AN: Another Steroline story and it's totally AU story and all Human. In this story Caroline is not a Forbes. She's Mikelson. As in the youngest sister of Elijah, Klaus, Kol and Rebekah. Both Michael and Esther are alive. The Mikelson's own a family Restaurant in New Orleans Called The Mikelson's. So basically the story will be set in New Orleans instead of Mystic Falls. Mostly every TVD and Originals Characters will be in the story. I'm planning on updating this story Every Friday or at least Saturday. Also I'm going to try my hardest to make the chapters longer. But I can't make any promises.
Summary: Caroline Mikelson is a College student at Whitmore College and she's about to spend her summer vacation back in New Orleans with her family. Caroline ends up running into her Older brother's best friend Stefan Salvatore, who happens to be on a date at her family's restaurant. Caroline always had a crush on Stefan when she was in high school. But she never did anything about it, mainly because he was Klaus' best friend and she didn't think Stefan would want to date a Freshman. So She never said anything and kept her distance. But now after seeing Stefan again, her feelings for him are coming back and this time it's going to be even more harder to stay away from this time. Especially since He hired Her to host a catering for his girlfriend's dinner party, who Caroline doesn't like and very suspicious about her. Can Caroline truly stay away from Stefan? Or will she risk it and finally tell Stefan how she truly feels about him? Will Stefan feel the same way? Or is Caroline destined to be alone forever?
After packing her last and third suitcase and after zipping it up, Caroline lifted the suitcase up and off her bed and set it down on the floor before she rolled it and placed it with her two suitcases along with her carry-on bag by the door of her dorm, which she shares with her two roommates Liv Parker and Bonnie Bennett, who also happen to be her very close friends. Of course, she has her very best friends back in New Orleans. Elena and Katherine. Elena Salvatore is a doctor; she owns her own medical clinic, and she happens to be married to Damon Salvatore, who owns his own bar. The older brother of Stefan Salvatore. Then there's Katherine, who isn't just her best friend, but Caroline's sister-in-law. Katherine is married to Klaus. In the next twenty-four hours, Caroline is about to get on a plane and fly back home for the summer to spend time with her friends and family. Of course, she might end up running into Stefan again.
Caroline knew Stefan back in high school when she was a freshman and he was a senior. She remembered that Stefan used to hang out at her house with her brother every day after school; they were best friends. Caroline also remembered when she started liking Stefan, really liking him. However, since he was her older brother's best friend and a senior, Caroline decided to keep her feelings for him to herself and never said anything. Caroline placed both hands against her face as she groaned; she didn't understand why she was suddenly thinking of Stefan all of a sudden. She hadn't spoken to Stefan since her high school graduation and had only seen him once more, a week before she left for college in Georgia, Atlanta.
Caroline's parents wanted her to attend a community college in New Orleans. However, Caroline wanted to attend an out-of-state university in Atlanta, and after much persuasion, they agreed to pay for her college tuition. Caroline is majoring in journalism so she can become a broadcast journalist. The only issue with this plan is that her parents also want Caroline to take over their family restaurant with her brothers and sister, once they eventually retire; however, Caroline has different aspirations and does not wish to own a family restaurant.
Both Bonnie and Liv walked into the dorm after they came back from their double date with their boyfriends, Tyler and Enzo, when they noticed Caroline was sitting on her bed with her face against her hands.
" Care, you okay?" Bonnie asked with a chuckle.
" You look like you're freaking out or something." Liv said with a snort.
Caroline blew out a breath as she dropped her hands in her lap." I am freaking out. I just realized that I might end up running into someone that I'm really not ready to see yet." She mumbles as she looks down.
" Who?" Both Bonnie and Liv asked at the same time.
Caroline shrugs her shoulders a little." Just someone."
" Like an old boyfriend perhaps?" Bonnie asked with a smirk.
Caroline sighs exasperatedly as she rolled her eyes." More like an old friend."
" So, who is he?"Bonnie asked as she was dying to know who Caroline's old friend is.
" Yeah, Care who's your mystery friend?" Liv asked as she wiggle her eyebrows.
" His name is Stefan Salvatore." Caroline answered with a sigh.
" He sounds hot." Bonnie said with a huge grin on her face.
Caroline snorted and shook her head."You know, for someone who has a boyfriend already, you're very curious about Stefan for some reason."She said with a laugh.
" Hey, just because I'm dating one of the hottest guys on campus, doesn't mean that I can't be curious." Bonnie said with a smirk.
" Come on Care, just tell us, is he hot or not?"Liv asked as she also wanted to know.
Caroline huffed out as she answered Liv's question. "Yes, Stefan Salvatore is hot. Happy now?"
Oh! We're very happy," Liv says with a smirk.
So why were you freaking out about seeing Stefan again?" Bonnie asked, still unable to understand why Caroline would be afraid to see an old friend, even if that old friend was hot.
