Just as the morning, orange, bright sun shone over the Berk, melting some of the snow surrounding it, Hiccup stared at it from the window of her room. Standing on her bed, she leaned her middle on the window frame, inhaling the cold, yet fresh winter breeze.
Her mind was wrapped by the thought of crossing the horizon, what was about to happen in a few moments. Consequently, she felt the thrill, encircling her body with enthusiasm, but also slight frighten. Moreover, twisting her fingers she ignored the second emotion, focusing on the good aspect of travel.
Immediately, her eyes lowered to the ground, just under the roof of the house, next to the building. There, she caught a glimpse of Toothless who strengthened himself and simultaneously changed himself, from one form to another. Afterward, she stared at his back, until the flush crept up her face, and to avoid unnecessary awkwardness, she grunted.
"Stretching out old bones, aren't we?" She exclaimed while Toothless leered at her, smirking mysteriously.
"Why? You like the view?" He questioned and burst into laughter, just as Hiccup's arm slipped from the window's frame and she fell on her bed, hard.
Instantly, after she got up, she scolded him, reddened from embarrassment. "Hilarious," she rumbled and gritted her teeth, observing how his amused state remained, afterward sliding from the roof to him. "Could ya just-," she began but was drowned out by his mirth.
Thus, she bored her eyes onto his bent self, before moving to his side and jacking his arm, resulting in his confused stare. "What are you doing?" He asked, glancing at her, lifting his eyebrow.
"Tryin' to brin' ya down into the snow," she replied, jumping on top of his back.
Instead of falling over her weight, Toothless straightened, almost throwing off her. "You know, it won't work if you said me that," he pointed out, gaping at how Hiccup got off his back, grasped his neck, and hung from it. "Seriously?"
"Please!" She begged, resisting her chin on his chest, pouting.
"Really?" He groaned but after the moment of goggling into her, he encircled her body with his arms, before falling into the snow on his back, with her on top of him. "Happy?"
"Very," she cheered, grinning widely.
"Even so, I wouldn't be so proud of myself if I were you. I did it on my own, literally."
"Maybe I didn't force ya into fallin' psychically, but I did mentally," she replied, relying her hands on top of his chest and leaning her chin on them. "It's good to know my manipulatin' adorableness still works," she sniggered and stopped, once feeling the weight of snow on her head, dropped there by smirking Toothless. "I should've stayed quiet."
"You should," he agreed, afterward asking. "Are you ready for the travel?"
Subsequently, Hiccup clicked her tongue, sitting up while Toothless did the same just after her, so she sat on his knee. "Well, I think so," she started and then nodded, convinced. "I am ready. I sure am."
"Glad to hear," he responded, hugging her, momentarily. "So, have you packed everything?" He inquired, patting her back so she stood up.
"Yes and fortunately there is not much of it," she retorted, looking at him as he stood up himself. "After all, we don't want to strain yer poor back," she teased, stroking his mentioned body part.
"Oh yeah, you reminded me! Returning to your question-,"
"Which one?"
"About strengthening; yes and no."
"So ya were strengthenin' and ya weren't?"
"Well, yes, because in the middle of it, the curiosity caught me," he explained, grabbing swiftly the nearby backpack and throwing it on his back. "Watch this!" He added, before changing and pointing with his head to his empty back. "Where did the backpack go? It disappeared!"
"So that was what my partner was doin' while I was packin' the whole mornin'?" She giggled, crossing her arms.
Looking away, Toothless changed himself back and continued, swiftly. "It's actually a really interesting theme, about the things disappearing from us while we change. Like clothes! What happens to them? Why won't they tear? Also, why, while once I had a rope on my arm and tried to change, it almost ripped my hand?"
"Master of changin' the theme ya are not for sure," she stated, but ignored the fact, responding. "I was once thinkin' about it, and while I can't explain what's happenin' to them, I can explain what happened with that rope," she went on, taking off her hair tie and passing it to him. "Wear it on yer hand."
