Chapter 34: Side Effects

We find ourselves in an old neighborhood we see two construction workers tearing down an old apartment building.
"Getting paid to smash stuff! You gotta love this job!" One laughs.
Pulling the machine back for another swing his coworker notices a shadowy figure in the building.
"Stop!" He yells.
Looking up they saw a man with pale blue skin, a brown coat, and roaches crawling all over him. This was Clancy.
"Get out of our home." Clancy orders calmly but they just laugh.
"Well, I hate to break it to you, pal, but this building's condemned by order of Councilwoman Liang." One said.
"Yeah, so move it or lose it! This place is comin' down, like it or not!" The other warns.
However, Clancy did not like that. Not one bit. From his hands, he unleashed a swarm of insects that attacked the construction workers and their equipment making them scream in shock and horror.
"Get these things off me!"
"Well if you think we're "bugging you" now." Clancy smirks.
Little did they know in an abandoned theater, not too far from the apartments, a figure with large wings was watching this with a look of worry on their face.
Meanwhile, back at Monster High, Drake was lying in bed with a runny nose and a cold
Taking his temperature, Drake's mom looked at it.
"Yikes. 101 degrees. Sorry, but you have a cold." Mary cringed
"Hmm well it could have been when we were on Abbey's snow mountain and then we did go to Gil's volcano to stop it from erupting," Drake recalls.
"That's the problem. You went through two extreme changes in temperatures in one day." Mary said.
"How come…I'm the only one who got sick?" Drake groans.
"They're monsters Drake, they probably just more adapt to such environments than humans. You rest up. I'll go tell your friends you'll be absent from class today. And maybe your father can whip something up for you." Mary said walking out.
Groaning Drake lays down in bed and pulls the blanket over him.
However, when Drake's mom told the ghouls about Drake they were not fans of this.
"Poor Drake, coming down with a cold?" Cleo said.
"I fail to see the problem. I get cold all the time but I don't need to rest." Abbey said.
"Different kind of cold Abbey," Clawdeen said.
"I feel bad, we ended up going on that mountain with the snowstorm," Frankie said.
"Not to mention that volcano," Lagoona said.
"He needs some help," Draculaura said.
"But Draculaura do you even know how to take care of a sick normie?" Frankie asks.
"Well…no." She admits.
"Well, how different can it be for us? I mean I bet if Drake feels better he'll be very happy." Lagoona said as they walked off to see if they could find a way to help.
Meanwhile, new students Abbey and Ester were slowly getting used to their new school.
While Ester was the first alien student, Abbey had never been anywhere besides her mountain so both were trying to make heads or tails of everything.
One thing that Abbey really enjoyed was the Baby Chills.
Since she was all about Ice like them, they kinda looked to her like their official babysitter.
As Abbey opens her locker, she sees the Baby Chills fly in.
"Ah strange Baby Ice Bugs. Right on time." Abbey said waving her hand and snow came down on them causing the Baby Chills to squeal.
Nearby, we see Ester sitting at the café, watching various fruits being put into a blender.
As the two smoothies were filled up Jinafire took one while Ester took the other.
"So what's this?" Ester asks curiously.
"A smoothie. It's pretty good." Jinafire said sipping it.
Curious, Ester took a sip and smiled. "Mmm, that hits the spot. We don't have anything like this back home."
"Drake loves these things. And honestly, I can see why." Jinafire said.
Looking around, Ester had to admit she was enjoying being the first alien student of Monster High.
"Hey Ester wanna join us for a game of ball?" Raythe calls out.
"You're on." Ester grins running out to play.
In the school library, we see Seth talking to Venus while Dracula is looking at the computer with the ghouls nearby.
"What is it you wanted to show us Dad?" Draculaura asks.
"Well that's the thing, I'm not 100% sure what it is," Dracula said showing them a message.
"Please help. My friend is about to do something bad and won't listen to me. He wants to do bad things. Help me. Signed Luna Mothews." It read.
"Sounds like this Luna girl is in trouble," Clawdeen said.
"It sounds like her friend isn't one who cares much about others," Cleo said.
"Where's this message coming from?" Frankie asks.
