Chapter 33: Tale of Two Mountains and One Volcano
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. After seeing the new Monster High series and the Ben 10 series I've been trying to figure out new ideas and ways to expand and make this story better and I like to think I figured it out. Also I'm happy to say this story has over 400 followers and favorites! Whoo! Thanks for all the support guys! Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves in the halls of Monster High as Draculaura was giving Gil a tour.
"This is the main hall at Monster High. You'll be spending a lot of time here between classes." Draculaura said before gesturing to a locker. "And this is your locker. Complete with Monster High Care Package."
Opening it we see Webby and Daiman with a stack of notebooks and both fire confetti out greeting out.
"Whoa. What is that thing?" Gil asks examining Daiman curiously.
"Oh that's Daiman a Baby Chill. Sorry but he's all mine." Draculaura said as it nuzzled her.
"I've never seen a monster like that before. Where did it come from?" Gil said.
"Funny story actually." Draculaura admits.
Their next stop was the classroom.
"And this is a room full of classmates who cannot wait to meet you. Everyone say hi to our new classmate, Gil." Draculaura introduced.
"Hi Gi!" They all waved.
"The Omni Trackers and Jinafire just rescued him from a tropical island with an active volcano." Draculaura explains.
"I want to go to a tropical island." Cleo sighs.
"I want to go to an active volcano." Rathe said as he and Deuce looked at them interested.
"It was pretty creeperific. Surfing in the morning, walks on the beach in the afternoon, sand between your webbed toes. Then all of a sudden the volcano acts up." Gil sighs making Draculaura frown. "But Monster High is pretty clawsome so far."
"You're really going to miss your home huh?" Draculaura asks.
"Yeah and I'd hate to see what that volcano is going to do to such a beautiful home." Gil said.
"Wait…what if there was a way to save your island?" Draculaura suggests.
"Yes!" Cleo said standing up eagerly. "Let's save that island! I didn't get to go yet."
Narrowing their eyes, Draculaura, Gil, Frankie and Gop glared at her.
"Uh also the cheer up Gil thing." She recovers.
Making their way to the library we see Drake and Jinafire talking to Dracula.
"We don't know what monster it was. But it was on that island." Drake said.
"Impossible, I only found Gil on that island." Dracula said.
"We know what we saw. We chased her through the island but somehow, she outmaneuvered us." Jinafire recalls.
"I don't know any monsters that meet that description." Dracula said.
"Come on there must be something we're missing. This monster had pink skin, her eyebrows looked like little antlers and she was able to stretch her body like a rubber band." Drake said.
"That's no monster. That's an alien." Rook said popping his head out from behind a bookcase.
"Wait what?" Jinafire said as he walked over.
"It sounds like you ran into a Kraaho, but that doesn't make sense. Kraaho inhabit areas with intense heat, even a tropical island would be the equivalent of a frozen wasteland." Rook said equally confused.
"Well we saw one." Drake said.
"Interesting. I need to look into this." Rook said heading off to the Plumber base.
As he left, Frankie, Draculaura, Cleo, Clawdeen, Gil and Lagoona joined them.
Bringing up Gil's island on the computer Dracula showed them the status.
"The satellite shows the volcano has not yet erupted but there's not much time left to save the island. Oh and let's see…you have all gone completely batty and what makes think I'll let you go on Volcano adventures?!" Dracula asks.
"Oh come on. Give us a chance Mr. Dracula." Clawdeen begs. "Anyone have any idea how to pull this off?"
Pausing all of them tried to think of a solution.
"Why don't you just freeze it?" Raythe suggests.
Looking up they saw him and Raythe nearby.
"That's ridiculous. And where did you guys come from?" Lagoona asks.
"Oh we just show up wherever volcanos are being discussed." Deuce said.
"Hold on a second. Raythe might have a good point. If Drake goes Big Chill we can freeze the volcano." Frankie said.
"Not a bad idea, but what if I time out? Or it's too much. We're gonna need more than one ice source." Drake said.
"Then we need to find another source of ice powers somewhere." Jinafire said.
"I can't believe I'm about to do this." Dracula mutters getting their attention. "There is a rumor that the Abominable Snow Monster had a daughter. A ghoul who harnesses the power of ice."
"That's perfect." Drake smiles.