"Why?" He asked and groaned when she didn't answer, forcing the mentioned item into his hold. "Fine!" He barked, doing the order.
"Okay, now change," she commanded, and without question, he did so. "Look! The hair tie, it's all gone! How that happened?!"
"Ha, ha. Okay, we get it."
"If so, change back," she ordered and pulled out the hair tie of his hand, just to put it back herself. "So, if I'm correct-," she began but was interrupted when he changed again and whined at the pain caused by a too-tight object around his wrist, snapping it in the meantime. "It was my favorite one."
"Fuckin' shit! What has it been made of?! Metal?!" He whimpered, licking his paw furiously.
"No! Why ya must have changed right away? I was about to say ya to not do this under any conditions!"
"Then why I must have worn it?! Was the presentation necessary?!" He noted and pointed with his head at the shreds of the hair tie around, growling at them.
"No, but-!" She paused, rubbing her eyelids, and glimpsing his wince sighed, kneeling in front of him. "Show me."
Afterward, hesitantly, he showed her his limp, which she grasped, analyzing it carefully. In the meantime, Toothless gaped at her face, turned downward, covered by the strands of hair which she tucked behind her ear in the middle of her work.
Immediately, he felt guilty and regretful for not doing it on his own. The way the sun brightened her face, the way she bit her lip focusing on her work, how scarlet her cheeks were as a result of the cold weather, all of these aspects were the infinite effects of his madness about her.
"Does it hurt?" She asked suddenly, pressing his scales with her thumbs.
"No," he answered, returning to reality.
"What about now?"
"Barely."
"Good," she noted, stroking his paw. "It doesn't seem broken or twisted, so give it a moment and the pain will pass," she elucidated and gazing up at him tilted her head, detecting his stare. "What?"
Afterward, he ran his tongue across her cheek, much to her dissatisfaction. "You're adorable when you're worried," he cooed, smiling.
"And ye're annoyin' when ye're grateful," she griped, wiping off some of his salivae from her face. "Disgustin'."
"How dare you?" He snarled, before changing and swiftly kissing her other cheek, while they sat on the white powder. "Better?"
"Far better."
"What's the difference?"
"Less saliva," she clarified and groaned, noticing the liquid on her eyebrow arch. "How much there is of it?!" She yapped and loosened when Toothless grabbed her chin gently and wiped with his sleeve some of the remains of drool. "Thank ya."
In response, Toothless beamed at her, but haven't let go of her chin, staring with his eyes into hers, cautiously. Eventually, their faces moved closer to each other, until their lips connected in a kiss, which was deepened by Hiccup after the moment.
After what seemed like a longer period, their lips departed, but they stayed close, while Toothless exhaled shakily against her chin. "I love you," he whispered.
"Are ya goin' to say it each time we kiss for more than a minute?"
"Until you get bored of it," he joked, and both of them giggled before he straightened. "You haven't explained that hair tie, still. Why has it broken?"
"Some time ago I noticed that dependence while wearin' my bag," she began and gripped Toothless's arm to once more analyze his hand. "Whenever ya wear somethin' yerself it changes with ya," she unfolded, frowning at the note of Toothless's red bruise, which either was like that or enlargen after he changed, "however, if someone else put somethin' on ya-,"
"It won't," he finished for her, gaping at her hands encircling his wrist. "Why it is so?"
"If I had to guess, I would say that's some mental thin', after all, every one of our abilities is. It's like yer body accepts the item, for example; clothin', because it's somethin' it pulled itself on it. Do ya understand what I mean? At least partly?"
"I think so," he responded, standing up and helping her out to do the same. "All I know for sure is that I have one more reason for nobody to touch me," he snickered, but then grinned at her, innocently. "Well, maybe except for you; you have my permission for that, always."
"Ya love me so much, don't ya?" She implied, standing on her tiptoes, wrinkling her nose at him.
"The most in the whole world," he replied, lowering his face, so it was millimeters from hers.
"On that note, I'm certain that ya'll gladly go upstairs and brin' the rest of baggage from there, won't ya?"
