Previously on Dragon Ball Aftermath: Rewrite

After losing to Qube, a mysterious figure saves Omesus, taking him to safety. Meanwhile, the swarm of Frost Demons forced Zydis and Whis to retreat from their homeworld. To solve this issue before it got any worse, Zateus went all out against Qube and defeated him with a powerful True Hakai blast. When all was seemingly well, Daishinkan found out about him adopting Qhuteus, which was the last straw.

The Omni King stripped Zateus of his angelic powers and altered his memories to forget about his godhood, while also banishing him to be a mere mortal for the rest of his life. Little did he know, though, Zalama, the Dragon God, is now training Omesus and Zateus.

Chapter Thirty-Eight

In Daishinkan's palace, the Omni King would pace back and forth, thinking about the recent events. Meanwhile, all of his children, the nineteen angels, would bow before him.

He glares at them, now on edge ever since Zateus's betrayal of his trust. "I am only going to warn you about this once, and that is if you ever think about betraying or being dishonest with me, I will erase you with no hesitation."

The angels would still be shocked about what happened to their Grand Priest, but they wouldn't question his authority. "I am going to think about who will be the new Grand Priest. Cognac, Mojito, Brue (Universe 17 Angel), Sakee (Universe 19 Angel), and Martinu, you will seek the strongest mortals in your respective universes and train them to be the new Gods of Destruction, as Qube and his demons killed the previous candidates. Now leave."

They all bow and vanish from the palace, leaving him alone once again. He sighs, tapping his chin. "Perhaps... being too lenient is what led to these events in the first place. I need a second mind to help me with these decisions."

He pauses, an idea popping up in his head. "This is risky, but it could work. This young one could instill fear into the gods and mortals, preventing them from acting up again. The unpredictable nature of a childlike being... They could potentially erase everything out of boredom or anger. The gods will want to keep this one pleased and follow his orders with no question."

He raises his hand and focuses, and a small figure with a wide head forms in front of him. "Welcome to my palace, Zeno."

Zeno stumbles forward, looking around with confusion. "Who are you?"

"My name is Daishinkan, and I will be your attendant," The Omni King replies, placing a hand on Zeno's head. "You are the Omni King now."

Three years later, Omesus and Zateus exit through a portal, their clones immediately fading away. They'd remember everything that happened from both sides. Omesus yawns, now being considerably bulkier. "Finally, I've missed my home."

Zateus nods, as Zalama follows them out of the portal, looking around. "Ah, back in the real world. You both have done exceptionally well these past years."

Zateus turns toward him sadly. "Is this where we have to part ways, sensei? I liked having you as our teacher."

The Dragon God smiles, placing a hand on his student's head. "This is goodbye, for now, but I'll be back before I depart from this reality. I have a task to do. However, I have a parting gift."

He spins his staff and taps it on the ground, giving them new outfits. Omesus would have a new set of Saiyan armor that is more flexible, and Zateus would have a black robe instead of Saiyan armor. To this day, they would still wear these to honor their sensei.

The two warriors bow as Zalama waves and flies off, going across the multiverse in an instant. He stops at the Omni King's palace, opening the doors. He walks forward, seeing Daishinkan in a different attire.

He'd be wearing a dark blue, long-sleeved top, with drooping shoulder pads. "Who must you be?"

Zalama raises an eyebrow, looking to see a new figure on the throne: Zeno. The childlike god swings his legs back and forth, staring at him curiously.

"Greetings, Lord Zeno and Daishinkan," the Dragon God says, bowing in respect. "My name is Zalama, the Dragon God."

Daishinkan's eyes widen, recognizing that name. Prior to creating the multiverse, he'd heard of the Overlords and how Zalama is the second most powerful. "As in... the Overlord? What brings you here?"

"I've come to ensure events go as planned," Zalama replies casually, confusing the two. He raises his staff and powerful beams of energy splits in seven directions through the ceiling, damaging it.

Above them, planet-sized orbs form, being the Super Dragon Balls. Super Shenron flies out of them and roars, an ear-piercing sound going through the palace. Daishinkan goes up to Zalama, raising his staff. "What have you done, Dragon God?!"

Zalama wouldn't be phased by his threatening stance. "It's a gift from me. They will prove to be useful to you. They are called the Super Dragon Balls, seven wish-granting orbs the size of planets."

He waves his hand, teleporting Zeno and the Grand Priest outside of the palace, showing them Super Shenron towering over them. The dragon looks at its master and tilts its head, seemingly smiling.

The Dragon God flies up to its head, gently placing a hand on it and rubbing it. "This is Super Shenron, the most powerful entity in the multiverse. You will be able to summon him after you gather all of these orbs."

