The carriage's wheels made a rhythmic thudding against the gravelly road as it steadily made its way to the castle. The inside of the carriage bore a somber atmosphere. However, the mood shifted palpably when Inuyasha groggily stirred from his unconscious state, his golden eyes blinking in confusion.

Scott's face, previously etched with worry, broke into a relieved smile as he met Inuyasha's gaze. "You're awake," he breathed, "I was so worried."

Inuyasha attempted to sit up, his head pounding. "What just happened? All I remember is a wrenching feeling in my gut and then... darkness."

Sesshomaru, watching the exchange with an inscrutable expression, intervened, "Your demon blood became uncontrollable. You went into a sort of... feral state."

Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock. "Feral state? Why?"

"As an unmated half-demon, there's an ongoing battle between your human and demon sides. Occasionally, the demon side gains the upper hand, resulting in... incidents like what we just witnessed," Sesshomaru explained, a note of caution underlying his voice.

A myriad of emotions flickered across Inuyasha's face. "How did you deduce I'm unmated?"

Sesshomaru's lips quirked up, amusement evident in his eyes. "First, your body radiates the distinct scent of someone unmated. Second, I see no mating marks from Scott on your neck. And lastly," he added with a smirk, "I can still detect your untouched virginity."

Inuyasha's face turned an impressive shade of red. Before he could retort, the carriage jolted to a sudden stop, causing the passengers inside to brace themselves.

A voice from outside announced, "Young lord, we have a problem."

Sesshomaru's eyes sharpened. "What is it?"

"The roads have been flooded due to the recent storms. We'll need to find shelter until it's safe to proceed."

Recollection flashed in Inuyasha's eyes. "I remember some lodges not far from here. We should head there for now."

Sesshomaru nodded in agreement. "Very well. Lead the way."
Scott relayed the situation to the others, explaining that their arrival would be delayed for at least a few days, or until the water receded enough to safely cross. Understanding the potential dangers of flash floods, Sesshomaru, Shippou, and Inuyasha nodded in agreement with the decision.

The landscape outside the carriage windows shifted as the valet drove towards the nearby lodges. After what seemed like a short while, the valet pulled over and instructed everyone to wait as he checked them in. The surrounding environment had a serene aura with the lodges nestled amidst tall pine trees, their wooden exteriors blending seamlessly with nature.

When the valet returned, he handed over keys to two lodges, one for Shippou and Sesshomaru and another for Scott and Inuyasha. Once settled, the group unanimously decided that a visit to the spa for massages was in order, both as a treat and as a way to relax after the day's unforeseen events.

After their spa visit, which lasted a couple of hours, the group retreated to the sauna, allowing the steam and warmth to further soothe their tired bodies. Conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared memories.

Nightfall approached faster than they anticipated. Bidding each other goodnight, the pairs retreated to their respective lodges for some well-deserved rest.

The next morning, Scott awoke with the first light, the room bathed in a soft golden hue. Quietly, so as not to disturb Inuyasha, he decided to head out to hunt breakfast for the group.

Slipping out of the lodge, Scott noticed the valet asleep, eliciting a soft chuckle from him. Before shifting into his full wolf form for the hunt, Scott disrobed, placing his clothes on a nearby rock.

The hunt was swift, with Scott's werewolf instincts guiding him. Soon, he returned to the clearing, holding a freshly killed thirteen-point buck. Valet, now awake, was offered the first pick, while Scott, nonchalantly naked and covered in blood, headed to notify the others.

Approaching the door of Sesshomaru's lodge, he knocked softly. Scott gently rapped on the door of Sesshomaru and Shippou's lodge, the cool morning breeze tousling his hair. When Shippou opened it, his eyes briefly widened at Scott's state of undress before settling into a soft grin.

The door opened to reveal Shippou, still looking groggy from sleep. "Hey Scott, do you have any idea how early it is?" The edge in Shippou's voice was softened by the hint of a smirk, acknowledging the sight of Scott standing there, unabashed in his nudity.

"Morning, Shippou," Scott greeted, his tone light. "I've hunted down a deer for breakfast. It's a sizable buck, so there should be enough for all of us."

Shippou stretched, yawning slightly. "Apologies for my initial reaction," he mumbled, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Thanks for the breakfast heads-up."

Scott smiled warmly, patting Shippou's shoulder. "No worries, nephew. I thought you two might appreciate it."

Heading back to his own lodge, Scott entered quietly, hoping not to disturb Inuyasha. However, as he proceeded towards the bathroom, he found that his mate was still deeply ensconced in sleep.

The soft light from the morning sun filtering through the curtains illuminated Inuyasha's peaceful face, and Scott paused for a moment to admire him.

