AN: This chapter is brought to you by my awkward sleep schedule and 4 AM Mac and Cheese. I hope you enjoy the chapter!
PS. Somehow, I wrote, and this got to like 7000 words, dang! Still trying to feel out length, not sure if this chapter is too long or not, let me know what you think
sardarhassan503: Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the ideas. I definitely want to make more Kamen Rider x MHA fics, and any ideas get me thinking. Izuku as Philip is an avenue I didn't consider when I conceptualize MHA fic, I'll think about that.
Light Hero Kaiser: Hope you didn't wait too long, here's the next chapter :)
LegionnaireBlaze: I am having an internal debate on whether I use Recsue Kenzan! or not, I probably will as there is no better word I can think of as Kenzan means sword mountain and actual kenzans are also called spike frogs, neither roll of the tongue as good as Kenzan
Dragon and Sword Master: Glad you understood why Izuku was so focused on Hawk-Gatling, you hit the nail on the head there.
ahein9937: I completely agree with everything you said, hope you enjoy the chapter. Ciao!
Blazinggen1: I responded more properly on A03, so I'll be brief here. I associate Doctor-Game with the ExAid Legend Rider more than the video game exclusive Best Match so I'm hesitant to use that one unlike actual unused ones like Dinosaur-F1. Glad Water Hose made sense. I hope I did Knockout some justice. All Might and Melissa are about the same, Izuku has had very few if any direct interactions with All Might, I'll explain more when All Might is actually introduced in the story. Kinda funny how we are almost 10 chapters in and still no All Might at all past a very brief reference to Uncle Might I believe.
CCSakuraforever: Izuku is still inexperienced, he is only 14 at this time with very little proper training. He easily got captivated by the appeal of a Best Match, but still has room to learn from his mistakes. I hope I got that across. Water Hose is surprisingly fun to use in this story as they have almost nothing known about them canonically. Glad you enjoyed the chapter (sorry I couldn't write this translated)
Ed: HPSC isn't directly evil in this, I've been trying to make that clear, sorry if it wasn't. Sure, there may be some bad eggs here and there but overall, they are good. And to your other question, eh, eventually. We got plenty of time to cover.
James Birdsong: Glad you are enjoying this!

Izuku woke up to white walls and Melissa and Inko both staring attentively at him, slowly sitting up he slowly smiled, and softly spoke "Morning Mom, morning Melissa"
"IZU! / IZUKU!" both Melissa and Inko shout
Inko quickly rushed over and pulled Izuku into a hug, tears pouring down her face. "My baby boy, I am so glad you woke up, we didn't know what happened after you left the robbery and the next thing we know I'm getting a call from the commissioner telling me what your hospital room is"
Izuku's eyes widened, and he attempted to return his mother's hug, only to be stopped by the sling that held his right arm, so he patted her back with his left and spoke: "I'm sorry to have worried you, but hey I'm alive and nobody died"
Inko pulled back to look at Izuku face to face "I know you are alive, but I am your mother, I worry. And hearing that you were hospitalized, not even to mention the injuries you sustained, I can't help but fear for your safety"
Izuku looked at Melissa who held a similar amount of worry on her face, then turned back to his mother and said "I'm sorry, both of you, I am sorry to have worried you two. If I wasn't so caught up in my own head maybe the injuries could have been lessened"
Melissa sighed and shook her head "Trust me, we all wish you didn't get caught up in your Best Match fervor, and I know that none of us like that you got hurt, but now you remember your best strength, and have this as a learning experience. So, look at the silver lining Izu"
Izuku looked down and mumbled "I guess. Still feel bad for worrying you"
Inko turned Izuku's head to face her and gave him a genuine smile, tears still clinging to her eyes "Every time you go out, we will worry, but I know that we couldn't stop you no matter how hard I try. You are my son, my precious baby boy, and a hero in all but license. Just promise me that you will keep trying to come back home, ok?"
Izuku smiled, tears threatening to fall from his eyes "I think I can do that"
The mother and son embraced in another hug, eventually dragging Melissa in so that it was one big group hug. The three eventually broke into small talk, Izuku recounting the entire mission, Inko smiling seeing the joy on Izuku's face as he gushed about the heroes he worked with, and Melissa following along glancing at her bag on the floor before returning her attention to Izuku. This continued until a knock on the doorframe caught the attention of the three.
"I hope we aren't interrupting anything" Nagant spoke walking in with Hawks following behind.