"But why are you giving us such power?" Daishinkan asks him, skeptical. "How do we know we can trust this dragon?"

Zalama looks up at Super Shenron, opening his mouth. "repuS nornehS, morf htrofecneh, nehw denommus morf eseht neves sbro, uoy lliw tnarg yna hsiw eht renommus sehsiw.'

Daishinkan nods, understanding the language of the gods. The Dragon God turns back toward them, clearing his throat. "This being is capable of even restoring universes. I'm aware Zeno has no knowledge of how to create, only destroy, which is why Super Shenron will be here to fill that role."

His face then goes serious. "So, I've heard about the events with Zateus and Omesus."

The Grand Priest looks to the side, before nodding again. "Zateus has disobeyed me, and Omesus... He's an accomplice, so I also have decided to alter his memories and strip him of his rank as the Destroyer Candidate."

"What of the Eza-... Qhuteus?" Zalama asks and Daishinkan's eyes widen, before remembering this being knows everything, being an Overlord. "I've sealed that child away. I haven't decided what to do with him yet, but I might ask Lord Zeno to erase him."

The Dragon God taps his chin. "I see... Very well, but remember he is a mere child. Do with that information what you will. I must now leave and reunite with my main body."

He walks away and taps his staff, a multicolored beam surrounding him. He looks up at Super Shenron, smiling. "uoY era dessimsid, ym dlihc." He then disappears, leaving the dragon.

Super Shenron roars and flickers before going back into the Super Dragon Balls, and spreading across Universe Seven and Six. Daishinkan and Zeno sit there, thinking of what Zalama said.

The Grand Priest walks down the steps, sighing. "That child is too powerful. I mustn't release him."

Suddenly, Whis vanishes and bows before his father. "Father, Zydis's training has finished, and, unfortunately, I haven't had the time to visit you about this, but he has used the forbidden technique three years ago."

Daishinkan spins around, his eyes wide. "Why have you delayed in telling me this news, Whis?"

"I've been preoccupied fixing the damages to universe seven," Whis replies. "I apologize, father. I've repaired the damage Zydis has done to the multiverse, and I did warn him not to use it."

The Grand Priest sighs, shaking his head. "Zydis has made a huge mistake. I've personally warned him against using it, as it could endanger the multiverse. I've always been suspicious of him because of his relationship with Omesus and Zateus."

Whis frowns. "Does this mean you're going to..."

Daishinkan turns toward him, nodding. "The other gods have also developed their own dangerous techniques that risk erasing their universes. We must set an example for the gods. My apologies, Whis, but he will not perform his duty."

Whis bows before him. "Understood, father. What will happen to Universe Seven?"

"All of these issues have originated from it," the Grand Priest replies. "The Frost Demons, the Saiyans... Twice they've created powerful beings capable of threatening the gods. Soon, we will freeze Universe Seven in time until we have more than enough power to handle these issues. I want you to gather Omesus and Zateus for the trial. They will have more information about Zydis."

Whis nods, before teleporting away.

Two hours after Zalama left, Omesus and Zateus would explore their home, having a moment's peace for a change. The two would be incredibly powerful, even more so than before.

"I'll miss Zalama-sensei dearly, but we will now be able to protect our home even better than before," Zateus says, smiling. "Maybe I can teach my new techniques to Zydis too once he comes back."

"That won't be the case," a voice says behind them. They turn to see Whis, confused. Omesus walks forward, not seeing Zydis with him. "Whis...? Where's Zydis?"

The angel closes his eyes. "He's on trial for using a strictly forbidden technique. Father has requested the two of you to attend, as his fate will be decided there."

Both the warriors' hearts skip a beat. Zateus trembles, before clenching his fists. "Will... will he die?"

"That's up to Daishinkan to decide," Whis replies. "Now come, we mustn't be late."

He taps his staff, taking them to a different palace than before that Daishinkan built shortly after giving up his title. Minutes later, they arrive, alongside the rest of the gods of the nineteen universes. They watch as Zydis walks up to his throne, bowing down in front of it.

"Zydis, the god of destruction of universe seven. It is now time to decide your fate for using a strongly forbidden destruction technique," Daishinkan says, walking forward. "As you know, using such a technique could've eradicated not only universe seven, but possibly even some of the surrounding ones."

This would be a similar speech to what he used against Beerus many years later. "Would you explain why you didn't leave your homeworld with your angel instead of engaging these demons?"

Zydis has a solemn look on his face, knowing he's made a huge mistake. "My apologies, sir. My only wish as a destroyer is to protect my universe from harm."