"Omni-Trackers we have our next mission." Draculaura declares.
"Save the Snow Monster and Save the Island." Frankie said.
"And save my weekend." Cleo said.
"Excuse me but I would like to accompany you on this mission." Jinafire said getting their attention.
"For real?" Clawdeen asks.
"My mission was to help with the island and it is not yet finished." Jinafire said.
"By all means Jinafire." Drake nods making her smile.
"Don't worry Gil, the Omni-Trackers and on the job." Draculaura assures taking out the Mapalouge.
"Abominable Exto Monstrum!" They said before teleporting away.
"Awesome." Both boys said when Ari and Gigi came in.
"Raythe, Deuce we've been looking all over for you." Ari said.
"Sorry Ari, volcanos are being discussed." Deuce said.
"Well you two promised to help me with my new music video and I have 5 million diehard fans who are expecting to see it tonight." Ari explains.
"I heard most of what you said but then my mind went back to Volcano." Raythe said when Deuce gasps.
"Which gives me the idea for the hottest video idea ever." Deuce grins.
"Should I be excited or nervous about this?" Gigi asks.
Appearing in the Himalayas, Drake and the ghouls were hit with a cold gust of wind making Cleo's hat and sunglasses blow off.
"Sure you take Jinafire on a mission and you get to go to a tropical island, but when I come along I freeze my bandages off." Cleo shivers.
"We should have dressed for this." Drake shivers.
Breathing fire into her hands, Jinafire warmed herself up.
"Aw much better." She smiles.
"Anyone with a clue on how to find her?" Lagoona asks.
"Well, the Mapalogue teleported us between these two mountains." Draulaura said gesturing to two large mountains in front of them. One was icy and the other was snowy.
"I bet our lost ghoul is on one of them." Frankie assumes.
"Perfect Drake can go Big Chill and be up and down those easily." Cleo said.
"Good idea." Drake turned on the watch and flipped it. "Let's go!"
Slamming down on it, Drake ended up turning into Four Arms instead.
"Ugh sometimes I hate this stupid watch." Four Arms groans. "You know what forget it. I can work with this."
"Fine plan b. Drake, you Frankie and Cleo take that mountain. Lagoona, Clawdeen, Jinafire, and I will check this one." Draculaura said going to the mountain on the right.
"Hold on. Your group has 4 and our group only has 3. We should take the icy mountain and you take the snowy mountain."
"Okay." They said changing directions.
"Wait. I changed my mind. Let's go with the original." Cleo said.
"Fine." Draculaura said as they changed again.
"Wait hang on." Cleo starts.
"Pick a mountain!" All of them snap.
"Alright. Alright. Icy mountain." Cleo points as they headed off.
Back at Monster High, Ari was strumming her guitar as Gigi was humming a song.
"Hey! Clear the way in the old Bazaar Hey you, let us through it's a brand-new star Oh, come be the first on your block to meet his eye." Gigi mumbles.
"What was that?" Ari asks interested.
"Oh it's uh little song I came up with. When Drake opened my lamp I had a backup plan to parade through the tombs pretending to be a Prince. Guess I came up with a song for it." Gigi giggles.
"You really like Drake huh?" Ari asks curiously.
"He is my finder. And I'll be honest he's given more freedom than all my previous ones. And he's only used 1 wish so far. He's different." Gigi said.
"No arguments there." Ari said when Deuce and Raythe pushed in a giant paper mache volcano. "Uh what is that?"
"A volcano. Here you two are gonna need these." Raythe said handing them both goggles.
"Okay, better question why a volcano?" Gigi asks.
"Don't you want this rock music video to be the hottest thing ever?" Raythe asks.
"Well, nothing's hotter or rockier than a volcano." Deuce declares.
"I didn't mean literally though." Ari said looking at Gigi. "I don't suppose you could…you know?"
"Unless Drake gives me the okay there's only so much I can do. Plus they'd notice if it was gone." Gigi shrugs.
Back on the icy mountain, we see Four Arms clawing his way up the mountain with 2 arms while he held Cleo and Frankie in the other two arms.
"We should have…picked the other mountain." Four Arms growls.
"I'm so cold." Cleo shivers as Four Arms puts them down briefly.
"Time is of the essence. We need to find that snow ghoul." Frankie said.