"Hope you don't mind the party, little bird" Hawks said smirking "Glad to know my words of wisdom eventually got through to you"
"Don't you mean Nagant's words of wisdom" Izuku said with a smirk
Hawks sputtered "I-I, you, dang it. C'mon I was the one who said it to you"
The room broke into small laughter before Inko spoke up "Not that I am mad about you two visiting, but may I ask why you dropped in?"
Nodding, Nagant spoke up "Of course, Mrs. Midoriya. We are here to give you a quick after mission report, a report of your injuries, and your next task"
Inko tensed at the mention of another task, while Melissa clenched her fist and stood up raising her voice slightly, "Izu is in no condition to do any sort of work right now, what are you thinking?"
Raising a hand motioning Melissa to wait Nagant resumed "I'll start with the task then. Izuku as of now and until you are properly cleared from the doctor you are hereby taken off combat duty, for the next week you are to rest, no training, no combat, no patrols. Feel free to work in the lab, just don't strain your body"
Melissa and Inko breathed a sigh of relief hearing that Izuku was given time to properly recover
"After that week, we have managed to coordinate a second meeting with Recovery Girl to finish healing any injuries that may remain, however her condition for the second session was to have you avoid using your injured arm and leg as much as possible following her second session" Nagant continued
"Second session? When was the first" Izuku chimed in
"Yesterday, while you were unconscious, sorry about letting her know you are Build by the way" Hawks responded "Don't worry, she promised not to tell anybody about it. We had to tell her because she demanded to know how you got so injured"
Sighing, Izuku said "I mean, there are worse people to let know, at least we have a doctor who knows who I am now. Alright, what else Nagant?"
"I'll give you the injury debrief next: broken right arm, sprained ankle, bruised ribs, joint fracture on your right wrist, and several small cuts, scrapes, and bruises across your body. The armor did its job well without it you would have most likely died."
Noticing the tension, Hawks spoke up "Wow, way to bring the room down Nagant. I mean hey, it worked well, and our fledgling hero here kicked robot ass"
Nodding, Nagant continued "Yes, he did good. I merely meant to acknowledge the role the armor played in saving his life. I suppose I will cover what happened after the mission. After you were loaded into one of our ambulances you were taken here, we believed you passed out due to a combination of the adrenaline wearing off and the painkillers we had you take. After ensuring your life was at no risk, which it never was after the fight, you were placed here in one of the HPSC private medical facilities we have across Japan. The commissioner called Recovery Girl to treat the major injuries, namely your arm, leg, and ribs. She brought them to a state where surgery should not be needed, however you lacked the energy to fully recover, hence the second meeting being scheduled"
"Private facilities?" Izuku questioned
"Basically a hospital for heroes, help keep them separated from the public, we have our own staff and several heroes with healing or regenerative quirks on speed dial to make sure heroes can get proper care and get back into action as soon as they can" Hawks said
"That's pretty cool" Izuku replied "So, what happens to me now?"
Inko smiled and spoke in a soft but firm voice "Now you rest, you heard the heroes, no combat, no training, no patrols. If you need to be busy, I'm sure we can find something for you to do, Melissa and I packed a small bag full of your stuff that you could do while you're here"
Hawks nodded and followed "Your mom is right, little bird. You've done the fight, now it's time for the recovery that follows. Overflow has been made aware of your medical state and won't take you back with him until you are medically cleared."
"Izu is still working with Overflow, I thought it was just for that one case" Melissa asked
"Fires still happen, Build's official mission is to assist Overflow during the duration of Surge's maternity leave. However, now it should be much more rescue focused and Build will perform the intended task we had when we assigned him, fighting fires and rescuing civilians." Nagant spoke
A small smile grew onto Inko's face before she spoke "So, you are keeping him away from danger"
"Heroics is always dangerous Mrs. Midoriya; however, we are keeping Build active while placing him in a scenario with less combat." Nagant responded
"Don't worry ma'am, we understand both how strong your son is, but also acknowledge his inexperience. So, we don't plan on sending him on solo missions anytime soon, but he only gains so much with me and Nagant here kicking his butt" Hawks smirked
"HEY!" Izuku shouted, as the rest of the room broke into laughter with Izuku eventually joining.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – One Week Later – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Izuku woke up on the couch in his house, his arm in a sling but his leg had been freed. He looked around the room, hearing his mother in the kitchen and Melissa tinkering with something while sitting on another chair. "Dang it, I missed Recovery Girl, didn't I"?
