''Hey mom?'' Ash asks walking into the living room, Brittany looks up from her phone after texting her wife that the twins are picked up for their weekend at a friends house.
''Yes honey?''
''Could you help me study for a test?''
''Of course when do you have it?''
''Monday, but I would like to study all three days.''
''Let's start now and study an hour or two every evening.'' Brittany breaths out as she sits up, she looks up as Nicolas walks into the living room and smirks. ''You studying with us little love?''
Nicolas rolls his eyes as his mom and girlfriend both snicker as he frowns in disgust and smiles sheepishly. ''I wanted to ask if you wanted to game a bit, but you will help Ash?''
''Yeah for an hour maybe two.'' Brittany replies. ''Game after?'' She nods her head to the family room as he nods his head and winks. ''Take the big screen, mami will be home late tonight.''
She kisses his cheek as he nods his head with a grin and turns to Ashlynn, she takes the book she holds in her hand and opens it on the page she has a sticky note between, she snickers as she reads the topic and leans back in her seat. ''Love or hate it?''
''Hate it.'' Ash grumbles as she drops down beside her, Brittany nods her head and laughs.
''Yeah I did too.'' She places the book down and pats her leg. ''This calls for hot chocolate and lots of snacks.'' She stands up as Ash chuckles and shoots her a wink. ''Can you ask Nic if he wants some too?'' She walks into the kitchen as she nods her head and grabs the milk out of the fridge, she grabs a bag of sweet popcorn for Nic and grabs a salty one for her and for Ash knowing they are the only two in the house that eat those.
She pops both in the microwave and grabs three cups knowing Nic will take whatever they will drink too, she leans against the kitchen counter as her phone beeps and slides it out of her pocket smiling as she notices a text from her wife.
From Mi Vida: Clothing color for the Oscar's will be white, finally found the perfect dress. Ab's, Q, Liv and I will grab a bite and hang out for a bit, I will be home in about an hour. Te amo
To Mi Vida: Don't rush just enjoy the time with our familia love, the twins are happily spending the night with their friends, Nic is gaming and I am currently helping Ash studying for a test she has this Monday. Take a few drinks if you want, just give me a call if I need to pick you up. I love you too.
''Kids hot chocolate is done!'' She chuckles as she hears thundering footsteps nearing the kitchen and holds up two cups of hot chocolate with whipped cream, she hands Nic the bowl with sweet popcorn and kisses his cheek. ''Try to keep the controller clean please.''
''I will mommy, thank you.''
She just smiles turning to Ash as he walks off after kissing Ash softly and holds up the bowl with salty popcorn, she laughs as she smiles excitedly and follows her into the living room. ''Alright let's start.'' She breaths out as she drops down on the couch, she grabs Ash's book again and crosses her legs smiling as she cuddles into her side.
She reads through the questions she highlighted and covers the answers with a piece of paper. ''Which test is used to check the integrity of the Achilles tendon?''
''The Thompson test?''
Brittany nods her head and smiles. ''And what is the Thompson test?''
''The squeezing of the calf muscles while the person is laying down, in response to the squeezing the foot should flex downward but if the Achilles is ruptured there is no response at all.''
''That is correct.'' Brittany murmurs as she pats her leg with a proud grin. ''What is an orbital hematoma?''
''A black eye.''
''And what is the best way to cure it?''
''Apply cold to the eye to reduce the swelling.'' Ashlynn responds.
''And?''
''If there is blood, seek an eye specialist to make sure there is no major damage.''
Brittany nods her head popping a few popcorn pieces into her mouth and smiles. ''Correct.'' She murmurs. ''What is not classified as a performance enhanced drug?''
''Alcohol.'' Ashlynn holds up her hand and shoots her a wink. ''Because it impairs physical and cognitive abilities. Substances like beta blockers, steroids and hormones are known to enhance the performance.''
She laughs as Brittany just nods her head with a proud grin and cuddles into her side, she kisses her cheek as she leans her cheek on the top of her head and sighs contently. ''Thank you mom.'' She murmurs. ''You definitely make my studies a tad bit easier.''