"Ugh I can't feel my fingers." Four Arms said rubbing his palms. "I wish I had gone Heatblast or even Swampfire."
"Frankie can you make a little electricity? Warm us up with a little sparky spark." Cleo suggests.
"You want me to zap you?" Frankie asks confused.
"Not me, just the area near us. To warm us up." Cleo points out.
"Hmm not a bad idea." Four Arms said.
As Frankie made a small ball of electricity it backfired causing the ice around them to crack.
Screaming the ghouls were about to fall but Four Arms caught them before they plummeted.
"That was close." Cleo whimpers.
"If we're having this much trouble I can only imagine what the others must be going through." Frankie assumes.
However, on the other mountain Draculaura, Clawdeen, Lagoona, and Jinafire were enjoying themselves as they strolled along the beautiful snowy path.
"Hmm this is nice." Jinafire smiles.
"Everybody say Selfie." Lagoona said taking out her iCoffin.
"Selfie!" All of them said posing for it before making their way to the top.
"Okay we made it to the top of the mountain but does anyone see any clues to where our lost monster is?" Draculaura asks.
Looking around Clawdeen spotted something.
"How about that clue?" CLawdeen asks pointing to an ice cave with a door.
"Pretty good if you ask me." Draculaura said.
"This is much easier than my last one. Are finding lost monsters usually this easy?" Jinafire asks.
"Hmm depends really. Sometimes they are sometimes they aren't." Lagoona shrugs.
As Draculaura knocks on the door a few times a large shadow appears on the other side of the door.
"Who goes there?" A female voice asks.
Jinafire was about to take a fighting stance when Clawdeen stops her.
"Uh she does." Clawdeen said.
"Visitors!" Opening the door we see the shadow as a teenage ghoul around their size with light blue skin, white hair and winter wear. This was Abbey Bominable. "I never get visitors. Please come." She said letting them in.
Looking around they saw the entire place was made of ice, even the furniture.
"May I offer you an ice seat? Snow cone? Frozen Pizza? I am Abbey Bominable by the way." She said.
"Actually Abbey we're here to invite you to a clawsome place called Monster High but first…" Clawdeen said nervously.
"We kinda need your help first." Lagoona admits confusing her.
"We need your ice powers to freeze a volcano before it destroys our friend's island." Draculaura said.
"You ghouls are making a joke. Now I laugh. Ha ha." Abbey said before noticing the expressions on their face. "You're not joking?"
"Not even a little." Jinafire said.
"You need ice powers? I am your ghoul. Now let's make that volcano chill out." Abbey said making snow appear but no one responded. "You do not laugh at my joke?"
Immediately Clawdeen, Draculaura and Lagoona laughed while Jinafire just tilted her head.
"That was a joke?" She said confused.
"Alright, but before we leave we need to pick up our friends on that other mountain." Draculaura reminds.
"You have friends on that mountain?" Abbey asks worriedly.
"You make that sound like a bad thing." Clawdeen said.
"Very bad thing." Abbey assured when they heard three screams coming from the other mountain.
Back at Monster High we see Gigi and Ari looking up at whatever the heck Deuce and Raythe were doing atop their fake volcano.
"Uh is this safe?" Gigi asks.
"Duh we're wearing safety glasses." Deuce said in an obvious tone.
"I got to be honest I was picturing something a lot simpler. Like I don't know dancing and singing with some ghoul friends." Ari said.
"Right, right. That could work but I'm not hearing a lot of volcano in that idea." Raythe said.
"You know not everything has to be about volcanos." Gigi said.
"It doesn't but it can be." Deuce said as they jumped down.
"Alright ready, set, cue the hot rock!" Raythe said turning it on the volcano causing it to rumble loudly.
"That doesn't sound good." Gigi said.
"Maybe we used too much fake lava." Raythe said as it exploded spewing fake lava.
"Ya think!" Ari said.
As Gigi jumped up onto the stairs she narrowly avoids being buried under fake lava, but Raythe, Deuce and Ari weren't so lucky.
"Is everyone okay?" Gigi asks as Raythe and Deuce popped their heads out.
"We're alive. Wait where's Ari?" Raythe asks not seeing her anywhere.
"Oh no we volcano'd her." Deuce panics when Ari suddenly phases through the fake lava completely unharmed.