Not looking up from what she was doing, Melissa responded "Yeah, however she informed us of her orders. She said to avoid using your arm and leg for combat for a few weeks. Your left arm is fully cleared, so try to use that more"
"Whelp, I've always needed an excuse for more practice with my left"
"Ah yes, your goal of being ambidextrous so you can fill out two notebooks at once"
"Hey! Versatility is my strong point; I should be good with both my hands in case something like this happens again"
Melissa sighed "How is that the first smart thing you've said since getting injured"
Izuku huffed "I say plenty of smart things, not everyone can appreciate my type of genius"
Melissa smiled "Ahh, there's the shrub I know and love, glad to see that getting hospitalized wasn't enough to tone down the confidence"
Izuku laughed "As if! If anything, I have more confidence now that I've learned from my mistake"
Rolling her eyes, Melissa let out a chuckle and looked at Izuku "But in all seriousness Izu, glad to know you're ok. I-We, your mother and I were worried once the press lost sight of you."
Izuku gave her a soft smile "Don't worry, I can't just leave my partner like that, we are a team after all" He then looked down to the gadget she was working on. "So, what do you got there Mel?"
Melissa smiled and picked up her device, revealing a silver one handed firearm. "I present you the firearm for the gatling bottle, name still pending" She gave the gun a spin, causing the barrels of the gun to spin in tandem. "The fact that the gatling bottle can generate ammunition means that we can afford to have a high fire rate and attempt to rely on the ammo generation to keep up. Of course, we still need to test it, and make sure the nanobots can reconstruct it and-" She began to ramble on about all the testing and revisions that needed to be done before Inko walked in, breaking Melissa out of her ramble with a chuckle.
"I swear, the fact that you picked up Izuku's rambling habit is adorable Melissa" Inko said fondly
Melissa blushed and looked down "sorry, I got excited." She looked back up smiling, excitement evident on her face "But can you blame me. Technically this is our first piece of support gear that we've made. How can I not be excited"?
Izuku and Inko let out a small laugh, before Inko spoke "I can definitely tell your excited sweetie, but let's talk more over dinner, I made katsudon to celebrate Izuku coming back home today"
The two stood up and began walking before Izuku paused and cautiously asked "Speaking of that, how did I get back here"
Melissa smiled and looked Izuku dead in the eyes "Oh, Hawks carried you back. Bridal style. Guess who has blackmail"
"YOU FIENDESS!" Izuku cried
He only got a laugh in response as Melissa walked to the table.
After a nice meal, and Inko went to bed, Melissa and Izuku went down to the lab to work before they retired for the night.
"So, Izu. Which bottle do you want first?" She said, holding her hands behind her back, facing him.
"What? Oh, right the capture bottles, I wondered where those went"
Nodding "Yup, in my right I have the villain bottle in my left I have Ingenium's, so, which one do you want revealed first"
"How did you know, who was what bottle?"
"I'm pretty sure that Ingenium's blood doesn't have a similar composition nor color to motor oil"
"Fair enough, alright, let's do Ingenium first" he said nodding with excitement
Smiling Melissa revealed a red bottle in her left hand "I present you the engine bottle" she said placing the bottle in Izuku's hand
Izuku's eyes widened "Another inorganic bottle!" he said holding it up, a bright smile across his face
"But wait, there's more" Melissa said, drawing Izuku's attention back to her as she held out another red bottle
"A race car?" Izuku started "Not the weirdest quirk to bottle transition we've had"
Melissa nodded "Fair enough, specifically the race car is a formula one, or F1 bottle, so high speeds and increased power compared to normal cars"
"Why do you know that?"
She shrugged "I had time to do some reading while you were in the hospital"
"Fair enough, let's test out some combinations then" Izuku said rushing over to the rest of the bottles, wincing slightly from the pain in his leg.
"Izu, calm down. The bottles are not going anywhere" Melissa asked.
"You try being in a hospital bed for a week with nothing to do except code and read, I can finally test some bottles"
"Once again, they aren't going anywhere, you can take it a little slower than usual."
Izuku pouted and crossed his arms a bottle already in each hand "Fine"
Izuku then put on the driver and shook the two bottles in his hands
Hedgehog! - Engine!
When no follow up was heard, Izuku pulled the Engine bottle out and replaced it with the F1 bottle
F1!
