Chapter: Of Family

As Kakashi unfroze from the table, breakfast was done and the kitchen cleaned. Looking around he saw the kids getting ready and when Naruto saw him, he smiled:
"Kakashi sensei is up guys" said the cute blonde
"Good, we can go then" Zabuza said as he put on a shirt. "Sasuke, keep an eye on him. If you and Naruto loose him in the district, just leave him" the kids laughed as Kakashi gave a mild glare at the other adult.
"For sure" said the dark haired teen as he smirked at their Jonin who turned his glare to said teen.
Then he smirked "Now that I know our Naruto can switch genders" he purred the word 'our' that had Sasuke bristling "Why would I go anywhere else?" and raised a brow, as if challenging.
Before Sasuke could jump the Jonin, Zabuza caught him in mid air and held him in his arms as said teen growled at the grey haired Jonin who smiled innocently at them.
"You can kill him later, you still need to watch him" Setting the boy down and nuzzling his neck to calm him a bit, Zabuza patted his back and addressed the room.
"Ready to go my lovies" wrapped an arm around Dean's shoulders "Remember to always hold your buddy" Haku and Sakura each grabbed Sam's hand, making him blush at the attention as each person intertwined this fingers. Dean smiled at his brother discomfort then blushed himself when Zabuza placed a kiss on the side of his neck.
Sasuke took Naruto's hand and giving one good glare to their Jonin, took the lead out the door.
At the main entrance, the two groups took opposite directions and gave each other a small wave.
"We are going to finish this quickly and head back to them" Sasuke warned their group
"But you didn't want to go shopping" Naruto said
"I'd rather be crowded then to leave you alone with this pervert" thumbing to their Jonin as said Jonin rolled his eyes
"Show some respect for your elders, boys"
"I will once you show me an elder, until then, I'll treat you the way you are acting instead"
Naruto laughed at his friend and their Jonin arguing as they made their way to the red district. As they moved along, both Sasuke and Kakashi unconsciously flanked the blonde's sides when they noticed he was getting some unwanted attention from some seedy characters. Naruto noticed but pretended not to since he like getting the two's undivided attention and they are both working together for his benefit.
Naruto may have been flanked on either side but still took the lead to the club. When they walked in, Sasuke immediately wrapped his arm around the blonde's shoulders and glared at the early customers of the club as they took in the three. Kakashi took the lead this time as he made his way to the back where he knows the office area is.
Giving a quick knock, Kakashi opened the door to see the manager look up from her books sitting at her desk.
"Yes?" the manager said as she looked over the rim of her glasses at the three that came in unexpectedly.
"We need to talk" was all that was heard as the door closed behind them.

Zabuza kept his arm over Dean's shoulder when they split off from the others and looking behind him, he could see both Haku and Sakura clinging to Sam like a lifeline. Looking around, Zabuza did see some wandering eye to his boy in curiosity that had him pulling the boy closer and a snort behind him told him that all three saw his move.
Dean, though, kept his head down.
He has never ventured outside during the day for a long time and he was a nervous wreck. What if someone recognized him? What if someone called him out? What if someone started something? The more he thought about it the more tense he became and his breathing started becoming shallow and his vision started to blur that he was surprised when his back made contact with the building they were probably passing.
"Dean. Breathe baby, breathe" a voice cut through his foggy mind then hands gripped his shoulders and arm.
"Dean, calm down. It's ok" was that Sammy?
"Dean darling, breath: in and out, that's it" Haku?
"Calm down, you're ok" Sakura. Turning his head to the left was indeed pink hair and worried faces. Turning to his right stood Sammy with his hands on his shoulder and looking ahead, he saw a wall of chest. Looking up was Zabuza and his face looked pained.
"What happened?" Dean croaked out and Zabuza released his breath.
"You were having a panic attack, darling" Haku said as he and Sakura rubbed his arms.
"I did?" everyone nodded "I didn't even know I was having one"
"Dean has never been good with being outside during the day" Sam hand squeezed his shoulder "You're ok"
Then arms pulled him into a hug, hands on his back and head.
"Baby, we'll get through this together" Zabuza mumbled in his hair
"Together" everyone else repeated as hands rubbed his back and arms. Dean blushed at the attention but relaxed into the mans arms, allowing the man to shield him.
"Come, I'll take care of you"
Dean hadn't realized the impact those words had on him until it was said out loud of him to hear and Sam just had to comment:
"About damn time someone did" Patting his brother and then his own arms were held by the other two.
"And we'll take care of you, Sammy" Haku nodded in agreement with the pink hair one as Dean chuckled at his blushing brother. Dean then laid his head on the man's chest, they left the alleyway as Dean navigated their way to their place and Dean blushed in embarrassment when they stood in front of a shabby looking motel.