"Escaping fake lava is one of the best things about being a ghost." Aria smiles.
Sighing in relief, everyone was okay.
Back on the ice mountain, Four Arms was running for his life while Cleo and Frankie held onto him tightly.
"We definetly should have taken the other mountain!" Cleo yells as the ice broke behind them.
"We got to get off this crazy mountain!" Four Arms said suddenly the Omnitrix logo began to beep.
"Oh no, not that sound." Cleo cringed as Four Arms turned back into Drake and the three of them stumbled towards the edge.
"Okay maybe that watch does hate you." Frankie groans.
Slowly getting up they saw a crack form in front of them.
"Whatever you do don't step on that crack." Drake cringed.
However, the crack grew instantly causing a giant ice rock to fall toward them.
"Oh come on mountain! I didn't even step on the crack!" Cleo whines.
Suddenly Jinafire jumped in and breathed fire melting the rock instantly.
"Jinafire." Drake smiles.
"How did you?" Frankie asks Abbey slid in on an ice ramp with the others right behind her.
"Hey look I found the ice ghoul." Cleo points and everyone deadpans.
"A human?" Abbey said surprised when the cracks grew.
"Look we don't have time for this! Long story short Drake's a good human, we all go to school and we need to get to the island now." Jinafire said.
"Wait doesn't there have to be a monster on the island for the mapalogue to teleport us there?" Clawdeen asks.
"Don't worry. I remember one little monster that's still there." Draculaura said taking out the mapalogue.
Appearing back on the island, they ended up landed next to Dr. Monkenstein.
"Thank you, Dr Monkenstein." Draculaura smiles as the monkey runs away.
"Well I think we made it in time." Frankie said when Drake noticed something.
"Ghouls look over there." Drake points.
Looking over they saw Ester near Gil's shack.
"Whoa this is cool." She said picking up a board.
"Freeze!" Drake calls out.
Turning around Ester sees Jinafire breathing flames at her feet forcing her to jump.
When she did Cleo's bandages wrapped around her legs causing her to trip.
Looking up she saw Drake, Jinafire, Abbey and the Omni-Trackers surround her.
"Oh hey it's you two. See you brought some friends." Ester smirks.
"This is the ghoul you were chasing this whole time?" Frankie asks.
"She's not a monster. She's an alien." Drake said.
"Ooh someone's done his research." Ester said stretching out of the bandages.
"Whoa never seen someone do that before." Lagoona said.
"I guess you two didn't like my first impression but if you're heading to the volcano I can't let you do that." Kraaho said.
"You want the volcano to stay active?" Draculaura asks.
"Of course, my tribe needs it that way. We just made base." Kraaho said.
"Wait you mean to say you guys are the reason the volcano is this way?" Clawdeen realized.
"I knew you were trouble." Jinafire said.
"Look I'm sorry for messing with you two earlier but you were trying to steal from me." Ester said.
"You mean what you stole first." Jinafire glares.
"Hey I needed it for the Kraaho." Ester said.
"You mean there are more of you?" Clawdeen asks looking around.
"The Kraaho are in the volcano they can't bother us out here. It's too cold." Ester said.
"No. No. Abbey know cold. This not cold." Abbey said.
"Rook said that the Kraaho need extreme heat but you seem just fine." Drake said.
"I'm only half Kraaho. For me, it's just a little nippy." Ester stretches.
"So why did you steal that Fusion Core?" Frankie asks.
"My people needed that to keep warm. And with the volcano active they can stay that way." Ester explains.
"Oh so I guess now that they have what they want no more trouble huh?" Cleo asks.
"Exactly. No harm no foul." Ester said.
"I don't know. Something about this doesn't feel right." Jinafire narrows her eyes.
"Well I mean you did explain everything to us and as long as the volcano doesn't ruin the island." Drake said.
"See? This guy gets it. You girls are just overthinking it." Ester smirks.
"But what if the volcano erupts?" Clawdeen asks.
"It's not gonna erupt. My tribe leader Seebek assured me it was just so we could get our new home set up." Ester assures.
However little did Ester know, she was completely wrong.
Inside the volcano, several Kraaho were using the Fusion Core that Ester took and hooking it up to a large drill device.
Observing all of this was an adult male Kraaho with a blue jacket. This was Seebek.
Walking up behind a large husky Kraaho approached him. This was Lackno.
