As the room's door clicked shut behind them, Scott took a moment to marvel at the suite's meticulous attention to detail, each element echoing the rich history of an era long past.
"Wow, this place... it's just like a history lesson come to life," Scott exclaimed, turning to Inuyasha. "Did your people really live and dress like this? It's so accurate to the legends."
Inuyasha, with a glint of nostalgia in his eyes, replied, "Yes, it is. This decor and the garments are reminiscent of the traditional attire from back in the day. Do you remember the first outfit I had on when we met?"
Scott's eyes sparkled in recognition. "Of course! It was that striking blood-red kimono and hakama ensemble."
"That's right," Inuyasha said, a hint of pride evident in his voice. "It was made from the hide of a fire rat demon that had met its end near my mother's village. But let's put that aside for now. It's been a long day, and I could really use some rest. How about you?"
Scott nodded in agreement, the fatigue from the day's events evident on his face. "A shower and then some sleep sounds heavenly right now."
With that, the two stripped and headed to the opulent bathroom, taking turns to rinse away the grime and exhaustion of the day. Emerging refreshed, Scott was the first to return to the bedroom, dropping his towel into a nearby basket.
Before Inuyasha could fully take in their surroundings, Scott playfully scooped him up, carrying him effortlessly to the bed. Setting Inuyasha down with gentle care, Scott joined him under the plush covers.
He wrapped an arm and his tail protectively around Inuyasha, pulling him close. Their breathing synchronized as they drifted into a deep, restful sleep.
The soft trill of the bedside phone disrupted the serenity of the morning, causing Scott to stir. Stretching an arm over Inuyasha, who was still snuggled against him, Scott picked up the receiver.
The gentle chime of the phone broke through the room's morning silence. Picking it up, Scott's groggy voice answered the call.
"Good morning, sir. This is your 7 am wake-up call for breakfast," the cheerful voice on the other end announced.
"Thank you. We'll be down shortly," Scott replied, appreciating the courteous service.
"Splendid! Enjoy your meal," the voice responded before ending the call.
Scott set the phone back in its cradle and turned to his sleeping husband, attempting to coax him awake. "Babe, come on, it's time to get up. Breakfast awaits, but let's freshen up first," he urged.
Inuyasha, snuggled cozily into Scott's chest, murmured a sleepy protest, "Just five more minutes..."
Scott smirked, teasingly threatening, "Do you really want me to drag you out of this bed?"
A playful glint appeared in Inuyasha's eyes. "You wouldn't dare!"
"Challenge accepted," Scott replied with mock seriousness.
With a theatrical sigh, Inuyasha sat up and stretched, his movements punctuating the morning light filtering into the room. "Alright, alright, I'm up," he grumbled playfully.
The pair made their way to the bathroom, their steps slow with morning lethargy. After taking care of their basic needs, they stepped into the state-of-the-art shower. They were momentarily startled when the door sealed behind them and the water sprang to life, cascading from all angles.
Scott soon spotted a button labeled "pause" on the shower's control panel. Curious, he pressed it, halting the flow of water. He reached for a sleek bottle marked "all-in-one" and dispensed a generous amount of its contents into his palm, handing the bottle to Inuyasha, who did the same.
They lathered their hands and began applying the soap to each other, turning the simple act into an intimate ritual.
Once covered in the fragrant lather, Scott hit the "resume" button, and water jets reactivated, efficiently washing away the suds. Moments later, feeling refreshed, they stepped out of the shower, reaching for the plush towels on a nearby shelf.
After drying off, they opened a nearby closet, depositing their used towels into a hamper. Ready to face the day, they donned elegant robes and soft slippers provided by the inn, preparing to head down for breakfast.
Exiting their luxurious suite, Scott tucked the keycard securely into his robe pocket. Together, they made their way to the elevator. Within moments, the elevator doors slid open, revealing its gleaming interior. Pressing the button for the lobby, they felt the gentle descent as the elevator moved downwards.
The soft chime announced their arrival on the lobby floor, and as they stepped out, they spotted Stiles awaiting their presence with his signature warm smile.
"Good morning, gentlemen," he greeted, his eyes shining brightly. "I trust you had a restful night?"
Both men nodded in affirmation.
"Excellent," Stiles continued, gesturing toward a corridor. "Please follow me to the dining area."
Led by Stiles, they navigated through the opulent decor of the inn to the expansive dining room. The aroma of freshly cooked breakfast filled the air, whetting their appetites.
"Help yourselves," Stiles encouraged, indicating the lavish buffet spread before them. "And should you require anything further, please let me know."
Scott hesitated, then asked, "Actually, we didn't pack any clothes from our previous stay. Do you know where we could purchase some here?"
"Certainly," Stiles replied with a nod. "Just to the right of the elevator, there's a boutique that offers a range of clothing and souvenirs."
"Thank you, Stiles," Inuyasha said gratefully.
"You're welcome," Stiles replied, nodding courteously. "Enjoy your meal." With that, he turned gracefully and went back to attending other guests.
Drawn by the delectable spread, Scott and Inuyasha each selected a plate, loading it with a variety of breakfast delicacies. They chose a comfortable table, and as Scott returned with beverages, he leaned down to plant a gentle kiss atop Inuyasha's head, breathing in the familiar scent of his husband.
