrets she had, but it was in the past now. She had no idea where Ruby's father and she did not want the truth to come out. She was afraid of Ruby's reaction and she did not want her daughter to be taken from her.

She closed her eyes hoping tomorrow would be a better day. However, she was having difficulty falling asleep. An hour had passed and she was having trouble sleeping. She sighed as she got up and went to the kitchen for a glass of water to calm herself and made herself some chamomile tea.

However, before she could make the tea, the lights in the kitchen began to flicker on and off rapidly. She looked up and wondered what the heck was happening. She had paid the electric bill on time and it did not rain at all in the day or the night. She turned around and then screamed as she saw a cloaked figure approach her, the footsteps getting louder.

Sam was on the floor instantly, her hands on her head as she whimpered, wishing that the person would go away. The cloaked figure removed her hood and forced Sam to look at her as her eyes were as black as coals, and bright red blood dripped from her mouth. The mysterious figure laughed heartily as Sam screamed in horror again.

And then, it ended. The mysterious figure disappeared and the lights were bright as Sam got up and wiped the sweat from her face as she noticed her hands were shaking. She went to Ruby's room and saw that she was still asleep. She sighed in relief and went back to her room, and her eyes bulged in fear.

Inside of her bedroom, it was those symbols, those same blasted symbols she drew in her childhood. She had no idea why she drew them and why she drew them with such eagerness back then, but now she understood her mother's warning. These symbols were evil and they spelled bad news.

And in front of Sam's eyes, the symbols began to glow as they pulled themselves off the wall. The symbols transformed, forming a humanoid in front of Sam's eyes as she stepped back in fear. There was another glow, this time brighter and harsher, and then it ended.

Sam had to rub her eyes to make sure she truly witnessed what happened. The mysterious figure standing in front of her had now truly materialized. It was a woman. And said woman was wearing black pants, a top that had exposed her stomach and had red hair that looked like it was kissed by fire. The more striking features were her, pale, grey skin and the spiky armor covering her right shoulder. The mysterious figure cracked her neck and then smiled at Sam.

"Well, it has been a long time, but I am finally able to talk to you now. And I have to say, I am not impressed. All I see is weakness, and I hate weakness." The mysterious figure spoke and it sent chills down Sam's spine.

"You, you cannot be real. You are just a figment of my mind… this cannot be happening…"

The mysterious figure shook her head in annoyance. "Out of all the people in existence, I am stuck with you. Listen brat, I am real and I am not a figment of your imagination. I am the dream, the ideal, the one who will dispense justice upon those that practice evil. Well, that's supposed to be the gist of it, I guess."

Sam shook her head. "No, there's no way that's possible. I am not an alien; I am a human being. I am a good person and I have a daughter."

"You have things that do not belong to you. They belong to me. Your child is my child, and she inherited my power and will. And she inherited greater power from the guy that knocked me up. You know, I got to say, there is something special about that guy. I mean, a normal dude trying to knock me up, his dick would have been crushed. Yet, that guy, he went all the way and then some. I got to say, I miss that guy a lot. I should go find him soon enough."

And now, it was Sam's turn to feel something other than fear. "Ruby is not your child, she is mine. And how dare you speak of Naruto like that, like he is your possession. You think he would ever like an abomination like you!"

The mysterious figure smiled and unleashed a speed that Sam never believed was possible. Sam yelped as her hair was yanked hard, and she was forced to her knees as she glared at the stranger. The stranger glared at her and she could see death in her eyes. Cold sweat began pouring down her skin, and she looked into the stranger's face and saw her own death and it was terrifying. She wanted to scream, to sob, but she was unable to in the face of death.

"Finally, the brat realizes where she belongs; on her fucking knees. You covet things that you do not deserve. You have no idea who Naruto is. I know who he is. He is a man of action, focus, and will. And he possesses more power in his fingernails than you do in your entire body. He is the only man who is worthy of me."

Sam was confused. Naruto was a human being, not an alien with powers. However, with the smile that the mysterious woman was giving her, she had no idea what to think and believe now.

"There is no need for you use your head to think, because you will never be able to understand. I am what you should have been. I should have manifested the day you were of age. Something unfortunate, something that I do not understand held me back. Well, it seems that problem will soon disappear, isn't that right Sammy?"