They both sighed, another dud, Izuku then picked up the fire truck bottle.
Fire Truck!
Best Match!
"Yeah! That's another Best Match, but why a fire truck and a hedgehog, hmm, based on what we know it covers both close and long range decently well, seems like a solid combination ability wise, but what abou-"
"Izu! Mutter later, we still have two more abiotics to test for matches"
"Right, right, sorry" He said, unloading the bottles from the driver "You know, we really should make a way to check these without the driver"
"Problem for later, plus that is more of a convenience than an urgency"
"So, what do you think the odds are of two best matches in a row?" He said picking up two bottles
"Izuku, we have no idea about the possible number of combinations, for all we know we may never find-"
Dinosaur! - F1!
Best Match!
Melissa went silent and looked at Izuku who had excitement growing on his face as he raised his arms and shouted "Thank the great Godzilla in the sea! WE GOT A BEST MATCH; THIS IS THE BEST!" he said jogging to the stairs
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to buy his merch, right now"
"Now? But we still have another bottle to test!"
"Can't, in too much of a good mood, walking out on a high note, I'll find a shirt for you too"
Melissa could only sigh, laugh and shake her head at her best friend's antics as he walked up to his room "And then there was one, well I can at least test this last bottle's combinations for us" She said looking back to the table of bottles "Aaand he took the driver with him. Dang it, he's two for two today, we do need a way to test without the driver" She sighed, locked up the lab and went to Izuku's room to help pick out merchandise.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Several Days Later – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Izuku and Melissa were walking into class. It was Izuku's first day back since the fight against Knockout. Melissa had helped him catch up on what he missed. Eijiro immediately spotted Izuku and ran up to him and asked him "Midobro, are you okay? Melissa said you got into a car accident"
"Glad to know you were worried Kiribro, yes, I'm fine, thank you for asking, what's going on wit-"
"MIDO!" Izuku was promptly cut off by Mina glomping him, taking them both to the ground, "Melly said you got in a car accident, are you ok? What's broken?"
Izuku looked over to Eijiro who only chuckled and gave a shrug, Izuku looked back to Mina, who was promptly sobbing. Izuku sighed and patted her head reassuringly "I'm fine Mina, my arm and leg are still recovering, but nothing is in danger. As long as I don't go punching any giant robots or anything"
Mina let out a snort and started laughing "Yeah, we still got four years before we go fighting robots Mido" she said standing back up, pulling Izuku with her in the process. "Glad to know the hospital didn't kill your sense of humor. I missed my gossip buddy"
"What about Mel or Kiri?"
Mina overdramatically huffed "They aren't as fun as you. Kiri is as dense as his quirk and Melly doesn't understand half of my slang. Plus, you actually listen to my gossip instead of just nodding along"
"Hey! I listen Mina, I just don't understand it" Kirishima attempted to defend himself
Mina looked back over to Izuku with a deadpan look "See what I mean, the group just isn't the same without you Mido"
Izuku let out a warm smile "glad to know I was missed, but don't worry. I'm back"
Kirishima held out a fist which Izuku promptly met with his own "Glad to have you back Midobro. Can't wait to get back to training with you"
Melissa spoke up "Sorry, but you are still going to have to wait, doctor's orders."
Mina looked at her three friends, gears turning in her head, before her eyes widened in realization "HAH! You three have been training for UA! And you didn't invite me"
The other three looked at each other before looking back to Mina. Melissa spoke up first "I can't speak for Kirishima, but for Izuku and myself. We didn't know you were aiming to be a hero?"
"What else would I be?" Mina questioned
"Really fun dance instructor?" Izuku chipped in
Mina looked at Izuku "See, this is why we need you Mido, because that saved you and Melly". She looked over to Kirishima "Okay Kiri, what's your excuse"
Eijiro looked at the other two, Melissa just blinked while Izuku shrugged. Kirishima breathed out and sighed "I guess I didn't want you to see me constantly getting my butt kicked by these two whenever we spar" he said hesitantly
Mina put on a very overdramatic thinking pose and leaned in towards Eijiro "hmmm, not sure if that's the reason but it is an acceptable excuse. Plus, if these two are really that good then I'm definitely joining in"
Izuku chuckled "Well at least the number will stay at three while I'm recovering"
"You're not at least coming Midobro"
Izuku waved his hand "nah, don't want any temptations. I'll probably just stick to working in the lab"
Melissa sighed "Great, now he has a reason to spend more time down there"
The four then let out a round of laughter, and the day proceeded as normal. After the school day ended the four began walking out as Izuku got a notification on his phone, checking it seeing it was from Hawks asking him to come in today he looked over to Melissa who nodded in understanding. Izuku then split off from the three finding a more secluded area, converted his phone into the Machine Builder and rode off towards headquarters.