"It's coming from a few towns away," Dracula said showing a map.
"Oh perfect there's a Chinatown there. I can get herbs for Drake." Seth said.
"I wish we had him to help us," Lagonna said.
"Don't worry, my dad taught me this recipe for a cold remedy. I'll take Drake and Venus with me to get the right herbs. You girls can drop us off and then go find our monster." Seth suggests.
Nodding they liked the idea.
An hour later in Chinatown, we see Draculaura, Frankie, Cleo, Lagoona, Clawdeen, and Venus waiting while Drake and his father exit a drug store.
Groaning Drake had a hospital mask over his face and was struggling to stay upright.
"Hang on Drake, I got ya," Venus said helping him.
"You don't look so well," Clawdeen said.
"I feel tired and my throat is killing me." Drake groans.
"Don't worry I'll make sure to add plenty of honey to this," Seth said.
"So how does your family know this remedy?" Frankie asks.
"My dad picked it up from a monk in China. He gave it to me when I was sick, the next day I was cured." Seth assures grabbing a thermos out of his bag.
"Well that's pretty good results," Clawdeen said opening the jar and a putrid smell came from it making her gag. "Hey Drake how strong is your stomach?"
"Uh average. Why?" Drake asks as she closes the lid.
"Oh, nothing. Good luck with this." She cringed.
They were about to go in search of the monster when they heard a noise.
Peeking their heads out they see a councilwoman approach a podium unaware of a wasp landing on the microphone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank all of you for your support of my downtown redevelopment program. It's truly a dream come true." Councilwoman Liang said making the crowd cheer.
However, more wasps soon joined in making the crowd panic as Clancy flew in riding on a ton of wasps.
"Better make that a nightmare, councilwoman!" He declares scaring everyone.
"Wasps!" Cleo panics as they run for cover along with everyone else in the crowd.
"You're not tearing down our apartment building! We won't let you!" Clancy snaps.
"You're the nutjob who wouldn't leave." Liang realized.
"Nice to know we've made an impression." Clancy grins with glowing eyes the wasps surround Liang and lift her into the air.
"What are you doing?" She panics.
"Just bringing you home for dinner. You're the main course." Clancy grins terrifying her.
In the alley, Frankie zaps several wasps who come towards them.
"I could use a little help," Frankie said.
"Time to bust out the bugzapper." Drake groans activating his watch. Slamming down on it he turned into Ampfibian.
"Let's go!" Ampfibian was about to fly out and attack but immediately fell to the ground.
Groaning he struggled to get up, but could barely move his tentacles.
"What's wrong with Drake?" Draculaura asks concerned.
"Drake's cold must be making Ampfibian dizzy so he can't move as well as he would like," Seth said as Ampfibian struggled to make it into the street.
Firing electricity it zapped some wasps but the force sent him flying back and crashing into some crates.
Groaning he tried to get up but was too weak.
As the wasps turned to him they were about to fly in stingers ready when Venus waved her hand and several wormwood plants surrounded Ampfibian repelling the bugs and causing them to fly away.
"Whoa, what was that?" Clawdeen asks.
"Wasps hate wormwood," Venus smirked as Draculaura ran out and helped Ampfibian up just as the timer went off and he changed back.
"Ugh I feel like I just got hit by a truck." Drake groans.
Going to sit down, we see Seth mixing something into a thermos while the Omni Trackers call the one person who might be able to explain the situation.
"Look this is going to sound weird, but when Drake turned into Ampfibian he suddenly was all weak and could barely move," Cleo said.
"And when he did he basically sent himself flying. Not the bugs." Lagoona said.
"Of course, the Omnitrix is linked to him. If Drake is ill, then so will all his aliens." Xylene said as Drake let out a sneeze.
"Ugh, what's the point of having a grandmother who supposedly knows everything about this watch if you never give us useful information ahead of time." Drake sniffles.
"Well excuse me, but I didn't think anyone would be foolish enough to use it while they had a cold." Xylene glares.
"Okay that's enough you two," Seth said getting in between. "Mom, don't be snippy. Drake don't be a smartass."