"It's ready." Lackno breathes heavily.
"Fire the laser!" Seebek orders.
Turning it on the laser fires down deep into the volcano.
"How long will this take? I'm so cold I've got frostbite on my—" Lackno starts.
"Not now! Enough with the how cold it is jokes." Seebek snaps.
"My frostbite." Lackno finished.
"Seebek, we've struck magma." A kraaho informs.
"Here we go. Activate the pumps." Seebek orders as multiple geysers of lava shot out of the ground. "Finally." He smiles as the Kraaho were able to take off their winter wear.
"Yeah I was so cold that—" Pausing Lackno saw Seebek glaring at him and shuts up. "Nevermind."
"Now let's clear some room for the topside." Seebek said. "It's time to make our new home perfect."
On the surface, they all suddenly felt a loud rumble as a small geyser of lava flowed nearby surprising all of them, especially Ester.
"Abbey!" Clawdeen gasps.
Using her ice powers, Abbey stopped the lava before is spread.
"I swear I didn't know!" Ester panics.
"That your people would use the Fusion Engine to do this? They're gonna destroy the whole island." Frankie said.
"They told me they just wanted to make things warmer." Ester said.
"Where?" Jinafire asks.
"You're asking me to betray my people." Ester said.
"Ester please, if we don't stop them you're gonna destroy Gil's, Dr. Monkenstein and whatever is else is on this islands' home." Drake begs.
"There's a giant cavern near the base of the volcano. Follow me." Ester said running ahead.
"Are things usually things crazy?" Abbey asks.
"With us, all the time." Clawdeen said.
Inside the volcanic cavern, we see several Kraaho in heavy winter wear enjoying the lava pools the Fusion core made.
"You've done it Seebek. You've turned this Frozen Wasteland into an oasis!" Lackno smiles.
"And once we have enough power this whole Island will be ours. How does the name Kraaho Island strike you?" Seebek asks when a loud gasp echoes.
Turning around they saw Ester storm in.
"Seebek!" Ester yells approaching him. "You lied to me!"
"How long can we stay in this cavern? A generation or two? We need an island, a home." Seebek declares.
"This island doesn't belong to you. You can't roast it." Ester said.
"It is not up for debate! My word is law!" Seebek declares.
Nearby the Omni-Trackers were spying on this. Looking to the watch, Drake activates.
"Turn me into Wildvine and I swear to god you're dead." Drake threatens before slamming down on the watch and turning into Big Chill.
"Do all humans do that?" Abbey asks amazed.
"Nope, just Drake." Draculaura giggles.
"You ghouls create a diversion while Abbey and I head for the core." Big Chill said.
Nodding Frankie, Cleo, Draculaura, Clawdeen, Jinafire, and Lagoona made their way toward the crowd.
"Hey you!" Clawdeen calls out getting their attention.
"If you want this island you're gonna have to stop us first!" Lagoona calls out.
"Get them!" Seebek orders the Kraaho charged at them.
"That's our cue ghouls!" Draculaura turns into a bat and flies away.
Turning into a wolf, Clawdeen turned and ran.
"You brought them here? Your father would be ashamed of you." Seebek said glaring at Ester.
Firing her bandages, Cleo ties up two at their feet causing them to trip.
"All I wanted was an island vacation! And you ruined it!" Cleo said.
Nearby Frankie was dodging ones fire before zapping him with electricity.
Flying around Draculaura dove in and distracted them allowing Clawdeen and Lagoona to charge in knocking them to the ground.
Growling in anger, Seebek went to join the fight.
Ester tried to stop him but two Kraaho grabbed her arms.
Taking a fighting stance, Jinafire punched and kicked several Kraaho away before Seebek landed across from her.
Ditching his winter wear Seebek faced her.
Taking a deep breath, Jinafire breathes fire at him forcing Seebek to duck.
Charging in she delivers a fierce roundhouse forcing him to skid back.
Lunging forward Jinafire raises her knee but Seebek catches it with one hand. Swinging her arm she nails Seebek in the face.
Growling in anger, Seebek extends his arm sending Jinafire crashing into the wall.
"Jinafire!" Ester gasps.
Seeing these ghouls, the people she had messed with were risking everything to protect this island.