''Anytime kiddo.'' Brittany whispers affectionately as she kisses the top of her head, let's go through a few more questions before calling it a night. She looks down at the book as she nods her head and takes a sip of her hot chocolate searching for more difficult questions so Ash is really prepared for the test.
Four hours later
Brittany tilts her head back as she hears the front door close and smiles slightly as she hears her wife drop her keys into the bowl, she glances down at the teens cuddled up against her smiling as she sees their intertwined hands on her abs and glances back up as she hears footsteps nearing them.
''Hey mi amor.'' Santana whispers softly as she snaps a picture of the three spread out on the couch, she leans over the back of the couch to kiss her softly and chuckles as she smiles knowingly. ''Dan drove me home.'' She whispers softly.
''How was your night?'' Brittany asks softly as Santana walks around the couch, she smiles as she settles down on top of her after sliding underneath the teens intertwined hands and watches her kiss their heads.
''Fun.'' Santana murmurs. ''We all drank a bit too much but Dan drove us all home, we did find all our dresses so now we only need to find an outfit for you, the boys and Ash.''
''I already ordered mine and I have to try it on tomorrow.'' Brittany murmurs as she rubs her back. ''So we only need to go shopping for the boys and Ash.''
''What did you order?''
Brittany just looks at her and smirks. ''Something white.''
''Baaabe.''
She laughs and kisses her forehead. ''Patience baby, you will see it soon enough.''
Santana rolls her eyes and sighs. ''Alright.'' She whispers. ''What did the three of you do tonight?''
''Enjoyed a much needed mommy and teen night.'' Brittany muses. ''After helping Ash studying for the test coming up, we both joined Nic in here and instead of gaming we decided to start watching Charmed and they fell asleep about an hour ago.''
''Wait you started Charmed without me?'' Santana pouts.
''You know I can watch it over and over again love.'' Brittany breaths out chuckling. ''And judging their reactions, they can too.''
''Any plans for tomorrow?''
''No none that I know of why?''
''Want to spend a mommy, mami and teens day with junk food and TV?''
''Yeah we can ask them if they have something planned, but I think they would love to spend a weekend in too.'' She nuzzles their noses together as she hums softly and smiles as she watches her dimples appear. ''Want to stay down here with them or move up?''
''Stay.''
They both turn as they hear Ash's tired mumble and chuckles softly as she just moves closer to cuddle into them while tightening her hold on Nic's hand, Santana turns back to Brittany as they hear her soft snore and laughs softly. ''You heard her.''
Brittany hums in agreement her eyes shining in amusement and lovingly kisses her forehead. ''Want to watch something?''
''Nah let's cuddle up and sleep.'' Santana whispers. ''Do I have to move?''
Brittany nods her head and moves the blanket up so it's covering the four of them. ''Nah I am pretty comfy right now.'' She replies softly as Santana nuzzles her head under her chin, she smiles as she feels the teens snuggle even closer and kisses their heads. ''I hope they will always love our familia cuddle nights.''
''I think we will still lay like this in ten years babe.'' Santana breaths out chuckling. ''But maybe we might have an adorable little bundle with dark hair and green eyes cuddled into them and the twins right beside us.''
''If they continue sticking together like they do now, they will be one of the relationship goals everyone talks about.'' Brittany agrees softly. ''As long as they don't allow people putting their noses into their relationship, nothing will break them up and I do think that they will be awesome parents in the future.''
''They definitely will be.'' Santana agrees tiredly, she kisses Brittany's pulse point and sighs as Nic's and Ash's soft snoring fills the otherwise silent room. ''I don't think I can keep my eyes open any longer.''
Brittany laughs softly and kisses her head. ''I know, go to sleep love.'' She whispers. ''I love you.''
''I love you too Britt-Britt, good night.''
''Good night San.''
She smiles as she feels her relax almost immediately knowing the cocktails she smelled caused her to feel sleepy long before she arrived home and smiles as she feels Nic and Ash intertwine their hands on Santana's back right on top of her own.
She grabs her phone with her free hand making sure to dim the screen and opens Instagram as she notices that her wife, Liv, Ab's and Q posted something. She double taps the pictures they posted of their ladies night, smiling lovingly as she sees their big happy smiles and nuzzles her nose in Santana's dark locks as she feels Ash and Nic's heads on her shoulders.
