Kido, after the events of the anime, was suggested to write in a diary to vent out emotionally when she didn't want to talk to anyone else. even after the snakes plans were stopped, strange things had been happening and no one knows why. it's like reading her diary first hand with everything described from how they were seen, ranging from everyday life to the off happenings

14. preparations start

Chapter 14: preparations start

Date: 28th December 20XX

Time: 10:05pm

Dear diary

The police called again and unfortunately the call was to inform us that they'll be conducting a deeper investigation into the missing persons once the new year begins, as they'd have more people free to aid in the search. They ensured us that they'll do everything within their power to find her and that we should continue to ask around when we have the time.

I got nervous when Ayano, big sis, decided to introduce everyone to alcohol. She said it'd make the new years eve party festive and more interesting overall. None of us have had alcohol before and that would mean every one of us would easily get drunk. Big sis spent time at the shops preparing for the party by getting jelly and alcoholic recipes, I didn't know there were so many out there. I get the feeling when the party rolls around, there'll be loads of colour, slurping of words and maybe even some of just passed out.

I hear that alcohol lowers inhibitions so people will speak the truth more when intoxicated. She also got recipes to bake some snacks for the evening and said that she'd prepare more for the night when it happens. It still fills me with worry about trying these new things but I'll give them a try for big sis, she's putting alot of effort into this to make sure we have a great start to the new year.