"I understand where you're coming from, but Whis did warn you to never use that power," Daishinkan replies. Omesus and Zateus would be getting furious but would manage to keep their composure.

"I could've well handled that situation if you'd simply reported in alongside Whis," the Grand Priest continues. "The gods must learn not to disobey their superiors. Your fate has been decided, Zydis."

Zateus gets up and walks forward, surprising the other gods. "Stop! Zydis doesn't deserve this!"

Daishinkan looks over at him and squints as if he knows the mortal. "Zateus, you have no leverage against something of this importance. However, I did bring you here to ask you one question. Why did you decide to befriend Zydis in the first place?"

"Because unlike you, he's kind and respectable!" Zateus yells out, shocking the gods even more for his insults. "Why would you erase Zydis for something so petty? He only did what he did to protect the universe from that Frost Demon attack. Maybe you should've stepped in sooner rather than letting your other destroyers be killed-"

Whis goes behind him, yanking him backward. "My apologies for their outburst, father."

The Grand Priest stares at Zateus for a moment, before raising his hand and creating a blue orb, turning toward Zydis. "You will feel no pain, Zydis. Farewell."

In an instant, something in the warrior clicks, as his eyes flash silver and his hair stands up, shining. He zooms forward past everybody, grabbing Zydis and flying him out of the way just as Daishinkan launches a small beam that erases the ground.

Seeing this, Omesus also joins in, powering up into his True Super Saiyan God form and flying toward, launching a blast at Daishinkan. The Grand Priest spins his staff and knocks it to the side, destroying the wall.

Zateus lands, holding Zydis and setting him down. He'd be in Ultra Instinct Omen. "I will not allow you to erase my best friend. He means everything to me, and you'll have to erase me first before you erase him!"

Zydis watches his friend in shock, unable to form words. Daishinkan glares at Zateus and Omesus, clenching his staff. "So be it... You two will also be erased for interfering in this trial. Marcarita, Vados, restrain them."

Vados vanishes in front of Zateus, swinging her staff. The warrior manages to dodge out of the way, surprising Daishinkan. "Interesting... What is that technique? It's as if he's moving without thinking."

Right as he jumps, Zateus's hair turns silver, as he enters the completed state. He flickers and a flurry of blows hits Vados, sending her back. Seeing this, Marcarita summons the power of Destruction, rapidly jabbing at him with her palms.

The warrior dodges, blocks, and deflects her attacks. I owe Zalama my life... He thinks, as he shoots behind her in an instant, a thousand blows hitting Marcarita from every direction.

Omesus jumps in to help, but the other gods attack him, preoccupying him in the meantime. Marcarita grunts, falling to her knees. Both angels retreat, with the other gods on high alert. Daishinkan levitates down to the ground, walking forward. "I will take matters into my own hands."

He slides his foot back and vanishes in front of Zateus, going to grab him, but the mortal barely manages to dodge his attack. "He's fast!" Zateus says as he flies forward, launching multiple energy blasts that the Grand Priest deflects.

Daishinkan raises his two fingers and Zateus feels his body flying toward him. The Grand Priest brings his fist back and yells, slamming it into his gut. Zateus coughs up blood before yelling and rapidly barraging him.

Daishinkan growls, blocking the attacks, before kicking him into the wall and launching a beam that Zateus dodges. "You are only delaying the inevitable, Zateus!"

The warrior lands on his feet, smiling. "I'm not going to allow you to erase my best friend. Either give him another chance, or I'll defeat you myself."

"His fate has already been decided," the Grand Priest replies, before closing his eyes. An aura of destruction power surrounds him, illuminating the room with a purple light. "I will now fight you seriously."

In an instant, he'd have grabbed Zateus by the face and slammed him into the ground. The mortal yells in pain, trying to kick him off. "Damn you!"

Suddenly, Omesus plows through the gods and yells, slamming a punch on Daishinkan's face that momentarily stuns him. "Now, brother!"

Zateus leaps back and charges his ultimate attack, the raw energy destroying chunks of the palace. Gravitational lensing surrounds him, bending reality itself. "Cosmic Ravaging!"

A colossal white beam fires from him, heading toward Daishinkan. Right before it hits, all of the angels draw toward him. The beam consumes him and the entire palace, completely destroying it.

Zateus pants heavily, falling to one knee. "We did it..." Zydis walks up to him, staring at him, before pulling him into a hug. Zateus smiles, accepting it. "You're safe now, Zydis."

Zydis then realizes something. "Wait... But if we're now enemies to the gods, then... I can't be the God of Destruction."

"That won't matter," Omesus replies, walking up to him and placing a hand on his shoulder. "You can live as a mortal and have a peaceful life. Besides, it's not like your new powers are going anywhere. You'll be able to defend your home planet."