"Eh, so much for the lovely moment," he carped, turning and walking toward the building entrance.
"I love ya!" Hiccup shouted after him, smiling brightly.
"Yeah, yeah. Me too, or something," he muttered, giving her a dismissive wave of his hand before he disappeared behind the corner, while she rolled her eyes at him.
Eventually, just as Hiccup was staring somewhere forward she grinned, hearing the familiar squeal next to her. "Who do we have here? Came to say goodbye yerself?" She giggled and moved toward Astrid, who just got off the blue dragonness- Stormfly, to hug her. "Ya know that I would come to ya either way, right?"
"I know, I know, but I'd better be cautious, after all, ya are famous for yer clumsiness, maybe yer head is in the same state as a body," Astrid mocked, and narrowing her eyes at her Hiccup stepped away from her and went to the Stormfly, ignoring the woman.
"Good mornin' Storm," Hiccup welcomed, stocking Stormfly's side of the neck.
"Hiccup," Stormfly squeaked, shoving her head into Hiccup's side. "Hi, Hiccup."
"Hi to ya too, girl," Hiccup inhaled soundly, after the impact which emptied her lungs. "How are ya?" She asked, pushing the dragonness's head away.
"Good."
"Good to hear. Have ya come to say me goodbye?"
"Goodbye? Hiccup leave?"
"Yes, but not for long," she explained, boring her eyes into Astrid's. "Why didn't ya tell her about it?"
"There wasn't an occasion, I guess," Astrid remarked, shrugging. "Besides, ye're tellin' her now, and I'm sure ye're more than capable of doin' that correctly."
"Ha, ha."
"Hiccup not leave. Fine here," Stormfly whined, rubbing her snout against Hiccup's arm.
"I must, I'm sorry," Hiccup excused, caressing her nose with her hand. "We'll be back sooner than ya think."
"Oh, no fuckin' way," Toothless barked, appearing from behind the corner, carrying the two bags under his arms. "What are they doing here?"
"They came by to say goodbye," Hiccup answered, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Okay," he crooned, shrugging and closing up his expression. "Bye, bitch," he added, moving to Hiccup, in the meantime ignoring Astrid's presence.
"Bye, asshole," Astrid replied, pouting. "Nobody will miss ya."
"With reciprocity," he acknowledged, before letting go of the baggage and stepping toward Stormfly. "I'll see you," he declared, scratching her neck on which she showed her tongue, pleased.
"Toothless leave too?"
"Yes, I do."
"Because Hiccup mate?"
"No, no-," he coughed out, turning crimson. "Hiccup is not my mate."
"She's not yer mate?" Astrid droned, glaring at Toothless. "Isn't the mate a dragon name for a partner? Don't ya consider Hiccup yer partner?" She hummed frowning, while Hiccup gazed at him, confused.
"I-, of course, I do. It's just-, yes; mate is the dragon name for a partner, but more exactly for a pregnant partner and Hiccup surely is not pregnant."
"Yes, I am not, and change the theme!" Hiccup shouted, blushing and avoiding Astrid's mocking grin. "L-Let's prepare for the travel," she suggested, and nodding Toothless changed, while Hiccup began setting and securing the baggage on his back.
"So, where are ya headed?" Astrid asked, observing Hiccup's doings, drawing nearer. "Is there some kind of direction-?"
"Well, we are not sure-,"
"Northeast. There are a couple of islands we may stay on."
"Northeast. There are a couple of islands we may stay on," Hiccup repeated, glistening at Toothless, betrayed. He couldn't have said that earlier before she embarrassed herself, she sighed, shaking her head. "Why are ya askin'? Are ya plannin' on followin' us?"
"Maybe," Astrod crooned, smirking widely. "If so then what?"
"Then, I'll kill her without witnesses," Toothless growled, scowling at Astrid who leaned over him, gritting her teeth, playfully.