"So when Drake gets better so will his aliens." Cleo realized.
"That's the idea, try to be careful," Xylene said before hanging up.
"Well then here Drake bottoms up," Seth said handing Drake a thermos.
As he opened it the cold medicine smelled awful.
"Oh god." Drake cringed.
"Don't worry. It smells worse than it tastes." Seth pauses. "Or was it the other way around?"
Seeing as how this was his best chance to get better, Drake took a big gulp and immediately gagged.
"Oh god, it's the other way around. It tastes so much worse than it smells." Drake said.
"Don't worry, you just need to drink 3 thermoses of that stuff and you'll be good," Seth assures.
"Ugh, I don't know what's worse. The cold or the cure? Why couldn't grandpa find a tasty Chinese soup remedy?" Drake groans.
"Hey guys, we found something," Frankie said getting their attention.
"I heard that bug guy say something about an apartment building being knocked down," Clawdeen said.
"And as it turns out there's only being knocked down in the whole city left for demolition," Frankie said.
"Where is it?" Seth asks as everyone looks over.
Using this chance, Drake slips the soup thermos into his inside jacket pocket.
'What dad doesn't know what hurt me.' Drake thought.
Meanwhile back at the apartment building we see Councilwoman Liang with black widow spiders crawling up her.
"Please don't hurt me." She begs.
"Black widows. Best make not any sudden movements." Clancy warns as more bugs enter the room. "Our grandfather built this building. We grew up here. Just me and my little friends... They are the only ones who understand, and no one is evicting us."
"Clancy isn't this going a little too far?" A female voice asks.
Turning around we see a figure as tall as Clancy with large moth wings standing in the shadows.
"You would rather do nothing than let them destroy this place?" Clancy asks.
"It's just a building. We can find a new home." The voice said.
"Yes, listen to your friend. I'll even help." Liang offers.
"Silence!" Clancy snaps. "Both of you!"
Walking over he glares the figure down.
"You call yourself my friend but you would rather cower in fear than stand up for our home. If you won't help me, then get out of my way." Clancy threatens.
Frowning the figure slowly retreats back.
Reaching into her pocket she pulls out a phone revealing she was the one who messaged Monster High.
"Come on, where are you ghouls?" She mutters in fear.
Just outside the apartment building, Seth, Venus and the Omni-Trackers look at the rundown building.
"This place is what he's been trying to protect? What a dump." Cleo said.
"Not everyone can live in a palace Cleo," Clawdeen said before turning into a wolf to sniff ahead while Draculaura turned into a bat.
"Everyone stay together. Who knows what's in here?" Seth said as Venus moved closer to Drake.
"Here need a hand?" Venus offers.
"Yeah thanks," Drake said taking it.
"You know this reminds me of when I helped take care of you back at camp." Venus reminds.
"Yeah except back at Camp it was mostly black eyes and bruises," Drake said making her giggle.
"Don't worry, I'll figure out a way to fix you up this time too," Venus assures.
Hearing this, the ghouls couldn't help but be a little jealous of how close Venus was with Drake.
As they made their way into some rooms, Seth noticed a few articles hanging on the wall. One of the headlines says Bugs Survive Nuclear Blast.
Looking into another room, Draculaura turns back into her monster form and sees tons of flyers and posters of Broadway musicals and plays.
"Hey, what's all this?" Draculaura asks as Cleo walks in.
"I guess Bug Boy is a fan of musicals." Cleo assumes.
"I don't know, this doesn't feel like his room," Draculaura said.
"You think someone else lives here?" Cleo asks.
"Maybe." She shrugs.
In another room, Clawdeen was sniffing around before noticing a big nest of spider webs making her cringe.
"Ghouls, something tells me we're getting close," Frankie said.
Fidgeting with the watch, Drake slams on it and as a result, he turns into Four Arms.
"And this time I'm ready." Four Arms said revealing he was a little pale.
"Help!" A voice yells from the upper floor.
"Come on!" Venus said but just as Four Arms was about to grab everyone they noticed hives under his armpits making the ghouls cringe.
"Ugh, what is that?" Cleo said grossed out.
"It's your hives. Your cold must have affected them." Seth said.
