Katsuki Bakugo walked down the hall with a feeling of pride, while he hadn't gotten the top score, the only ones he'd lost to were recommendation students and the annoying blond copycat, and they definitely weren't as good of fighters as he was. Those five were "allowed" to score higher, Explosion was a good quirk but training it had been limited, and it's not like causing an explosion would help him do a toe touch.

Speaking of the blonde copycat, he was the first thing Katsuki saw as he walked into the classroom. He was sitting with a shit eating grin on his face, as Bakugo went to walk past, he heard "Welcome in, number 6"

The comment caught Katsuki off guard, hadn't he gotten 5th in the tests yesterday? He spun to look back at the copycat, whose smirk widened as he pointed to the board showing the placements from yesterday. There in big bold letters was his name, Katsuki Bakugo, right next to the number 6. Katsuki then looked higher to see who dared knock him out of the top five and there he saw it, right next to fourth place Izuku Midoriya. His anger grew, and he let out a shout "WHO THE HELL IS IZUKU MIDORIYA!?"

All he got as a response was cackling from the copycat.

Eijiro and Mina walked into the classroom after parting with Izuku and Melissa earlier, and the sight, after the "logical ruse" provided to them by Aizawa-sensei, they made sure to keep an eye on the door awaiting the entry of either one of their heroics teachers. Eijiro took a look around the room and noticed that some of the students had started to form groups. Tokoyami, Yanagi, and Kuroiro, or as the purple haired kid called them "The Cult", were talking in the corner of the room. The loud blondes were a sight to behold as one of them, Monoma, was cackling while the other one, Bakugo, was glaring at the board like it had offended his entire bloodline. Taking a look at the board Eijiro smiled and thought to himself: Midobro and Melissa did so well yesterday, I can't fall behind if I want to stand by their side once we become actual pros. He then looked over to Mina, his eyes burning with determination.

"Hey, Kiri, why you looking at me like we are about to start an epic quest"

Eijiro sputtered and attempted to collect himself before speaking "Sorry, I'm just so pumped after yesterday, and seeing how well our friends did on that assessment test was really motivating, they are both so manly!"

Mina chuckled "While, 'Manly' isn't the word I'd use, yeah Mido and Melly rocked it out there, I just wish they were in homeroom with us too"

Eijiro smiled and nodded "yeah, it would be pretty cool"

"Then why don't we try to expand this little friend group of yours" A green haired girl, Setsuna said walking over, with yesterday's top scorer, Insasa close behind. "We met them during the recommended exams and were planning on staying in touch anyways. Plus we could also add Tsunotori, I'm pretty sure Midoriya "claimed" her yesterday, not too sure, my English isn't very good"

"WHATEVER IT IS, I AM EXCITED TO BECOME APART OF THIS GROUP OF FRIENDS! MIDORIYA TRULY EXUDES PLUS ULTRA SO ANY FRIENDS OF HIM ARE FRIENDS OF MINE!" Inasa proclaimed.

Mina blinked and looked at Setsuna "Is he always like this"

Setsuna sighed "If you are talking about the high energy, apparently only Midoriya has seen him not at max volume. Though, I'm partial to believing that that was just a myth"

Inasa simply beamed at his new friends.

Casual conversation continued for a few more minutes until Kan-sensei and Aizawa-sensei walked into the room. The class quickly got into their seats and classes went surprisingly normal. Homeroom went without a hitch, and the rest of the day was normal. Math, physics, biology, English, history, and other normal subjects were detailed on the syllabus and went exactly as expected, except with a pro hero as the teacher. However, the end of the day is what got everyone excited, because it was time for foundational heroics, and actual hero class.

Aizawa and Kan stood at the front of the room and addressed the class. Kan spoke first: "Now I'm sure most of you are excited for your first field heroics class"

"But we will not be your main teachers today"

The blue haired boy with glasses, Iida, spoke up "Why are you not teaching us sensei"

"BECAUSE I AM HERE! COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

The class broke into excited murmurs as the number one hero, All Might, himself burst into the room in a manner far from normal.

"NOW, NOW! I KNOW YOU YOUNG HEROES ARE EXCITED ABOUT YOUR FIRST HEROICS LESSON! AND TO GO WITH YOUR FIRST LESSON WE HAVE PREPARED THE GEAR WE HAD YOU SEND IN REQUESTS FOR TO MATCH YOUR QUIRKS!" All Might declared revealing 40 numbered cases, each corresponding to the seat numbers of the students.