"We live here" Sam said knowing that Dean will not acknowledged their arrangement even if they have no choice.
"Ever since dad left, we can only afford to stay at motels" Sam shrugged
"Your dad just left?!" Sakura exclaimed as Dean nodded and Sam snorted,
"More like ditched us. He's never been the same since our mom died forever ago" Sam said bitterly "Always left us for long periods of time with little to no money. Out on the drunk with what money he does make and we don't ever see him until it's gone"
"Remind me to skin him when we happen to see him" Zabuza purred as Haku hummed in agreement.
"Change of subject" Sakura said as they followed Sam up the steps to their floor.
"Right" Haku added "Whatever shall we do once the squad leaves"
"I've actually given this some thought and need your opinion" they stopped in front of a door and Sam took out a key to unlock it. Swinging open the door is when Zabuza said:
"How about we move to a new location?"
Silence…..
"YES!" Sam threw his arms in the air
"Huh" Sakura tilted her head to the side
"Sure" Haku shrugged and went in the room
"…." Dean was stuck, struck and shocked.
Zabuza looked down to his boy, seeing the surprise on his face and leaned down to rub their noses together.
"Then it's decided: When the squad leaves, we'll leave too and travel together"
"Cool" Sakura said as she went over to help Sam pack
"Dean darling, come pack" Haku said as he gently pulled Dean into the room. Zabuza smiled at them "Pack what you can't live without. Everything else can be bought"
"Zabuza" Sam said in a quiet voice as he fiddled with his hands while Sakura packed his clothes form him at her insistent. Knowing he didn't want to ask but needs to, Zabuza went to the boy and engulf him in a hug, making said boy squeak then hummed into the warm and safe embrace of the tall man.
"You can call me papa if you want Sam" running a hand through the boy's long hair, Zabuza felt Sam smile against his chest "And you never have to ask, my arms are always open for you my boy"
Sam smiled into the man's chest, hugging the man tighter as he was finally able to find an adult who is also willing to take care of him too and when Zabuza leaned down, Sam titled his head to the side as the man scented him.
Dean watch as the man who claimed him just last night is now claiming his Sammy as family and that warmth in his chest spread out to his entire being as Zabuza scented his brother. A hand on his arm made him look down to see Haku watching the two get familiar.
"You're family now, darling. You'll never get rid of us now that Zabuza has claimed you" Dean smiled then pulled Haku into a side hug.
"Hey, me too, me too" Sakura said as she skipped to them and got into the hug. Zabuza and Sam chuckled at the three then Zabuza kissed his head and gave one more rub.
"Aww, we missed out on the hug fest" Naruto's voice interrupted the room from the doorway.
"Naruto. That was quick" Sakura said
"Yeah well, wanted to get out of there before we caught something" Sasuke said as he walked into the room, pulling the blonde with him as Kakashi leaned against the door frame.
"The manager was very agreeable. She was sad to see her favorite waiter go"
Dean snorted "Favorite, did she even knew my name?"
Naruto sniffed then climbed onto Dean's back "She thought your name was Dave" making Sam laugh "Anyways, we have your last paycheck plus some tip money"
"That sensei swiped from the tip jar" Sasuke added as he stood close to Sam peaking through his stuff.
"It was a service fee" Kakashi covered as he walked in the room to wrap an arm around Zabuza's waist. "Now, what did we miss?"
"When you leave, we leave too"
"Yay!" Naruto fisted the air with one hand then hugged Dean with the other. "We are going to have so much fun traveling together! Maybe we'll teach you some defensive moves" Dean laughed at the enthusiasm of the blonde on his back
"Yeah, use Kakashi as a practice dummy" said man flipped the boy off, making the kids laugh.
"Alright, alright" Zabuza said as he waved a hand "We still have some shopping to do, so Naruto and Sasuke make your clones to bring these back to the apartment" pointing at two duffle bags and one box filled with tapes. "And find an electronic store for a stereo" Dean's head snapped up and his eyes lit up.
"What if we don't find one?" the blonde asked as he did the hand signs while Dean held him up by his legs to steady him.
"Pawn shops, thrift store, etc, etc" waving a hand
"Got it! Come on teme, first one to find one gets to be the big spoon tonight" One of the Naruto clone yelled as he grabbed a bag and jumped out the window. A Sasuke clone grabbed the other bag and followed suit as two more clones argued who got to carry the box.
Sam looked down at Sasuke "Big spoon?"