Back with the three who were walking over to the gym, Mina spoke up first. "Where is Mido off to?"
"Probably work" Melissa responded
"He works? What does Mido do?" Mina asked. Eijiro looked over to Melissa, also wanting to know the answer.
"He helps people with their problems" she shrugged "he uses what he builds in our lab to handle a variety of problems, it was probably his boss asking him to come into work today"
Mina and Kirishima both nodded, accepting the answer.
"That's so manly of Midobro"
"Yeah, good to know Mido isn't letting his injury stop him from helping people"
Melissa smiled at her friends and thought to herself. I'm glad we met them, Izu. Even if what you are doing right now is more dangerous, the four of us will keep working towards our dream of becoming heroes. And hopefully we'll keep supporting each other along the way
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – At HPSC Headquarters – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Wearing the combination of the Rabbit and Gatling bottles, Izuku walked into the lobby of the HPSC building, he was greeted by Hawks and Overflow who were conversing with a hero who was dressed similar to a fireman. Noticing Izuku walking in, Hawks called over to him.
"And here is the hero in question. Backdraft, meet the Kamen Rider, Build." Hawks gestured between the fireman-esque hero, now known as Backdraft, and Izuku. Backdraft held out a hand which Izuku shook and nodded as a greeting.
Backdraft spoke up, facing the other three "I suppose now that everyone is here, I can now finish my explanation". He looked over to Izuku "Build to catch you up, I requested the help of Water Hose for this, and given that you are filling in while Surge is out, I was told to come here to ask for your help myself." Izuku nodded, indicating for Backdraft to continue, "Endeavor has been causing a ruckus chasing a villain, specifically his missed attacks are leading to plenty of fires for us to deal with, however we can't keep up with Endeavor's chase and stop the fires simultaneously. That's where you and Overflow come in, we want you two to effectively shadow Endeavor, giving immediate response to fires and immediate evacuations while myself and the rest of the fire department are preoccupied with his aftermath, hopefully this will give us the time we need to keep up with Endeavor's recklessness while minimizing damage"
Overflow looked at Izuku who nodded, before turning back to Backdraft responding "Obviously we'll help, however Build here can't do as much, doctors' orders"
"I can still use the fire truck, my right arm is hurt, not my left. Left is fully cleared" Izuku retorted
"Good enough for me" Backdraft stated, nodding, before bowing "Thank you both for your help, we will send you Endeavor's coordinates when he is on the move again"
Izuku chuckled "You make it sound like Endeavor is the villain we are trying to stop"
Backdraft looked at Izuku and sighed "Our perpetrator has only caused a few robberies; Endeavor is the one doing most of the damage. If we can play support, hopefully Endeavor can catch the villain and we can stop having to tail him for a bit"
Izuku stood there thinking about what he had heard, before Hawks tapped him on the shoulder "The boss wants to speak to you before you set out" he then turned to Overflow and Backdraft "We will send Build your way once we are done, just have to take care of some paperwork before we can send them back out, ya know protocol and all that"
The two heroes nodded in understanding, Hawks led Izuku towards the commissioner's office, once inside Hawks shut the door as the commissioner turned to face them.
"Build, good to see you out of the hospital, I just wanted to make sure of a few things before we send you back out"
Izuku nodded "what do want to know"
Hawks spoke up "Three things little bird: One, current update on the bottles you got would be nice. Two, are you feeling up to this mission? And three, do you understand what you did wrong on your last mission?"
Izuku sighed "To start I obtained two new bottles and discovered two more Best Matches, however of the three I have only two seem practical for most scenarios"
Hawks tensed at the mention of Best Matches before the commissioner asked a question "What do you mean by one not being practical?"
Izuku pulled out the Dinosaur and F1 bottles "These two bottles, dinosaur and F1, are a best match. However, the strength output on this one is far above what a normal person without any durability can take. Unless I'm fighting someone like Knockout, anyone would suffer extensive damage from a hit while I'm using these. That is not even mentioning the backlash I receive from this match"
Hawks looked over at Izuku "Backlash?"