Vlad King spoke up: "Please make notes regarding your current costumes, they will most likely change over the course of your studies, not to mention there may be some parts that you are unsatisfied with or now realize you want that are not included in the current design"

"THAT'S RIGHT! NOW EVERYONE HURRY AND GET CHANGED AND MEET US AT GROUND BETA!"

The students nodded, grabbed their suits and ran to the changing rooms.

All Might approached the training ground while Vlad and Eraserhead went immediately to the observation deck. As All Might approached the meeting point, he saw Izuku and Melissa talking between themselves. Hearing him approach the two looked at him and both visibly brightened.

"Uncle Might!" Melissa ran up to All Might, who scooped her up into a hug "It's so great to see you!"

"HAHA! HELLO THERE MELISSA! YES, I AM HERE! AND IT IS GREAT TO SEE YOU TOO!"

"Man, even when he is a teacher, All Might is still on brand" Izuku muttered

All Might set Melissa down and turned to Izuku. "I don't believe we have formally met, young Midoriya." All Might extended his hand.

Izuku took it and firmly shook it "True, we haven't formally met. But it is a pleasure to finally meet you face to face. I'm a big fan"

"GLAD TO HEAR IT! AND LOOK AT YOU TWO! DRESSED FOR SUCCESS I SEE!"

All Might gestured to the outfits Izuku and Melissa wore. Both wore a combination of black and gray protective padding across their vital areas. Melissa had a utility belt with several pouches and holsters, holding both her regular and grappling guns. Instead of her normal glasses, she wore a visor connected to an earpiece. Izuku also had a utility belt with noticeably less pouches, a similar visor and earpiece setup as Melissa, and he still wore his gloves on his hands, currently in the pockets of his trench coat.

The three broke into small talk, as the other students arrived onto the training grounds.

"AHA! THERE YOU ALL ARE! LOOKING LIKE HEROES! NOW THEN TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING! 2v2 BATTLES! NOW COME UP HERE AND DRAW YOUR LOTS FOR YOUR TEAMS"

Iida spoke up "Sir we have 42 Hero students how will can we do even matches?"

"SIMPLE! WE WILL HAVE TWO TEAMS OF THREE AND THEY WILL FACE OFF AGAINST EACH OTHER!"

The class began to draw lots and started to group up with their team members.

With the teams and matchups determined, everyone except for the four participating in the first match went to the control room. Melissa looked at her teammate, who looked back and gave a thumbs up to her, as they walked towards the building they'd be fighting. Once they'd picked up the bomb prop, Sero turned to Melissa and asked "So do you have a plan, I had ideas, but nothing coherent. I'm not the smartest but I try to be creative with what I've got"

"I've got a few ideas, but I'd like to know what you had in mind, I don't know our opponents' quirks so I don't know what to expect"

"Hagakure is the invisible girl, Monoma can copy quirks, who knows whose quirks he took on the way out"

"In that case, let's hide the bomb a few floors up and cover all the entrances and hallways leading up with your tape, so if anything gets broken, we'll know they're close"

"That was most of what I had in mind, but what do we do if they manage to get through?"

Melissa pulled her gun out of her holster, "Then I shoot them, don't worry I have rubber bullets for training"

"Huh, cool, well let's do our best"

After another few minutes placing the bomb on the fourth floor and taping all entrances they found, including over the vents, both students stood waiting, Sero was behind Melissa who had her gun trained on the main entrance to the room. All Might came over the intercom "The offense team has entered the building" Both students further readied themselves.

Six minutes later they heard the sound of tape being torn down, and Melissa readied herself, while also switching on her thermal scanning. Hagakure may be invisible, but she still gives off body heat. Another minute passes and suddenly the door opens, while Sero sees nothing, Melissa sees the outline of Hagakure with her goggles, and unloads six rounds at her, hitting her knees, left foot, right arm, and inadvertently hitting Monoma in the chest with one shot. Sero shot tape at Monoma, wrapping him up while Melissa ran forward and wrapped capture tape around Hagakure, doing the same to the immobilized Monoma afterwards. All Might's voice was heard again "Both members of the offense team have been captured, The Defense Team wins!"

Melissa and Sero high-fived after winning their match and went to untie Monoma and Hagakure before returning to the Observation Room. Once there All Might asked the students "So, who do you think got the MVP for that scenario?"