She opens her own page after scrolling down her timeline and taps the button to post something, she scrolls down her pictures tapping the family pictures they took during the twins birthdays.
Nothing makes our hearts swell with pride more than watching the four of you do what you love and were meant to do.
Watching our four kids find their hobbies and build their future career will always be our favorite thing, soon our two teens will both rock college and our twins will enter middle school.
Our twins are enjoying life and look up at their two older siblings, Oli found his love in acting with his mami and joins her whenever she has a scene she can shoot with him. We still want him to be a kid though so he won't enter the business himself and only join his mami whenever we both think that it won't stress him out.
QT absolutely loves soccer and playing with the Mini Angels, soon he will join Coach Samantha Evans and rock the field keeping the little Angels at the top like his big brother did.
Nic just received a full ride to his dream college with a spot in the basic eleven of their soccer team, San and I are so incredibly proud watching him rock life, watch him be the loving young man we knew he would be and we can't wait to see what the future brings him.
Ash just entered her first year of college also with a full ride and spot in the basic eleven and she absolutely loves it, she picked the same degree I studied for so we often sit together and study for an important test to make sure she is fully prepared.
My partner in crime is also living life to the fullest and since a week she can proudly call herself an Oscar nominee and I am sure she will bring the award home, watching her receive offers to film a biography or memorial movie about a world star makes me so incredibly proud.
I often receive the question if I regret the choices I made after our twins were born, if I miss being Blue Diamond and if I would pick that back up after the Whitney Movie. The answer is no..
No I don't regret any of the choices I made, the choices I made allowed me to be at home with our children while my wife continues rising up the ladder of fame. It allowed me to watch my wife be as successful as ever and receive a lot of amazing movie offers.
It allows me to watch my children grow up, to be there for them whenever they need me and I still work whenever I want. Since the beginning of this month I took over coaching the Angels so Chris and Claire can coach the National team and I still run my restaurant, the crew does all the work but I still do all the administrative things from home to make it a bit easier for Marley, Kitty and Jay.
I still join Marley and Kitty to our yearly James Beard contest and aside from that I also join my wife on set some days. Blue diamond is still retired but Santana knows that she only has to ask and I will pack the turntables out to mix a song or two for her.
The choices I made makes our family so amazing, I have a lot of time with our children and it makes sure Santana isn't overwhelmed with her career and private life. Sure she isn't home a lot whenever she has a movie or series to shoot, but she plans her shooting herself and makes sure she is home often too.
We will have an insanely strong bond with my sister in laws, Quinn and their children, we still have twice a month a weekend at my in laws house and every holiday, birthday or anniversary she has off so we can spend time together.
Currently she lessened her own work load so I can concentrate on training the Angels, she is home a lot but now I am gone most of the time. It often seems like Santana isn't home at all but that is far from the truth, she is still home every night to tuck our kids in or help our teens with their homework, we still go out on dates and spend time alone because we need it and most of all we still have nights filled with conversations about god and the world because we need it.
You all see only a tiny bit of our relationship in the open but we keep a lot of things private because we want it like that, we both have one simple rule and that is Don't lie we openly speak about everything no matter how it affects the other.
We show the other how we feel, we talk about everything and sure we also have discussions but we make sure to keep the conversation going and to not walk away until we cleared everything.
I still meant what I said in the beginning though, a real relationship comes with discussions, tears and a hell of a lot of stones thrown in our paths. For some it's easy to walk away from all of it but only people that truly love each other fight and that is what San and I do.
The past Eleven years we had a lot of amazing times but also quite a few hard times, without Santana I would have never mastered them like I did, she is not only the love of my life and my partner in crime but also my rock.
There is no I in our marriage, we communicate and decide together. We have four kids together and making decisions alone would only cause stress within our lives, even when she is on set she still knows what is going on at home and we work together to keep our family safe and happy.
''Baby go to sleep.''
She looks down at Santana as she hears her soft mumble and kisses her head. ''I will love, go back to sleep.'' She whispers lovingly, she returns back to her phone and chuckles knowing this is the first very long post she wrote.
I think I wrote too much, whenever I talk about my wife and kids I can't shut up.