Turning to the guards she extended her arms and leaped forward throwing them at Seebek forcing him to let go of Jinafire.
Gasping for air, Jinafire looks around to see the ghouls were starting to get sweaty and tired from being inside the volcano for so long.
"Drake hurry!" Jinafire calls out.
Pushing the guards off him, Seebek sees Ester charge in and clashed in the middle.
As the two Kraaho were in a lock, Seebek noticed Big Chill flying towards the drill with Abbey in his arms.
"Keep those cold cuts away from the engine!" Seebek orders.
Landing atop the drill, the two cold creatures turn to see two Kraaho land behind them.
"You know how to fight?" Big Chill asks.
"Does yak milk make a delicious snow cone flavor?" Abbey smirks.
"Uh I'll just assume you mean yes." Big Chill said confused.
As one Kraaho extended its arm and swung at Abbey she ducked under it and froze his legs causing him to cringe.
"Aww too cold?" Abbey pouts.
Before he could respond Abbey kicks him in the gut breaking the ice and sending him falling down.
While the other Kraaho swings a foot it tries to take out Big Chill but the alien caught it with ease.
"Not gonna work." Big Chill said before punching them in the face knocking the Kraaho to the ground.
Using his intangibility, Big Chill grabbed the core and held it out for him and Abbey.
"Ready? No!" Big Chill said as their combined ice powers to completely shut down the Fusion Core before destroying the machine.
Seeing he was defeated Seebek approached Ester and Big Chill who powers down and turns back into Drake.
"Well you won. Happy?" Seebek mocks.
"You haven't exactly lost. We'll do just fine here in the Hot Spot." Ester said.
"Look if you need more supplies I can talk to the Plumbers see if we can get you a link to Undertown but in the meantime you have tons of caverns all over this island and your own private lava springs." Drake gestures.
"Coexisting is not the Kraaho way." Seebek said.
"No Seebek, it's not your way, but was my father's way." Ester said getting Drake's attention.
"Who was your father?" Drake asks.
"He was the leader before Seebek, but sadly he never figured out enough on how to coexist. Couldn't teach me enough." Ester frowns.
Hearing this the Omni-Trackers got an idea.
"Well what if we taught you more?" Clawdeen asks getting her attention.
"What do you mean?" Ester asks.
"Come to Monster High. Our school is all about teaching Monsters how to coexist with humans. Maybe we can help aliens now too." Lagoona said.
"What do you say Ester want to be Monster High's first alien student?" Draculaura asks.
"Well I guess." Ester said when the tribe bowed to her.
"What's happening now?" Drake asks.
"She has defeated me, if she truly wishes to become a better leader than we must allow her to go." Seebek said.
"And?" Ester smirks.
"And the Kraaho way is now…your way." Seebek declares.
"Coexistence." Ester declares.
"And you all will allow this?" Lackno asks.
"As long as you don't try to destroy the island again I think the Plumbers won't mind." Drake said.
"As leader of the Kraaho I swear that on this day…I will always be a good ally and classmate to you Drake Rogers." Turning towards him. Ester pulls Drake into a big hug surprising him and the ghouls.
"Well this day just keeps getting interesting." Abbey said.
"That's one for it." Cleo narrows her eyes.
Flying over, Draculaura lands in between them.
"You know we should do something to celebrate this." Draculaura said getting them to separate.
"A party?" Ester said interested.
Soon tons of Monster High students had come to the island and were having a fun tropical beach party.
"Now this is a party!" Clawdeen cheers dancing.
"Is this something you do often?" Ester asks.
"At Monster High. All the time." Drake smiles as Rook walks over.
"We will be able to begin construction on transport so that your tribe can gather supplies from the Undercity and expand their volcanic caverns. As long you agree to follow these guidelines we can make it work." Rook said.
"Oh trust me I'll be checking in on them often." Ester said.
"So you think you can manage being a leader and being a student at Monster High?" Drake asks.
"I need to learn all I can about how to live on this planet. Besides this way I can hang out with you often." Ester winks causing him to blush.
"Oh uh thank you." Drake said nervously.
Nearby Gil walked up to Jinafire and Draculaura.
"Thanks for saving my home ghouls and showing me Monster High." Gil said.
"Hope you don't your new neighbors." Draculaura said.
"Hmm I'll learn to adjust." Gil shrugs.