"Toothless, stop plannin' Astrid's murder. Astrid stop encouragin' him into it," Hiccup commanded, stroking her temples. "We'd better get movin' before," she paused, staring somewhere forward.
Afterward, Toothless changed, gazed from behind her shoulder, and detected walking in their direction Stoicc, before hissing. "Is it a bad moment to say that the baggage fell off me?" He whispered, grinning at her, anxiously, while she nodded, pressing her lips together. "Do you want to talk to him?"
"I think so, to say goodbye at least. No matter what he says, he won't change my mind. We're goin'."
"Atta girl," he muttered, nuzzling his nose against her cheek, before leading both of them to Stoic, just as to meet with him halfway.
There, the three of them stood before each other, with Toothless keeping his hand against Hiccup's back, her crossing her arms, and Stoic brushing his beard, before sighing. "I have talked with the council, and they think that the idea of yer leavin' for the longer period is, well, ideal," he started, straightening. "As a chief, I support their opinion."
"And as a father?" Hiccup asked, furrowing at him.
"As a father, I completely disagree, still," he yapped, and inhaled, loosening, "but understand the reasons for it and accept yer decision."
Instantly, Hiccup threw her arms around Stoic, hugging him tightly. "We won't be away for long and we'll visit recently, I swear. I know we'll be far, but remember that we've got that terror's mail, now. Write whenever ya want! Sharpshot is well-trained, he'll find us everywhere, and-,"
"Hiccup, maybe give your father a little space," Toothless mumbled to her, grasping her shoulders. "Otherwise he might not let us go," he pointed out, pulling her away from him, and consequently, she glimpsed Stoic's veins popping out of his face, at which she grinned, anxiously.
"Right," she chortled, twisting her fingers. "It'll be alright, Dad."
"I know, I know," Stoic exhaled, looking heavenward, before gazing at them, rapidly. "Ya'd better be cautious, careful, and mindful. Also, find whatever ye're searchin' for Hiccup, and remember that the Berk will wait for ya."
"Thank ya," Hiccup cheered, before tiptoeing to kiss his cheek. "I love ya."
"I love ya, too."
Afterward, both Hiccup and Stoic were gaping at each other, until the woman took in sight Toothless, who beamed at her. Immediately, she grasped his collar and brought him to herself into the kiss, at which he chuckled, before returning it. Eventually, when they went apart, their eyes glimpsed Stoic, who glared at Toothless, crossing his arms.
Swallowing, he leaned to Hiccup and muttered. "You must have turned his attention to me?"
"Ya didn't like the kiss?" She asked and snorted when he shook his head. "So, don't complain."
"Ya listen to me now, boyo," Stoic started suddenly, at which Toothless stank out his chest, imitating confidence. "I entrust ya with my daughter. Don't fuck it up, or otherwise, I'll snack yer neck."
"I won't. She's safe with me," Toothless vowed, gripping Hiccup's farther shoulder and bringing her closer to himself.
"Good," Stoic concluded, nodding at Toothless. "Good," he repeated, gazing at Hiccup and signing. "Well, ya should get goin'. I don't want to slow ya down."
"Okay, see ya soon, Dad," Hiccup responded, smiling brightly.
"Goodbye, Stoic," Toothless added, while the corner of his mouth lifted.
"Bye, take care," Stoic finished, turning around and walking off, but stopping, suddenly. "One more thin' I forgot to add," he began again, leering at them. "The council agreed with me that ya should have some company for that travel of yers."
"Company?" Hiccup questioned, but then glancing back she understood.
There, she could've glimpsed the familiar group of young adults on their dragons, with Astrid in the lead, grinning and waving to her, mockingly. Consequently, Hiccup detected baggage on Stormfly and groaned, hiding her face behind her hand.
"You motherfucker," Toothless growled, glistening at Stoic, who was walking away, before he roared. "You'll fucking pay me for that!"
"I'd rather die than leave ya alone to have sex with my daughter!" Stoic shouted, while Toothless grasped and raised the handle of the axe attached to his middle, which Hiccup lowered without glancing, sighing.