Sam was scared but she would never give in. "I don't know what you are. I will tell you this, however. You will never take my child from me. I gave birth to her, I have cared for her, nurtured her, cherished and protected her. And the only way you will ever take my child from me is by stepping over my corpse."

The mysterious individual laughed again. "I admire your fire. It means nothing to me. Think for a moment, do you truly deserve that child? Do you truly deserve a happy family?"

The mysterious individual let Sam's hair go, as she was at a loss for words.

"All you are doing is talking about what you want to protect and how Ruby is your child. In the end, you have never deserved her. You chose to keep a child from his father, and you shattered your bond with him with all of your lies. And now, you feel guilty and remorseful after everything you did? You made the decision for Ruby that she should never have a father? What gives garbage like you the right to do such a thing?"

Sam was shaking her head. "No, you are… you are wrong… I never meant to…"

The woman chuckled and Sam could feel how cold and venomous her chuckle sounded.

"You can never be forgiven for what you have done, human. Your sins and your mistakes are not deserving of a reward. They are only deserving of a strict and severe punishment, which I will deliver to you one day. One day, you will suffer as you have led others to suffer. On that day, you will realize your mistakes."

Sam looked at her, pale and sick. "What… what are you?"

"I have not really thought about it yet. I guess I can leave you with some information. I am your reckoning and your end. I am your judge, jury, and executioner. I have come to end the borrowed time you have been living on."

"My time to rule and dispense justice has not come yet. Soon enough, that precious time will arrive and I will do what is to be done. I will ruin your life and take away everything you have held dear. I will take from you your friends, your daughter, and the man you love. And when your life is ashes… you will not be allowed to die. I will keep you as my pet and prisoner as the world goes on and savor your misery and suffering."

Sam looked at her in shock and snarled. "You… you are nothing but pure evil!"

"And you my dear are the worst kind of person. You are the kind who justifies the horrible actions she has done, knowing they were still wrong. In the end, we are both evil. Yet, only one of us owns how evil she truly is. You pain has just begin. You will live your life in fear waiting for the day I come for you and all you hold dear."

Sam woke up from her dream, screaming and panting. She had woken up in a cold sweat and she was drenched. She shivered and took deep breaths as she looked at the walls. There was no writing on them. She tried her best to calm herself but to no avail. And then, Ruby came into her room, worried as she looked at her mother with concern.

"Mom, is everything okay?"

Sam said nothing as she held her daughter to her heart. Ruby hugged her mother wondering what had happened.

"It's okay mom, you probably had a nightmare. Nightmares are not real."

Sam said nothing as she cried silently holding her daughter. Ruby was hers and hers alone. No matter her mistakes and sins, she would fight the world to keep her daughter safe.

Yet, she could not ignore the cruel laughter running through her head.

Chapter End

Well, everyone, that is the chapter. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it. Once again, I thank you all for your support and reviews. It all helps.

I would like to explain the next event for this story. I will be starting a pre-season 1 arc that focuses on Black Manta and his quest for vengeance. He will make his move against Naruto and be recruited by Orm to act against his brother and kill him. Let's see how that goes.

After that arc is complete, we will move on to a modified version of season 1 which I will hope you love. One thing to say in this story is that sacrifice and making the decisions you do not like go hand in hand. Naruto will have to do things he does not like, and make sacrifices he does not want to make, but when his identity is known, he will realize that he cannot simply live for himself. I look forward to writing that season and arc when that time comes, as I am experimenting with new things. This story might end up going four seasons.

Lena and Sam have made decisions of their own and have had to make hard choices. We will see what they got in return.

If you have any questions to ask, ask them in the reviews or send me a PM. I am happy to talk. Ultimately, I will write the story I want to write.

And the last thing to share is life is getting hectic now. I am searching hard for a good second job, or a better, permanent one. I have to decide which stories to continue, and which to delete and discard. I apologize for this, but I have much in the pipeline. I hope you can understand.

See you all in the next story update. Stay safe and well wishes to you and your loved ones. I hope you all have a great summer and a greater 2023.
