Chapter 10: sleeping arrangements

Date: 7th December 20XX

Time: 10pm

Dear diary

Since the other day with the nightmare, Kano insisted that he stays in the same room as me during the time that we sleep. The last few days he ended begging that I allow him to do so and I quote "just in case" after much begging and him following me everywhere, I just gave in and let him sleep in the same room as me. Momo, Marie and Ene pointed out that he'd be able to help dry my tears if the nightmare happens again.

Tonight is the first night of us sharing a room since we were kids. The compromise for him staying in the same room was that we don't share the same bed. So, after making room, we had 2 beds in my room where he slept and where I myself slept. I heard footsteps outside the bedroom door and could only guess that some wanted to know what was going on. Kano was playing on his video game and I was writing in this diary. I had plans for tomorrow and had made a list of where to go and what times would be the best to go there.

After taking a break from writing in the diary, Kano waned to have some talks. He wanted to know what kind of plans there were going to be for the new years eve. He asked if I was planning on a party and if I had a date for then. He seemed too intrigued for it to be curiosity, I didn't answer, I barely knew what I was going to do tomorrow forget about over 3 weeks from now. I asked him if I did plan a party if he'd bring a date with him. He went silent, which seemed odd coming from him. It was like he had a girlfriend but for whatever reason, he didn't want to admit or confess to it. I've never seen Kano to be this secretive and with his silence he laid there facing away from me. As I'm writing this, he still wont even give me a glance when I ask about his wellbeing.

After a while, it seemed like I was the one doing most of the comforting and reaching to hold his hand, aiding in the comfort, he pulled away. This must mean that I've either upset him or he's mad at me. I spent the remaining time in the night coming up with ideas and plans to how I could make up to Kano for whatever I had done. The night fell quiet, more so than normal and we slept soundly.