Sasuke shrugged "We like to cuddle. Something you need to get used to because a big guy like you must be as soft as a teddy bear" and to prove his point, Sasuke wrapped his arms around Sam's waist and squeezed. Sam snorted but smiled as he too held the boy close.
"I could get use to this" Sam said as he ran a hand through the dark hair as Sasuke hummed at the feeling.
"So where first?" the blonde asked from Dean's back. Sakura went to Haku and took his hand, Dean tighten his hold on the blonde on his back while Sasuke kept one arm around Sam.
"Aww, you are all just too cute" Kakashi cooed as Zabuza took his hand and lead them out the door.
"Can we get ice cream?" Sam asked
"Whatever my little Sammy wants Sammy gets" Zabuza said as he looked back to the kids following who perked up at the thought of a treat.
"Thanks papa" grinning at the first time calling the man by that name.
And Zabuza just melted for the boy.
OOOOO
Their shopping trip was basically for the essentials: underwear and socks, new pairs of shoes and toiletries. Dean joked about getting hair clippers to finally give Sam a haircut which earned him a very dirty look from Sam.
Naruto poked his neck and said that Sam looked fine to him, Haku agreed with both Sakura and Sasuke nodding.
Dean huffed; "Of course Sammy would be popular with the young ones" Sam smirked at his brother's grumbling and when Zabuza's arm pulled him to his side with a light squeeze, his smirk widen.
"Not just the young ones" Both Naruto and Dean turned their head to see both Sasuke and Zabuza holding onto Sam, Naruto laughed while Dean pouted then stopped to turn to them.
"Now that's not fair" Naruto tried to keep a straight face as Zabuza went over to the boys after letting Sam go, leaning down and pecked Dean's nose, breaking Naruto into fits of giggles into Dean's neck as he felt the boy under him warm up suddenly. Kakashi chuckled at them then lead the kids, taking hold of Sam's free hand to a department store close by so they can give Zabuza and Dean a moment.
"You need pajamas" He said out loud that Naruto perked at and jump down off of Dean's back, went to Sasuke's side and took his hand.
Zabuza kept Dean behind as Kakashi took the kids and Dean pouted up at the man.
"As much as you want Sam to get a haircut, I don't think he wants to" Dean pouted some more "But you can joke and tease him all you want" Dean smiled "Just don't go and actually try to cut his hair" Dean laughed and nodded. "That's my boy" and kissed Dean on his forehead before taking his hand.
"Zabuza" a hum "Where are we going to live?" Dean wondered.
"I have a nice place waiting that was left to me by a special someone" Dean tensed "She more like a sister to me" Dean relaxed and sighed "You'll love her, she's wild" Zabuza chuckled as he held the door open for Dean.
They located the group split off to different aisles with Kakashi standing watch. Zabuza squeezed Dean's hand then lightly pushed him to his brother before going over to stand with Kakashi. Sasuke was with Haku and Sakura while Naruto stayed with the brothers as Kakashi kept watch of any overly curious shoppers.
"Naruto-kun" the two adults heard and everyone in their group turned to see Haku holding up an orange floral sundress with skinny straps and mid length "This would great on your other"
Naruto studied the dress and shrugged "I'm already blonde enough, maybe something in a light blue?" he suggested
Haku nodded and put the dress back as Sasuke smiled at his blonde's choice in color then they heard Sakura snap her fingers.
"We all need fuzzy pajamas" Nodding to herself then turned to the other group. "Sam and Dean, what are your sizes?" Sakura asked while Haku and Sasuke went to another aisle for fuzzy pajamas.
"We should get matching fuzzy pajamas" Naruto said out loud as he went over to where Haku and Sasuke went while pulling Sam's hand with him. Kakashi and Zabuza shared a look.
"Dobe, we'll never agree on the color or patterns" Sasuke pointed out as Haku went through the rack and started pulling out colors he knows will fit most of the group, putting them in Sasuke's arms.
"Agreed" Sakura said as she went over to start looking through too.
"But" Dean started but someone held a finger up
"No buts mister" Haku said as he held out a green plaid one and handed it over to Dean "This matches your eyes"
Dean looked down to the pajamas in his hands and felt the texture "It is nice" he mumbled as Sam smiled at him.
"It would be nice to be able to sleep comfortable" then a pair of blue plaid was given to him by Sakura who smiled at him.
"Agreed" then went to Sasuke to look through the couple in his arms, picking out a red one with white spots.
"I like this one" Naruto said as he took out a purple one that had Sasuke quirk a brow but didn't say anything and lightly shook his head as he smiled at his blonde.
