Inuyasha and Scott ventured off to explore the town and soon found themselves drawn to a tavern. The tantalizing aroma of grilled meat beckoned them inside. They chose a comfortable booth and settled in.
"Hi, my name is Sango! Is there anything in particular you lovely gentlemen are in the mood for?"
"Yes, do you have any alcohol?" Scott inquired.
"Certainly! We offer all kinds in many different varieties," Sango cheerfully responded.
"Splendid! My mate and I will take a couple of Bahama Mama's, please," Scott ordered, as Inuyasha smiled in agreement.
Sango jotted down their drink choices. "How about an appetizer? Chips with dip, mozzarella sticks?"
"Sounds perfect! We'll take both," Inuyasha replied, eyeing the menu further.
Sango nodded, "I'll get those started for you." She then headed to the kitchen.
As they waited, Scott looked over at Inuyasha with a fond smile. "Always admiring your beauty," he said, causing Inuyasha to blush.
Shifting the conversation, Scott asked, "So, what do you think of this modern version of your hometown?"
Inuyasha pondered for a moment, "It's surreal. The essence of the town remains unchanged after all these years. From the familiar scents to the quaint atmosphere, it feels like I never left. Even this tavern, while more modern, still holds its charm."
"That's quite something," Scott commented.
Sango soon returned with their drinks and appetizers. "Here you go! Ready for the main course?"
"Definitely. We'll have the steak platter, supersized," Inuyasha declared without hesitation. "Rare, with both mashed and baked potatoes. And for veggies, both grilled and steamed. Oh, and extra sides of sour cream, gravy, and butter."
"We're famished," Scott added with a chuckle.
"Got it! I'll put that order in," Sango said, departing to the kitchen.
As they snacked on their appetizers, Scott brought up an idea. "After lunch, should we head to the Higarashi shrine?"
Inuyasha nodded, "It's a special place. You'll love it."
Not long after, Sango arrived with their steaks. "Here you go, gentlemen. Need anything else?"
"Another round of chips and dip, some hot tea, and water, please," Inuyasha requested.
"Of course," Sango replied, attending to their needs.
Scott, feeling curious, posed a question to Sango, "Any local attractions you'd recommend? And directions to the Higarashi shrine?"
Sango thought for a moment, "Well, there's the Bone Eater's Well Forest. The shrine is nearby. Also, there's a ceremony tonight at the monk's temple, honoring a priestess from two millennia ago."
"Thank you, Sango. You've been a great help," Inuyasha said.
"Happy to assist. Enjoy your meal!" Sango replied with a smile.
After finishing their meal and paying the bill, Inuyasha and Scott exited the tavern. They unexpectedly ran into Ennius. "Hey! You left this in my truck," he said, handing them a cooler. "I took the liberty of filling it with fresh ice."
"Thanks, Ennius," Inuyasha expressed gratefully.
"I'm headed past the Higurashi shrine?" Ennius asked. "Want a lift?"
Scott and Inuyasha exchanged glances, then nodded in agreement. "That'd be great," Scott responded.
The trio then set off towards the shrine, eager for the experiences that awaited them.