Caroline sighs deeply as she started to explain to her roommates about why She's totally freaking out." When I first met Stefan, it was in High school of course. I was a freshman and he was a senior. He and my brother Klaus were like best friends. Still are. Well, anyway. Stefan would always come over to our house every day after school. He even worked at my family's restaurant on the weekends. Mom had hired him as a bust boy."
Bonnie said with a smirk, "You totally had a crush on him."
Caroline nods her head." Yeah, I did. But he never knew though."
" Why haven't you told him?" Liv asked.
Caroline sighs again." Because he's like my brother's best friend and besides that he would never go with a girl like me." Even though Caroline had feelings for Stefan, she never would have thought he could ever had feelings for her.
" You've got to show us what he looks like, I mean you got pictures right?" Bonnie asked with a smile.
Caroline sighed, rolled her eyes, and grabbed her cell phone. Opening the Facebook app, she opened her photos. "These are from my high school graduation last year," she said, handing the phone over to Bonnie.
" Damn girl, I was right. He is hot." Bonnie said with a smirk as she kept scrolling through Caroline's photos to see more of her friend.
" Are you sure that you never slept with him?" Liv asked as she was also looking through the photos.
Caroline sighed and rolled her eyes."Yes, I am sure I never slept with him," Caroline said. "Besides, I couldn't even sleep with him even if I wanted to."
" Why not? I mean if you're into him. Why wouldn't you?" Bonnie asked curiously.
Because he's my brother's best friend, and like I mentioned in the beginning of this conversation, Stefan doesn't even know that I like him in that way," Caroline answered as she set her cell phone down on her nightstand.
" I got an early flight tomorrow morning, so I'm going to get some sleep." She said as she climbed into her bed and got under the covers. Turning her lamp off after she laid down. Caroline sighs deeply as she's not sure what's going to happen once she sees Stefan again. It's only been a year since she saw him and she honestly doesn't know what to expect.
Sitting at the New Orleans Airport waiting for Caroline's plane to land. Rebekah kept checking her phone every five minutes as she was so anxious and excited to see her little sister again, especially after the Holidays. They've talked over the phone and video chatted a few times during the past few months. But Caroline is staying for the whole summer and Rebekah can't wait.
Rebekah and Caroline are only a few years apart from each other, but they've always been close. They're more than sisters; they're best friends. Growing up with two older brothers, Elijah and Klaus, and their little brother Kol, who's only a year younger than Caroline, all the boys had each other while Rebekah and Caroline had each other.
Rebekah and Caroline did everything together; they hung out with the same group of friends in high school. They would go to the mall and go shopping together. They even shared each other's secrets with one another. Yes, Rebekah knows that Caroline has had this huge crush on Stefan Salvatore since forever, and she also knows that Caroline is too scared to tell him, mainly because she's afraid of what Klaus might do if he ever finds out.
" What time is her flight supposed to land?" Rebekah asked as she was checking the time once more.
Klaus sighed as he continued to flip through the magazine he had picked up from the rack. "Soon, in like about thirty minutes," he replied, finally closing the magazine and tossing it to the side. "You're excited, aren't you?" Klaus asked with a grin, unable to help but teasing his sister for a moment.
Rebekah sighs with an eye roll." Of course, I'm excited Nik. I mean our little sister is coming home today and the best part is that she's home for the entire summer. Aren't you excited?" She asked with a smirk.
You know I'm excited," he said with a chuckle. "I just love to tease you about it."
Rebekah playfully slapped Klaus on his arm as she snorted a laugh and shook her head. Of all her brothers, Klaus was always Rebekah's favorite brother. They always had that special bond. It had been like that since they were kids, ever since Klaus gave Rebekah his favorite wooden toy for protection.
" She's here." Rebekah said as she spotted Caroline walking towards them. Rebekah jumped out of her seat as she was the first one to greet their sister with a tight hug." Welcome home sis." Rebekah said as she let's Caroline go.
" Thanks Bex." Caroline said as she turned to Klaus." Hey there big brother." She said with a smile as she walked up to him and threw her arms around him as she gave him the biggest hug.
" It's so good to see you little sister." Klaus said as he let's Caroline go." Come on let's go home. Everyone is already at the house waiting and Mom has already made lunch." He said as he took both of Caroline's suitcases and headed out of the airport.
Rebekah locked arms with Caroline as they followed Klaus. "Oh, I talked to Elena and she said that she and Hayley are going to a nightclub later tonight. Wanna go?" She asked as they stepped into the parking lot of the airport.
"Hell yeah!" Caroline exclaimed with a huge grin on her face. It was her first night back home, and she would rather spend it going out and hanging out with her best friends. She knew that she was probably going to have to work at the restaurant with the family. But hopefully, she wouldn't have to work all summer.
AN2 : I know you guys are probably wondering why I'm making Caroline a sister of Klaus Mikelson? Let's just say I secretly always thought of Caroline and Rebekah as sisters, and this is a Steroline story I just thought it would work in this story. Also just go with it lol. I also know everyone is having problems with Fanfiction, so I'm not going to worry about reviews. But if you can send them, that would be awesome. Because I love reading them as much I love receiving them. Believe it or not but they do inspire me to update more often.