Momo raised her hand and answered "I believe Melissa was the MVP sir, her plan, along with her confident use of her equipment allowed her to take out Hagakure and distract Monoma for Sero to immobilize Monoma before she captured the two of them"

"Well said young Yaoyorozu," All Might replied.

"I don't know, Sero had basically the same plan as me, and it was because of him that we were ready for when they finally got to us, I just aimed and pulled the trigger"

"Blondie, you kicked ass, even if you both had the same plan, you were the one who was first to react when they burst through those doors, if it weren't for you, Hagakure might have gotten to the bomb, plus you thought of so many extra places to put the tape to improve your defense, you earned that MVP" Setsuna reassured.

"Well, shall we continue on to the next teams?" All Might asked the class.

The next match was Pony and Sato on offense, and Mina and Awase on defense. Awase used his weld quirk to seal the main door into the room where the bomb was while Mina patrolled the building. When she encountered Pony, she gracefully skated past all of Pony's horns, dissolving any that got too close and attempted to wrap her in tape. As she attempted this, she was blindsided by Sato who knocked the wind out of her, and she was wrapped in tape. Sato and Pony followed the trail of acid she left straight to Awase, who was quickly defeated after Sato broke down the door. Sato was given MVP for covering his teammate and breaking down the door.

Momo and Kaibara vs Aoyama and Kodai had a bit of a twist, Kodai had shrunk the bomb and put it in her pocket, effectively eliminating the alternate win condition. Unfortunately for the defense team, Kaibara and Momo were able to overpower them in close quarters combat and managed to capture the defense duo.

Kaminari and Juzo on offense and Koda and Shinso on defense. Koda had stayed with the bomb and surrounded it with a small army of rats and birds, while Shinso went on the prowl. The synergy between Kaminari and Juzo's quirks came into play when Kaminari unknowingly fell into the trap that was Shinso's quirk and ended up as Shinso's puppet. Over the cameras the rest of the class heard Shinso tell Kaminari: "Use your quirk on your teammate"

However, this backfired on Shinso as Kaminari let out a giant shock all around him that hit Shinso, however Juzo used his quirk to soften the ground beneath himself and dove in, resulting in the blast missing him and knocking Shinso out. Kaminari was rendered out of commission afterward as the shock shorted out his brain in the process. Juzo reappeared above ground and proceeded to soften the rest of the building, causing the bomb prop to sink down to the first floor where Juzo tagged it. "The offense team wins" Came from All Might over the intercom.

As a result of the warped nature of the building, a new building with cameras set up was selected to conclude the rest of the battle trials.

The next battle was basically over before it began, Todoroki froze the entire building the moment Setsuna and Rin entered, while both were able to break free from the ice, they were too cold to do anything, and they ended up forfeiting the match.

The next match was proof why you can't just charge straight through everything without communicating, Iida and Tetsutetsu both went straight for where Tsuyu and Camie were, when they got there, they were faced with over a dozen bombs all courtesy of Camie's quirk. Iida went for the bombs while Tetsutetsu took on Camie and Tsuyu. Despite not being strong fighters, both girls were incredibly agile, Camie casually flipped over Tetsutetsu, binding his arms with capture tape in the process. All the while Iida was just running through illusion after illusion, with no sign of the real bomb in sight. Once Tetsutetsu was dealt with Tsuyu, or rather Tsuyus surrounded Iida and easily captured him.

It was finally time for Izuku to step on stage, he was on defense with Kamakiri, as they carried the bomb to where they wanted to place it Kamakiri asked "So, you did super well in the tests yesterday, gotta ask, what's your quirk man?"

"Oh, I'm quirkless, what you saw yesterday is a result of training"

"Badass, you're even cooler than I thought"

"Thanks" Izuku replied as they set the bomb down "Now, let's talk strategy. I didn't get to see the rest of the class do their tests yesterday, and while I heard a bit from Kirishima, I'm overall in the dark about our opponents, you know what kind of quirks they have?"

"Yeah, Uraraka, the one with pink cheeks, can remove gravity from things, and Kinoko, the red one, makes mushrooms"

"Very interesting" Izuku said as a notebook and pen appeared from out of nowhere, surprising Kamakiri.

"How'd you do that?"

"How'd I do what?"