"Ugh let me down this is so gross," Cleo said.
"Give me a break. I'm sick." Four Arms groans.
"You're not the only one," Lagoona said.
As Four Arms burst through the ceiling Venus and Cleo used their vines and wrappings to get everyone up.
Making their way to the screaming Liang gasps at the sight of them.
"Stop. Black widows." She whispers terrified. "What are you, people?"
"Don't worry we're gonna help you." Draculaura assures as Clawdeen changes back.
"Yeah, we're friendly." She assures before leaning. "How do we get them off her?"
"I don't know," Seth said as Four Arms sniffled.
"Ah-Ah-Ah-ACHOO!" He sneezes causing mucus to fly onto Liang and knock the spiders off her. "Oops. Sorry."
"Ugh. Thank you." Liang smiles as Frankie offers her a hand but the woman hesitates. "Where did you come from?"
"A little place called Monster High," Frankie said as a voice gasped.
"Monster High? You got my message." A female voice said excitedly.
Turning around they saw something flying in.
Stepping into the light we see the figure was a girl with yellow skin, black hair with red highlights, a ragged black outfit with large moth wings. This was Luna Mothews.
"Wait are you Luna?" Lagoona gasps.
"Luna Mothews." She said before realizing something. "Listen we need to get this woman out of here. My friend Clancy has gone crazy."
"Clancy? You mean bug boy?" Venus realized.
"Where is he?" Seth asks.
"Right here." Looking up they saw Clancy on a support beam. "And you're trespassing."
With glowing eyes, many red bugs swarm together to create a giant wave that towers over Four Arms and knocks him against the wall.
Moving in Frankie zaps several of the bugs but they knocked her away too.
"Luna. I'm disappointed in you. How could you go behind our back?" Clancy glares.
"Why? Because you're taking this too far. Kidnapping people, threatening lives, and don't even get me started on your crazy idea." Luna counts.
"This isn't the crazy idea?" Seth asks in disbelief.
"Very well, if you won't rule with us, you can suffer with everyone else." Clancy said as bugs attacked them.
Creating several venus fly traps, Venus had the plants eat some of the bugs but more kept coming.
"Fall back!" Venus yells when termites begin eating the ground under Cleo and Lagoona.
"Termites!" Lagoona gasped when the ground broke under them.
Gasping Luna flew in and grabbed them before they fell.
Struggling, she tried to pull them both up but it was a struggle when suddenly Councilwoman Liang ran over and helped them.
"Come on! Pull!" Liang said as they pulled them up.
"You saved us? But we're monsters." Lagoona said confused.
"Well, that didn't stop you all from saving my life." She smiles softly.
Running over Clawdeen helped them pull.
"Alright, bug boy. I think it's time someone squashed you." Four Arms growls charging in.
With glowing eyes, Clancy ordered tons of red ants to crawl in and started moving up his legs biting him.
"Ow! Ow! Get off me you little pests!" Four Arms yells hopping on one foot trying to swat them off him.
Running around scratching and itching himself Four Arms smashed into a few support beams.
"You're destroying our home!" Clancy snapped as the building began to crumble.
Summoning wasps, they quickly surrounded Clancy while the rest of the building collapsed.
"The whole place is coming down!" Draculaura panics.
"We have to get out of here!" Liang said.
"No time." Running in between them, Venus created a dome of vines around them just as it came down on them.
Outside we see the entire apartment building collapse into rubble, the only thing still intact is Venus' dome.
Slowly undoing it, they saw they were all safe and sound.
Nearby Four Arms lifts a wall off him just as the watch begins to time out turning him back into Drake.
"Ugh, my head." Drake groans.
Luckily Liang didn't see that.
Emerging from a pile of bugs, Clancy looks in horror to see all the bugs are dead.
"No! No! No!" He said before glaring at them. "You'll all be sorry. Especially you, Luna. We will exterminate the entire city!"
Flying in a ton of wasps surround Clancy before carrying him off.
Looking up at him, Luna frowned before stepping on something. Looking down she picks up the remains of a flyer of Broadway.
"Did I make the right choice?" She said unsure.
