Welcome back. Four years is a long time. I kinda missed this fic. But like others I'm finally going to be bringing it back. Just so you guys know I haven't been writing because I got two jobs, but I am considering doing a paaatreeon. All works will still be posted on the usual sites so there is no paywall to continue reading the chapters, I am just considering getting one for support so I could maybe get some more time to write. I haven't decided yet, but just letting you guys know its something I'm considering. Also check my profile for my discord.

It was time to put the plan into action that he had been carefully crafting during his years of travel Naruto had spent time traveling from earth kingdom town to town slowly but surely consolidating his position. And today was the first day in making that push.
He kept his party to a maintainable size.
Azula, Ty Lee, Mai, Zuko, Toph, June, and Shu had accompanied him. The others had stayed behind with the rest of the troops. The barrier was lowered, and they were escorted into the town. They were soon met with an assembly of soldiers both in fire nation and earth kingdom garb.
"Welcome back Lord Naruto!" Was the synonymous chant they all chorused as the entourage traveled through the town.
It's good to see you all again as well," he told them with a warm smile as the group walked through the gate and into the town.
Never in her life had Azula thought she would see an assembly of mixed-race soldiers who were gathered and followed out of duty and loyalty instead of fear. Nixed were the hollow skull faced masks of the fire nation that denoted them as faceless tools to be sacrificed in battle. Before them every individual face could be seen.
It did not take them long before they reached the mayor's home. Waiting to receive them was a man with a stout frame, dark hair done up in a bun and sideburns with a prominent beard and well-coiffed moustache.
"Mayor Morishita, it has been too long my friend." He greeted with a nod of his head to which was mirrored by the authority of Yu Dao.
"It has been too long my boy. You just missed Teera and Kori, they've traveled out to visit Teera's mother and won't be back for a few weeks."
"Tis a shame. By the way I have brought guests who will be settling down alongside me in your town for a few days." Moving to the side he longer blocked the entourage from his vision.
"Princess Azula! Prince Zuko!" he exclaimed before bowing down. "I am terribly sorry for ignoring you."
Zuko still uneasy about everything did not answer.
"That is…quite alright." She told him, trying not to be insulting to him. "These two friends of mine are Ty Lee and Mai," she introduced the two girls at her side with a wave of her hand.
"Hi!" Ty Lee chirped. Mai just gave a wave of her hand in greeting.
"The rest are my guests. I'm sure you heard of the Beifong family."
"Of the Gaoling Bei Fongs? There has been much word spreading across the country about the BeiFongs offering rewards for the safe return of their daughter. Word has it that she had been acquisition by the Avatar."
"Hah, like there's a damn person alive who can make off with me! Anyone who tried I'd beat their asses sideways!" the blind bandit boisterously remarked.
"And June and Shu, employee and family to keep things simple. Anyway, we are here to acquire about the situation. The Fire Lord is expecting his children to be returning home several months from now and he'll be expecting a report of all their dealings and stops. "
Morishita read in between the lines of what Naruto was suggesting. "Aah yes, but it will take me some time to gather all of the documentation. Allow me to escort you all where you will be staying during your stay here." He simply finished as he led the group to their sleeping quarters.

Shortly after they were set up with their own rooms everyone split apart to do their own things. Though one particular, even if they hid it, had a lot of thoughts on their mind.
That individual was one Toph Bei Fong who was laying back on some soft grass, listening to the wind and basking in the warmth of the sun. It felt nice, being outside and being given total freedom.
Nothing was like home; here she was free to be completely herself and free. Yet there were still stirrings that occurred deep within her mind.
And there was an emotion associated with that feeling.
Regret.
That her parents couldn't love and accept her for who she was instead of what they pictured her to be. That she was a prisoner in her own home and unable to decide her own destiny.
Another was the fact her heart and mind were fighting over if she made the right choice. Abandoning her first real friends? The people who helped liberate her and gave her the courage to leave her heart behind.
"A gold coin for your thoughts?"
There was no point in even turning around because it wasn't like she could see. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt the vibrations of his footsteps drew closer until it was right next to her. She took in the sensation of his body heat as he sat next to her and mentally analyzed his form as he drew her in close.
"Ever done something and wonder if you royally fucked up?" She felt him lightly tense and softly exhale as he turned to face her.
"What brought that thought on?"
Toph promptly shifted her knees upwards and rested her chin on them. "I been fighting for myself and to be able to express myself for the longest time. Its all I ever dreamed of when I learned to walk and talk. To the point whenever I get a chance, I take it consequences be damned!" An expression of guilt formed on her face. "And because of that I abandoned the first people I could call friends without a second thought. Aang was right, I am selfish!"
Naruto rested a hand on her back and gently rubbed, "What you are is human Toph. Well, all make mistakes and one of the most important things you can do is learn from them. You're free to leave and come back whenever you want my gemstone. It wouldn't be much fun if the Avatar doesn't have a full fighting chance after all."
"If it was anyone but you, I'd say you're being way too cocky. "
"What can I say, I am all about trying to make the impossible possible after all," he said with a grin. "Have you given more thought to my offer that night? To see the world as the rest of us see it?"
"Its…its still a lot to take in. I spent my entire life like this, what you're suggesting is a massive change? What if I can no longer Earthbend as well as I do now if I go through with it? Seeing the world as I do now has helped shaped me into who I am, and I don't want to lose that." She was proud of who she was, and she didn't want to change that for anyone.
"I can respect that. I apologize, I never wanted you to think I was trying to change you into something you're not. I wanted to show you the world in the way I see it, but I think I know a fair compromise. Hold out your hand." He said as Toph lifted an eyebrow. "Trust me."
Trusting the blond, she held out a hand and to her surprise he placed a clump of dirt in it. "The sensation you know the best is earth, right? The ground, the trees, the sweetness of cocoa are all the color brown. Proud and strong and if you throw in the other color of nature itself, green, the softness of the grass and leaves and all the foliage of world the two make up the sturdy element of Earth."
Recalling the memory of that vision Toph began to link images and what the blond had described as colors. For the first time in her life the colorless shapes began to lighten, and she was able to perceive some sort of form beyond the imageless blobs of her imagination. "Well, what are you waiting for? Keep going!" Doing her best to keep the tremors of excitement out of her voice.
"Yellow, the color of my hair it's the same as the Sun, the bright warm orb that warms our planet and everything on it. It's the embodiment of happiness and brightness."
Every hue and shade were touched upon as it felt like hours passed. Toph laid contently next to the blond as he linked colors to both sensations and experiences. Soon the warmth of the sun faded away for the comforting pale glow of the moon.
The gentle and romantic day had formed into an erotic night as the two of them decided to forget their troubles and only focus on each other for the night.