"You know what, never mind"

"Don't worry, I can see our win condition. Here's my idea: you go on offense, wait near the main entrance then patrol the halls and I'll stay here and play defense, if you find one of them, let me know so I know who might still be coming, if you find both of them, keep them there, I'll come back you up. This way we can attempt to avoid them sneaking a win by securing the bomb while also pursuing them."

"Works for me as long as I get to fight someone" Kamikiri said with a grin

With that Kamakiri left and started to get into position waiting for All Might to call the start of the match. All Might called the start of the match and less than 3 minutes later, Izuku got a message on his com, "I found both of them Midoriya, get your ass down here and join the party"

Izuku sprinted from the room, shaking the F1 and Rabbit bottles as he ran, it didn't take long for him to find Kamakiri, the walls and floor were covered in mushrooms that Kamakiri kept cutting down. Uraraka was attempting to get in close to Kamakiri, but she kept having to dodge his blades so she never could, it was obvious that her quirk required touch, based on the pads on her fingers and how she was trying to grab with her whole hand he assumed a 5 finger contact was necessary for activation. Izuku quickly took over fighting Uraraka while Kamikiri began to cut a path to Kinoko, who was surrounded by a large wall of mushrooms. Uraraka swung at Izuku but instead of dodging, he closed the distance, grabbed her by the wrist and swept her off her feet, quickly pinning her. Once the capture tape was around her wrists and ankles, All Might announced that she was captured. Izuku then turned to Kamikiri who was making progress on the mushroom wall that was constantly repairing itself. He was closing the distance, but Kinoko was slowly working her way to the stairs. Izuku noted this and began to run outside. Shaking the rabbit bottle in his hand he made a running start and jumped through the window in the floor above, he quickly ran down the stairs he shouted at Komori, who in surprise yelped and began growing Mushrooms to block Izuku. Izuku smirked, they had won. With Komori's attention diverted, Kamakiri had no trouble slicing his way to the shorter girl, he quickly delivered a roundhouse kick to her side, causing her to stagger, as he followed up by wrapping her using his own roll of capture tape. Kamikiri then cut through the remaining mushrooms and cleared a path for Izuku to exit, the two grabbed the "captured heroes" and walked out of the building, where All Might declared them the winners.

"I knew we had the winning formula," Izuku said to Kamakiri.

"No clue what that means, but good teamwork"

Izuku was given MVP for his plan and communication with Kamakiri and the next match was quickly underway. The next match had Inasa teamed up with Bondo on defense and Shiozaki and Fukidashi on offense. Fukidashi used the word crack on the walls outside the room with the bomb and Shiozaki had her vines dig through the cracks in the wall and wrap around the bomb, securing them a win.

The penultimate match had Kendo and Tokoyami on offense against Tsubaraba and Jiro. The defense team had a good plan of a large of air walls set up to prevent the offense team from making their way to the bomb. Unfortunately, that plan was thwarted by the giant black bird known as Dark Shadow, who shredded through all the air walls, leaving the duo defenseless when Tokoyami and Kendo arrived at the bomb room.

Finally, the time had come for the 3 on 3 match, Eijiro walked with Shoji and Reiko, Shoji single handedly carrying the bomb. Eijiro spoke up as they walked through the halls "Alright, let's start planning, if how Bakugo acts is any indication, he'll probably want to fight us head on, so we need to be ready to deal with him when he comes knocking. I can harden my skin, so I think I can take the brunt of his attacks"

Both of Eijiro's masked teammates nodded at this, before Eijiro channeled his time with Izuku, "Shoji, I know you have six arms, but what else can they do, and what about you Yanagi, do you have a weight limit of some kind?"

Shoji replied with a mouth on one of his arms "My arms are capable of creating duplicates of other body parts including eyes, ears, mouths, and hands, also the duplicates are enhanced compared to the originals"

"I can lift about a person's weight; I seek to improve that while I am at UA" Reiko added.

"Alright, we've got something to start, I'm gonna head out of here to try and catch them before they make it to the bomb, if I call because I'm being overwhelmed, Yanagi, you come help, Shoji, you stay here, you're our best chance at making sure nobody gets to the bomb.