"Ghoul of course you did," Clawdeen said.
"Yeah, that man is insane. You were right to ask for help." Cleo said.
"But, now my home is gone. What do I do?" Luna asks.
"Well, then." Clearing her throat Draculaura gestures for the ghouls to join her. "We are the official Monster High Welcoming Committee. How would you like to join our school?"
"Wait seriously?" Luna smiles.
"What is Monster High?" Liang asks walking over.
"It's a school that helps teach Monsters to help come out of the dark and help people," Seth explains.
"Like what you just did," Liang said before walking over. "I can never thank you all enough for helping me…wait where's that big monster?"
"I think he ran off," Drake said.
"Well give him my thanks. And as for the rest of you. Tell me is this Monster High thing something serious?" Liang asks.
"Very." Frankie nods.
"Well then…" Reaching into her pocket, Councilwoman Liang writes something down on a business card. "Here."
"What's this?" Clawdeen asks.
"My direct line. If you monsters can get this thing off the ground it might help to have a politician on your side. I can put in a good word for you." Liang declares making Draculaura smile.
"Oh thank you! Thank you!" Draculaura said shaking her hand excitedly.
"Can you find your way back home?" Seth asks.
Nodding Liang walks away. "Hmm, Monster High…maybe there's a way to start small for them and help." She mumbles in thought.
"Wait so you're a human?" Luna said as Drake walked over.
"I know. I know, it's crazy but it's a long story. We have to stop bug boy before he does something crazy." Drake said.
"He wants to exterminate mankind; I think we're past crazy at this point," Lagoona said.
"Luna, you knew him. What do you think he meant by that?" Frankie asks.
"He had to have said something," Venus said.
Pausing Luna remembered something. "I know where he's going but we have to move fast."
"Where is he going?" Seth asks.
"Up there." Luna points to the nuclear power plant atop the hill.
"Well then let's hurry," Cleo said as Drake began to shiver.
"Geez is there a draft coming in? I'm freezing." Drake shivers.
"Drake you're shaking like a leaf," Venus said.
"Forget about me. Let's just go." Drake said.
Racing to the power plant, they made their way in after seeing Clancy's bugs already swarming above it.
As they were walking down the hall, Luna looked at them briefly. "Can I just ask…why are you all doing this?"
"What do you mean?" Frankie asks.
"You're risking your lives. To save humans that once caused the Great Fright Flight. Why?" Luna asks.
"What do you mean why? Because it's the right thing to do." Clawdeen said.
"Plus how can expect to live among them if we don't help them, mate?" Lagoona asks.
"If we want to be able to live with humans that means their problems are also our problems," Dracularua explains.
"Plus when we help stop said problems it gives us positive buzz and support for our cause," Frankie said.
"And the spotlight loves us." Cleo smiles.
Glancing at Venus, she shrugs.
"I'll admit I was skeptical at first too but normies can be surprising. Especially ones like Drake." Venus hints.
As Luna tried to process all this an alarm went off. "Uh that's not good is it?" She gulps.
"Never is," Drake said.
Running to the control room, they saw Clancy had smashed the controls.
"Core temperature critical. Meltdown imminent." The intercom said.
"Clancy was here first." Luna realized.
"What are we going to do now?" Venus asks.
"There has to be another way to shut this thing down," Frankie said.
"Most reactors have an emergency override system just outside the core," Seth said.
"How do you know that?" Cleo asks.
"I was a scientist before I became a Monster High teacher. I went to a few of these." Seth explains.
"I can help shut that down." Frankie volunteers.
As Cleo leans on a panel she sees a wasp crawling up startling her before it flies to the entrance revealing Clancy.
"Came for a front-row seat?" Clancy smirks.
"No. We came to stop you." Clawdeen growls.
"Yeah if this place goes nuclear you're going down just like the rest of us." Drake sniffles.
"We don't think so." Holding out his hands cockroaches crawled out of his sleeves covering him and his entire swarm turning him into a giant bug-filled figure.
"Oh my Ra!" Cleo said repulsed beyond words.
"When the reactor goes supercritical, we'll be snug as bugs in a rug." Clancy smirks.