The sound of the shower came alive as Scott tested the water temperature. Just as he stepped under the cascading warmth, he felt a pair of familiar arms encircle his waist. "Good morning," Inuyasha whispered, his voice filled with warmth, "You smell of the forest... and fresh prey?"

Scott chuckled softly, leaning back into the embrace. "I wanted to surprise you," he murmured, turning to face Inuyasha. "Thought you'd enjoy waking up to the scent of a fresh kill."

Inuyasha's lips curled into a playful smirk. "I can hunt for myself, you know."

Moments of tenderness had always seemed to punctuate the whirlwind of adventure that Scott and Inuyasha found themselves in. The intimacy of their shower, their hands gently lathering soap on each other's skin, was one of these moments.

It was a simple act, but one that spoke volumes about their relationship: gentle, loving, and built on trust.

As Inuyasha turned off the shower, the sound of water droplets filled the silence. They both stepped out, and while Inuyasha reached for a towel to dry them both, Scott lost himself in thought. His mate's actions, the care and attention he provided, never ceased to amaze him.

The knock on the door brought Scott back to reality. "Who is it?" he called out, wrapping the towel around his waist.

The abrupt knock on their lodge door broke the serene afterglow they basked in post-shower. Scott moved to the door, peeking out to see Shippou with a playful grin on his face.

"Um, guys, you might want to hurry before the deer's all gone," Shippou warned, his voice filled with mirth. "The valet and I may have had a bit too much, and Sesshomaru... Well, let's just say he thoroughly enjoyed it."

Scott chuckled. "Alright, just give us a moment. We've just come out of the shower."

Shippou blinked, cheeks reddening slightly. "Oh, I didn't... I mean, sorry!"

With a quick motion, Scott and Inuyasha slid into their boxers and headed out. The scent of roasted deer filled the air, making their mouths water in anticipation. Seated around a makeshift dining area, they indulged, the savory flavors dancing on their taste buds. The satisfaction of a good meal, however, made them realize just how weary they were.

Retreating to their lodge, they decided to draw a bath, sinking into the warm embrace of the water, fingers entwined. As the water caressed their skin, soft murmurs and laughter echoed within the wooden walls. Clean and feeling incredibly close, they slid into bed, their heartbeats synchronizing as they drifted off.

The enticing aroma of roasted fish teased them awake some hours later. Eagerly, they ventured out, plates in hand, to indulge yet again. Their hunger sated, an urge to feel the natural surroundings beckoned them. Shedding their clothing, they took a refreshing dive into the lake, its cool waters invigorating their senses.

Emerging, they lay side by side on the soft grass, the sun warming their skin, a gentle breeze playing with their hair. The serenity of the moment, the shared intimacy of their bond, was palpable.

Rejuvenated by their time under the sun, they returned to the lodge and let the sauna envelop them in its steamy embrace. Time seemed to blur, and as the sun began to dip, they decided to embrace their primal forms and run through the woods, celebrating their connection with nature.

The hours flew by, their laughter and playful growls echoing in the dense forest. As the first stars began to appear in the twilight sky, they shifted back, returning to the lodge hand in hand, their bond stronger than ever.

When they returned to the lodge, the sight of roasted fish and the heartwarming note from Sesshomaru were a pleasant surprise. Inuyasha's eyes glistened with pride for his little brother, and there was a fond smile on Scott's face.

They sat down together, the ambiance filled with the soft glow of the setting sun and the comforting crackle of the fire. Sharing their meal in such an intimate manner, feeding each other, reinforced the bond they felt, transcending mere romance.

Once the meal ended and the last embers of the fire died out, they made their way back to the lodge. However, Scott quickly noticed the fatigue clouding Inuyasha's eyes. It wasn't long before Inuyasha's steps became heavier, his body swaying slightly.

Without hesitation, Scott gently lifted Inuyasha, cradling him close. The warmth and safety of Scott's embrace lulled Inuyasha, his eyes drooping, exhaustion evident.

Upon reaching the lodge, Scott carefully set Inuyasha down to manage the door. The weight of the day's events, both exhilarating and tiring, weighed on them both. With the door safely locked behind them, Scott gently lifted Inuyasha once more, moving them towards the inviting softness of the bed.

He pulled back the covers, laying Inuyasha down and covering him, ensuring he was comfortable. The tender care Scott provided was a testament to their love, a promise of many such shared moments in the future.

After doing so, he walked back over to the bed, lifted up the covers, and climbed in. He then pulled Inuyasha close. Wrapping them both up in the soft warmth of the covers, they settled into the embrace, the day's exhaustion catching up to them. Within a few minutes, they both drifted into a peaceful sleep.

