Chapter 24: growing impatience

Dear diary
Today was anything but easy, talking to Hibiya about the disappearance of Hiyori was challenging. He wouldn't stop going on about having to find her, despite us and the police having no clue to her where abouts. He was so sure that she had to be in town and that she was waiting for him to come and rescue her. Convincing him to wait for more signs as well as more information to arrive was anything but easy.
He continued to tell that only he could save her from the unknown fate that separated them. Kano assured him that there will be something to find and helped calm him down enough to help around the house. I could tell just by looking to Kano that his words, as sincere as they were, wasn't factual and theres a possibility that theres nothing of her left to be found. I knew he was saying it to keep up his spirits as well as hope that Hibiya will one day find Hiyori and something to strive for in the future. Seemed like Kano was being more mature than usual, not just when handling the impatience of Hibiya, but when also handling more adult situations like when taking care of other people in the house. It was like I was watching a father walk around knowing what had to and needed to be done. I won't admit to Kano but I'm glad he was around to lend a hand with everything.
It starting to seem like he's the one I can depend more on and something tells me that's what he wanted. With him making stupid jokes, which I had to stop him from completing it or even start. I can give everyone praise but I find myself praising Kano more and more with every day that passes. Hopefully I can do more to help not just Hibiya but everyone in the house, I get the feeling that others are not feeling too good in general. This could be because I feel useless when I couldn't help Hibiya and I want to help more in any way that I can.
It seems like with every challenge that we're faced with, one person is always there and it the same one I wake up to and fall asleep next to for the past few months.