Nodding Izuku continued "I believe it has to do with the potency of the bottles and my hazard level not being high enough to properly withstand it. Both of these bottles stem from mutation quirks, Melissa and I theorize that quirks that act to either mutate or transform the body in some way impact the strength of the bottle, both of these came from full body mutations and thus are the most potent case of this effect. It's why I can handle the lion and tiger bottles just fine but the dinosaur bottle by itself has a minor backlash, not enough to injure me, but enough where I'll feel it. So until I'm fully recovered I'm limiting my use of the dinosaur fullbottle and benching the dinosaur F1 best match unless it is the only option"
The other two in the room nodded, the commissioner responded "Fair enough, and personally a good call. A hero who doesn't understand their limits can't hope to break them, let alone survive long enough to even try. I assume this means you have an answer for the third question then?"
Nodding Izuku responded "Yes ma'am. I forgot my biggest strength, my versatility. I became so enamored by my first Best Match that I neglected my other options. My mistake led to not only my injuries, but the injuries suffered by Ingenium. If I didn't realize my error sooner, we could have lost several heroes and myself to Knockout instead of capturing him."
Hawks breathed out a sigh of relief "And here I thought I'd have to re teach you the lesson when you said you had two more Best Matches, glad to know you've grown fledgling"
Izuku smiled under his helmet "To answer your final question, I may not be able to fight, but I can still help. Fire truck's main functionality is on my left arm, and the biotics I have can either be used to help without the necessity of my injured arm and leg, or at the minimum enable me to use my left with greater ease. I won't say I'm fully prepared, but I am more than well enough to help."
Hawks beamed at Izuku's response, while the commissioner had a small smile grow on her face "Well then, Build, Hawks, your mission is to assist Overflow in rescuing immediate potential victims from the aftermath of Endeavor's current target. Prioritize rescue before assisting with the capture. Good luck" . The two gave a salute and walked out the door to meet up at Endeavor's current location.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – A short ride later – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Finding Endeavor was, unfortunately, an easy task. All one had to do was follow the trail of burning buildings, ambulances, and fire trucks. And much to Izuku's horror, he passed by several people being loaded into emergency vehicles on his way to catch up to Endeavor. People severely burned, people hooked up to ventilators, and even people injured most likely from debris. Izuku had to suppress a gag as he rode past them.
Over the comms Hawks spoke privately to Izuku "Not easy is it kid? This is part of the job though, being a hero, I mean. It isn't all glory and fighting bad guys, these are the injuries we should be trying to avoid"
"Endeavor did this, a hero did this" Izuku said slowly, his mind attempting to process the destruction as he rode.
"Unfortunately, that is the case, not the first time either. With a quirk like his, collateral like this happens, the best we can do is try to minimize the damage" Hawks said solemnly
Izuku's mind began racing, until a grim thought crossed it. Does Endeavor even care? That thought escaped his lips, barely audible
"Say again? Couldn't hear ya little bird"
Clearing his throat, Izuku hesitantly spoke up "Does Endeavor even care about the damage he's caused, the families he's hurt, the lives he's potentially ruined"
Hawks sighed and responded "Legally, you could say yes. He's never been publicly taken to court over the damages and pays for repairs. Outside of that, I have no idea. If there are any complaints no one has been brave enough to say them publicly, and because he has no charges on his record, HPSC can't stop him without overstepping our jurisdiction."
The conversation ended there as a wave of fire swept across the street, missing it's intended target and setting a nearby apartment aflame.
"Guess we found them" Hawks said coldly
A figure raced past the duo, redirecting Endeavor's flames away from him and up into the air, away from hitting anything. Endeavor was close behind, rage clear across his face as he sent wave after wave towards the fleeing villain. Overflow followed behind Endeavor, launching water in the immediate vicinity, dousing the fires closest to him as he tried to keep pace with the burning hero.
The villain is causing less damage, he is redirecting it so it doesn't hit anything. And Endeavor is being reckless. He needs to calm down and change tactics because this clearly isn't working. Izuku thought as he quickly got off his bike. He then looked over to the now burning apartment. First though, I have to make sure everybody there is safe. Izuku pulled out a bottle, shook it and loaded it into the driver.
Fire truck!
Are you ready?