Breaking the comfortable silence, Inuyasha tilted his head slightly, eyes searching Scott's. "What did you think of the ceremony yesterday?" he inquired, a note of curiosity in his voice.
Scott paused, choosing his words carefully. "It was... enlightening. But it's hard to comprehend how brutal your ancestors were."
Inuyasha's expression hardened momentarily. "The same could be said about werewolves," he countered sharply. "My separation from my family, the loss of my parents—it's all due to werewolf actions. Yet, I chose to look beyond those prejudices and found love with you."
Inuyasha's eyes deepened with earnestness. "You should know, Scott, that a pack of your kind took me in when I was just 15. Had it not been for them, my animosity towards werewolves might have driven me to act rashly when we first crossed paths. Instead, I found love in you and chose a life with you."
Scott sighed, realization dawning. "It's essential for us to learn from our past mistakes and grow, isn't it? We must release the grip of old wounds to truly move forward."
Inuyasha smiled softly. "Exactly, sweetie."
Drawn to each other, they shared a gentle, intimate kiss.
Breaking the moment, Scott's curiosity got the better of him. "Why didn't you mention anything about that war when we first met?"
Inuyasha's gaze dropped, his tone somber. "First, I was merely a child of four when my species suffered that catastrophic blow. My father, as I recall, was always reluctant to speak of his past. And honestly, I had little knowledge of that war."
Scott nodded understandingly. "Regardless, I cherished our time together last night, delving deeper into your cultural roots and understanding more about your people."
Inuyasha's face lit up. "I did too. But," he glanced at their laden plates, "we should really enjoy this feast before it loses its warmth."
On cue, their stomachs rumbled in tandem, eliciting a shared chuckle. With renewed enthusiasm, they turned their attention to their breakfast.
After a satisfying meal, they stood, plates cleared, and made their way back to the elevator. As they approached, Stiles greeted them with his characteristic cheer.
"How was breakfast, gentlemen?"
"Delicious!" they chorused.
Stiles smiled broadly. "I'm glad to hear it. Returning to your suite?"
They both nodded in confirmation.
Stiles gestured to the elevator. "I'll need to accompany you up since only I currently have the key for the presidential floor access."
Scott waved dismissively, a smile playing on his lips. "No worries at all, Stiles. Lead the way."
The three of them entered the elevator. Stiles deftly inserted his key, activating the presidential floor button. As he pressed it, the elevator began its ascent. Within a minute, they arrived at their designated floor, and the doors slid open. Scott and Inuyasha confidently stepped out.
"I'll be right here waiting for you, gentlemen," Stiles informed them with a courteous nod.
"Thanks, Stiles," Scott replied. "Just give us a couple of minutes."
Stiles nodded in understanding and watched as the couple disappeared down the opulent hallway.
After a short walk, Scott and Inuyasha arrived at the end of the corridor, stopping in front of the door to their suite. Scott fished out the keycard from his robe pocket and inserted it. The mechanism whirred to life, and after a few seconds of clicking, the door unlocked.
Once inside, Scott placed the keycard on a nearby counter and proceeded to close the door behind them. They removed their robes, neatly placing them on the bed.
Bending over to collect their discarded clothes from the floor, Scott couldn't resist stealing a quick glance at Inuyasha's derrière. Noticing the attention, Inuyasha turned with a teasing smirk.
"Take a picture; it'll last longer!" Inuyasha quipped, raising an eyebrow.
Scott, caught in the act, chuckled and retorted, "I did. Took a mental one." His face was painted with a mix of embarrassment and mischief.
The two of them shared a hearty laugh before proceeding to dress. Once appropriately attired, they ventured into the kitchen, each selecting a bottle of water from the fridge. Scott, ensuring they wouldn't be locked out upon their return, grabbed the keycard from the counter and slid it securely into his pocket.
Approaching the door, Scott opened it and they both exited, the door clicking shut and automatically locking behind them. As they strolled down the hallway, they comfortably draped their arms around one another's shoulders, a clear display of their close bond.
Two minutes into their walk, they reached the elevator, only to find Stiles already there. He glanced their way, a blush creeping up his cheeks, before quickly averting his gaze. The pair exchanged grins, finding the situation slightly amusing, and stepped into the elevator.
Regaining his professional demeanor, Stiles pressed the button designated for the lobby. The elevator smoothly descended, and a short minute later, its doors opened to reveal the bustling area below.
"Like I mentioned earlier," Stiles began, pointing in the direction they should head, "the shop is to the right of the elevator. But do note, it doesn't open until 8:50 am."
"Thanks, Stiles," Scott replied with a nod of appreciation.
"My pleasure," Stiles responded with a polite smile.
Realizing they had a bit of time to spare before the shop opened, Scott and Inuyasha decided to head back to the dining area for a refreshing frappe. As they approached the food display, they took note of the surprisingly sparse crowd, with only a few guests and workers enjoying their morning meal.
Contented with their beverages in hand and energized for the day's adventures, they made their way back to the lobby. To their pleasant surprise, they noticed that the shop's doors were now welcomingly open.