"Of course, scientists believe roaches are the only creatures able to survive a nuclear blast." Frankie gasps.
"You mean to tell me he's got a bug suit to protect him while the rest of us blow up?" Clawdeen gasps.
"Bet you wish you stayed on the winning side now, Luna?" Clancy mocks.
"Clancy…you give humans a bad name." Luna spat. "Although to be honest I don't even think you are a human anymore."
"Why you—" Clancy was about to move in when Drake slammed down on the Omnitrix transforming into Heatblast. But he wasn't the same. For some reason, Heatblast was glowing blue.
"You want her. You're gonna have to go through me." Heatblast said.
"Drake something's wrong. You don't look right." Cleo said.
"We don't have time to point out my problems. You guys shut down the reactor. I'll deal with bugsy." Heatblast said.
"You mean we'll deal with him," Draculaura said standing alongside him.
"Draculaura are you sure?" Seth asks.
"Trust. Bats aren't scared of Bugs." Draculaura said turning into one. "Bats eat bugs."
As both of them charged in, Clancy swung his giant bug-filled arm knocking them back.
Using this chance, everyone ran past them to the reactor.
"You can't escape us." Clancy said ordering his wasps to go after them.
"Alright time to BBQ some bugs," Heatblast said holding his hands out but instead he just sneezed. "Hey, what happened?"
"Oh no, your cold must have frozen all your fire." Draculaura realized.
"What?" Heatblasts gasps.
As Clancy moved in Draculaura let out a sonic screech causing him to cringe in pain.
Swinging his arms around Clancy tried to swat her away but Draculaura dodged.
Releasing another shriek, Clancy cringed in pain.
Spinning around in anger he swats Draculaura knocking her to the ground.
Gasping Heatblast saw Clancy about to squash her.
"Leave…her…alone!" Heatblast yells holding out his hands and this time ice shoots out freezing Clancy's shoulder. "Whoa?"
As Clancy shook it off, Draculaura changed back to normal.
"My hero." She smirks as Heatblast helps her up.
"Always will be." He smiles.
Down the hall, the wasps were gaining on the other team.
"Meltdown in 5 minutes." The intercom said.
"They're gaining on us." Luna said.
"Not for long." Using her speed, Lagoona sprints ahead and grabs a fire hose.
As Cleo turns it on Lagoona sprays them causing all the bugs to fall to the ground with soaked wings.
"Uh oh, guess you guys don't like water much, huh?" Lagoona smirks.
"And just to make sure." Zapping the water, Frankie fries all the bugs so they can't follow after them.
As they raced into the core, they were nearing the final countdown when multiple roaches came crawling after them.
"Uh guys reinforcements are coming," Venus said.
"Keep them busy," Seth said as he and Frankie got to work.
As Luna and Cleo grabbed a broom, Venus created multiple vines to whack them away, Clawdeen turned into a wolf and slashed and clawed at them, while Lagoona got on her board to roll over them.
Nearby Heatblast and Clancy crashed in from the upper-level landing across from them with Draculaura flying in after.
"Meltdown in 30 seconds." The intercom said.
"Can you two hurry up? These things are getting closer!" Cleo panics.
"Drake help!" Draculaura calls out.
As he dives down, Heatblast freezes the ground over all the bugs trapping them in ice.
"You called?" Heatblast asks.
"Wait how did that happen?" Clawdeen asks changing back.
"I guess for some aliens, getting a cold isn't just an expression." Heatblast chuckles.
"Wait did you say aliens?" Luna said in disbelief.
"Like I said, long story." Heatblast repeats.
"Wait can't shut this down," Frankie said.
"All the override keys are overheated," Seth said as things were getting hot up in here.
As Clancy slowly got up, he charged at them.
"Look out!" Luna points.
Cupping his hands, Heatblast blasts Clancy completely encasing him in ice.
"Core meltdown in 10 seconds." The voice said.
"Oh come on! Can't this stupid thing say anything useful?!" Cleo groans.
"Stand back I got an idea." Approaching the core, Heatblast releases ice on the red hot core causing steam to emit as he tried cooling it down.