The frames collapsed presenting Build in a full red suit of armor, the familiar fire engine nozzle adorned to his left arm and a spring granted from his rabbit half surrounding his left leg. Get in fast, fight fires, get people out. A simple plan that he was quick to begin executing. Izuku blasted water over the building, granting him entry, but some of the fire had already spread inside. As soon as the external flames had weakened, Hawks rushed into the higher floored apartments, and quickly entered and exited each apartment carrying civilians. The civilians on the lower levels were rushing out into the streets and looked back with mixed emotions as their home burned. With the external threat dealt with, Izuku rushed into the apartment, his speed slightly boosted due to the rabbit bottle. Dashing from apartment to apartment, Izuku bashed in the door, using the fire truck nozzle as a makeshift battering ram. Several civilians managed to escape using the path created by Izuku, and Izuku had made it to the final room when he heard sobbing.
Quickly busting in the door, Izuku bolted into the room to see a child crying, surrounded by flames as what appeared to be his mother held him tight to her chest, silently sobbing.
"ARE YOU OK!" Izuku shouted, rushing towards them, pouring water on anything that was on fire. Only when he got closer did Izuku notice why they were still here, the child's legs were severely burnt, and the mother was struggling to breathe. As Izuku ran over he extended the nozzle rapidly, breaking through the window in an attempt to remove more smoke from the room. Once he reached the pair he crouched down and spoke fast. "Ma'am I am going to get you two out of here, I need you to hold on to me while I carry you and your son out" The woman, whose face had burns across it, only nodded as she handed her son over to Izuku and grabbed onto his back. Izuku applied pressure to his left leg, wincing in pain as the spring triggered, enabling him to launch himself and his passengers across the room and out of the apartment. Triggering his communicator, he quickly spoke.
"Hawks! I have two injured, a mother and her child who need immediate medical attention!"
"Paramedics are already on the way, lay them down outside, I see you, I'll stay with them you move ahead and keep assisting"
Izuku only nodded as he set down the woman and her child, Hawks quickly landed beside him giving instructions to the two as Izuku began running after Endeavor, following the trail of smoking buildings left in his wake. He pulled out a bottle as he ran, shook it and loaded it into the driver.
Hawk!
Are you ready?
Build Up!
Izuku, now donning orange wings, leapt into the air and flew after the hero. Spraying water from above subduing small remnants of fires in an attempt to assist the fire department and other heroes in their rescue. He kept up this until the fires eventually stopped, no more buildings were smoking, the trail ended. Izuku looked to the ground and saw the reason. His eyes widened in shock.
There he stood, Endeavor. Standing triumphantly over the criminal he was chasing. Said criminal was severely burnt and his chest was rapidly raising and lowering, in an attempt to breathe. Izuku flew down as Overflow finished putting out another building and reached Endeavor. Landing next to Overflow, who was covered in ash, Izuku looked over to the water hero who only had a look of relief on his face. It was over. As Endeavor cuffed the burnt man, and forcefully yanked him to his feet to hand off to the police who were now arriving with reporters close behind.
"Finally, it's over," Overflow said, breathing heavily. "Finally, we can start to repair all the damage caused"
"Yup, all the fires are put out, thanks for the help you two." Backdraft sad running up to the duo "Build, I had no idea we had a winged fire truck in our ranks today" he then bowed deeply "your aid from above saved several lives today, thank you" He then turned to Overflow and bowed again "And your help was essential in minimizing damage. Overflow, in all the buildings you handled everyone inside managed to get out alive. Thank you"
"What's the final damage" Overflow asked
Releasing a breath, Backdraft spoke solemnly "Twenty-three and two. Twenty-three injured, two dead"
Izuku's breath hitched before he spoke "Who died? And how?"
Hawks then swooped in and answered "Two brothers were caught under debris when their ceiling caved in. We couldn't save them in time. But I know why you asked, the mother and her son you got out of their apartment have been loaded into an ambulance and sent to a hospital, they may be a bit burnt and inhaled a lot of smoke, but it looks like they'll make it"
Overflow sighed "Just another day for Endeavor, taking down one villain, injuring many more in the process, this is why he is stuck at number 2. He may be good at taking down villains but his collateral is way too high, he hurts more people as collateral in a day then the entire top twenty combined does in a month"
Backdraft scoffed "He gets angry way to fast, if it weren't for the money he has, his team of lawyers, and that gray area he uses to prevent any police or HPSC involvement, that piece of plastic calling him a hero wouldn't be protecting him"
The heroes continued to talk but Izuku had just stood there, thinking. Twenty-three and two constantly crossed his mind alongside everything that he had heard today. He then looked over to Endeavor who was talking with the press, proudly boasting the captor of this "menace". But it wasn't the way he spoke that caused Izuku's next action. It wasn't how Endeavor shouted how strong he was that caused Izuku to walk over to the flaming hero. No, it was his smirk. A smirk that showed nothing but pride in the takedown, regardless of how much damage that caused Izuku to stop in front of the flaming hero, stare him dead in the eyes and raise his left hand.