Zydis thinks about this for a moment and smiles, before suddenly his eyes widen, feeling a sharp pain in his chest. Zateus and Omesus look to see Daishinkan's hand shoved through the former destroyer's chest.

He'd look slightly different, now fused with his angels. He'd be even more powerful than before. "Hakai." A pulse shoots out, as Zydis looks down to see his body disintegrating.

The two brothers watch in complete shock as he smiles at them, tearing up. "I love you, guys... Say hello to my sons Beerus and Champa for me."

He fades away and Omesus and Zateus's visions turn black and white, before focusing on Daishinkan. In an instant, the Grand Priest flies forward and slams his staff into the two of them, sending them crashing away.

Zateus falls to his knees, trembling. Everything else would be blurry around him, as all he sees is Daishinkan himself. "You... you killed him."

The Grand Priest levitates in front of them, raising his hand and charging a powerful blast. "Your time is also up. You've caused enough chaos over the years, Zateus."

The mortal stares at him, his mind nearly blank. He'd only focus on one thing: Revenge. His only wish now is to kill Daishinkan for what he's done to their friend. His hair spikes up and glows white, as a red concentrated aura surrounds him.

Meanwhile, Omesus twitches in rage, black lightning striking around him. "Zydis... YOU... DAISHINKAN!" He roars, his hair turning white as he completely transforms at the same time as his brother.

He enters Super Saiyan White, and the two launch forward in an instant, landing a combined punch on Daishinkan's face. The Grand Priest yells, blood shooting out of his nose as he crashes through the wall.

Before he lands, Zateus vanishes behind him and kicks him upward, with Omesus flying above him and kicking him to the ground, completely shattering it. They barrage him with blasts, injuring him.

He grunts, crawling forward and trying to reach his staff. Omesus slams his foot onto his back, breaking it. He grunts, and with his remaining power, Daishinkan yells and flares up his aura, knocking them back.

He grabs his staff and it glows, three new figures landing in front of the two and knocking them back. Zeno and his guards would arrive, looking ticked off. The Omni King walks forward, looking up at the two mortals.

"Destroy them," he says, and the two guards, faster than either can react, kick them into the wall, breaking their ribs. They cough up blood, landing on the ground and powering down.

Zateus weakly looks up, realizing all is hopeless. "No... Why did I hesitate in killing that bastard?! He's... The creator of everything is going to erase us!"

The guards walk up to them, their antennae glowing. "By order of Lord Zeno, we now eradicate you."

Out of nowhere, a massive explosion happens from the rubble of the palace, as Qhuteus shoots out, shocking all of them. Zateus would recognize this figure because of Zalama. "Qhu... Qhuteus?!"

Qhuteus smirks, now older, having somehow broken out of his seal. "Hello, father, Omesus. I'll save you."

The guards turn toward him, walking up to him. "Stand back, or be erased."

Qhuteus chuckles, before immediately shooting forward and swerving around them. It wouldn't be enough to surpass the speed of the guards but would catch them off guard. He grabs Zateus and Omesus and closes his eyes, focusing.

Right before the guards attack them, they vanish and teleport to Universe Nineteen. They land on a random rocky planet with a breathable atmosphere, panting. Zateus looks up at the night sky, his vision clearing up. "You... You saved us, Qhuteus... But why?"

Qhuteus gets up, brushing himself off. "While I was sealed, I formulated a plan to destroy the gods. I've also listened to Daishinkan's conversations, and it seems your universe will be frozen in time soon."

Omesus's eyes widen. "The Saiyans... Wait... Zateus, we need to save your wife!"

"There's no time to do that," Qhuteus replies. "However... She recently gave birth to your child right as you were in the palace."

He places his hand on the ground, and a pattern appears and the Half-Saiyan baby appears on the ground, crying. Omesus's jaw drops. "But... Shouldn't she raise her own child?"

"I've simply teleported it across the multiverse," Qhuteus replies. "The child will be a valuable asset. With them being a Half-Saiyan, Half-Fallen Angel, their potential is limitless. Do you have a name for them?"

Without another word, Zateus gets up, despite his injuries, and picks up the baby, holding it in his arms. Immediately, the infant calms down, falling asleep. Ever since Zydis's erasure, he'd wanted nothing more than one thing, and that is to eliminate the gods.

He looks up. "Abysus... This child's name will be Abysus..."

To Be Continued in Chapter Thirty-Nine

The backstory is nearly over! I hope you enjoyed this latest chapter. Abysus is a Half-Saiyan, yes, but the reason for his absence of Saiyan powers will be explained in the next chapter.