"Core temperature falling. Returning to below critical limits. Countdown canceled." The intercom said causing the Ghouls to squeal.
"He did it? He really did it?" Luna said amazed.
"That's Drake for you. He always finds a way." Seth said as the other girls smile.
"Yeah he really does," Venus said.
"Way to go Drake." Seth smiles.
"Thanks Dad…now can we please get some soup, hot chocolate, or something?" Heatblast asks before sneezing.
As they left the plant, they were walking along the cliff to a clearing.
"Alright let's head back," Draculaura said taking out the skullette.
Just as they were about to leave, Clawdeen noticed a roach nearby.
"No way. Get lost you little pest." Cleo said shooing it away when from all around them more roaches emerged surrounding them on all sides.
"Oh come on!" Drake groans as Clancy emerges in his bug suit.
"We didn't appreciate that cold shoulder you gave us at the power plant." Clancy glares.
"I thought you turned him into an ice sculpture," Draculaura said looking at him.
"Guess he thawed himself out." Drake said trying to activate the watch but he was timed out. "Aw man. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?"
"You'd like the world's biggest stink bomb to get them all away from him," Luna said.
"Stink bomb?" Reaching into his jacket Drake pulls out the thermos. "Hey guys get a whiff of this."
As the foul odor from the Chinese cold remedy filled the air all the bugs flew towards it and off of Clancy.
Turning to the cliff, Drake chucked it over the edge and all the bugs followed after it leaving Clancy all alone.
"Uh…" Chuckling nervously Clancy saw he had no way to fight back.
Firing her wraps, Cleo ties him up allowing Clawdeen and Lagoona to deliver two fierce kicks to the gut, Frankie shocks him, Venus kicks him where the sun don't shine and Draculaura hits him in the back causing him to stumble in front of Luna.
"Luna…you know I was just kidding right?" He gulps.
Turning to him, Luna pulls back her arm and punches her former friend in the face knocking him out cold.
"You ghouls are awesome." Drake smiles.
"I'll call the police, tell them to come take him away," Seth said taking out his phone.
"That's good…because I could really use some rest." Drake said sitting down exhausted.
Upon returning to Monster High, Luna seemed to love her new school and she especially got along well with Gigi.
Up in his room, Drake was still recovering from his cold when Seth handed him another cup of the Chinese remedy.
"Drink up Drake and you'll be all better soon," Seth said walking out.
"Ugh I think I'd rather take on Clancy again than drink this," Drake said when he heard a knock. "Yeah, dad I'm drinking it."
"Really?" Draculaura said popping her head in.
"Draculaura?" Drake said as the door opened revealing her, Frankie, Lagoona, Clawdeen, Cleo, and Venus who was holding a pot with oven mitts. "What's all this?"
"Well we thought after all you did today the last thing you needed was another glass of this stuff," Clawdeen said taking the cup and throwing the contents out the window.
"So with Venus' help, we made you a little something," Frankie said.
"Tada, Cleo's Cold Remedy!" Cleo said opening the pot to reveal a tasty-looking soup with veggies, herbs, noodles, and some seafood in a nice clear broth.
"Ignore the name, we all helped make it," Lagoona said.
Taking a ladle, Frankie scoops the contents into a bowl.
"I grew some of the herbs used in the seasoning," Venus said.
"I helped make the stock," Lagoona said.
"I found out seafood soup actually helps more than chicken," Cleo said.
"I got the meat and noodles prepped," Clawdeen said.
"I handled the veggies," Frankie said.
"And I made sure the soup was mixed well," Draculaura said as Drake took a bite and instantly a warm feeling engulfed him.
"This is…the best soup I've ever had. I love it." Drake smiles making the ghouls smile. "I'd hug you all but I don't want to get you sick."
"You can make it up to us later." Clawdeen winks.
"Done." Drake smiles before happily gulping down the bowl. "Mind if I have some more?"
"Absolutely," Frankie said filling it up.
"Here," Lagoona said handing him some water while the ghouls made sure he was nice and cozy.
Blushing Drake had to admit, that having all these ghouls nurse him back to health was WAY better than some foul-tasting cold remedy.