Smack!
Izuku had slapped Endeavor across the face, his face red where he had been slapped. Endeavor slowly looked back down to Izuku rage evident in his face.
"Who the hell do you think you ar-"
"Twenty-three and two"
Endeavor paused, confused, as the crowd around them went silent
"What did you say to me you little punk"
Izuku continued to stare Endeavor dead in the eyes before he straightened himself and spoke louder. "I said. Twenty-three and two! That is how many are injured and dead because of your chase, your rage, your recklessness today!" Each phrase Izuku said pressing a finger into Endeavor's chest "You have the gall to act all high and mighty when twenty-five people have been directly harmed by your actions, not even to mention how this affects others, their families, their lives."
"Watch what you say, kid. Who do you think you are to try and lecture me? I'm a licensed pro, the number 2 hero, who the hell do you think you are. HUH!"
"That's right, you are number 2, and a seasoned pro" Izuku started before shouting "SO WHY THE HELL WERE YOU SO DAMN RECKLESS! EVEN FROM A DISTANCE I COULD SEE THAT YOUR ATTACKS WEREN'T WORKING, BUT NO. YOU KEPT TRYING TO BLAST HIM SETTING THE LAST THIRTY BLOCKS ON FIRE"
Endeavors voice raised to match Izuku's "AND WHAT WERE YOU DOING THEN, WATCHING WHILE THE HEROES WORKED"
"NO! I WAS BUSY DOING YOUR JOB! SAVING PEOPLE AND PUTTING OUT THE FIRES YOU CAUSED!" Izuku took a breath and spoke more calmly. "So, before you lecture me about doing your job, no before you even think about being happy that the criminal is taken care of, think about the people you've hurt in the process you flaming piece of trash." Izuku said as he walked off, eventually taking flight as he went back to the HPSC building to deal with the aftermath of what he just did.
Endeavor just stood there, clenching his fist. Rage was obvious on his face and several reporters backed away out of fear in case he lashed out at them. Backdraft and Overflow stood there, their jaws dropped at what Izuku had said, while Hawks slowly had a smirk grow on his face as he put a hand to his head "Jeez kid, can't believe you actually did that" he said in awe.

A small hand began to shake as he watched the news, cackling with delight.
"Your maniacal laughter never ceases to frighten me sir" A tired voice spoke "What unlucky soul caught your eye this time"
"Oh, I wouldn't say unlucky. Afterall, they should want to have caught my attention Aizawa"
Aizawa raised an eyebrow before asking "And why should they want your attention, Nezu?"
The small chimera laughed "Because, Build is the reason that the HPSC wants a meeting with me regarding them getting a proper hero license. I didn't realize how interesting they would be"
Aizawa sighed and shook his head "Great, sounds like a problem child to me"

"-before you even think about being happy that the criminal is taken care of, think about the people you've hurt in the process you flaming piece of trash."
Izuku's words played through the speakers of a TV in a small apartment as the three people who gathered to watch it stared wide eyed at the screen.
"Holy hell! Build just layed into that flaming pile of shit! That was hilarious! What do you think, guys?" A feminine voice cheered
A second voice spoke up "In my opinion, about time someone actually spoke up. The look on his face was enjoyable, his true, vile colors showed. A true fake"
"Indeed, a fake amongst heroes" The third, older voice spoke "But what caught my eye wasn't the fake's reaction, no, it was the action of the Kamen Rider. I could hear the anger, the grief from his voice. He truly felt for those he tried to save and was willing to stand up against a fake for that. We might have a true hero in the making"
The other two's eyes widened "Another true hero, what does that mean for us boss?" The feminine voice asked.
The older voice responded "We continue your training; we must be prepared to do what is necessary. To do our part to create a society where fakes are purged, and only true heroes remain"
The other two nodded, and said in unison, their voices resolute "Yes sir!"