The first rays of sunlight streamed through the lodge's window, heralding a new day. The peaceful chirping of birds outside was disturbed by a gentle knock on the door, stirring Scott from his slumber. He blinked, adjusting to the light, and found Inuyasha still sound asleep beside him.

Shuffling to the door, Scott softly inquired, "Who is it?"

"Your brother," came the familiar voice of Sesshomaru. "I wanted to let you know that the valet informed us the road is now clear enough to cross. Shippou and I have already packed up and loaded our belongings into the carriage. We've left our key outside your door. Could you kindly return it to the front desk?"

"Of course, just give us a few minutes to get ready, and we'll join you," Scott replied.

"Take your time," Sesshomaru responded, his voice laced with understanding.

Scott and Inuyasha quickly gathered their belongings, packing them away. After dressing, they returned the lodge keys to the reception and made their way to the waiting carriage. The valet, having already loaded their belongings, held the door open for them.

Once settled, the horses were spurred into motion, taking them on the next leg of their journey. The picturesque landscape of the Japanese countryside passed by, offering a serene backdrop to their travel.

After about thirty minutes, the carriage came to a stop at a private airfield where a sleek jet awaited them. The valet, ever-efficient, quickly began transferring the luggage from the carriage to the plane's cargo hold.

Once all the belongings were securely loaded, he turned to the group, tipping his hat, "Safe travels," he wished them.

Grateful nods were exchanged, and the group followed a flight attendant up the steps into the luxurious aircraft. They were greeted by plush seating, ambient lighting, and an air of sophisticated comfort. Once settled, the attendant closed the door, her voice echoing through the cabin's intercom.

"Welcome aboard the SS King's Airlines. This will be a nonstop flight from Tokyo to Beacon Hills, California."

After her announcement, she approached the group with a poised smile. "Can I get you anything during your flight?"

Scott responded, "Yes, could you please bring out a bottle of Chardonnay and four rare steak platters?"

The attendant noted the request. "Of course, sir. Your order will be out shortly."

After the attendant left to fulfill the order, the quiet hum of the plane was all that filled the silence momentarily.

"So, is this your first time flying in a plane?" Scott inquired, pouring wine into the glasses.

"Not precisely," Sesshomaru replied, his gaze fixating on the passing clouds outside. "If you consider my full demon form gliding through the skies, then I've been 'flying' for a while."

Scott chuckled, "Well, this is a different kind of experience, isn't it?"

As they were talking, the plane began to taxi on the runway. The initial jolt of movement caught them slightly off guard.

"Looks like we're about to take off," Scott remarked, holding his glass steadily.

Remembering the last time they flew, Scott swiftly handed Inuyasha a barf bag, just in case. Inuyasha offered a smile of gratitude, which was quickly replaced by a grimace as he felt his stomach churn.

Shippou looked on, concerned. "Is Uncle okay?"

"He's fine," Scott reassured. "Just a bit of airsickness. It happens to some when they aren't accustomed to flying."

Relieved, Shippou nodded. "I was worried it was the flu or something."

Scott chuckled, "No, just the ups and downs of flying. Speaking of ups, are you excited about seeing the castle and starting our new life together?"

"Absolutely, this has been a dream of mine since my teenage years," Shippou began with a hint of nostalgia in his eyes. "But my father always shielded me, deeming many experiences as too risky or dangerous."

Sesshomaru leaned forward, intrigued. "Now that you have the chance, what do you truly seek in this new chapter of your life?"

Shippou sighed, gazing out of the plane window for a moment before answering, "I'm not entirely sure yet. All I know is that I'm full of hope and yearning for something new."

Scott smiled encouragingly, "Hope is one of the most potent forces we can harness. It propels us forward, even when the path ahead is uncertain."

Inuyasha, having recovered slightly, decided to join the conversation. "And what about you, brother? Now that our lives are taking a new turn, what are your aspirations?"

Sesshomaru looked thoughtful for a moment. "Being a lord has defined me for centuries. With that title no longer applicable, I find myself at a crossroads. Yet, being by your side, with Scott as king, I believe there could be a role I could fulfill."

Inuyasha perked up at that, "You have vast experience and wisdom, brother. With Scott being relatively new to his kingship, perhaps you could serve as his advisor?"

Sesshomaru turned to Scott, his golden eyes seeking affirmation, "Would you consider it, my king? With my experience and your vision, we could lead with unparalleled strength."

All eyes turned to Scott, the weight of the decision palpable in the air. After a moment, Scott nodded, "Your counsel would be invaluable. Let's formalize this partnership when we return."

With matters settled, the group refocused on their meal. Their conversation, however, was testament to the new beginnings that awaited them all.