"Pick one out for me, dobe" Naruto smiled then went through the rack and pulled out a dark blue with little bats on them. Handing over the small bundle in his arm over to Haku, Sasuke took the one his blonde picked out then leaned over and place a light kiss on his cheeks. "Thanks"
Haku smiled at the two then went over to the adults, handing over the two he knew they would like. Kakashi laughed when he saw his and reached over to pat Haku on the head. Zabuza leaned down to nuzzle the boy's neck and said a quiet thank you. Straightening back up, Zabuza addressed their little group.
"Lunch?"
The blonde cheered and yelled "Ramen!" making their group laugh as they went to check out their purchases.
OOOOO
When they were handed their bags, Naruto and Sasuke made clones to take them back to the apartment so they can get lunch. Then both boys took each of Dean's hands making him smile.
Zabuza had another idea as he tapped Sam's shoulder and turned around, gesturing the boy to get on. Sam's eyes lit right up as he climbed the man's back and giggled at being carried like a little boy, one he never got to try because with his grown spurt he basically towered almost everyone.
"Thanks Papa" Sam said as he nuzzled the back of the man's neck and held on as they walked towards the marketplace. Haku and Sakura each took hold of Kakashi's and took the rear of the group with Zabuza taking the lead.
"Can we get ramen?" Naruto asked
"I don't know, kind of in the mood for a burger" Dean said
"Too much grease and very unhealthy" Sam said then turned his head to smirk at his brother "Get a veggie burger" and laughed when Dean made a gagging sound.
"How about pasta? We can get garlic toast" Sakura suggested
"Cheesy garlic toast" added Dean
"And Caesar salad" Sam said
"None of your damn rabbit food, Sam" Naruto giggled
"Rabbit food, that's good" Dean smiled at the blonde.
"Dean" said boy looked up at the voice from the front "Be nice to your brother, he just wants you to eat healthier" Sam turned his head and stuck his tongue out at Dean who glared right back.
"Sam" Sam turned back "Be nice to your brother, he's only teasing you" Sam pouted at being chastise but smiled when Zabuza squeezed his legs.
"Ok Papa" he said
"Kiss ass" Dean mumbled and Naruto snorted
OOOOO
All in all, they got different lunch from different vendors. Zabuza set Sam down but took his hand in his to head to one of the healthier ones while Naruto tugged both Dean and Sasuke to a burger joint. Kakashi allowed Sakura to lead him and Haku to a vendor that sold homemade pasta and made sure to buy enough cheesy garlic toast for everyone else.
After getting their food, Zabuza took them away from the bustling lunch crowd to a near by park where they sat under the shade of a tree and ended up sharing everything.
However before that happened, a poster caught Kakashi eye and stopped to read, making everyone else stop.
"The festival of the grand opening for the new bridge is to be scheduled for tomorrow starting at 10 am. A carnival" then a blonde head of hair appeared in front of Kakashi.
"A carnival and celebration will be at the local park" Naruto continued "Enjoy the rides and food. A fireworks display will be that very night. This will be a two day celebration so dress up and have fun"
The blonde turned to the group with stars in his eyes "We can dress up!" he exclaimed.
"Another reason to go shopping" Haku mentioned then studied their group. "I know this great Kimono shop"
"After lunch" Zabuza said as he tugged Sam to begin walking "Most likely it'll take us the afternoon to find what we like"
"I've never dressed up before" Sam said as he waited for Zabuza to sit by the tree and he sat down beside him "It'll be fun to go dressed up and have some fun, right Dean?"
"Finally, something we agree on" Dean said as he sat down next to Sam.
"This time we can match, we just need to agree on one color and we can choose our own designs" Haku said as he and Sakura sat together while Kakashi took Zabuza's side.
Which is now where they are: sitting under the shade of the tree, sharing their portions of lunch with each other and discussing color choices.
Pink was out of the question because of the guys and Sakura's hair.
Purple might work if they got different shades.
Black wasn't an option because of pink and blonde hair that had Sasuke snorting and stifling his suppressed laughter.
No yellow, just no.
Green was passed because Sakura didn't want to look like a slice of watermelon that had the group laughing.
Red maybe and then Haku suggested burgundy that was put in the maybe pile.
Blue is also in the maybe pile and when Sasuke said it'll match Naruto eyes, the blonde just smiled.
"Ok, our options are: purple, red or blue" Haku counted off his fingers at their list.
"White?"
Silence then a chorused of 'No!' that had Kakashi giggling at his own choice of word.
"How about a combination of all three?" Sasuke suggested as he lifted a ketchup covered fry to his blonde who took it and nodded.
"That could work. Guys?" the blonde asked as the group thought it over.
"If they have it in stock or else it'll take couple days to make" Sam said while the group nodded.
"Guess we'll find out when we head to the store" and the group continued on with their lunch.