Both nodded at Eijiro's plan and Eijiro walked out the door, it didn't take long after the start for Eijiro to already hear explosions headed his way. He hardened his arms and head, ready for the coming storm. Bakugo came into view shortly after, he charged at Eijiro and screamed "DIE!" as he let loose an explosion on Eijiro. Eijiro was knocked backwards, but otherwise he didn't feel the blast. Eijiro quickly recovered from the knockback and moved in to keep Bakugo occupied. Bakugo continued to blast at Eijiro, but as he did, Eijiro attacked Bakugo, using a hold that had caused him to lose so many times. Unfortunately, when Eijiro went to grab the capture tape, Ojiro rounded the corner and knocked Eijiro off of Bakugo. Eijiro was given barely enough time to tap his com allowing Shoji and Reiko to hear the sounds of a struggle before he was attacked by both Ojiro and Bakugo, he had hardened his skin so he wasn't taking damage, but the duo were wearing his stamina down. At that moment, Ojiro was suddenly covered in lavender light, then slammed repeatedly into a wall.

While Reiko took care of Ojiro, Eijiro continued to wall Bakugo, who only stopped after a beep was heard on one of his gauntlets. He trained it on Eijiro, and prepared to pull the pin when All Might came over the speaker, "Young Bakugo, stop, that blast could kill him"

Bakugo's only response was "He'll live if he dodges"

Eijiro hardened as much as he could and braced, but the force of the explosion never came, he opened his eyes to see that Reiko had used her quirk on the gauntlet and aimed it up, shooting the blast through the building, outside they could see Jurota in his beast form grappling with Shoji who had expanded his arms in a defensive wall to stop him from getting to the bomb. Suddenly a buzzer sounded, and All Might came over the speaker "Time is up, the Defense Team wins"

Bakugo's eyes visibly twitched, as he stormed out of the room, Jurota and Shoji walked in and excavated Ojiro from the hole he made through the wall when Reiko threw him. The four looked at her and Shoji spoke up "You threw him through two walls, and you want more power"

Reiko simply shrugged and walked out.

"NOW THEN, AFTER OUR FINAL MATCH LET'S DISCUSS WHO WAS MVP!"

"Depends on what you're looking for All Might" Izuku started "If we are talking about overall I'd say Kirishima for planning with everyone in mind and the observations that he made, in terms of utility Shoji was quite useful in preventing any sneak attack on the bomb while also being strong enough to hold of Jurota until time ran out, in a real scenario Shoji's role would have been invaluable. Finally, Reiko was quick to respond to Kirishima's call and was able to not only defeat Ojiro, but also redirect Bakugo's finisher, if there was more time Bakugo would have been stuck in an unfavorable 2v1 scenario where he most likely would have lost quickly"

"HAH! Who the hell are you to say I would have lost, I could have beat both those extras single handedly"

Izuku glared at Bakugo "Without your somehow approved, way too strong, hand grenades, no. Your only realistic way to take them both down there could have gotten both of them plus Ojiro who was in the debris killed, while you end up in prison. In a real scenario, that would have been excessive force, try to tone it back a bit, we are trying to be heroes after all"

Bakugo looked like he was preparing to lunge at Izuku when All Might spoke up. "W-WELL SAID YOUNG MIDORIYA! BAKUGO, PLEASE DO TRY TO LEARN SOME RESTRAINT WHILE YOU ARE HERE, THESE ARE YOUR FUTURE FELLOW PROS AFTER ALL"

With that the class concluded and Bakugo stormed out of the room, grumbling to himself.

Monoma spoke to no one in particular: "You know, I don't know if I should be surprised that our resident stick of dynamite literally has a ticking time bomb of a personality"

He got several murmurs of agreement, as the other students began to filter out and head home.

Omake

Bakugo walked into his house, threw his backpack on the couch, and walked into the kitchen where his mother was preparing dinner. "Oi, old hag! I'm home!"

"No need to shout brat!"

This was routine for them, regardless of how they spoke they both knew that they cared, aggressively and brash, but cared nonetheless.

And because they cared, Mitsuki Bakugo noticed when her son looked bothered by something. So, she asked, "Something the matter, Kat?"

"Yeah, do we know anyone named Midoriya?"

Mitsuki's eyes widened, and a smile broke out "Oh, you must mean Inko's family, we had coffee just a few weeks ago" His mother replied, going into the other room and coming back with an old photo album. "You and her son Izuku used to be so close before they moved away, what was it twelve years ago now"

Bakugo studied the picture and noticed the kid smiling next to him, the same mop of green hair, the same freckles, the smile was slightly different, but the person there was unforgettable, suddenly it all came back to him, playing like a movie in his mind. Katsuki's eyes widened and he whispered under his breath, "Deku"
